The shounen manga Shikabane Hime will be getting a second anime season.

The second anime adaptation of the manga is titled: Shikabane Hime Kuro (屍姫玄)

The "Shikabane Hime" manga is serialized in the shounen manga magazine Shounen GanGan.
Currently there are 9 volumes released of this manga.

This is being done by a different studio right? Can't be worse then the first season which so far has been pretty average and this is coming from a Gainax fan, but they've dissapointed me here.

Well, it was all planned from the start. Last year, StarChild ran with a similar plan for Minami-ke (back to back seasons produced by different studios).

If I recall correctly, that studio was responsible for producing the Jinki:Extend anime and OtoBoku anime.

I don't remember right now which other shows they made.

Just to clarify a bit more, the first season of Shikabane Hime was done by both GAINAX and Feel. Seems like the second season will only be done by Feel.

What's to say FEEL isn't the reason season one is "disappointing"?

If it was planned in the very beginning then FUNi prob has it too. It would make no sense to stream part 1 and not part 2.

At this point in time we will consider the title as licensed, considering this series continued a week after the first series (Shikabane Hime: Aka) finished. Another point to note is that FUNimation list the series as Shikabane Hime (not Shikabane Hime Aka) on YouTube.

(-_-) The ED is nice though, song-wise. An okay starting episode for this season, starting off half a year after Aka... Which doesn't feel that way at all. So Makina was chained and did nothing for half a year, and Ouri trained for half a year and got nowhere. In other words, it doesn't really matter how much time was skipped... There was some interesting parts, I guess, with the preparation of the villains to attack and Ouri trying to convince Makina to be his partner and stop rotting on the stone, but it was rather eventless. There was some action, but it was rather short, with the most impressionable being a short battle scene against some spirits that proved to be the good guy's loss. And there was some pointless and useless randomness used on fanservice, like the appearance of that big-chested girl (why are you still making appearances...?) or a naked scene of that super bou-voice shikabane and the other monk peaking on her. ...And that new Shiakabane Hime just hurts... Big breasts, ya~y, English mixed in sentences, ya~y, erotic clothes, ya~y. <--sarcasm Well, I hope she ends up doing more than just be some ero-fanservice for watchers... That super final boss white-haired girl... Kowa-kawaii (scary-cute)... Preview: Continuation, it seems? The big baddies were called by, after all. __________________ RIP, my laptop... You have worked hard up to this day... (8/10/09) But... Seriously, let me transfer my files and images. Give them back! Don't die on me yet! Give me my files back!! Uwaaaaaaaahhh!!

mandarb916 Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008	Spoiler: aside from the stereotypical american (western?) otaku who died in a plane crash on her way to akihabara (literally), didn't find the episode to be bad at all. The fan service was a bit much but considering a lot of the top selling DVD vol 1 were from risque/borderline ero series (ToLOVEru, Sekirei, Kanokon) in 2008, I can't say I blame them for doing stuff like that. Akiyama Nana, while still crummy by typical VA standards, is improving slowly. Her voice itself is pretty nice (not the acting) and tbh I've gotten used to it. OTOH, Ouri's VA hasn't improved at all since ep1 of Aka. Anyhow, looking forward to the rest of the series...don't like the new ED song at all..."My Story", except how the song ended, imho is far better than the new one..
