While I enjoyed the episode, I can't really rate it yet. Normally I can pick up the context and enough words to understand most of whats going on. This episode however, was very tough. I hardly understood anything, and what I got from context I thought couldn't be correct.

Spoiler for Episode 5:

The Pizza Hut thing is really excessive in this episode. I'm happy they're sponsoring the show, but hopefully they'll tone it back down a bit.

Despite what I thought from the preview last week, no Shouko this week.

Really not sure what was up with Kashiwagi, Yuuki, and Yumi. It almost looked like Kashiwagi was trying to get Sachiko and Yuuki to hook up. If its true, that would certainly be an interesting development. Course as I said, with my limited Japanese, this time, I really couldn't grasp a lot from the show.

Was amusing that despite Yumi being early for their date, Sachiko was even earlier.

As usual, I look forward to the subs!

Good episode, felt the pizza hut advertising seemed a little extreme. It was nice to have a episode that focused mainly on Yumi and Sachiko, since most of the rest of the series, will be on Yumi's Soeur i'd imagine.
I wasn't really sure what kashiwagi was up to, have to wait for the subs for that, but he is a character that has grew on me. When he first appeared I didn't like him, but in the OVA's I grew to like him a bit more. His driving seems to have improved anyway :P

can someone tell me that whole dialogue between Kashiwagi and Yumi before she got called to see Sachiko in her room? sorry i don't know japanese.

No spoilers since I understood next to nothing of the dialogue. However, I must say that the animation quality was uneven throughout the episode especially in the beginning (think grande roses grad). And the body drawings were even worse. Yumi looked like a juice box. It did get better toward the episode's end.

Very nice episode, the second part was especially well done. Yumi admitting to Sachiko that she felt jealous of Kashiwagi and her response to it were terribly cute.
Then, I should be jealous of Yuuki too The thought of it is pure gold.

Now I can't wait for next episode, Touko goodness! Yes!

Though I wish they would stop it with the Pizza.. it's so.. *facepalm*

Geez, I guess the animators feel the same about it, but sponsors are sponsors. For anyone who has had to organize anything you know that sometimes you just have to give in to the people who are putting the money

Yumi: You like being so conceited.
Kashiwagi: I would like to think not.. it's just that, I thought you wanted to maybe discuss privately to me about something.

Kashiwagi: You see Yumi-chan, I see you as the type that will simply ignore people you don't like. That's why.. for you to make such a strong comment to me means that I'm making some progress with you. For now, I see it as a compliment. If you didn't have anything to say about me, that would be far worse.
Yumi: I think I'm jealous of you, Kashiwagi-san.
Kashiwagi: I'm aware of that.
Yumi: You're in love with Sachiko, right?
Kashiwagi: Yes, I love her.
Yumi: Then why did you do such a thing?

Yumi: You told Sachiko that you will interfere with "konyaku"*.
Kashiwagi: I give up.
Yumi: You're in love with Sachiko-sama, right? I can tell when looking at you. But...
Kashiwagi: But....?
Yumi:　**I'm not sure what "konyaku"* is therefore, it's hard to tell what they are talking about. Perhaps, marriage or something else. But Yumi is referring to how Kashiwagi seems suspicious on this intention**
Kashiwagi: I see. There are things you have yet to realize yet. I definitely love Sachiko.. but I love variety of things. I love Sachiko but I love Yuuki, too. And.. I love Yumi, too.
Yumi: Isn't Sachiko #1?
Kashiwagi: What do you mean by #1? I love dogs. I love Maple Parlor. It's hard to compare by the way of ranking.
Yumi: But..
Kashiwagi: What about Yumi, do you love your Father and Mother? What if you mix in Yuuki? And Sachiko? You can't possibly decide who is #1. I love Sachiko... but I have no intention of marriage.. at least that's how I feel for now.
Yumi: So, you don't want to marry Sachiko... or no one at all?
Kashiwagi: If it is with Yumi-chan, then maybe I'll consider it.
Yumi: Excuse me! I can't laugh at a joke like that.
Kashiwagi: Understood. I'll stop. But one last thing.. you can't win. You have a lot more to learn. Don't give up so easily and aim for the higher stage. Your sad puppy eyes won't work on me. This is the end of our discussion, no more hint from me.
Yumi: If you're not my enemy, what are you exactly..?
Kashiwagi: "doushi"(?)** Not sure exactly what this is. XD

I'm not good at translating Japanese to English so take it lightly. I also download the sub version for details I might have missed.

Anyway, it's good to see Yumi X Sachiko fan service. This is exactly why Chinesis family is my favorite. This episode also mentioned how Touko could have been in place of Yuuki at the theme park. That would have certainly been more interesting! But I'm sure she refused to accompany Kashiwagi for the sake of giving Yumi some space with Sachiko. The theme park itself reminded me a lot of Disneyland: Pirate Cave, churros, some of the rides, etc. Good episode as far as entertainment, but I question whether they can afford to stray away from other important issues.

'konyaku' means engagement: as in engaged to be married.
'doushi' means comrade, or ally.

konyaku = fiance(e) right? hehe I'll wait for the subs to comment more. This episode is about Yumi and Sachiko's relationship. A very close relationship. LOL

IIRC, fiance would translate as konyakusha.

You're right, I just thought it sounded familiar from the time Sachiko used that word 'konyakusha' in Season 1. When she told everyone Suguru was her fiance. So 'konyaku' is engagement.

Oh my, I'm itching to get the subs soon. This episode is probably my favorite for the season. HEHE Sachiko x Yumi moments.

Great episode, plenty of Yumi facial expression (her date hairstyle looks a lot better then the twin hairstyle) and a lovely moment between Yumi and Sachiko, at the end.

Yeah i agree, i adored Yumi's hairstyle for the amusement park date.

It's been a while, though still good to see that Kashiwagi is as cool as ever.

Is that the first time they used the animation style from the 'Naisho' DVD extras in the main series? It was kind of out of place but it also worked.

Pizza hut... Well, I suppose it's income. I heard something about how the Pizza Hut advertising was removed from Code Geass for the R1 release. Maybe if RightStuf/Nozomi licence this series all the Pizza Hut signs (which to me looked a bit tacked on and slightly disjointed) will be replaced with GenericPizzaCo.

Next episode should be good. I can hardly wait...

Sachiko really made it a habit to fix/touch Yumi's clothes/scarf/tie/ribbons. Why don't she just be honest with herself? LOL I don't know if it's shoujo ai or yuri.. maybe border line, past sisterly love? Yumi also seems to be used to her Onee-sama's advances.

A satisfying watch. Yumi looked much cuter than usual with her hair style in this episode. Suguru kind of bothered me in the way he was giving hints to Yumi. Seems to me that he likes Yumi more than he lets off. But my favorite part from this episode goes to Yumi and Sachiko's interactions.
