I always read the rules on joining a forum... they *do* differ.

If ya don't read 'em.... then you have no excuse when a rule thumps you.

I read them a couple of times when I was a noob; A few months later, when I started fooling around with avatars and sigs, I read them again to better understand the allowed limits here.

Ever since then, I have failed to understand why so many people have trouble with the text in sigs rule. >_<!

Never.

I always get the jist of what goes on in a forum.

Eg.

Don't insult on terms of race, religion or sexual preference.
Don't swear, if not at all, not much.
Don't type in large text.
Don't type in small text.
Don't use ridiculous colors that no one can read.

Etc.

ah... but see that means you have "common sense" .... which appears lacking in far too high a percentage of posters

But seriously though I've read bits and pieces of it that i wanted to check up on, but never the whole thing. Most of it is just common sense that you pick eventually if you hang around long enough anyway lol =P

I always read them when joining any forum (except the most obvious things) but then I might get a little lazy reading them again. I am pretty forgetful though so mainly signature rules gets the dustbin in my brain.
I never try to break them willingly though.

Probably over 4 times.

Several occasions where I got annoyed at people not using capitalisation and full words and I checked the rules just to make sure.

I also seem to watch a lot of MFI stuff so when someone asked for fansubs on a non-MFI thread, I just read the rules to make sure that I'm indeed allowed to provide the person the name of a fansub group.

Never, I picked up everything from various forum posts and common sense telling me what in the first place shouldn't be said. . .

Course maybe I should just check them on occasion just for the hell of it. . .

This is the second forum I joined after Gamespot, which has no rules. So I read them like my life depended on it. Just the once that is.
