I don't mean to sound rude or annoying but here is my wish list in top 10 format of what I'd like to see subbed.
10. Sailormoon R #67, ADV was not able to get Toei to put this episode on the DVD set, and it was not dubbed. It's kinda grey area, but come on! Not to mention out of 200 episodes it the olny episode I have NOT seen. :help:
09. Mobile Suit Gundam #15, Tomino asked it to be taken out. I hear it's a good episode. :eyebrow:
08. DragonBall GT #1-14, Funimation decided for some reason to take out these episodes which are pretty good (of the ones I saw in old 30mb .rm subs) The DVDs start with a compilation episode and then #15. :twitch:
07. Pokemon Crystal (not the game), a short one shot OAV with a mostly new cast, which has the same chance so seeing the release here as me winning a beauty contest. ;)
06. Pokemon Station, a short about 6 episode series about what happens to Kasumi (Misty) and Takeshi (Brock) after the go their seprate ways at the very end of Pokemon. More of a drama I hear. :innocent:
05. Digimon Movies, I know the first three were hacked and shown. I have seen subs of a few others, but keep 'em coming.
04. YuGiOh (first season), just like Funi with Lupin, 4Kids skipped the first series of YuGiOh. :eyespin:
03. Last episodes of SDC Orguss, The first 17 episodes or so where dubbed then the company when under and now the series has been in limbo for over 5 years. :upset: Maybe, Orguss II would be easier to understand if I could finish the first series.
02. More Dr. Slump, Dragonar, L-Gaim, and SD Gundam Old is good :heh:
01. Daa! Daa! Daa! and Lupin III - complete series in sets
:help:
Please consider my requests, I think I'm not the only one who would like these.
Thanks

I wouldn't mind a GOOD version of #10, i.e. something that isn't RM format.
#8 - I believe Funi has said they'll release those eps after the end of GT. Stupid. Oh well, at least I get to seem them from ep 1 on YTV in here in Canada. Those first 15 are the best part of GT because it goes back to the heart of the series, which is looking for Dragon Balls.
#5 - Subs exist for all 7 Digimon movies, they're just not readily available. I don't know if the latter 4 movies are licensed or not. The US Digimon movie was a hack job of the first three put together into one. Actually it did one sorta good thing tho, it cut out all the boring parts of Movie 3. Man, that one was too long in it's original form.
Movie 4 - eh, good action
Movie 5 - best movie out of the bunch IMO.
Movie 6 - bleh. worst one.
Movie 7 - all right somewhat. Nothing special there.

Here are the five I can think of right now.
5. Outlanders
Small OVA series that was dubbed by a company about 10 years ago that then went under. No one owns the rights to this anymore but it was pretty cool.
4. Orgus
I hear it's from the same team as Macross, Southern Cross, and alll them (the Robotech series). It's be cool to check out one day.
3. Space Battleship Yamato
AKA Starblazers from back in the day. Classic scifi from Leiji Matsumoto is always good.
2. Dragon Quest Dai no Daibouken
Adventure anime made during the 80's similar to today's Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, and Dragon Ball.
1. Galaxy Express 999 TV
The greatest series that has never been subbed. Some VHS fansubs exist from back in the day but it was never completed. 113 episodes of great stories, characters, and meanings. A classic older tale.

4. Orgus
I hear it's from the same team as Macross, Southern Cross, and alll them (the Robotech series). It's be cool to check out one day.
The first 18 episodes are on VHS.
A1. Pokemon - Legend of Dratini - episode left out because of a Gun :eyebrow:
A2. Pokemon - Electric Soldier Porygon - sezure episode, fansubber could cover up the lights or something.
A3. Galaxy Express 999 TV - Leijiverse enough said.
5. Outlanders
Small OVA series that was dubbed by a company about 10 years ago that then went under. No one owns the rights to this anymore but it was pretty cool.

5. OH MY GOSH! that based on the Manga of Manabe Johji?! If is, I must get that! The Manga's so good! humm... If I find RAWs maeby I can sub that, if a TL is found.
1. huh? this isn't subbed? I have one dubbed (in Finnish) VHS of it... very strange, but good serie... Galaxy Railways is the sequal...

I don't think I can come up with a list of 10, but I will mention a couple that can be added:
Ojamajo Doremi: There are four seasons of this, 201 episodes in total, according to animenfo.com. I've seen just the first two, and it's entirely sugary and addictive. Lots of fun, and I'd love to see it all some day.
Grandeek: I saw an episode of this on DC, and missed d/ling it. I've never seen anyone that has it since. There's actually 3 episodes of this, and the animation looks good.
I also would like to see Sailormoon episode 67, as well as more Pokemon and Yugioh released. ^^
YGO both seasons since 4kids refuses to make any sub and forcing us to watch this poor excuse for anime

1. Faster Kodocha releases - Nuff said ;)
2. Ojamajo Doremi - Even though it's liscensed, I'd like to have more episodes fansubbed than just the first 4. Why? Because 4Kids liscensed it, and you KNOW it's gonna suck dubbed.
3. Boboboubo Boubobo - Someone should do it sooooon :P
I think that's it for me :P
3. Boboboubo Boubobo - Someone should do it sooooon :P
Ur wish maeby answered soon... we might have found a TL for it... :D
Hmm all the ones I'm interested in are said so I'll just copy and paste them.
Galaxy Express 999 TV
Accidently seeing the end of one of the Galaxy Express 999 movies is actually what really got me into anime. Before that point I was a mindless SM fanboi. Although I saw only the ending, it was enough of an impact to make me wanna see the whole thing. Then I looked at Animenfo one day and realized there was actually a series! I would be incredibly interested in watching this one. I don't care if it's just a VHS rip.
Space Battleship Yamato,
Done by the same guy as galaxy express, so it has to be good, I'd be interested in seeing this one too.
Now about the other shows, alot of them are the unseen stuff of already licensed shows. That isn't too ethical. I would rather they just stick with stuff that is not licensed. As that is more ethical.
Hmm there are a few new shows that aren't being translated.
http://www.jascii.net/newanime/fall2003-pt1/newanime.html
I would be interesting in seeing:
Popolocrois Monogatari - Hajimari no Bouken
Subbed.
It really pisses me off that there are other shows with like a thousand subbers and these shows are ignored.
Parappa rappa... = ____ = This must be the third time I voted for it.
Done by the same guy as galaxy express, so it has to be good, I'd be interested in seeing this one too.
Kodocha
Already, basically fully subbed....

Most of the stuff you mention here is subed or is being subed.
Daa! Daa! Daa! is being done by AnimeONE
If you want it theres a archive bot in their chan named AonE|Elajt
Who has what is currently out.
More Dr. Slump and SD Gundam, yeah!
....I'm not really familer with anime that haven't been licensed or subbed...but someone said Hell Teacher Nube was good...
And that Pokemon "more of a drama" sounds good enough for a lark. It's just such an odd concept!

