Hello there! At least i've decided to create this thread. Here's some of my creation of signatures and (maybe) any other images... I'm also thinking of posting some of my tutorials here but maybe later...

Just like the title suggest, i'm a people that like simplicity, so most of the sigs here maybe seems "plain". Well, i cannot create "extreme" background art with Photoshop anyway . As you can see here, i'm even using 3DSMax to cover my dull Photoshop skills, altough my 3D skills is also still dull... But now i'm still in progress of learning so, well...

Enough with my ramblings, here some of the sigs. If you want to use it please pm me first. (It all has "furuno" on it anyway, so have to remove them first).

Comments & suggestions is much appreciated.

This is one of the bunch of Clannad sigs i've made. Others can be found here and here.


Improvement to the #1 sigs. With sea and sky background.


Yet another improvement (or deprovement?). Different scans and bg. I've done the bg with 3DSMax, actually want to animate it, but the size become too big for smooth animation.


Actually i want to use this for the "Elegant" SOTM, but i was busy that time. So can't finish it. I'll leave this like this however...


Made during spare time... Just made this because she's cute...


Anothe candidate for "Sad" SOTM, but, oh well... Don't participate either...


Latest (at this time of posting). Done this after finishing the Clannad game... This sigs give me warm feeling when looking at it...

Congrats on making the thread furuno!

Although your sigs are simple (like mine ) however, I very much prefer simple styled sigs. Well, that's just other people's preferences. I very much like your works especially this ones.

Here's some Photoshop tutorial about how to create the moon in one of my sigs :

Hello! This is my first Photoshop tutorial. In this tutorial i will explain to you how to create a (i hope) realistic looking moon.
I know there is a lot of this kind of tutorial in the web, but none of those satisfy me. So i'll combine some of those method and experimenting a bit and here's what i come with :


I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS3 but i think it should be okay with any version of Photoshop...

Well, let's begin, shall we?

First, we will make a moon pattern (or texture). To do this you can use any moon image or any texture image. Btw, here's my moon texture :


Okay, let's open that image in Photoshop.
Select Edit > Define Pattern..., this should bring up the Pattern Name dialogue box. Name that texture as your wish, here i named it as "Moon Texture".


Close that image. And create a new file with any size you want. Here, my size is 500x500 pixels.


Fill the background entirely with black.


Create a new layer, name it "Moon Texture", and make a selection using the elliptical marquee tool around 75% of the image size.


Select Edit > Fill... (or press Shift+F5). Use : Pattern. And click the arrow beside the image beside Custom Pattern and choose your moon pattern that we created before. Click OK when your done. Do not deselect yet.


Select Filter > Distort > Spherize.... Amount : 100%. Click OK. Redo this filter with 50% amount. You should have something similiar to this now :


Duplicate the "Moon Texture" layer by pressing Ctrl+J. Name it "Moon Glow".


Double click the "Moon Glow" layer to bring up the Layer Style dialogue box. Use the following settings. Blend Mode : Linear Dodge (Add). Fill Opacity : 0%.


Click on Outer Glow. Use the following settings. Blend Mode : Linear Dodge (Add). Color : 7483BE. Size : 25 px. Anti-aliased : Yes. You can use any color you want here. Just make sure to remember that color's hexadecimal value.


Click on Inner Glow. Use the following settings. Blend Mode : Screen. Opacity : 100%. Color : 7483BE (Same as Outer Glow). Size : 100 px. Anti-Aliased : Yes.


Change the layer order. Move that "Moon Glow" layer below "Moon Texture" layer.


Create a new layer, name it "Moon Color". Fill it (Edit > Fill... / press Shift+F5) with the same color as Outer Glow and Inner Glow color (7483BE). Right click on that layer and select Create Clipping Mask.


At this point, we're done with making a moon. Your result should be similiar like this.


Now, let's create a crescent moon. To do this first create a new layer, name it "Moon Shadow". And create a selection using elliptical marquee tool around 80% of the moon size. Adjust the selection to the place where you want the moon shadow is.


Fill that selection with black (Shift+F5 to do this).


Press Ctrl+T to bring up the Free Transform dialogue in the top. Use the following settings. W : 120%. H : 120%. Choose that check mark when you've done.


Select Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.... Use any radius that you'll think enough. I'm using 20 pixels here.


Move that "Moon Shadow" layer with the Move Tool to a better place for a shadow . Looks good? We've not done yet... This moon will be quite hard to be extracted for use with anothee image. Let's make it easier to extract...


Again create an ellips selection similiar like this. Make sure your selection border is close to the moon's dark/light border.


Grab that Eraser Tool. Use the following settings. Size : BIG. Hardness : 100%. Erase the area inside that selection on "Moon Texture" and "Moon Glow" layer. Remember to erase in both layer!


Now you should have a result similiar to this.


If you hide that "Moon Shadow" layer (click on the Eye Icon beside your "Moon Shadow" layer, there's still an "outer ring" on the top right. Let's eliminate it.


Grab that Eraser Tool again. Use large size that the edge of the eraser at least matches 50% with your moon's dark/light border. Use 50% hardness. And erase on the "Moon Texture" and "Moon Glow" layer once. Remember to erase in both layer!


Now hide your "Moon Shadow", "Moon Texture", and "Background" layers. Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E. Rename that new layer "Final Moon". That's your final result. Enjoy!


kay, now we've done! I hope you enjoyed my very first tutorial.
As a final words, altough in this tutorial we've created a moon. You can use this technique to create planets too!
And for those people wandering what's that in the bottom left of my screenshots, it's my windows start button orb.

Phew, at least my quarter exams is finished. Here's my latest work.

This is signature i've made from Byousoku 5cm official wallpaper. Only crop work and simple task to re-create the title.

Wow Furuno, those 5cm sigs are pretty nice, even if they are crops with slight additions. The shots are beautifully chosen and I like the additions you made. By any chance, would it be possible for others to use them? Or is it just for your own personal use?

Aah God, I love all your 'simple' work. Some could say they're plain, but it just looks beautiful without 'any' effects ^_^. Love your 5cm siggys. Not too long ago I was almost engaged with it
