Finally Katsuragi gets his revenge!

Finally caught up on this one, and I just have to say, I'm so glad I didn't start reading this earlier.

That last chapter was definitely a good place to stop and wait for more releases.

The author did a good job with making that series both compact and enjoyable.

There were some rough points on the PoV switches, but honestly it was an exciting read all the way up to current.

Indeed, and it's only the first revenge. Author hinted that there will be much more fun in store.

Though reviving him seems kind of like a bad idea even for revenge purposes... The sooner he puts him to rest permanently the better probably. Maybe revive him kill him a few times and be done with it in the day. If he tries to torture him too long it's likely to backfire on him.

Things with that other girl seem suspicious, Nanami? in both of the test examples she was shown to be on "his" side there's also the childhood friend flags she was giving off with mention of her true crush. As well as her being the only one to show a pained reaction + do nothing during the times he was bullied.

Though so far there's some really weird points being given off by her like her "conversations" with a God at night and the way she was acting to lead them down through that maze.

For now it seems like there's a possibility she's being lead by Mishia into supporting Katsuragi as well (based on her potential feelings for him), though there's still the possibility for a twist like shes the "true hero" for the other side.

Making guesses on future developments for this one is almost as fun as Mushoku.

the GOD just messing around about the attributes he made HAREM attributes, then the Ikemen Hero suggested the MC to put his BONUS STATS of 5300 in HAREM attributes since no one will pick it ( even though the Ikemen is just joking around ) .... he didn't imagine the MC follow his suggestion to put all his stats at Harem Attributes :)

well, for his skill, actually it was one of a few bug skill that the goddess add to prevent world end

there's other skill like 'hard gay', 'smel fetish', and the best and most hillarious was 'L.O.V.E Oniichan <3'

and this skill was created to save the world from still unknown dangerous

as far as the story goes, actually after he reincarnated, not only his stat, but his brain also 'bugged'

The reason is an ability: He gains sculptor transformation later, which basically allows him to shape shift into a sculpture he makes.

He makes use of the ability often confusing people as to what class he is, since he switches between Dwarf, Orc?, Lich/Skeleton, Human all the time.

- Pros, crazy development of comedy + super extreme kanchigai stuff (misunderstanding) in a good (neat) way. Protagonist when he is not in patrick mode (patrick from spongebob) is badass.
- Cons, Because it's crazy and lots of misunderstanding that can drive you mad, maybe you will get irritated, especially if the protagonist is in patrick mode. Just give up if you want any proper development.
GRAVE WARNING: shut off your brain when you read this, seriously, otherwise you will get it more worse especially after torturing your brain with MT.

Yeah. He saw it all.

He went all the way with shield in the end of that volume as well.

He also killed Sameshima another 99x (personal favorite is feeding him the magic stone so he explodes) and then just left his corpse in the bottom of the dungeon, I'm glad he's not an idiot on trying to keep him alive to continue torturing him. Way too dangerous in the long run.

On the other hand I think leaving Sajima down there alone was a bad idea, she might have a hidden hand to fight back with and escape then vowing revenge. She might end up an even bigger threat as the "true hero".

- ネクストライフ (Next Life), published by Hero Bunko. Trip story. A guy is transported right after being trapped in avalanche, as a PC of the game he played, the wizard Marius. Looking for OP protagonist? then here is for you. Actually pretty good, but...why the cover is always Rovissa? I want Auranith and Nergal~~

- 境界迷宮と異界の魔術師 (Kyoukai Meikyuu to Ikai no Majutsushi). Tensei story. Protagonist killed by a robber, and then have his soul entered 7 years old boy, Theodore. Abused by his half-siblings and half-mother, he decided leave his home and travel to dungeon city along with his faithful dhampir maid, Grace. Quite interesting but not that very good. A rare staff-wielding protagonist (Aang or Sun Wukong, anyone?), at least the fighting scene is not bad.

- Vermillion；朱き強弓のエトランジェ (Vermilion; Akaki Goukyuu no Etrange), published by Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! Bunko. Trip (again). Basically about a VRMMORPG, Demondal with hardcore element: no skill (though there is proficiency), no level, no inventory, no guild, such that you will wonder is this even a game? One day, Demondal turn into reality, Kei and his Russian friend, along with other people are trapped there, the difficulty which already hard enough became even harder!

- ビルドエラーの盾僧侶　～最強タンクが異世界で回復職についた場合～ (Build Error no Tate Souryo ~Saikyou Tank ga Isekai de Kaifuku Shoku ni Tsuita Baai~). Mix of many elements: VRMMORPG, Another World, Death Game, Superpower. One day, a big event happened and many people are awakened to special abilities: like pyrokinesis, telekinesis, gravity control, etc... not done yet, the world also found the existence of another world, and they able to make connection to it, through VRMMO later named as Cross Chronicle Online. Protagonist is a hardcore gamer and take pride on it, when he login the first time, he met the goddess of that world who ask him to save her. Distracted he accidentally clicked a wrong profession and became a priest with very low intelligent but very high defense! As a entertainment story, this one serves it's purpose well to young audience, although the story is a bit lacking in depth, or maybe the pace is just slow? nevertheless it still a good read with funny characters (dedicated Sakuya~ and taciturn Phil~)

- のんびりＶＲＭＭＯ記 (Nonbiri VRMMOki). Honobono. About an older brother who play a vrmmo as a supervisor to his younger twin sisters (and later a twin friend next door), but unknown to them, they became akin to celebrity there!? Similar to Only Sense Online. Funny and cute.

- The game very start quest which serve as a tutorial: defeat the bandits! a girl is surrounded by 4 lizardmens. You defeat the lizardmens, and when you thought the quest is finished, turns out the bandit is actually the girl there (with high level), get backstabbed and you receive your first game over (this quest failure rate is over 90%).

- The second quest that you can find is a serial quest about a last will of a wealthy person, which gives you clue to where you can find a treasure. You have to travel to here and there, and then goes to the deepest end of a beginner dungeon, find the last clue there and......go back to the first place you found the will, the treasure is buried beside it.