I hope to see Shurato on fansub, didn't manage to catch the last few episodes when it was shown on TV.
That Queen Millenia, looks totally like Galaxy Express 999 and Starzingers...
BTW, Starzinger ever licensed?

I'm really not sure what I want subbed. I guess for now, Bobo. Also with your things, with DBGT, I've heard that later they'll sub the episodes. Guess they wanted to get to the action and not bore anybody cause I've heard that those episodes wern't all that great. For Funi and Lupin, they only did some movies, not the series. Pioneer dubbed the series.
That Queen Millenia, looks totally like Galaxy Express 999 and Starzingers...

I'm not familiar with Starzingers, but Queen Millennia looks like Galaxy Express 999 because both were created by Leiji Matsumoto. This is why the blonde from Queen Millennia (Yaoi) looks like the blonde from GE999 (Maetel).
BTW, Queen Millennia was shown on american TV in the 80's, when some genius combined 2 different series of Matsumoto Creations (Space Pirate Captain Harlock and Queen Millennia) to show it on american TV as Captain Harlock and the Queen of a Thousand Years.
8 episodes of Queen Millennia (or The Millennial Queen) were fansubbed on tape by Garasu no Bara Productions (http://www.destinyofroses.org/glass/Projects.html). You can see poor quality .rm video files of it if you have a streamload account asking at Queen Millennia Distribution Page (http://go.to/queenmillennia)

Hey, Tonde Buurin looks like a winner! :P
Heck, a lot of those look interesting just from the pic.
Mama is a 4th Grader? WTF!
Now all we have to do is wait for a fansub group to do these shows. Sadly I think it is very unilikely that they will ever get subbed.
Why is is that everyone wants to be the latest naruto subber? Wouldn't it be better to be know as the group that subbed the awesome old school series?

Really funny, to bad I didn't understand Polan... :(

Naruto gets 50000 downloads.... sadly, people care more about being most downloaded than actually doing it right.
There's that, and the availability of getting the raw. Getting a naruto raw is ridiculously easy as opposed to finding an obscure 10 year old anime :P. Perhaps if someone had the raws a group may consider it, but otherwise it's too much of a hassle.

Raw availability isn't really a issue unless there was only VHS release for the show. LD/DVD rips are readily available on P2P networks although they take more time to obtain.
Vanity is actually the problem here. Many fansub groups are not actually promoting anime now. They are doing it for fame. Thus the naruto subbing. :(

It was the same way with Love Hina. It's sad. I hope nobody else starts subbing OVA3, because 1 is enough, 2 is a crowd, 3 is too many, 4 would be overkill. :P

Well... subbers usually prefer series that have easily obtainable raws and...
Availability of raw = stingyness of person with medium x availability of medium x age of medium x interest in medium by capturers (for tv shows)....
Examples
Naruto: a) lots of people capture it b) its openly shared c) its brand new d) vanity + popularity in japan = mass subbing
Atashinchi: a) not many capture it b) not very widely shared, lots of trading required c) brand new, but not widely captured d) takes a lot of work to get raw... = nobody subs it

I just like to state that L-E has plans to release subbed eps of the original Galaxy Express 999 TV series after Galaxy Railways is done (assuming it ends at a reasonable episode.)
We've already begun work on it and I own the DVDs :D

But we're not gonna tack on any more projects until we finish some of the current ones :P

It does require extra effort to acquire raw but I thought that's why we need fansubbers because they are willing to do extra to promote anime.
But maybe that's just my utopian thought.
IMO, japanese people spent more time on non-trading p2p network now. Recently I was helping a group obtaining some old LD rips of a 10 years old show and I had pretty good results on winny which requires absolute zero trading (well, you can't trade with winny anyways).

That's really cool. I always wanted to watch GE999 but didn't get the chance to when I was a kid. I'm grateful that the folks at L-E are willing to sub some old school anime that will never see the light in US. Thanks again for your efforts! :)

I used to have some RM rips of Tonde Buurin fansubs (I cant find them now if I do have them). Damn, I kinda miss them.
Something I would like to see fansubbed is Warau Salesman. I would see to fansubbing it myself if I could find the rest of the raws. I got LDs 2-3 as random purchases but have never managed to find anymore:( Damn, I just get a kick out of watching the raw eps alone. Oh, and also the Alice in Wonderland anime.

Not everything is easily available, it took an arm and a leg to get all of the kogepan raws.
On topic: shows i want to see subbed:
1.shin megami tensei devil children (hope i got that name right) (Devil shin chi, the original series with fairy fore op/ed)
2. sazae-san, SOMEONE DO IT DAMNIT!!!
3. atashinchi (someone needs to continue this)
ill add more later...

w00t. XD L-E is my favorite fansubbing group~ ^-^ I can't wait. L-E does so many great series.
I would like to see any old-school stuff fansubbed.~ I've always been a fan of older anime for some reason. xD I'm really tired of like 5 million groups all focusing on one series though. It's kind of ridiculous.. .:shrugs:. If I ever got into fansubbing, I'd sub some of the less popular stuff. I seem to always like a lot of the less popular stuff too. ^^; I actually tend to avoid anime that have so many groups doing them.
Hm.. I remember watching an episode or two of Tonde Buurin a long time ago. I think the episodes were raw though. ^^; Bad quality RM files. lol. Yeah. It looked like a fun series though. I'd like to see it subbed. :D

Well, I'd particularly like to push Ashita no Joe, Ashita no Joe 2, and A Dog of Flanders(TV series, not the movie). Everything else I can think of has already been said.
Why the hell no one suggest Mysterious Cities of Gold? It's a good anime, and it was a mass sucess on Europe back in the late 80's...
Any group interrerested in subbing this, contact me, since I have the script translated up to episode 5 :D
3. Boboboubo Boubobo - Someone should do it sooooon :P

thats odd, I had the whole series subbed. I don't remember who did it though. There were multiple groups doing it. I remember someone had like 20 eps, a few had 4, and someone did the whole series. But regardless, you can't find them anyways so it matters not. I don't think I have seen my tapes of it in about 4 years.
On a side note the movie (what you have pictured) was pretty good. And is still available on fansub.

