Games that should make their way outside Japan!
There are some good games that we might not play but the Japanese. Maybe the Japanese also have same problem on many good Western games. It just unfair that the only problem with some good Japanese games is the language.
My personal vote goes to Super Robot Wars Original Generations and Super Robot Wars Original Generations Gaiden both for PS2. Both games did not have any license unlike many previous SRW games because all characters involved in both games are completely original. If Atlus can release both SRW OG games in GBA but why not PS2. Maybe because both games failed in North America. Forget about English voice-acting. Just look what both G-Collections and Peach Princess did to eroges. They just translated those games into English subtitles instead. It was cheaper, faster and more profitable. If the voice acting is the biggest problem, they just can use English subtitles instead. In fact all dialogs in those games have their own subtitled. They just can translate the subtitles instead and leaving the Japanese voice acting unaltered. I know some of you may disagree with me but those two are best candidate that should make their way outside Japan. |

I learned Japanese in the first place all because of SRW, the game series inspired my life, instilled hot bloodedness in me. Its a great game series and definitely needs to be more well known outside Japan.
But I really wouldn't want to hear someone else say 'Dark Sword Kill! CHOP!!', besides Latouni herself in Japanese. If any Japanese games need to go western, there should be no voice changes, only subtitles, like what you've mentioned. The same goes for anime itself.

I'm going to say this ahead of Erhjegel (Yes, I know he's going to mention this one).
Ar Tonelico 2. They've already done it with the first game, so please do the second game, GUST/Banpresto. (Though, chances are it's already being TLed, and they're just being hush-hush about it?) And while I'm at it, Persona 3 FES. (And again, chances are it's also being TLed at the moment, but no info.) |

I would've liked to have seen the following games brought over:
-Recent Cave Shmups (Mushihimesama Futari, ESPGaluda 2, Pink Sweets, Mushi Mushi Pork) - admittedly, there are no console ports, so this is really wishful thinking -Arcana Heart Series - PS2 port can be imported, but not so sure about the sequel coming out next year -Melty Blood Series - can be run on PC, but with Japanese text, PS2 port of Act Cadenza can be imported. What will happen to Actress Again? -Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes - Supposedly like Dynasty Warriors but much better

- Kingdom Hearts Final Mix +. Given the fanbase here, I see no reason to keep it in Japan
- The A.C.E. games. Dammit, I want to pilot me some big robots of death (especially the Valkyries) - More visual novels. After seeing some of the shows based off them, I'm curious about the original game itself. - I wouldn't mind getting to play Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine, the MMO. It looked pretty interesting, but I realize this is the most impractical choice of my list. - Provided it was as good as some of the other titles in the series, the Shin Megami Tensei: NINE should get here too. - You know what? Just bring all the rest of the MegaTen games over here, even the oldest ones. - Idolm@ster: Ever since I saw the video previews on YouTube I've wanted to play this game. It just looks really fun. I'm modding my consoles and picking most of these things up when I go there later this year. >_< |

Ooooh, Ar tonelico 2, you bet! I'd do anything short of murder, mass genocide, and/or wanton unnecessary destruction of boats full of food and medicine to sick dying orphans just to get this game localized and translated.

Front Mission 5 beyond a shadow of a doubt. I know Front Mission 4 sold poorly, but Front Mission 5 was ranked by many game websites as the import game of the year when it came out.
Tales of Rebirth as well, and maybe one of the SD Gundam G Generation strategy games. They've proven with games like Gundam Musou that they don't care if a game reatures unlicensed series or not, so why the heck not bring a game that isn't a straight up action game out. I mean considering we got Gundam Crossfire, which was an abomination of a game, it's the least they could do to bring out something good. |