- Never goes to the plain on a certain time (I forgot) or you will encounter Train-chan! you will be forced to save a girl who is running away from crowd of monsters. As the monsters are too much for you to handle, especially if you're a low-level noob who accidentally caught up in the panic, you have the option to run, but then you realized that the trap is not only vicious but is also sweet: The graphic of this game is so awesome and thus, girl is so cute that you can't leave her alone... and so you tried to become a hero, hold them down and tell the girl to run, you fought valiantly, but your power is not enough... You feel you have died as a real men there, and as you're wondering if the girl have run far away, you opened your eyes in disbelief as Train-chan actually goes back and try to fought the monster as well, because she can't leave you alone. Damn it! she is not just pure and lovable in appearance but also her character, too bad you can't do nothing but watch her getting overwhelmed by those monsters. Just when your HP hits 0, your body didn't disappear right away (like usual) the bug lag the process and you are forced to watch her gruesome death of getting her head lopped right in front of your eyes, close up. Okay, let's go back to when you found Train-chan. You decided to run away, and you hear her screaming for you to help her, you ignore her and you hear a sound behind you. When you look back, you will see her stumble. You decided to harden your mind and ignore her, it looks like the monster are programmed to kill her slowly, and so, you will have to hear her crying of pain behind (either stabbed or chewed). And then you realize, the moment you encounter Train-chan, you can't escape from her...this event is known as one of a trauma inflicting event in New Communication Online number 2 after the lizardmens trap

Log Horizon is a trip IIRC, while SAO are semi-trip since they get trapped but eventually getting released. The point is they get transported to digitized world, or the digitized one sublime through unknown way to the real world, either way it's considered a trip as long as it has a media (into a book or a game) and are done without any summoning interference.

In arifureta case, it's ten'i or tenshou. Although afar, the world is parallel to our world but not digitized, the rpg element just happened to be there. This usually done with summoning.

Just got into Souen Historia, the pacing is all over the place, the writing is rather un-engaging, the characters are rather boring. Will read til at least they reunite but crap it's boooring even with his superpower when he rarely ever use it for anything interesting, will decide to continue reading or not after that.

Pretty much, the only thing that kinda interested me was that the MC kinda longed for the childhood friend like she longed for him; after all in narou is "popular" for tensei and the like to simply ditch the "fated one" of the "previous self" and go for someone new...... But of course based on the fact that every breathing female develops a crush for the MC; we are pretty much clear on out any chance of a meaningful search for a proper relationship is ruled out. Harem hijinks are here to stay.

I loved the funeral, it was powerful and full of emotion; I hoped for the series to have many "strong & meaningful" scenes such as that one, but there is absolutely nada. If you are reading until they reunite, be prepared to choke down a hundred or so of chapters....

Ugh you're lowering my already all too low motivation on reading it, the constant POV change (like every 3rd or 4th chapter, annoying) didn't help either (one of the "technique" I hate most on a novel) and worst is the main story isn't even good.

I'm at 40th chapter and you're telling me that nothing really change even after they reunite in 70th (ugh)? Yoyo is among the most boring heroine I've read yet. :/

Katsuragi stopped the kiss, and Nanamin said that for now she'll settle with being important.... So, does she plan to slowly crawl into the waifu position, starting from friends? :heh: I'm guessing that she isn't going to be neither accepted nor rejected until we know who her "loved one" is (didn't she had that rumored childhood friend or something?).

- Since Katsuragi is the Yuusha of the magic race, that means that from the Human race perspective, he was the Maoh that the heroes had to defeat all along, it's hinted that the human goddess was aware of this from the get go. So, the class was recruited due to their ability to hate him? :heh: Also, that puts a lot of the previous dialog in new perspective (like, the ikemen bully being 100% certain that he was going to meet the maoh in the fire dungeon, for example).

- The current arc presented the possibility of Katsuragi meeting (& unsealing) the magic race goddess. Can she be counted in the harem already? :heh:

The only thing I don't like is that, with Juri, they gave each other hearts too easily. I would understand her becoming loyal to him, but I think she fell in love too easily. And he gave in to her too easily. Damn, she's your slave already and you're out for revenge against your former classmates. Just promising her not to abandon her was enough, there was no need to make her your girlfriend (and destroy your chances to get and bang any new girl whenever you feel like it). Or when he got the best friend he should have made it clear that he will do whatever he wants with his girls but that she will remain number 1

Edit: after a little more reading (Tamaki succed the galge, Juri failed twice), I'm even more convinced that it's been too easy for Juri and she doesn't deserve to be "the only one"

Not far yet but so far it's hilarious, A hardcore magic geek who also happen to be a 200 years hikikomori immortal grand wizard, Rihido, stepped out of his isolated tower and saved a young lady by chance, his only intention is to learn new magic developed for the last 200 years (he was reading book about magic for the last 200 years and only came out after he's done). Hearing there's magic school (who, Micene, the young lady, also happen to attend there) he follow along Micene back to school after her break is over. Being told that it's impossible to immediately enter the school without recommendation letter he summon a giant bird to go around the world asking recommendation from his old friends. What he said to the people who was speechless after seeing it (Micene and her servants) : "What, aside from his size he's just a normal bird. Though he sometimes brawl with dragon" which of course is tsukkomi'ed with "There's no normal bird who pick a fight with dragon!" :heh:

The school is very surprised to see the recommendation letter, which came from Forest Elves Queen, Dragon Tribe King, Magic Tribe King, Demon Tribe King and Spirit Tribe King (talk about overkill lol, and those aren't even all of them because Rihido does not want the school to doubt him if it's too many), assembled all the teacher to discuss this, they initially doubt the letter legitimacy but one of the teacher is a half elves and son of the elves queen and he can vouch that the queen letter is true. After examining the letter by specialist of each tribe they still can't determine it however it's clear that each letter contain enormous magic power thus if they reject it when it's true then the consequences will be disastrous too.

Thus they decided to test him, well this result in him summoning the Spirit King lol, but since not many of the teacher understand what happened since the spirit king only looks like a very dazzling light (except that it has enormous magic power), Rihido realize his blunder shoot out a magic toward the sky which broke the barrier in first try, the barrier which was supposed to protect the training facility and can't be broken with just a single hit. After some shenanigan he finally got accepted at hogwartmagic school.

But as it turn out each of the old pal he asked for the letter send their daughter to the same school after they receive the news and it looks like they're all going to be his harem, at least the demon lord daughter seems to be as far as I've read.

Unfortunately, after the light novel debut the WN is removed from syosetsu but the webarchive still has up to 92 (mini) chapter and no one scanned the light novel raw...

Labyrinth of the abyss　～神々の迷宮～ (http://ncode.syosetu.com/n2772ca/) is back after it started looking like it was dropped. Turned out the author got into a car accident. It's the one with the bare hand martial art and dungeon crawling. Not sure if any of you followed it, but its worth checking out.

My new read is 灰色の勇者は人外道を歩み続ける (http://ncode.syosetu.com/n0709cd/). It's currently sitting at #1 on the daily rankings. Basic summary is 12 people are summoned to another world to become heroes(standard), but the protagonist gets screwed over. Turns out god is a bit of a bastard. His summoning is thrown awry and he lands in the biggest hell-hole in that world. As the title suggests, he is going to become super-overpowered there(which we are already seeing a beginning of).