Unless it was a very secret project of some group, I think you're mistaken. The Fansub Database lists more than 4 episodes done, but only a few anyway: 1-4, 9-12 and 39:

"Why the hell no one suggest Mysterious Cities of Gold?"
Mysterious Cities of Gold is fully licensed I think; at least, I remember seeing the subs on the ABC here in Australia when I was a kid. I've even got some of them on my computer; abysmal quality though.
Wasn't Cities of Gold done by the French or something like that? Ulysses 31 (Another cool series from my childhood) wa a French/Japan collaboration and Cities of Gold was when the French struck out on their own? Or maybe it was the Spanish? I dunno, something like that.
Sub the Shingetsutan Tsukihime game!!!!!! =)

According to the magic licensed list on AnimeonDVD, it isn't :naughty: It licensed in most european countries, asian countries and Australia, but no US...
Yes, MCOG is a Japan/France collaboration like Ulysses 31... The only series that Spain had a collaboration with Japan, was Dogtanian.

galaxy express 999 tv must be subbed! I thought someone would of licensed it with all the movies out but they never did! Iv'e been waiting for like 8 years for them to! Some really good fansub group must sub this! I see the dvds for it on ebay alot but since i cant play them in my dvd player it makes me sad:(
O please sub it someone...........
Yes, it'd be really great if some group (like L-E) would sub Galaxy Express 999 (and any other unlicenced GE series/movies).
I'd also like to see Starzinger (aka Spacekeeters/Sci-bots) subbed. It's another great work of Leiji Matsumoto,
which was really popular in Sweden in the 80's (unfortunately they only released 24 of the 73 eps here...)

It would be in my opinion quite difficult to translate THAT MUCH TEXT and still give a faithful translation. I believe a lot of the game relies on a lot of Japanese cultural knowledge to understand and enjoy. Typical visual novels are LONG, often in the length of whole 26 episode series.

Old school all the way ;) Have seen a lot (30+ eps) of GE999 TV and over half of Ideon TV raw, even though I know what happens and know what they're saying for the most part, it would be nice to have some subs for them :P
Gundam shows have been left out since we all know they'll come eventually ;)
Gundam shows have been left out since we all know they'll come eventually ;)
Except for a subbed version of the original Mobile Suit Gundam TV series
I too, would like to see Pokemon Station.I watched Pokemon as a kid,and I'd just like to know what happened to my 2 fave characters.
Ayatsuri Sakon is seriously a damn good series, but no one knows about it, it seems.
only episodes 1-3 were subtitled by a well known group (bakamx) who doesn't exist anymore. episodes 4-16 are available, but extremely fucking hard to get... and done by no one you'd recognize, probably.
17-26, aren't available. and odds are, they won't be. why? cause the dvds are INSANELY hard to get. they are rare, even in japan. the cost? 60-80 u.s. dollars, PER DVD. and there are 9 dvds. also, no HK raws exist that i know about (else i would have bought them and sent them to a fansubber, myself), and no TV raws are floating out there that i know of either (the show is from 99)
its quite frustrating, because like i said, it really is a damn good series. essentially about a guy and his puppet, who solve really gruesome murders (a detective show, of sorts). it isn't a kiddy type show at all... very, very dark and quite beautiful. the series goes in definite arcs (cases)... and 16, isnt the last part of that specific arc >_<
i also would like to see any other rumic works involving the mermaid stories. i was told that there are more than just scar and forest... and since i liked those two (and the currently being released forest tv), i'd love to see others.

Jigoku Sensei Nube aka Hell Teacher Nube would rule!
48 eps and from 1996 so i hope it's not too hard to find.
info from animenfo.com
Nueno Mesuke, better known as "Nube", is a school teacher who does more than just teach. You see, Nube's left hand is a huge, nasty-looking demon's claw. He uses it to get rid of malicious demons, ghosts, spirits and other supernatural beings that are giving his students a hard time. Nube's left hand was normal, until one fateful day when he exorcised an extremely powerful demon from a child. He was outmatched and lost his left hand. The only way to fight it was to let it enter his body. As a result, Nube has a demonic left hand where his own hand used to be. To educate and protect -- that's what Jigoku Sensei Nube does.
I hope some fansub groups are looking at this thread geting ideas:)

SUCH GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!
you seriously just made my day :D
I've been wanting to see the rest of the series for a long time, and in August we begun sourcing the raws. It is indeed very hard to get HQ raws (one of our translators has the HKDVD set, but the quality is poor) and thus we didn't want to start the series until we had all episodes in possession. But, it's a goer, and episode 4 has finished the first translation phase.
Right now I'm slaving over the typesetting.
We do need help with distro though...
Three cheers for Seichi!

K_R: the best way to distro is probably BT, of course.. i will gladly help seed the file, though my upload is only 25k... but, anything is better than nothing, right?

Sadly I don't have info or pictures for all of these, I mostly just copied what everyone posted.
If you're wondering what's happening with Seichi's Sakon, we're having trouble translating part of the show, namely the gidayu parts (kabuki type thing). Most native Japanese people don't understand the stuff, so you can understand the trouble we are having. I've been asking around the academic staff at my uni, but the best I've been able to get is a partial translation.

Can anyone comment of the avalibility of raws of these shows?

yeah, i second the Nube idea, i've dled a couple of raws off winmx before, even though the animation's not that great, but from the looks of it, it's funny as hell, and i bet i'll enjoy the other stuff as well. if just someone would sub it, i've been anticipating this series for a long time now. heh. fat chance, eh?

Has anyone decided to work on Hidamari no Ki episode 2 onward? I would like to find out what happened to the fledgeling doctor and swordsman. ^_^
That's a nice Suika banner Sothis. I wouldn't mind if someone also decided to fansub the non-adult versions of the Suika OVA too (mainly for episodes 2-3). I wouldn't want to see the adult version of episode 3 anyway since I think ?Ocho has too young an appearance to have an H-scene with. o_O' The story made perfect sense without the H-scene. Suika is the game that Circus made before Da Capo and watching the endings of Da Capo I can notice a few similarities between the two (I much prefer Suika's 2nd and 3rd OVA story endings to Da Capo's endings though).
?Ocho is the girl in your Anime Planet banner if you didn't know that already. :)

But I thought SD Gundam was licensed already. We got a sampler DVD a few weeks ago from Bandai.
Mmm I'd really like to see some Sazae-san subbed ... I wonder what happened to the guy who was interested in doing it ...
Someone to subb F-Zero Falcon Densetsu.Miyuki and A-M seemed to have dropped the series,or are having extremely bad delays. There is 8 raws out right now,and the last episode subbed was almost a month ago.Sort of a disapointment for me,since I've played a lot of the F-zero games and was wondering how this series would turn out,Something new different.
I wonder how to get raws for Heisei Inu Monogatari Bow... (in Japanese, 平成イヌ物語バウ)

Lingerie Soldier Papillon Rose - I wish someone would fansub it just so I know what's being said! XD I'm not the only one either, sure it's perverted but there's only one episode so far so...
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children Light and Dark - Eer something like that on the last part of the title, I've heard about it, thought there was a fansub, but can't find it. XD I like the music for it... so I wanna see it!
Digimon - Baaah I wanna see the Japanese episodes darn it! Are there fansubs already? I don't think I've seen any. Ai Maeda's music is so good in it, it's no fair it got ripped to poo when they dubbed it.
Pokemon/Pocket Monsters - ... ... Only because of Megumi Hayashibara's role as Musashi...
I know the last two are licensed but bah, we'll never see the subtitled versions because of the people that licensed them! It's not fair!
Shin Megami Tensei would be interesting

Bandai is using the name SD Gundam (Superior Defender Gundam) for a new CGI show, but I asked Jerry Chu in his channel (A while back, during the whole SEED thing) and he said they'll probably never bring over the original Super Deformed Gundam for the content (Nudity, characters peeing on each other, etc)
I don't know if it's considered okay to fansub something in a case like that...but logic says that since it's never coming to North America that it would make sense for fans to do it. Raws are extremely hard to find since it was only ever released on VHS and never DVD.

