Does anyone else find it interesting in the changes to Destroyer Duafs face? His head looks very skeletal. So this proves the rods do have changes to Awakened ones as well

Dauf now looks like a crazed animal revenging on Priscilla on her mate. Was this also his uncontrolled rage or the rods spurring him on?

And great idea for Dietrich to use the abyssal feeders on the hellcats. Looks like the feeders target the kitties due to their abyssal status from the Destroyer. Dietrich also mentioned the feeders' tactics change to take down the cats, and they are almost as resilient as the cats themselves.

yeah, that's what I thought, ... seems the two ghosts were thinking Dietrich's army of AFs would be going down against the kitties within mere seconds ... and then she said, "oh wait... they can do better than this" or sth like that ...at which point the buggers started regenerating and going back at the hellspawns like maaaaaaaad XD

man what a great chapter... loved the shots of deneve and prissy in pursuit slicing through those hellcats ... and how deneve used them AGAIN to slow her down :heh:


edit: hey and I finally understand the purpose of that piece of cloth: it's not Renee's, it's something that smells of Abysall, Dietrich used it to lure the AFs to the cats, and then she throws it at the cats ...so probably, it is indeed a piece of rifuls dress :D

I don't think the AFs will last that long against the Kitties, the food literally bites back this time.

Just noticed, It wasn't that Priscilla was sick of holding back but base form Priscilla couldn't pierce Destroyer Duafs skin. She was even surprised for once after all the looking down on opponents she's been doing

It's a rare moment to see Priscilla cry out in pain or shock when Dauf slams her to the ground. :)

True while I doubt Duaf will live long after this just the same in my eyes his got his form of revenge as for a number 3 to manage to do that to something stronger than an Abssal one is good enough.

I never thought I'll say that: Dauf is impressive. It's his (last and only) moment of glory. Ghost should use his appearance to run away.
Another note - Dietrich is really smart and brave girl. Before she was afraid of ZACS, now she is using them against Hellcats.
I'm still wondering why this "generation" of Hellcats is different from previous (more humanoid less catlike)

*totally agrees* - I'm extremly happy with it, I did ask for a "Dauff-Destroyer-Zombie" spectacular last moment - I'd say this definetly qualifies as such :heh: :D ...but with Prissy being fully awakend ... he's gonna be reduced to ribbons within the first three panels of the next chap that moves on with this fight :D ... I did overlook she was surprised though ... that's saying something indeed ...

Dietrich has mentioned that each abyssal feeder has almost the power of a single digit warrior. So that's how strong each feeder is. I still don't understand what the piece of cloth Dietrich is holding belongs to. Is it to let the feeders track down whoever's scent from the cloth like dogs?

if I remember correctly, this particular batch of feeders was "conditioned" to go after Riful's yoki specifically ... so ...considering Dauffy-Boy only took her upper half with him :heh: I would specualte that once that Dauff started out on a vengance after Prissy, who was following H&D ... she snuck onto the scene of the Prissy/Riful fight, ripped a piece of Riful's dress from the remains of Riful's legs probably still lying around there, waved it in front of the remaining feeders and had them follow her ... speculating more here... once the feeders then detect that smell close to a huge awakend yoki (like the hellcats) they go into a feeding frenzy and attack and devour anything that moves ...

on 1: Dauff might not be all that strong ... we haven't seen how much damage he rly did to Prissy. what was strange was that his defense was so strong that HER attacks couldn't penetrate. To that I would reply that maybe that's the case because he had an insanly thick hide from the start ... and that hence..with the upgrade from the rods... his skin got so hardened even Prissy couldn't get through in human form.

another speculation: Beth was Prissy's first fight after fending of the first wave of rods. then she fought Riful in human form and fed on her. She did mention she still was hungry. Then she got some damage from big rods int hat short skirmish with Clare. As frightening as that might be considering her current powerlevel.. maaaaaaybe, due to seven years starvation, she is not yet at her total maximum level?!?!?! so perhaps, since her "batteries are low" so to speak she is slightly weaker against Dauff then she was against Beth? which is why she goes to full awakend form...

on 3. I hope nothing spectacular. next few chapters might tell. Knowing Yagi... we might soon get yet another kind of wicked-sick hybrid that Dae would call "interesting results of experiments left to themselves" :heh:

If you saw the latest chapter, an AF got impaled by several rods but absorbs them into its body. Instead, this gave the AF even more power to destroy and devour the hellcats. Yuma warned Dietrich about the rods but she said it was no problem for the AFs, it's a matter of gaining experience from the attack.

oh my, that is seriously bad news ... cause it means next.gen AFs are gonna be a **** scourge that's near impossible to kill ... and one can guess what kind of beings the Org will eventually send after rebellious half-AWAKEND ghosts ...and they will be hell stronger than last time H&D had a scirmish with them ...