What I liked was a rather realistic and canny protagonist (he cheats god at dice when it becomes obvious that the god was going to interfere in the toss, that's ballsy), and his growth taking a decent amount of time. It takes him a year of constant training even with his cheats to even be able to leave his hidey-hole, and he is still one of the weakest things there. Unfortunately, just after finishing his prologue it switched over to a prologue for the other 11 heroes, which just isn't as good. It's taking too long especially when it was just getting the good part.

There are only hints of the women being interested in him (even the maid btw) so far no real advance from them yet, he mostly act like a wise man but can creepily geeks out if it has anything to do with magic he doesn't know. Everyone who have seen his magic know he's the real deal, he make no real effort in hiding them.

Actually everytime he fight he got very excited in trying and seeing different magic (because he didn't have any chance to try out some magic he learned in 200 years hikikomori-ing) lol

Not far yet but so far it's hilarious, A hardcore magic geek who also happen to be a 200 years hikikomori immortal grand wizard, Rihido, stepped out of his isolated tower and saved a young lady by chance, his only intention is to learn new magic developed for the last 200 years (he was reading book about magic for the last 200 years and only came out after he's done). Hearing there's magic school (who, Micene, the young lady, also happen to attend there) he follow along Micene back to school after her break is over. Being told that it's impossible to immediately enter the school without recommendation letter he summon a giant bird to go around the world asking recommendation from his old friends. What he said to the people who was speechless after seeing it (Micene and her servants) : "What, aside from his size he's just a normal bird. Though he sometimes brawl with dragon" which of course is tsukkomi'ed with "There's no normal bird who pick a fight with dragon!" :heh:

The school is very surprised to see the recommendation letter, which came from Forest Elves Queen, Dragon Tribe King, Magic Tribe King, Demon Tribe King and Spirit Tribe King (talk about overkill lol, and those aren't even all of them because Rihido does not want the school to doubt him if it's too many), assembled all the teacher to discuss this, they initially doubt the letter legitimacy but one of the teacher is a half elves and son of the elves queen and he can vouch that the queen letter is true. After examining the letter by specialist of each tribe they still can't determine it however it's clear that each letter contain enormous magic power thus if they reject it when it's true then the consequences will be disastrous too.

Thus they decided to test him, well this result in him summoning the Spirit King lol, but since not many of the teacher understand what happened since the spirit king only looks like a very dazzling light (except that it has enormous magic power), Rihido realize his blunder shoot out a magic toward the sky which broke the barrier in first try, the barrier which was supposed to protect the training facility and can't be broken with just a single hit. After some shenanigan he finally got accepted at hogwartmagic school.

But as it turn out each of the old pal he asked for the letter send their daughter to the same school after they receive the news and it looks like they're all going to be his harem, at least the demon lord daughter seems to be as far as I've read.

Unfortunately, after the light novel debut the WN is removed from syosetsu but the webarchive still has up to 92 (mini) chapter and no one scanned the light novel raw...

Well his default looks is a man in his twenties, then he changed it to teens. The schools seems to be around high school level too so there's no loli (sadly) there.

The greatest wizard who become god himself. Mastered every magic, his strongest magic, the fusion of all great element magic, obliterate his enemy to nothingness. (*though, the strongest character in the series is hold by his daughter, Nergal)

He doesn't realize it himself but he is actually a genius and good at many things. His unique skill allow him to use cards that can do many things: summoning meteor storm, kill enemy instantly, etc.

- Hiyuki (Barairo Yume)
Sure, "she" may be frail and not at stellar as the other protagonist, but "she" is known to be the fastest among "her' peers. What's more, once "she" is possessed with one of "her" familiars, that's when "she" will show you how sharp a rose thorn can be.

- Kite Stavinoa (The other oneself)
His magic is already on the level of "granting wish", rivaling the god. On a same rank as Marius.

- Ichinose Makoto (Build Error)
A tanker with very high defense, and can use damage heal which bypass any magic protection. Plus he also has the ability to control time.

- Nakamura Shinichi (Kaette Fantasy!?)
On the paper, this guy is the weakest, but once he don his mask, this guy become the most dangerous assassin, who single-handedly infiltrate the demon lord castle and assassinate the big boss.

- Yard Werner (Majutsu Yuuyousei)
Nerd and a researcher is the image of this guy. But trust me, this is the guy who will become the next "Zero" with his mind control magic and play around with your memories. Aside from that, he is also very excellent at logistical and communication magic. Lastly, he also has destructive magics in his sleeve (although it's magic circle type).

The only one I see being "translated" in that list is Yuusha Inkyoshita. Theres only 2 chapters I'm aware of that is translated. Anyway the stongest MC in all that I've read is Yuli/Yulli? lol His own master is training to kill him.

This is a beautiful story of curse pulling the fate, making miracles and pushing the destiny. The emotion really overflow in this one, like a bittersweet chocolate, sometimes it's bitter looking at bad things that happened to the character but the next bite, it's so sweet that you also cheer along (Even I sometime squeal). The pace itself move with smooth speed, cutting unnecesary progress, concise sentence with room to imagine and great focus on main plot, resulting in expectation of the next chapter without having to worry about filler or dragging out. The contents basically are generic with templates like adventure, battle, discrimination, and midway there's heroes summoning, yet the story managed to keep this element somewhat interesting. All in all, this one is engaging story to read, I assure you that after taking a look at this one, you will really enjoy it.

What I really like from this story, is the characters, the chemistry between each of them are great with funny dialogue, like a self-styled yandere who actually......not yandere, or violent fathercon, etc. And then, the lovey-dovey part, is like ramming your face to a bowl of sugar. The battle scene is quite good, especially if you like OP character. Read and see how OP Dran is!

Unlike most narou titles that moves freely aiming to enjoy life to the fullest, Mikoto doesn't have this composure, at most he can hope is living normally and happily as he can. And to do that he has to reshape his chipped personality. This is that kind of story, make peace and reconcile with people close to you, learn new things and meet with new people, repeat to the good end. But the story doesn't go that easy, just when the story is sailing toward a happy days, midway storm struck and he realize that the grace inside him (his ability) holds more meaning than what he thought. As a reference, think of "a series of unfortunate events", add battle and fantasy to it to get the whole picture. Promising potential, and the battle scenes are fiery as well. A little bit minus is the irregular update.

Suddenly 4 hole appearad and black chain came out from each of it, binding the headmaster. It is then revealed that Kurohiko just recite an incantation of "Forbidden Art", an art which is extremely powerful from legend. Apparently, no one has been able to decipher the content of the scroll, which makes Kurohiko the only current Forbidden Spellcaster. Sparked by this, the headmaster offer Kurohiko to attend the academy.