Well, if they cant be found on the latest napster wannabe proggies, VHS tapes can be easily found (but quite expensive) at amazon.co.jp
Or, you can do what I do when I want a rare import laserdisc: bookmark the search on yahoo japan auctions and keep hoping someone sells (and noone outbids you when they do).
Then cap em.

I don't really think the guy that asked the question (about the Bow raws) would be interested in buying, but there're a few VHS tapes for sale at Yahoo Japan auctions with very low starting bids:
Yahoo Japan Auctions search for Heisei Inu Monogatari Bow (http://search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/search?sb=desc&desc=%ca%bf%c0%ae%a5%a4%a5%cc%ca%aa%b8%ec%a5%d0%a5 %a6%a1%a1+&acc=jp&at=true&alocale=1jp)
A few direct links:

http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g10994806
http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b45419846
Anyway, I don't think the entire series was released on VHS (or LD or any other format). But using Winny or Winmx it's frequently possible to find raws people recorded from the TV broadcast (even for older series). Don't know about Heisei Inu, though. Of the suggestions I've given, probably this is the most difficult one when it comes to raws.

Well, you're going to either have to deal with inaccurate but more readable translations or accurate but a lot less legible translations. Plus, you're gonna have to pay them about 100 to 1000 times that amount if you want it out in less than a few years, unless they are of course rabid fans of the game and believe that translating it won't destroy it. Then you might see, at best, results in a year or so, but don't hold your breath.

I most want to see a GOOD version of the last parts of Gundam X (Eps. 25-up). All the ones I and my friends have found have had incredibly bad sound (it got quieter and quieter each ep. until you just plain couldn't hear) and poor video quality. Seeing as it was one of the less popular series, I doubt it's coming here anytime soon.
And then of course there's Xabungle. I've got a buddy who has a lot of raws of it (I think possibly the whole series), so they're out there, or at least he can provide them.
I don't really think the guy that asked the question (about the Bow raws) would be interested in buying
You are correct, not because I don't want to pay for them (it seems a cool show), but because I'm not old enough to own a credit card. :(

Hi,
I would really like to see Chibi-Maruko chan (the tv series) subbed... This shown ran in the early 90s, had over 100 episodes, and was/still is the highest rated show ever in Japan...
It's a really funny show that follows the antics of a cute young girl (Maruko-chan), her family, and friends... daily life has never been so hilarious
I'm surprised this shown is so hard to find (only chinese vcds appear to be available) - I'm also surprised that no one has brought this show over, or tried fansubbing it... I think it has the potential to be a great hit if someone is willing to sub it... so please, someone pick this show up!

I downloaded the first episode of Devilman. Rather funny. Go Nagai anime needs to be subbed more, they are so camp and fun.
I made a mistake the series was done in 73' so the early 80's part is all wrong.
From what I've read up the manga is even more dark and neato.
ILA is cool, I hope they keep making more old school reality.

I'm not sure the original Devilman TV series was all that true to the manga though. He seems to have become some sort of superhero in tights. I'll go check it out though. ;)
EDIT: Just watched the first episode and it did seem to take only the basic premise of the manga. The manga is darker. It's still fun in a cheesy sort of way, and I like the OP song. (it sounds a lot like the Hawai-5-0 opening song)

Does that just mean no one in the US has DVD rights to LCOG? Because I know that at one point in ther mid 80's it was shown on Nick.

I searched around some more, and found out it was licensed by Nickelodeon, but they lost the master videos on a fire... which is a reason they don't sell DVD's or VHS of them... I want to sub this to English (Since i know a place to download the french version raws [Dunno if it's the original language, but i think it is] and i can translate to english quite easily) but until Nick's license expires, I can't (unless Animesuki opened an exception to this, which I don't believe)

3. atashinchi (someone needs to continue this)
this is an awesome show. i would love to see more!
1. Chibi Maruko - TV series
My favorite anime of all time. I saw around 100+ episodes in chinese vhs. It is really funny, the show have an ironic sense of humor. Art looks weird but it work remarkably well with this type of story. Generally a light hearted series, but it does have it serious moments. (Also learned alot about the japanese culture thru this series.) :)
2. Kodacha
I heard that the entire series had been sub. But i didnt see anything past episode 34 or 33. And thats like a year of so ago. I wish either another fansub group would pick it up, or that it be license, so i could just buy the whole series, instead of waiting one year to see one new episode.
3. Atashichin
Liked the 9 nine episodes that i saw, wish someone could continue fansubbing it.

yet another vote for Atashin'chi, which I sorely miss.
Ai to Yuuki Piggu Gaaru Tonde Buurin is cute and funny mahou shoujo. Someone else also mentioned this show.
http://server5.uploadit.org/files/babbito2k-tonde_buurin.jpg
Chou Kuse ni Narisou (I'll Make a Habit of It) is an old Nakayoshi comedy. It's still one of my favorite shows. Some of it got fansubbed on VHS.
http://server5.uploadit.org/files/babbito2k-habit.jpg
Akihabara Dennou Gumi: 2011 no Natsuyasumi is a sequel to one of my favorite series. The series is licensed as Cyber Team in Akihibara by ADV *sighs* who knows when or if they will ever do the movie...
http://server5.uploadit.org/files/babbito2k-tsubamehibari.jpg
I also hope that all the older series currently being subbed will get completed. I am not pointing fingers or anything of the kind - I am just saying I follow the old shows and want to see them.
It would be nice if Inuyasha was only avalible via, sub.
2. Kodacha
I heard that the entire series had been sub. But i didnt see anything past episode 34 or 33. And thats like a year of so ago. I wish either another fansub group would pick it up, or that it be license, so i could just buy the whole series, instead of waiting one year to see one new episode.
I will repeat myself for the nth time, all of kodocha is subbed except 41-50. I have it all (RM format/avi). And it might just be licensed, there are enough rumors/stories floating around that ...who knows...
Inu yasha is licensed.......i will stop there..
And another show that i forgot about that got forgotten about is that old ninja show for kids. Its pretty damn funny, despite the fact it is clearly for kids, i cant remember/find the name.
Someone pick up Oruchuban Ebichu please..... m(_ _)m
AnimeMPEG has been doing Ebichu and has been doing a fine job. Just be patient.

