Tsubaki just became my favorite weapon in anime.... whirling steel and cuddly companion all-in-one.
The thing that saves Black Star from my wrath of "o noes, not another n----" is the hilarity of projecting an incarnation of Wiley Coyote. The unexpected surprise of their opponent at the end ----> priceless.

I think Black Star is a neat subversion of the standard shonen hero.
Rather than wanting to be the best, he knows he's the best. Also rather than try his best he tends to only use a fraction of his talents(possibly because most of the time he doesn't care about the mission, paying more attention to his reputation) Overall I like him, the guys crazy |

Spoiler for BlackStar in serious mode:
Neways, awesome series, will definitely stick to this one. Hope the fight scenes throughout the series will always be as awesome as the first 2 episodes, or prologues rather xD |

Nothing "happened to them" (they're even in this episode). They're just introducing each set of characters. One more set in ep 3 and we're ready to roll for many, many episodes.