Entertainment, quite generic actually and so-so, not that bad, not that good either. Still interesting though. I don't have the complain with how Shota Kurohiko is in the art, but indeed it's hard to imagine him in near-death fight(a cute type usually find in Visual Novel CG). One annoyance that I found is about Kurohiko, being a dense, kind guy, he is... uhh, how do I put it, indecisive when it's about romance, which only adds trouble. However, when in battle, his determination deserve a praise and I give him that.

Straightforward story that is simple to understand. what? no charm? Don't get disheartened like that, it may look shallow but the simplicity is actually the story biggest charm point, amazingly it can keep the quality of the story consistent until latter part. It's like playing a game where it's expansions makes the story even more interesting. "Introduce your own interesting blend of story", this one success at it and I enjoy it so much. Definitely a story to relax, not to fuss about like in serious literature.

Princess *cough* Hiyuki *cough* is the big reason I like this story, the small reason, is because the story is interesting. I quicly hooked up reading this and finished in no time. A shoujo fantasy battle story with both light and medium depth of story plus various deep-flavored character (although most of them are Hiyuki-centrist), It is a bid tad short though, and could go for another dozen of chapters, too bad~

Too fast in development, which is unnatural... considering this has big potential (not because I'm a lolicon), it's kind of a letdown.

I've read Mythical Spirit Chronicle ~On this world where I met you~. While Lio/Rio can be pretty awesome occasionally, but I have to agree that it reads like a shoujo. The emphasis he places on the childhood friend in his thoughts is just unnatural and really kind of debilitating as a character. Also the encounters with other girls are straight cliches from women's romances, like saving his cousin(?) from rape or rescuing the teacher from an unwanted arranged marriage. Not that those things don't happen sometimes in shounen/sienen, but it really felt like the author was just trying to write a character girls would like.

Overall impressions was it was something to read when I really have nothing else to do, but not something I would recommend to people with similar interests.

I was pretty uninterested when I started it going off the title I expected it to be pretty terrible, though it was surprisingly interesting. The writing isn't all built around the slave harem like the title would have you believe.

Though the characters can be a bit shallow in personality at times the world system is like an exact duplicate of Ragnarok Online and the MC basically enters a VR world of Ragnarok Online with the ability to reset his stats freely and an initial 99 bonus stat points.

The MC isn't game savy so I was screaming at him at times on how inefficient his methods were at gaming, but he learns how to make the most of the job system, skill points, etc... from scratch through the story trial and error.

The way he wasn't perfect at it in a way kept me interested throughout, while he was learning the system of that world, how to use his initial "cheat" bonus points when resetting his stats/job and then leveling up to gain more points to spend.

The job system is similar to RO, first jobs, second jobs, etc... then after you reach XX level you can gain advanced jobs, there's also a monster card system for granting stats/skills to weapons/armor/accessories, and the cards are very similar to RO as well.

The pace was good and even after reading all there is for now I still want more...

Yeah, his updates do seem to be a bit slow, it starts in 2011 and 205 chapters over 3~ years, for now I'll probably put reading updates on hold, luckily the chapters here don't have cliffhangers.

The card and job system is the same as RO http://rune-nifelheim.com/item/4091/ I remember grinding cards in that game so much... It was quite nostalgic.

I can't remember all the details from RO, I think the chances of success in the real thing were different, so on that end the 100% success stuff was a bit OP, but otherwise a lot of the weapons are similar to the ones from RO as well.

The 99 bonus points aren't actually all that OP even for the real thing, the most OP aspects are the extra skills and weapons he can get with them and the fact that he can switch jobs freely. Otherwise the job and stat system is pretty close to RO.

Multiple jobs is common in RO as well, though getting up to 7 jobs is h4x, it costs more than half of his bonus points though...

He gets his first harem member (slave) around chapter 30, he buys slaves as "sex slaves" for all but the final member. So, they are bought knowing what kind of situation they're in, though he actually treats slaves as people unlike the people of that world, so they generally like him well.

There's roughly 30-50 chapters between when he buys each slave, since he has to earn money and he builds up a good bit of familiarity with each of them as he goes. Since he treats his slaves as equals/family they generally like him.

There's a lot of pretty "cruel" stuff in the world, like the treatment of some slaves, in order to unlock the magician class you basically have to take a "self destruct" medicine as a child and if you're lucky and survive you can become one so it's a common practice, killing thieves or people within your family for dishonoring them is basically done casually. Baths and soap are things only rich nobles use so the culture of the world is pretty low.

The MC kills a bunch of thieves at the start of the story and while he does panic a bit after realizing it's reality and not a game, he basically comes to terms with it and kills thieves/people who threaten his safety as needed.

Roxanne: first slave, a wolf race girl, they start off as mutual virgins and he doesn't even have a house when he buys her, he's living in an inn. She's surprised over his strength and how well he treats her so she ends up basically totally falling for him over time. She is the main heroine and something like his knight.

The slave system can be setup so if the owner dies the slaves die with them, it can also be setup so the slaves are freed on the owners death if the slaves are trusted, though she basically swears to die together with him, and is considered his head slave. Most of his other slaves are set to be freed if he dies though she insists on dying with him.

Seri: The second slave he buys is a dwarf, he needed a blacksmith to craft things and infuse equipment with monster cards, so he ended up buying her, rather than the usual image of a dwarf the description describes her more as the loli character, she's also the researcher who knows lots of things and a bit of a tsundere.

Miria: The third slave is a catgirl, she can't speak the language of the MC, so she basically has to interpret through Roxanne, she basically doesn't mind anything as long as you feed her fish.

Buesta/Vesta?: The fourth slave is a dragon race girl that is like 2 meters tall and becomes a dragon knight, both her parents were slaves so she basically lived her entire life as a slave, her personality is pretty tempered around that so she is quite moved by the good treatment of her master.

Rutina/Lutina: The final slave is a magician elf, and a fallen noble, I won't ruin how she ends up as is slave since it has plot relevance, but she wasn't bought as a sex slave. (She basically ends up as one though just going with the flow of the other slaves). She wants revenge on the nobles and doesn't really dislike the MC since she gains a lot of advantages in terms of strength and levels when she joins his party.

Not sure if this has been been recommended or not, but サモナーさんが行く (http://ncode.syosetu.com/n4908bv) is pretty decent. It's basically your standard VRMMO story(without the whole death game or inability to log out) written like a daily log. Protagonist is a summoner class who fights like a grappler/warrior instead of a mage, although he can do that too.

The problem is it can kind of drag in parts. It details practically everything, even when it would be smoother to just move things along. There is some kind of vague suspicious activity with the group who runs the VRMMO since they don't seem to have enough users to support service, but we still have no idea what is up 350 chapters in. Neither do we know why the protagonist can play so long each day, though I'm guessing he is recently handicapped or something since he doesn't seem much like a NEET. That's purely a guess though.

Not for everyone, but I liked it and it updates daily(which makes up for its slow pace).