Kuru's posting of images was pretty effective; easier to get interest drawn into a series from the artwork than just titles.
I looked up Kakyuusei, and it's licensed by SoftCel Pictures: AnimeNFO Information (http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,657,uzxcvy,kakyuusei.html). I had a bit of interest in this since if I remember correctly I have the H-game CG rips from this game. Or perhaps it's just that the game and anime share the same name but are unrelated; who knows ;P
Someone mentioned Orguss, right? I remember watching Orguss02 on a service called Sputnik (free - streaming anime, music videos, and other video content, surprisingly requiring no download other than WMP or Realmedia Player). It was only... I think four or six episodes, though, and subbed. I think it was subbed by Manga Entertainment. According to AnimeNFO (http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,785,musafj,orguss_02.html), again, that would work, but they list the series as being 35 episodes...
Mysterious Cities of Gold is a French written Japanese animated show. It's native language is French.
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children Light and Dark
If you are thinking fansubs I know Devil Children series based on Black and Red books is fun subed but only found on the irc. I do wish someone would do torrents for them.
There is a series based on Light and Dark book but I am unsure if it has been fansubed.
Shin Megami Tensei
There is a movie based off the manga that was kinda based off the game called Tokyo Revelations. It is supposed to be utter crap, but you can buy it from Manga Entertainment.
I would like to see fan subs of both Devil Child tv series and the Live action Devil Summoner TV series, since I'm a huge SMT fan. We are already working on getting some of the manga translated. And the games are being worked on the time.
Mysterious Cities of Gold is a French written Japanese animated show. It's native language is French.
That was I needed to know... so the raws I have are the true ones (i have them with french audio, so...)
Oh... and does anyone knows the Nickelodeon e-mail... neither their website or Viacom's website have it...

The Kakyuusei I've mentioned and the one licensed by Sofcel are completely different anime series. The one licensed by Softcel (and already partially released in the USA for many years now, as First Loves) is know only as Kakyuusei. It has only 4 episodes, not 13 like the animenfo says (it's amazing the amount of errors that site has).
After that Kakyuusei, Pink Pinapple released new, completely different, Kakyuusei , known as Kakyuusei élf version. It's indeed based on the game released by élf (see the origin of the "élf version" ?).
After that, a TV series was released, featuring the characteres from the élf version OVAs.
Anyway, No Name Losers (http://hikari.ive.ca/nnl/main.html)
is already working on Kakyuusei élf version OVAs according to their page. But the Kakyuusei TV series still needs a fansubber.
Kakyyusei (original - known in english as "First Loves"; only first 2 episodes were released):

I don't know a lot about Mysterious Cities of Gold and if its original audio was only french, but the japanese version (original or not, I don't know) is available on DVD.
The series is know in Japanese as Taiyo no Ko Esteban and was released in 2 DVD boxes:

It isn't something I would particularly want to be subbed.
babbito:
does your message mean you want the akihabara dennou gumi movie? if so, i have it. message me if you'd like to figure out a place to send.
I also forgot Ashita no Joe and a comedy about a policeman that I see whenever I go to Japan that has been pretty long running. I also have Heavy Metal L-Gaim HK DVDs if anyone is interested in subbing them.
All of Heavy Metal L-Gaim is already subbed by Arctic on VHS. Also, is the policeman series you are talking about Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouenmae Hashutsujo (pretty damn long title)? The manga is well over 100 volumes, and it has been running since the mid-70s.

Maybe licensed, who knows...
1. Tales of phantasia
2. Pia carrot, all eps
3. pokemon movie 5
4. hamtaro movie
and any old anime movies + rare series.
1. Tales of phantasia
do you mean tales of eternia? if so, that's subbed already.
do you mean tales of eternia? if so, that's subbed already.
He probably means the Tales of Phantasia OAV that's coming out/came out.
Maybe licensed, who knows...
2. Pia carrot, all eps
The Pia Carrot adult OVAs have already been commercially released by Nutech for a few years now.
The Pia Carrot 2DX OVAs have been fansubbed by Choco Fansubs.
The Pia Carrot 3 movie has been fansubbed for 2 or 3 different groups.
There isn't any other Pia Carrot anime that I know of.

9)Great Mazinger
8)Cutey Honey F
7)Heavy Metal L-Gaim
6)Turn A Gundam
5)Rumiko Takahashi's new anime anthology
4)The New Gigantor TV series

...........
5)Rumiko Takahashi's new anime anthology
.............
Cutey Honey F --> first 24 episodes were fansubbed by Sachi (http://www.sachigumi.com/)
Heavy Metal L-Gaim --> the entire TV series was fansubbed a long time ago by Arctic Animation. Soyokaze (http://www.soyokazefans.com/) still lists the tapes for distribution.
Rumiko Takahashi's new anime anthology --> Would this be Rumic Theater ? If it is, Live-Evil (www.live-evil.org) already subbed it.
I remember someone here mentioned "dream hunter Rem." Well, the first ep is released by anime Coalition.
I was a bit surprised at the degree of nudity and violence. Can someone tell me if it is going to go beyond that of ep 1 and at what extend? I just don’t like series that’s not…too subtle. :D Thank you.
4. hamtaro movie
SECONDED! I will also sell my soul to anyone willing to sub it.
....I'm not really familer with anime that haven't been licensed or subbed...but someone said Hell Teacher Nube was good...
Hell Teacher Nube is very funny, bit scary and also touching.
As for shurato.

Monster hasn't even aired yet and I'm sure at least a few groups will do it. Do you expect people to break into studios and steal raws or something? This thread is for older stuff that hasn't been subbed, not stuff that isn't even out yet.
Sorry but the first page didn't indicate anything like that, so I apologize, but I still stand by my statement that all I want is Monster.

Oh! Didn't know. I'll look for the dvds, then. ^_^
I'd really like to see Angelique fansubbed ;_; (see my sig and avatar).
Why? It's good, it's cute, it's popular in Japan and also recent. The series has been running for over 10 years and it's still going! :D (the latest video game in the series was released in January, and the latest OVA was released, like... 4 days ago. Plus there's a new CD every month, several concerts per year, and even an entire convention dedicated to the series held in Japan).
I have raws of the series, too, but every fansub group I gave them too decided not to sub Angelique, and instead subbed things that were ALREADY FANSUBBED. -_- Rrrr.
Anyway, I have raws if anyone is interested. <3 Fansub Angelique and I will love you long time. <3

It's being fully shown in several other countries too, including several European countries, New Zealand and most (or all) of Latin America. But it was shown dubbed (usually as Super Pig). A subbed version of all the series would be good (I say of all the series because something like 12 episodes were fansubbed on tape).

