Wow. Whenever some other isekai LN's anime adaptation is announced, people always say that ones like Slime Datta Ken and Kumo desu ga deserved it more, or hopefully will be announced next. So, I'm sure many people have waited for this. Me included, as someone who read about half of the WN.
Looks like we don't have a lot of info yet, just "fall 2018". Just around the corner, huh. Edit: The studio and staff were just revealed too, the source is ryokutya2089 via moetron. Quote:

I wonder why it took so long.
Though personally I hoped for White Fox with 24 EPs... I don't know how many 2-cour or split-cour anime there are with 8bit studio, but I just hope they don't rush this like K&M. It would kill this series. Well at least this one will get the great advantage of pretty much being the first "reincarnated as a monster" anime adaption (Overlord doesn't count because Momonga is technically still a "player"). I noticed that isekai that get released as anime later on get pretty bad reception (at least in the West), because of supposedly "stealing/re-using ideas" from other shows, even in cases where the order of release of the source materials is in fact reversed.

Honestly not much from that summary sounds too interesting. Sounds pretty darn miserable being stuck as a blind slime. Either one of those conditions upon being sent to another world sounds pretty rough.
But hey if it has some hype behind it from people familiar with it, might as well check it out when it arrives. Personally the hype isn't really there, but will see how impressions change as previews come out. Long time until Fall. Quote:

I just started reading the manga. About halfway through the released manga and I've gotta say, the spider series was better. This was okay for a while until
Spoiler for minor spoiler for early manga event:
Spoiler for my opinion:

I don't know what all the fuss is about to be honest. I read a couple of chapters a while back and it struck me as the same forgettable derivative crap as so many other half baked isekai. But apparently everyone is comparing this to Kumo (a somewhat decent isekai I actually respect) so now I'm wondering what I missed. Dare I risk wasting my time on this one?

I'm definitely glad this is getting an anime but I can't say I'm super excited about it. I'll watch it for sure - hopefully the adaptation is done well. PS Kumo getting an anime would be a much bigger deal I think. It's VERY different in style even if it was partly inspired by Slime. If it followed the manga adaptation and ignored the side stories then 90%+ of the spoken lines would be by Kumoko (though I guess they could do the Parallel Wills with different VAs), which would be rather unusual... though would probably help reduce the costs If Kumo ever gets an anime my first post about it will simply be to say "Nai wa-" repeatedly Quote:

^What's with those "Slime eyes" being opened? I don't remember any such thing from the manga or LN... and honestly, as far as I am concerned those opened eyes look quite bad. The narrator also feels off somehow, I just don't like the voice I guess, which is unsual, since I am usually the one who wonders why others have problems with certain VAs while I am fine with them... guess there's a first time for everything.
Now the rest of the PV was quite good, actually. I like that they focus on this SLIME and don't force any out-of-place spoilers and out-of-place "waifus" into the PV for advertising purposes. This anime might just end up being great like this, despite what the people seem to have to say about the studio and the staff.