He has friends, including two women summoners who occasionally accompany him, but neither of them seem to be love interests. There's also one woman archer that embarrassed him when he tried to use a grappling takedown during a pvp tournament(by making it seem like he was some kind of molester). She has tried to "defeat" him a couple times since, with some hint of being tsundere. Nothing has really been made of it yet.

It's mostly just his attempts to go around soloing and level his stable of monsters.

I want to read these awesome novels but i can't understand either MT or Japanese. I know MT is pointless so i will learn Japanese but i don't know where to start. Any advice will help greatly.
I finished Hiragana/Katakana and very few Kanji (it's so hard :( ). Someone said learning Kana and basic grammar then using Rikka for unknown Kanjis will do it, so;
1) Where can i find source for grammar and what level will suffice for most novels?
2) Is there a site/app for converting Kanji to Kana or Romaji?
3) Approximately how many months will take for avarage person to be able to read most of novels without tools help?

Also other advices will help greatly, thanks in advance :bow:

Oh I am guessing it is the goddess whom he met in soul form in the first few chapters when his human body was sleeping.

For now I haven't really seen the MC in a serious fight. I see him use his dragon senses and body strengthening magic when fighting. Guess his true power will be seen in the future chapters.

I have to admit I skipped through a good number of dungeon mob fights. After a while it felt kind of repetitive like running into random encounter battles in a FF or Pokemon game. Just skip straight to the point where items drop and it's all good.

A lot of the enjoyment on my end was the RO elements probably, I played RO quite a bit in the past and the read was nostalgic on that end.

Other than that, I didn't feel there was much of a purpose to the series as a whole, it was more like an adventure slice of life with RPG elements. The MC doesn't really want to return home he's just exploring the world, leveling up, making a living, expanding his harem, and learning how to abuse his infinite resets in the RO ripoff world mechanics.

If you enjoy the first 30-40 chapters or so you'll enjoy the whole thing, but if you don't you probably won't enjoy it at all.


Edit: Hmm I only just realized it as well, but the multiple jobs aspect, and the 20x rates things, a lot of the MCs cheat key with his reset is exactly the same as free server cheats. The free servers offered different experience rates from 1x to 20x or higher, different level caps, and advanced jobs, etc... his OP cheat is kind of like he's in a free server world, lol.

It wasn't just the lack of purpose that turned me off. Only Sense Online is slice-of-lifey, too, (and gamey) and I love the living crap out of that one. Slave Harem's execution is just that bad. Take when he notices he's not in a game world and he's murdered the bandits. There's a short Oh Crap moment, then he decides he's quite alright with it after all and it never comes up again. BOOORING. The MC was just a vehicle to show the world mechanics, move from one place to another and buy a slave, not a proper person. I wasn't happy with the first slave, either.

there's that, and then, i was wondering, why the kind of novel that is recommended here is rarely seen in western fantasy literature with main theme of reborn, transported, or even combining fantasy with sci-fi elements (there's hell's gate by david webber, and that's that)?

the one i do found that involves some sort of fantasy/time travel/reborn/transported/any of those combined are mostly targeted to female audiences, in which the story usually has hard gay male MC, or submissive underwear model male if the lead mc are female.
this is good for female audiences or for those that like that sort of stuff.

while the more traditional fantasy genre now falls into the generic grimdark, or save the world, or a rogue, which after a while it kinda boring, sure there's some good one, which while using the same template manage to introduce something fresh, like the kingkiller chronicle (basically grimdark voodoo harry potter with badass OP), stormlight archive (storm is used to recharge your money, and op is superman, and it's trying to revive the JLA), and quite a few more.

but that's it, it only revolves on the same old high-fantasy, sometimes they introduce guns and cannon and warfare like the one you would find in napoleon era (powder mage trilogy).

i kinda miss old fantasy like john carter of mars and conan the barbarian where the story is interesting and without the need to focus about realism, politically correct, or any other convoluted stuff.

I hope he will learn to make enchanted object (by engraving a kind of program in it to absorb the magic in the air/in the holder and transform it for a specific application, kinda like "Sword and Magic"). I look forward to his growth.

Yeah came across his OP strength when he was fighting the leader of the demon army and similarly when fighting the vampires. In spite of losing power due to reincarnation his power level is in a different dimension.

I liked the parts where the people who know his true identity talk to him with the utmost respect. One was the leader of the Demon army and the best was the water Dragon King. She was trembling when facing him. Well it is a given since he was present when she was a child and had to console her when she accidently burnt herself due to the presence of other powerful dragons.

Other interesting characters are the crimson dragon whom he tutors and is rebellious and the daughter of the water Dragon king. It would be great if they come in their draconian form to where he lives as a human.

From being a Mighty Dragon to a Puny Human (that still possess incredible powers/abilities) ... I do understand how that dragon feels..probably because of the various reference materials I've read..living a very long life can get dull not to mention if you've made friends along the way of the time only to see them die leaving yourself the only one remembering them. To be honest, it is a boring way for a Dragon, who's strength rivals that of gods and demon lords, to end his life. I've live for a very long time. My brethren who roams the world along my side eons ago surely have not meet their end yet.

I'm feeling relax and ready for the end. It a strange feeling, one that not many Dragons feel toward death.

Oh, God Of Death, may you guide my soul to the sea of soul, and grant me eternal sleep. Otherwise, prepare yourself and your hell, to be engulf in my raging fiery Flame! I thought.

"Hmm...Hmm.." <--He's humming? I think.

And so I hum. Actually, that was not suppose to be mutter aloud and it shouldn't be since Dragons' tongue cannot produce such a sound. We cannot communicate via sound speech, but through our mind. <--Something like "think it to say it" magic? telepathy would also fit the description.

What the hell? I thought.

In front of me is a pair of leg they are small and bare.

It took me a few minutes, then I realize that those are my legs. I, who is suppose to be drifting in the sea of soul forever, have just been born again, presumably as a human.

why...why.....Why am I alive, again?

Will my brother be looking forward to my birth? I will surely steal his spot-light in the family.

I was once born as a Dragon, this time, it will be as human. Should I be born as a human and live a life as one, will I betray the expectation my family have for me? Even though I am old, ancient, I admit that I am insecure about family. The main reason is probably due to the fact that I have never had a family.

Fumu. Apparently, I've been reincarnated into a world where science and magic have not been thoroughly developed yet.

It feel uncomfortable and very difficult to make movement inside such a cramp space. How do babies live with this for mine months? Right now, my physical form is but a fetus floating inside amniotic fluid but my mind is that of a mighty dragon.

As a normal fetus, there is absolutely nothing it can do inside here, but I am no normal fetus, already I've done the impossible at such a physical state, thinking.

