Your Collections Thread: Show us your collections (any... even stamps & coins are ok)

Reference from some forum. (so I decided to put it here)

Questions:
1.) What do you collect? Why?
ans: Gothic Lolita Bibles, academic stuff about anime, figurines, well mostly stuff from anime... the reason why I collected this... hmm... I never thought of that question until it popped out... I guess it would be the characters mostly (tried to like all the characters I see... I rarely disliked the character...). I also plan to collect two things later on... autographs and costumes...

2.) What is your favorite aspect of that thing?
ans: The quality, the lengths I go to shopping for that thing (and mostly the temptation), the cuteness, content and.... stuff like that.... or the power of temptation...

3.) What is the most prized item in your collection?
ans: Konata Izumi, Nagato Yuki... although I like them all...

(I can't think of other questions though...)

Spoiler for space:

Oh crap... I forgot to include gaming consoles, gaming strategy guides and anything related to gaming... (forgot the core component of the AMG otaku obsession...)

Well I collect manga, but only volumes I find worth buying
Other than that I collect doujinshi's of my favorite pairings, mostly due to the drawings if it is well drawn then I'd like to have it
Other than that I used to collect comics and still have a lot of them and collect Dunnies or small funny figurines, but not active I buy one per collection or one of a collection I really like (like the smoking hippos)

Favourite aspect, the drawing quality seeing how the artist gave their heart and soul into drawing something. With dunnies the individuality and because they look strange, it is always fun to go into a shop that sells these kind of things.

As for my most prized possession, I don't know how much my older spider-man volumes are worth but I have quite some old ones that I bought very cheaply from the market, I don't care about their value. But the most prized one I bought, because I still think it is brilliantly and very hilariously thought of is a volume in which Peter Parker changes into the Hulk, more like Spulk from 1991

I had so much fun reading it that because of its individuality I would label it as most prized possession

Had a huge Music CDs and Tape collection in my early teen . But when got my own PC ripped those CDs and distributed them among my friends . Now I barely have around 50-70 CDs . I am not much into collecting stuff tend to use than to preserve .

The tapes/cassettes were pretty rare had got them in a Closing Sale from a Music Store . But most are destroyed or fungus-ed dont have them anymore

I have a small collection of Anime DVDs and also Video Games on Playstation 2/3 and Nintendo Consoles (SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Original GameBoy, GameBoy Pocket, GameBoy Advance and SP, Nintendo DS/DS Lite (which the hinge broke on me) and Nintendo DSi.)

Oddly, I have alot of old and new Apple products (2 really old Macs, iMac G3, PowerMac G3, Mac mini G4, 3 Macbook Pros, 30 GB iPod Video, iPod Touch 2G, iPhone 3G/3GS). Some of these are still in use such as the Macbook Pros, Mac mini G4 (torrent and VNC machine), iPod Touch 2G (for recording lectures) and iPhone 3GS (Primary phone and media player)... and of course, alot of old, dead computers.

so, not so easy to get away from. but if you think about the beneficial factors on women vs. collecting, i don't see how any is superior. though you can combine by havin' many relationships and think of it as a "collection"(just my opinion).

I've tried collecting bugs when i was a child..then I realized how gross(disectin' them) that was. some strange people collecting the weirdest things: saliva, pentips, papers from different notes, broken leads etc

food is something, but it expires too shortly.

I'll just leave my survey in the sig....

Maybe I should have added cards in the survey... hmm... (but it's only otaku [in the English definition] related... XD)

Not a big tradeoff. Just look for girls who have this trait.

I only buy anime in complete box sets. And I'm collecting all of the Halo novels
The only anime figurine I've ever really wanted is this Vash the Stampede one I can't really find.
Maybe Kusanagi from GITS too

Baseball Card Interested me, but that was between junior high and high school a long time ago and I let them go when I moved. Anime DVDs and Mangas are my interest these days. If I come across an anime magazine that carries posters Megami at a japanese store I will get one (not online). Right now I can't seem to outgrow this hobby.

While my interest in a wide range of Sci-fi books might count, to narrow it down to authors, I've been trying to collect everything published by Peter F. Hamilton and Alastair Reynolds so far. I prefer to own the books rather than loan them, so my collection grows... I need a bigger bookcase.

After those I'm going after several other authors, especially within hard sci-fi or speculation sci-fi genre.

I tend to collect a lot of things. I had a huge Soul Eater collection a few months ago...

Spoiler for SE stuff:

I also have tons of trading cards (Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, etc), fossils, rocks, coins, paper bills, keychains, animal figures, award certificates from school, brochures, and all that whatnot. I'm sentimental about a lot of things so I tend to hold onto objects.