My three-anime wish list:
1. Atashinchi - I watch this every week, its so cute, sweet, and funny. I love Mikan's voice (same VA as the Scrapped Princess). I'm surprised there aren't any RAW providers, as this anime is insanely popular in Japan. Of course, there aren't any RAW providers for ratings-champ Sazaesan either.
2. Dog of Flanders - Everytime they poll best anime in Japan, this series wins nearly every category. The few highlight clips I've seen are really interesting, would like to see the whole thing someday.
3. Kochira Katsushikaku Kameari Kouen mae Hashutsujo - Usually called "Kochikame" for short. ^^ The jokes are old, but the way they're presented is really funny.

Ojamajo Doremi- Comeon this show rocks I mean 4kids will butcher it into tiny pieces of dust. I would be glad to help the subbing group get the material, such as all the episodes if someone wantedto.
Devil Children (both)- I know 1 episode of the 2nd series was subbed but that it. Imean come on this show rules LOL the openings r so cool!!!
Minky Momo- I think this show would be cute subbed since the dub is crap
Kimba- They have the 1960's dubbed on DVD but no subs BUUUU

04. YuGiOh (first season), just like Funi with Lupin, 4Kids skipped the first series of YuGiOh. :eyespin:
Correction for that list, 4Kids did NOT skip the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh! Here is a little background. ANOTHER company did the ORIGINAL show Yu-Gi-Oh!, and LATER a show called Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters was made. The show we call Yu-Gi-Oh! here in the US is ACCUALLY just Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters from Japan. The "first season" as you say is ACCUALLY not REALLY the 1st season by the same company, but almost a completely difference series that was made by another company. The 1st season isn't licensed (to my knowledge), and there IS someone doing it, but I won't list the channel and stuff cuz they also distribute Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Subbed as well, which would go against the rules of this fourm to list it.

A little bit of Tokimeki Tonight was fansubbed (on DVD, not digisubs) by Anime Miners (www.animeminers.com). You can request a copy of the DVD from Technogirls DVD-R distribution (http://www.quixium.com/fan/anime_dvdrlist.htm)
For a few screencaps of the anime, check this italian site: http://www.shoujoinitalia.net/2002/ransie/anime.htm (the anime was shown in Italy as "Ransie la strega").
The manga translation is/was being done by Manga-Daisuki. They called the title "Throbbing Tonight".

Most of the rest of the stuff requested in this thread is crap. (Yu-gi-oh? makes sense its not being done). But that Okojo-san looks hella cute.
I imagine whats gets fansubbed and what doesn't has a lot to do with the raw sources, since obviously only a limited number of people live in Japan or have satellite dishs that bother to rip shows.
Maybe one of these Naruto fansubbers could do something useful and fansub something like Okojo-san, but it would be a matter of buying the region-2 DVDs.
Most of the rest of the stuff requested in this thread is crap.

I've been dieing to watch the Crayon Shin Chan series, not the movie, the actual series! The closest thing I could find were some VCD's in the china town part of where I live and those were dubbed in cantonese -_-
Have you seen all of them to say they're crap ?
Or maybe you're a 12 years old that says "I didn't read it but I don't like it" ? I did catch like 10 minutes of Yu-Gi-Oh once, though I already knew I didn't like the characters designs from ads that I've seen.
I probably shouldn't say crap, perhaps just call it pop-culture cartoons for a younger audience and aren't my cup of tea.
As for the person who said "somebody please finish dragonar", it IS still being subbed, just a little slowly...
I just finished 5 a week ago.

Well, I'd particularly like to push Ashita no Joe, Ashita no Joe 2, and A Dog of Flanders(TV series, not the movie). Everything else I can think of has already been said.
A Dog of Flanders DVDs has English subtitles. The English subbed version is licensed by Power International Multmedia INC., a Taiwanese based company.

I noticed somebody mentioning they wanted to see Turn a Gundam subbed, well good news it is currently being subbed by a group called #Anime-Gundam, they're page is http://animegundam.webalias.com/ I see they have also completed G-Gundam (which looks interesting) But they are very low-key and have no torrents available :(

it will be great if anyone of u guys have the link to where I am able to download it:D
My wish-list:
1. Galaxy Express 999 TV - Already under way, thank you Live Evil.
2. Space Battle Cruiser Yamato - anyone know why this has "stalled"?
3. Candy Candy TV - My wife wants to cry in front of TV again.
4. Idol Defense Force Hummingbird 3 and 4 - Anyone know what the status is?
5. Adventures of Tom Sawyer - by Nippon Animation, back in the late 70's I think.
BTW, can someone tell me who did the character designs for Hummingbird, and what other series he/she did?
10 - Gundam SEED 2 (fall 2004)
09 - Get Ride! AMDriver (only ep 01 has been done so far)
08 - BLEACH
07 - Mr. Full Swing
06 - Prince of Tennis musical ^_^
05 - Inu Yasha's 3rd movie
04 - Turn A Gundam

Gundam Seed 2 ---> I'd call this for a "wish to be released" than a "wish to be subbed". The second it's released the fansubs will follow.
Rockman.exe Axess --> It's being done by Wolfpack Productions (www.wpp-fansubs.com). They've already done the first 11 episodes.

I would love to see...
Hols: Prince of the Sun - Takahata's earliest film that he directed. And if Takahata directed it, then that must mean it's flawless :)
Hiwou Senki - Bones's first series. It's 26 episodes and has never been subbed, so it's probably impossible to find raws for it  I would really love to see this one. So far, Bones have a clean record of really amazing anime, and I doubt that this is an exception.
Moomins - The Japanese version. I found a website with DVDs of all the episodes, but for a few reasons I probably won't be able to get them for a while.

Somebody here (I forgot who it was, I'm still a noob), was just talking about how he/she had an excellent SVHS copy back when Kodacha did it, and he's capturing it ASAP, so you probably won't have to wait very long. Also, I'm doing Puss in Boots, another Toei film from that era, that also had Miyazaki as a major contributor to the final scenes!