Even through I reincarnated, I can definitely felt that part of my soul is damage. It's not to the extend where my life will be in danger, it is far from it. However, it is definitely noticeable.

It have been several months since I realize that I am a fetus inside of a human women's belly. It won't be too long until the day I will be born into this world as a human baby. Will life have it's purpose?

The thought of decadence and resignation from living continue to fill my mind. I wonder if my mind would be freed from these negative thought. I continue to think inside the women who is my mom-to-be.

Not long after, my human mother finally give birth to me, a strong healthy human baby.

As the water being wipe across my eyes, I force them to open and take a look around with my unfocused eyes.

Right now, there is still little I could do and so, being held by my mother is what I will enjoy.

I am not sure if it the fact that we are related by blood but right now, I experience a mysterious feeling I've never felt before. What human call "Family Bond." (Family love, love in general)

I am the oldest of the Dragons. I have neither Mother nor Father. There were no one that fit to be call parent for me. There were those who I can call brothers and sisters, but it is only in a sense.

Therefore.

For me who have been reborn as a human. I've receive warmth from my current parents and never was I ever feel as peace as now.

I was tired of long life, and choose to be kill by brave men. Instead of giving me eternal sleep. This have led me to experience the warmth of a family. I can't say that I am grateful toward my killers, but...Thank you.

Anyway, how bad can this be? Living a life as a human, and shoulder their hardship and struggles. This should be interesting.

the problem here is roughly the main reason for the MTL drama, I.E the weakness of MTL, if you continue to translate, i suggest you remember that MTL is extremely bad against probability and multiple action grammar.

which in this case:
思い返せばこの様に落ち着いた心持ちで空を見上げる事も久しい。
Looking up at the calm sky for so long however, makes me want to reconsider it.
思い返せば is a conditional grammar, roughly translate as If you look back, if you think again, etc... this is part of the main phrase.

now this is the problem that must be corrected :
この様に落ち着いた心持ちで this entire thing is support for the action 空を見上げる事 and the entire この様に落ち着いた心持ちで空を見上げる事 is the subject for も久し .

which would led to the actual translation somewhere along this line:
If i think back about it, it was long since i have a calm sensation like this looking at the sky.

like i said, the main problem here lies in the main and support clause, which is already enough of a headache for Japanese learner to avoid it, but the MTL is very bad in dealing with them.

well like i said, if you using MTL as assistance for more than Kanji and Vocabulary, remember that they are very bad in dealing with probability, multiple clause( actually this is a hit or miss, sometimes they actually great at this, but other just terrible).

So, a guy and his female friend were walking in the street when magic circles appeared below them, white light and found themselves in the wilderness near a forest.
Shortly after, they are attacked by a demonic horse. Guy protect the girl from the beast first attack, and realise the best is too fast and decide to act as the decoy so the girl can run away. So he gets the attention of the beast with a stone and when it's about to attack, a male warrior run out of the forest to tank the beast, followed and supported by a male archer and a female fire mage.
So they are saved. They hide the fact that they are from another world. The trio of adventurers take them to town a offer them the money to register at the adventurer guild. To be an adventurer, one must be able to wield magic, so when they are tested, it appears they have first class magic potential (the girl is multi attributes, the guy is unknown attribute). Because they are rare talents, the guild master send them to a friend who would be their teacher.
Wjen they get to the house of the teacher, they are greeted by a young girl who isn'y happy to see people and who doesn't want to take the introduction letter into consideration. She act like she is the master, but turn out she is just a pupil herself. When the master show herself, she is...lightly dressed. The guy got KOed by his female friend (obviously it's his fault that he was shown something attractive suddenly). So the master accept to take them as disciple for 3 months (after which they have to go back in town because an adventurer con't spend more than 3 months without taking requests).
The girl is a genius (she was what you call an honor student) because of her knowledge in science, which make her improve the magics she is taugh, and the guy, who was a muscle brain, is a rare kind that can develop their own unique magic, and who has the highest amount of magic ever seen (unrivaled).
Though they wanted to hide that they are from a differnt world, they had to tell the truth (mostly because of the girl muttering things from their world during the lessons due to her excitment). One part of their goal is to find the one who summoned them.
3 months passed, they made big progress (more than what the master though they would) and go back to the town to start their lives as adventurers

Alright got until the end of tony's summary, it's a good read! I like MC personality, he act like his age but mature enough not to be annoying, so does the heroines, even other NPC are quite good, seems like the author put some thinking before he writes their dialogues. The story is still at very early part but it's pretty good so far, gonna continue on. :D

Well f, author tried to make some drama by dumping sudden fake ntr chapters out of nowhere. Even though I know it wouldn't happen it's still really annoying with that chapter break timing, for the sake of teh drama.

That certainly made my impression of the author considerably lower.

I droped this one because the MC got ridiculously OP and is ridiculously getting stronger!!
For me, OP MC are fine if there is a good reason they got OP.
But here, it's ridiculous, super forced. The way he get new skills is ridiculously easy (except for magic, which is nice since he learns from studying a book).
So I dropped it.
But the fight with the demon was nice!!!

well IMO its not force OP coz his abilty is "easy mode game character".
even thought its easy mode he cant acquire unique skill in god territory (currently).
like he cant get another hero / reincarnate person / transport person unique skill.

i think its fair deal coz transport person or reincarnate person got god blessing in random and he only got limited god blessing (3x use meteor rain).
and his skill point still have limit plus he cant reset the skill point like reincarnate person or hero (its god blessing).

another noticeable theme is "touring in different world" so it wont become touring if the MC not OP

Even with easy mode game character, that metor rain power is off the chart since it pretty much wiped out all kind of monsters in at least a whole country (and he got an amazing amount of loot and amazing titles, and an amazing amount of XP and skill points)
... And he can use it 3 times a day. Sorry but this is no longer just easy mode. This is impossible road to OP.

A real easy game character would start with a bonus in skill points, money, equipment and growth speed (XP amount), + his easy skill acquisition (1-2 action learning).
That meteor rain X3 is just plain retarted, and I really can't imagine a guy working on a MMO put such a ridiculous skill to a beginner character.


Aside from that I started "Chodokyu superheavy Golem battleship Hyuga", and I like it. Things are nice, and start to get really interesting in the 3rd arc (which I just started). Thanks a lot for this recommandation.

It looks like I've been mostly reading WNs about different world trip (summon/reincarnation/accident) with fantasy setting.
I think it's about time I start looking for things in "current world & current timeline" or "current world & future timeline" (better if it is sci-fi), with action and romance (and ecchi/harem would be a really nice bonus).
If you already know a WN along those lines on ncode please tell me (except for VR games & MMO. If it's "present time" or "near future" I'd rather avoid things which takes place mostly in a highschool or highschool-like place).

