Surname is Sarutobi, Given Name Konohamaru! - 姓は猿飛、名は木ノ葉丸! ~ Sei wa Sarutobi, Na wa Konohamaru!.

Description:

Quote:

Pain's Naraka Path displays its mysterious power against two leaf shinobi while Konohamaru Sarutobi watches in horror. Pain senses Konohamaru's presence but is interrupted by Ebisu who takes on Pain in order to allow Konohamaru to escape. After seeing Ebisu about to be killed, Konohamaru intervenes and after learning of the Naraka Path's ability, judging souls and then reaping the sinner of their life, with a Shadow Clone, he unleashes the Rasengan and is able to keep the Naraka Path at bay.

This is the episode I'm supposed to not like just by the virtue of Konohamaru's name is there in the episode title, right? But I also promised Frenchie that I'll give the episode a chance after reading one of his thoughts. Bring it on!

That was a good episode. But I couldn't really tell how good the animation was from the shitty stream, maybe the episode will be less impressive in high quality.

They kind of ruined the episode by moving the flashback to the beginning of the episode for some reason, but it was still okay.

It still looks weird seeing that out of all possible people it was Konohamaru who took out one of Pein bodies...

Oh! It looks like Shizune will get robbed next week.

Sarutobis have all died up until now, so Konohamaru has a lot to make up for

. And, as so long as he doesn't start smoking, and he doesn't keep any facial hair, he should be okay (If he does grow a beard, and he does start smoking, though, say goodbye to Konohamaru)...

That being said, I hate Akiko Koike as Konohamaru. She plays the character too young...

I did like this episode, and I did like seeing Naruto as a knuckleheaded sensei for his knuckleheaded student...but the Naruto training sections really interrupted Konohamaru's moment. It was also great to see how many people refuse to give up info on Naruto...

So glad they got rid of the retarded red cheeks that Konohamaru was displaying in the entire manga segment of this fight.

the episode was ok, didn't have to focus all on konohamaru the entire episode cuz he just wowe'd us in 5 seconds.

but credit to him for taking down the first pain in konoha

Well, just saw the episode and I must admit they did a better job with it than I expected. They more or less condensed all the manga material into just one segment and their choice of background music wasn't bad at all. I liked the taijutsu padding they added in between panels with both Konohamaru and Ebisu, it made the fight a bit more fluid.

Overall quite satisfied. Though.. I think they cut out a bit of the flashback. It was the best part of the manga, in some ways. It was the redeeming point and the reason the chapter actually made a lot of sense. They kept the theme of teaching/will of fire/legacy intact, but they skipped the other part. They might use it later on and I think I know in which scene they'd add it to.

Kakashi (with a little help from Chouza) took down the 1st Pain. Konohamaru...well he certainly hit this Pain pretty damn good, but it is unclear if he really took it down.

Overall, great episode.

I only have two complaints: THe first is the flashback dealing with rotation, power etc. It made it too obvious at the beginning. THey should have put ti with the flashback just before he attacks Pain.

The second is the Tai-Jutsu segment. Don't get me wrong, it was great, its just it made Pain seem weaker than he is.

Apart from those two nit-picks, this ep was awesome.

Are you fucking kidding me? They devoted this whole episode to one of the most annoying characters in all of Naruto, all 23 mins of Konoharmaru. They gave this episode more respect than the Kakashi one...just speed up to Naruto already jesus christ...

Well, don't really underestimate Rasengan, if undefended and use properly, it can almost one-shot anyone.

Bad episode imo.

I think it is stupid that they made Konohamaru land a hit on Pain. After Kakashi fail, Chouji+ His Dad fail, Ibiki fail, ANBU fail they make Konohamaru land a Rasengan.. That Pain body will most likely stand up after but the simple fact that Konohamaru hit him pissed me off.

Only thing I liked this episode was the glasses teacher. He actually fought like a real ninja without all the jutsu's and stuff.