Tokyo Mew Mew is being fansubbed by Honobono.
All the other titles are available on official releases and Anime Suki doesn't allow discussion of licensed titles in this forum.
The Girl from Fantasia is available from ADV.
Don't Leave Me Alone Daisy is available from Bandai (you can find the 12 episodes in a single set for really cheap).
Devil Hunter Yohko has been released by ADV. In fact Devil Hunter Yohko was their first release ever, more than ten years ago.
I wouldn't mind seeing Yobarete, Tobidete! Akubi chan (http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,1099,mftlua,yobarete__tobid.html) subbed. It's appearently a spin-off series of what we know here as Bob in the Bottle. I saw the OP when the Anime Intro Archives were still working; it looks pretty darn adorable and funny ~A La Mode~
LOVELY PUUUUNCH! XD
6. Chiisana Ahiru no Ooki na Ai no Monogatari Ahiru no Quack (it has Megumi Hayashibara voice so...)

Nothing against Anime Miners and the quality of the conversion, but I've payed for too many crappy VHS to DVD releases to simply buy it uninformed.
I'm also now curious about this Curious Violet who takes digisubs, remasters them, puts them on DVDs and sells them.
I know about the DVDs already, but I'd like to hear about them from someone who has bought them before I order them.
I have them and they're of excellent quality, as all of the Anime Miners releases (I have all of them). If I didn't knew they're from a VHS commercial release source, I'd think they were from a better source.
You should also keep in mind that it isn't a fansub done on tape and them digitally captured. They took the original Japanese commercial tapes (and you won't find it in better quality, as Tokimeki Tonight was never released on LD or DVD), capture the video and them subbed it to DVD.
And the translation are top rate, as it's done by a native speaker of Japanese (born and raised in Japan, living in the USA these days).
Lets see my top ten huh.

:'( Candy....I love Candy Candy....but I haven't seen Georgie, which is from Yumiko Igarashi, the illustrator of Candy Candy. I doubt you could find fansubs or make fansubs of it, because Igarashi and Kyoko Mizuki (the writer) have been in a fight ever since the late 90's about the copyright of Candy Candy. You see, Yumiko Igarashi started selling Candy Merchandise that was illegal, and.....yeah.. It's a long story.

Hmm.. I'm waiting for Gravion Zwei to be fansub!!
I looked through the pages and couldn't find it. Is anyone even considering doing "Ashita no Joe"? The great 70s boxing anime which was so popular in Japan that when one of the characters died they held a funeral for him.
[QUOTE=Otakuboy T]I don't mean to sound rude or annoying but here is my wish list in top 10 format of what I'd like to see subbed.
10. Sailormoon R #67, ADV was not able to get Toei to put this episode on the DVD set, and it was not dubbed. It's kinda grey area, but come on! Not to mention out of 200 episodes it the olny episode I have NOT seen. :help:
I have all the Heart Collection (Sailor Moon S) and Pegasus Collection (super S). Do those sets have all the complete episodes from those seasons?
Sailor Moon R is the second season uncut I have seen in the stores? How could they leave out an episode?? I am shocked. Was it shown on T.V? I am meaning to get the season 1 and 2 uncut sets sometime soon, but now that i know there's an episode left out...
Tommy, they licensed Sakigake Cromartie High...along with my precious Mermaid Melody
I really want someone to do Pastel Yumi and Sweet Mint. I know Live-Evil is loaded with projects right now, but they're doing such an awesome job with Creamy Mami and Fairy Persia, that I think they'd do great with these two.
As far as older animes go, provided the series is completed, and not licensed, I go to www.boxtorrents.com. Licensing seems to be a touchy subject, I'm still learning the do's and don't's about discussing licensed anime. At any rate, if anyone knows of any groups subbing Pastel Yumi or Sweet Mint, PLEASE let me know!

We're not going to do Mint or Yumi yet (although we have the DVD raws) but do not rule them out a year or two down the line. After Creamy Mami we will be replacing it with Idol Legend Eriko (a fine replacement if you ask me!)

Look the mahoushoujo team is already at full capacity with Mami and Pelsia, you can't just assign an ordinary person who doesn't like mahoushoujo or has no idea what mahoushoujo is to do the mahoushoujo title. Sure you can think they will 'cute up' and get over it, learn to love it, but that's not what happens. In reality they flip out, go insane, whine, pout, leave the group, yell, regress to infancy, or the like. Mahoushoujo is just too much for most people, more than they can handle.
Fans begging doesn't get things done, only people, people that are willing to work on such titles and not just talk about doing them or suggest other groups doing them.
You're OK with Yumi's voice? Sweet Mint, Tonde Buurin, Eriko (as mentioned), there's a lot of things to do before getting to Yumi (IMO).

Eriko is a fine replacement, but I think Pastel Yumi would be even better. I have the Pastel Yumi LD box but would really like to see it subbed at some time.
I meant no disrespect to Tofusensei, or anyone over at Live-Evil. I just meant that since the animes were similar to what they were doing, and that I find their work to be excellent and easy to understand, that I'm sure they would do an incredible job on these as well. It doesn't really matter how long it takes. No need to be so harsh -.-
And if Tofusensei recommends Idol Legend Eriko, then I'll be sure to check it out.
Also, in no way am I begging, or pressuring them in any way. Just the fact that they can do it amazes me (I can't understand a word of Japanese atm). So please, try not to misunderstand my posts and jump down my throat.

Have you had any luck capturing the LDs? Maybe my LD player is too old (1975) but the color saturation and exposure seems to be all over the place on these LDs. Even if I set the parameter to an arbitrarily high level there are still parts of the video that are seriously overexposed and most of it is underexposed. With Yumi many people would complain that the tone of her voice is too low I think. The LDs themselves are just fine, there is no 'LD rot' or anything like that.
Gokinjo Monogatari (Neighborhood Story) and the rest of Kaikan Phrase. Also Angelique. Then I can die happy.
Older shoujo in general would be nice.
Warau Salesman!!! Somebody find me raws!!

Until this day, I've never tried to do any kind of video capture. I intend to do it at some point (before my LD player dies) , but I need to find more free time before I start. Before trying analog source, I'll probably try DVD ripping, that I also never did. At some point I want to offer sources for Minky Momo (1st TV series) and Youkoso Yohko to see if some group wants to sub them.
I've never noticed any problem with Yumi's voice. Maybe it's simply you don't like it, like Robert Woodhead from Animeigo seems to hate Hikaru's voice (Hikaru from Kimagure Orange Road).
Gokinjo Monogatari (Neighborhood Story) and the rest of Kaikan Phrase. Also Angelique. Then I can die happy.
Vortex Fansubs (http://www.fansubber.net/) has finished Kaikan Phrase.
Hmm..
As far as GT 1-14, I heard it was the first 26 episodes that got removed. Regardless, I watched them raw on International Channel and they were definitely the best part of the entire DB/Z/GT saga, at least in my opinion. There are fansubs around, BTW, not that I'm endorsing them.
I'd love to see all of the Angelique OAVs get subbed (Shiroi Tsubasa no Memoir, Seiichi Yori Ai o Komete, Twin Collection, 10th Anniversary OVA4)
Also, I can't wait for the rest of Highschool Kimengumi. 80+ episodes of insanity.
I'm also somewhat interested in the new Harukanaru Toki no Naka De TV series, which should've just started airing in Japan. It's based off a KOEI Ruby Party game series, same as Angelique, except it's based in the feudal times..
Vortex Fansubs (http://www.fansubber.net/) has finished Kaikan Phrase.