Day Dreamer of Ma-ken (which I'm sure is mistranslated, but w/e) is pretty good. MC can be kind of childish, but he is a fun level of overpowered. It also helps that it's another true harem. None of that 10+ volumes without going anywhere. He gets with the "legal wife" character pretty early.

Even with easy mode game character, that metor rain power is off the chart since it pretty much wiped out all kind of monsters in at least a whole country (and he got an amazing amount of loot and amazing titles, and an amazing amount of XP and skill points)
... And he can use it 3 times a day. Sorry but this is no longer just easy mode. This is impossible road to OP.

A real easy game character would start with a bonus in skill points, money, equipment and growth speed (XP amount), + his easy skill acquisition (1-2 action learning).
That meteor rain X3 is just plain retarted, and I really can't imagine a guy working on a MMO put such a ridiculous skill to a beginner character.


Aside from that I started "Chodokyu superheavy Golem battleship Hyuga", and I like it. Things are nice, and start to get really interesting in the 3rd arc (which I just started). Thanks a lot for this recommandation.

It looks like I've been mostly reading WNs about different world trip (summon/reincarnation/accident) with fantasy setting.
I think it's about time I start looking for things in "current world & current timeline" or "current world & future timeline" (better if it is sci-fi), with action and romance (and ecchi/harem would be a really nice bonus).
If you already know a WN along those lines on ncode please tell me (except for VR games & MMO. If it's "present time" or "near future" I'd rather avoid things which takes place mostly in a highschool or highschool-like place).

Finally got up to volume 3 epilogue (ch 78) of 異世界チート魔術師. Looks like the author got terrible feedbacks from his shitty fake ntr drop (my guess) that he stopped trying to write any significant romantic moment/drama anymore lol, it's been hectic moment after hectic moment, it was honestly pretty good.

MC is very OP but the author still succeed on making every major battle don't seem too easy, though sometimes MC seems like he got brainfart and things got screwed up, it all turned out for the best (for deus ex machina power up to commence).

Utilizing the system of status and skill, Kanami is set to conquer the deepest part of the labyrinth, all to return to his home world.

This work is covered with a simple synopsis akin to a canvas with a single color of black on it. When I first read the synopsis, it's just "well, maybe worth a try..." and I was expecting the usual cliches and tropes found in narou. And what I got? staring into the darkness of the black, I can't take my eyes off from it... yup, an addiction, this works has a charm to it that I cannot explain.

Is it the charm of heroic story where protagonist become a hero?
is it the charm of romance where heroines are individualistic?
is it the charm of an epic where developments are filled with adrenaline?

Nah, the charm cannot be expressed in catchphrases like that. First off, Protagonist Kanami is emotionally unstable... he, a young man who can be described as ordinary, suddenly in an unknown place where he doesn't know right and left, nor the memories of how he got there. Still in his puzzlement, he soon encountered humans, chased by monster. These people is suspicious of him, and so they make Kanami a bait for the monster, and of course, the monster attacked him. attacked by both sides, he soon succumb into a state of hysteria and at this time an unknown skill activated forcing him to calm down his emotion so he can survive through this predicament. Later after he survived (also throwing up from his first killing), he learn that he indeed, is in another world. Not knowing way back to his own world, failed to found a safe way to earn lots of money, trauma from entering the dungeon, world of violence, world where slaves are normal, etc, etc...

every time things happen, his mind would start to get into disorder and the skill would activate, forcing him to kill his emotion, which fuel his instability. Later Kanami would meet people who are also as problematic as him... A noble girl who takes interest to Kanami, and seems to hide more...darkness behind her eyes; a girl who cross dressed as a boy dreaming to become a great swordsman despite her talent is more on the magic side; A slave girl who lost her memories; a monster girl who yearn for love

A series of surging emotion, wishes, suffering, disorder, irrationality, doubt, mission, lingering regret, happiness, despair, dream, past, comrades, scheme, nobles, all of these things are tangled in this black story... This is a story of a Randolf, a young knight who one day met with a mercenary from another world, getting saved by him and then became his aide. Together they then struggle through many events: resolving internal conflict, taking over the kingdom, wages war with another nation, etc, etc.

It's Modern Military in the world of swords and magic. As a fan of war chronicle and record, I found this one quite satisfying, although the narration of story sometimes spoiled the mood a bit (spoiler beware!). Nevertheless It's more than I can ask reading this (I mean, 1500+ chapters and batch update of 7 chapters or so monthly and it still ongoing).

P.S. While the story tells about the mercenary king, the story is told from the perspective of Randolf.

P.S.S. If you read this one, author sometimes put a character profile between the story, and I suggest you to skip it, as it contain a synopsis of that person history, which mean heavy spoiler!!

Read through the first two web volumes (first three published volumes) and a little bit of the third volume for Re: Zero Kara Hajimaru Isekai Seikatsu/Ｒｅ：ゼロから始める異世界生活 (http://ncode.syosetu.com/n2267be/)/Re: Life in Another World from Zero. Figured I'd give a detailed opinion on it.

Setting: Subaru, somewhat delinquent Japanese highschooler, is suddenly and randomly in another world while coming back from a convenience store. He runs into thugs not even 5 minutes in and is saved by a silver-haired girl. He decides to do everything he can to help her, when he dies in the process and comes back to the same starting point, and keeps trying to save her.

Subaru:
The protagonist. Revives at a certain point in the past upon death, how this point is set is unknown but it can "update" or "save" or whatever.
Falls in love with Emilia after she saves him from three thugs in an alley and spends the entire first novel getting killed just to learn her real name (she gave him a fake one on his first life).
I don't if the author hates result from hard work or what, but nearly every character is far stronger than the protagonist and were born with some combination of abnormal talent, magic, blessing, or strength.
The only real progress or development Subaru has is slowly learning how to write the new language. And his cleaning skills improve. Otherwise, he actually gets even weaker as time goes on.
He does seem to handle pain better as it goes on. He's completely useless and more than not makes things worse, and somehow still freezes up at stupid times you wouldn't expect of someone who's died 8 times, fairly horribly for at least 6 of them.
He has some character progression after like the 6-7th death, but spends that life getting over it and goes right back to normal. So he really hasn't changed from the start of the novel despite the life-changing everything.
He realizes his weakness is screwing him over at many points, yet doesn't actually try to get stronger. It's certainly a new way to do things, I suppose.
Occasionally shows signs it affecting him, but quickly gets over it, one time in particular due to Emilia giving him a lap pillow and another from Pack talking with him.
He isn't allowed to try to mention his ability to revive or time will freeze, black arms will come out and make him feel intense mental pain. This seems connected to the Jealous Witch, the presumable "big bad" of the series.
He learns he's affiliated with "dark" (debuff) magic, but is told that even if he trains for his life, he'll always be crap at it. When he tries magic, it also turns out he can't control it, and can only use all his mana with one big blinding cloud that hits him too. Can't move after, so it's useless.
He often acts extremely childish, and is fittingly treated like a child by Emilia. He doesn't like it when she does, but he really, really deserves it.
Despite no matter how many times he seems to die, he's always afraid to die the next time. He claims it's just something he can't get used to.