When you quote a post from more than 6 months ago, many pages of posts behind, it would a good idea to include at least the name of the series you're talking about.
Anyway, I've took the time to check and you're talking about Papillon Rose.

My only real wish is to see Lunar Anime pick up Hunter X Hunter again. The series has been stalled at 10 for almost half a year now. :(
Last time they stalled for a while they surprised us with a 5 episode batch file. But according to their website they have stopped work on hXh indefinatly.
And yes, im well aware that the completed series is availible from another group. But the video quality is horrible, and after seeing the really high quality of lunar's version, I can't go back, at least not until lunar announces that there is no chance of them picking up the series again.
EDIT: I just found this post by Outlaw 55
was the head of the Project Hunter x Hunter in Lunar and basically the Translator of it started hating me for some odd reason and stopped translating, therefore the project could not move along, so BLAME Tengouki for the HxH delay. Unfortuatly I was indirectly fired from Lunar (due to blackmail where tengouki said he would quit if i encoded anything he translated), but I plan to continue that project in Anime-Influx as soon as we find a Translator. I CARED about the HxH project, the translator was just an asshole....(Note: I have the DVDs, so basicaly Lunar will not be able to continue, but I did MOST of the work on it anways, Anime-Influx Timed, but I typesett, and encoded, and headed up the project. I also bugged the shit out of ppl to get it done...but translator never lisened....)
Maybe dreams do come true..... :D

I also feel I must request that someone PLEASE pick up Gokinjo Monogatari/Neighborhood Story!
I know it doesn't suit everyone, but personally I love the story and find it very relatable, and while some people dislike the rather unique art style, I think that makes it very very compelling.
I saw a couple subbed episodes of it years ago, horrible RMs that were almost unviewable, but it was enough to make me love it.
I don't have 10, so my top 1 list:
1) Pugyuru
Lunar subbed the first 3, and then dropped it. Each episode is only 4 minutes long.

That's the wrong Kakyuusei. There are three Kakyuusei anime.
***(copies info from his Kakyuusei page so that he doesn't have to rewrite the same thing for the twentieth time)***
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are THREE anime with the title of "Kakyuusei or Kakyusei" (spelled either way). The oldest Kakyuusei anime from 1995 is unrelated to the more recent two Kakyuusei anime from 1997-1998 and 1999. Here they are in the order of their release. The easiest way to tell them apart is by examining the girls school uniforms:</P>
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2392
1. Kakyuusei OVA (4 episodes)(1995)
The girl's school uniforms are orangish-red and white with light green trim.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2393
2. Elf version Kakyuusei OVA (4 episodes)(1997-1998)
The girl's school uniforms are mostly dark red with dark blue trim.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=179
3. Kakyuusei TV series (13 + 1 bonus episode)(1999)
The girl's school uniforms are mostly dark red with dark blue trim.
The first two episodes of the Kakyusei OVA (1995) were released in English under the title of "First Loves" by SoftCel on VHS. The third and fourth episodes were NEVER released into English. The story of this Kakyuusei anime was not based off a game.
The Elf version Kakyuusei OVA (4 episodes)(1997-1998) and the Kakyuusei TV series (13 + 1 bonus episode)(1999) were based off an Elf company ren'ai (romantic love) game called "Kakyuusei". Kakyuusei is one of the most popular ren'ai games of all time.
The Age Rating of The Three Kakyuusei Anime:
Kakyuusei OVA (4 episodes)(1995) - each episode had adult scenes so all four episodes were adult. It's an old adult anime though so the adult scenes are pretty mild compared to todays adult anime standards. :heh:
Elf version Kakyuusei OVA (4 episodes)(1997-1998 ) only the fourth episode had two minutes of adult content in the adult version of the fourth episode. There is also a non-adult version of the fourth episode with a scene of Mizuho brushing her teeth and a couple of additional scenes of dialog near the conclusion. You could technically call the non-adult version the "official" version now because Pink Pineapple chose to release only the non-adult version to DVD and not the adult version. You can't see the adult version of the fourth episode unless if you buy it on old LD or VHS formats (Although you're really not missing much in the H-version anyway - just 1 minute 52 seconds of soft H scenes without much dialog).
Kakyusei TV series (13 + 1 bonus episode)(1999) was completely non-adult.
Do NOT rely on AnimeNfo's "Kakyuusei" listing here:
http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,657,uzxcvy,kakyuusei.html
Most of the info AnimeNfo gives is from the first Kakyuusei anime - the Kakyuusei OVA (1995) - (the picture, its partial English distribution title "First Loves" and anime description summary come from it). But if it is trying to be a listing for the Kakyuusei OAV (1995) anime then it wrong in the description of the number of episodes and year of release.
The Kakyuusei OVA (1995) was only 4 episodes long not 13 as shown there. I have all four of the Japanese OVA tapes and the story DEFINITELY concludes after four episodes. The AnimeNfo listing also states that its "Year of Release" was 1999 when in reality it came out in 1995. I have given them information six times hoping that they would correct their listing (since April 2003) and they still haven't changed it. Instead they just keep the wrong information up there and keep making people think that the Kakyuusei OVA (1995) was 13 episodes long or that Kakyuusei "TV" series was an adult anime. %#@*! I would prefer them to have no Kakyuusei page at all than to having one with the wrong information on it with them never correcting it. >_<
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Kakyuusei anime we were talking about was the Kakyuusei TV series. :)
The Elf Kakyuusei OVA is already being worked on. Someone said that the Kakyuusei 2 TV series will be out in October 2004.
First three are all by Takahata, so its self-explanatory:
1) Adventures of Hols, Prince of the Sun
2) Chie the Brat
3) Gauche the Cellist
4) Free Whale Peak - Don't know much about it, but apparently its a feature film by Koji Morimoto (the guy who did Noiseman Sound Insect, Magnetic Rose, and the Beyond segment from the Animatrix)
The next three are all by Osamu Tezuka:
5) Cleopatra, Queen of Sex
6) 1001 Arabian Nights
7) Journey to the West/Alakazam the Great - The liscense expired, right?
8) Space Runaway Ideon
9) Nasu: Summer of Andalusia
10) Any World Masterpiece Theater series currently unsubbed
3) Gauche the Cellist
The Japanese DVD of Gauche, the Cellist already has english subs.