For a story tagged "serious," I'd actually call it at least 80% silly. The protag usually plays around, makes jokes no one understands, and hits on Emilia to always no avail.
He usually gets a little serious when he's about to die or after he dies, but he really could use more characterization. Has the usual protagonist bad luck of getting into a lot of crap.
I think he's average to above average for a protagonist, compared to the bland and lacking a personality ones. He's not courageous, smart, clever, and certainly isn't strong. He's energetic, optimistic, and can sometimes make a fun remark here and there. That's about it.

Emilia:
Half-elf with long silver hair. A little over a 100 years old. Main heroine. One of the contenders to be the next king.
She's pretty consistent, and often acts like an older sister or mother to Subaru. She's a spirit/elemental user but outside of that, isn't actually very competent or knowledgeable.
She's a light tsundere in that at first she'll never claim to do good deeds for the sake of a good deed, always coming up with an obvious excuse that it's somehow for her benefit.
She's one of the least interesting characters in my opinion, but Subaru's obsessed with her. She's contracted to a high-ranking spirit called Pack, who acts like a self-proclaimed father and mother to her.
Alongside Pack, she can use ice magic (which is done through fire/heat magic) and healing magic. Spirit users have unlimited mana, since they use the mana outside their body.
Magic in the story is fairly overpowered. The only character shown to be able to fight or avoid magic without magic is the first volume antagonist, and said person has super strength, so it's actually hard to tell if that's actually true.
Got 10th in the recent MF Bunko J Summer Heroine Contest.

Pack:
Greater spirit contracted to Emilia, centuries old. Takes the form a small, cute grey cat.
Considered the wisest person of the main cast, but also the only one who who will play along with Subaru in random jokes/play and teasing Emilia.
Isn't fond of Subaru's advances on Emilia, but doesn't usually do anything to stop him besides being present.
Can use pretty much any magic it seems, can use telepathy when there's an immense "power difference" (so basically with only Subaru), and can vaguely read minds.
Likes to casually mention how strong he is to Subaru.
Only flaw he has is that he needs to "sleep".

Rem:
One of the twin Ogre maids, the blue-hair heroine one. Fans, including myself, tend to prefer her over Emilia, and the author was surprised at her popularity.
As an Ogre, when she has her horn out, she has immense strength, her horn sucks in mana, and her magic is increased. Has insane regen in Ogre mode. Only downside is it's easy to lose control of herself in this mode, and she'll go into happy-slaughter time.
She also uses a giant spiked-ball-and-chain as a "self-defense" weapon. Uses water magic, which is typically for healing.
While a kind of passive personality, she also has a self-persecution complex over her sister losing her horn in order to protect her. She's also quick to jump to conclusions and isn't good at thinking on her own outside of cooking.
She grows to like Subaru after a few incidents and is always seeking praise afterward. Is noted she's only loyal to her sister and later the protagonist.
In story, her chest is apparently slightly more developed than her older twin's, but the artist for the published version seems to have taken some liberties with that.
Got 8th in the recent MF Bunko J Summer Heroine Contest.

Ram:
One of the twin Ogre maids, older sister with pink hair version. She's extremely loyal to Rosuwaal.

She's somewhat haughty and a lazy maid, and tends to makes fun of the protagonist. Which really, he deserves.
Is easily the smarter twin.

Rosuwaal:
Emilia's patron, Subaru's employer, and Royal Court Magician. Can use the four primary elements of magic (fire, water, earth, wind) to a great extent.
Is known as a complete pervert, is generally overly playful and quick to make skin contact.
He calls Emilia, Ram, and Rem necessary pieces for his plan to kill the "dragon". Only Ram seems aware of this.
Often spends questionable nights in his office with Ram doing what would probably be considered intimate things, particularly with Ram blushing her face off all the while.
Only stronger magicians in the story introduced is Beatrice and probably Pack.

Should note that this isn't a harem. One girl so far where I'm at romantically likes the protag, and the protag likes a different girl who tries to act more like a mother or older sister to him.
Random points I like:
-Nothing in particular irks me about the writing style itself. This is a good point because of other novels I've been checking out. Sad, I know.
-Good setting and author seems to have a general idea of where he's going.
-First volume had good pacing.
-Subaru knows what he wants, which all revolves around Emilia.

-Typically, when a protag is weak compared to the cast, I expect him to be at least clever or something. Subaru relies on half-knowing the outcome and a lot of luck, and he still barely pulls through by getting half-killed anyway.
-Weak on the character development, particularly Subaru not changing too much after dying multiple times. He has a few moments where it shows, but I consider how little focus or hints it gets to be bad writing.
-It's quite a bit on the unserious side. Subaru will get into life-threatening situations (often due to his own stupidity or carelessness) and it'll be mostly played for laughs.

Because of all the things he saw/read about different world trip, he expected to have a cheat ability (well, he still got a little something)

The guy arrive in a different world, and try to identify his cheat ability, then tries to use magic just by saying a random spell name...
The guy though he could defeat a monster with a pocket knife because his physical ability improved, but the said monster only got down after 4 sec of machine gun fire (so you can imagine what would have happened to the guy if he actually tried to kill it in CQC with his punny knife...

... Authors like to give cheat abilities to their characters that travel to different worlds a little too much...
I want to see a story where a group of people are thrown in a different world, are expecting to have cheat abilities, but in fact didn't change one bit (not even the ability to use a spec of magic).

No magic ability, no cheat abilities, no game-like things (status, XP, skills, levels), no basic fighting ability (or maybe if 1 or 2 of them did a bit of martial arts), average (if not low) physical ability, no knowledge of the other world language.

I want to see how many of them would survive and how, in a world where they have to learn the language, most people can at least use a spec of magic, with monsters roaming the wilderness, and without getting above rank E at the adventurer guild because they will remain too weak (thus unable to raise their profit that way).

hmm if you want that kind of story there manga that nearly match, but there still no civilization. the tittle is "eden no ori" or "cage of eden".

i like it in early chapter but mood swing is too steep when battle with 20F guardian, his personality change 3x with just battling with 20F guardian CMIIW.
like i want to shout "coward or bravodo just pick one already", if its just 1x change personality the mood swing not that severe.

and when buying the slave is kinda not natural. his first meet she have dead eye and just few hour he buying her, she become cheeky.
yeah mood swing is steep kinda kill the momentum to read.