We still don't know what this piece of cloth was for (and whether it had any purpose at all). I've written earlier in this thread why I doubted that Dietrich used it to lure the AFs. It doesn't make sense at all IMO. Haegar's explanation has loose ends also since I wouldn't see a reason why would Dietrich need to wave this cloth when AF would already know the smell of Riful and they would know where she is. If anything they should have gone after Dauff who took Riful with her.

YET there is that totally clear panel in which you see her throwing the cloth at the cat group's MIDDLE. it even has a swish sound or sth like that to heighten its importance to the reader. BEFORE that panel, neither cats nor AFs seem to be moving a great deal. AFTER that panel ... all hell breaksa loose with the AF's jumping them like crazy. What should that cloth be if not Riful's dress? as for my "loose ends" ...allow me to fill them up: there were some AFs left on the scene of the Dauff/Riful vs Prissy fight. They should have devoured the remains of Riful. When we see Dauff he has only HALF of Riful. YES, you're right the AF's should go after that half. But what if they don't have a great deal of memory once their feeding instinct sets in? maybe they were just about to follow Dauff's half riful torso, when Dietirch stepped in their way waving that piece of cloth that ALSO smelled like Riful. Having to choose between a smell right in front of them, that "offers" itself to them, and a smell already half a mile away ... they might have followed the more immediate "food" :D

as for the cloth "having no purpose at all" ... I beg you...this is Yagi, not Kubo :D :p :heh: :D

... if it's in her hands when she suddenly appears in the last panel of a chap (101)... and STILL is in her hand at the beginning of next chap(102) ... and the fight starts after she throws it away ... go figure :D

I didn't notice she threw it :D. If it was Riful's piece of cloth however and they chose to follow Dee because of it and didn't attack her (which would be strange unless she became their commander and/or was one of the people whose signatures was known to them) then I would wonder what would they do if Riful was ripped into 4 pieces and every piece would go into different directions ;P.
Seriously, how come they've started attacking after she threw this piece of cloth and not earlier (it's not like she was travelling slower than she threw a piece of cloth). To me it would make more sense if it didn't have any purpose at all haegar :].

AFs didn't attack when Dietrich threw that piece of cloth. At that time, you could see that they were still walking pass Yuma. They started to attack when one of the kitty attacked them.

As for Priscilla being hammered by Dauff - doesn't make much sense to me. He basically pummeled her with ONE hand and she couldn't do anything about it until she came back to her awakened form. Even more stupid is a fact that he CAUGHT UP with her and Priscilla could teleport from one place to another as Riful said. She also obviously sucked at youki sensing, even though earlier we've seen that she could sense it from miles away. How did he manage to sneak up on her?

Berserker Dauf and Priscilla were all well drawn throughout. Really the detail jumped. I think you can tell how well the author has changed just by looking at Awakened Priscilla (early, the extra chapters, and now).

You can see where priscilla nibbled on Riful heh.

I think the fact that he is infected with rods has a lot to do with it. Sort of Night of the Living dead, he seems like a wailing corpse.

Futhermore, Priscilla is sort of single minded it seems. Now that Claire is in front of her nothing else matters. Another point could be that she just got cocky, she has yet to make much effort to avoid any attack. Berserker Undead Dauf seems to be the only thing that could pin her down and not break instantly (like Alicia) due to his skin.

As for her speed, most of the time she had nothing in front of her, and now she has Hellcats alongside HD slowing her down with rods.

So the spoiler was true after all? Wow, and we all thought it was just a April Fool's thing :heh: Good thing I didn't miss anything

The chapter though is very weird on a few fronts - first of all, why didn't Priscilla just eat Riful and Dauf entirely like she did the villagers? She didn't leave a scrap of them behind, just their blood, which is why I thought they couldn't become AE's in the first place. Secondly, how strong could this Dauf possibly be? She fought and easily beat 2 women who were both Abyssal-level with relative-ease. How can she be forced to transform in order to fight back? Even with Dauf's trademark strength and armor, how can he be THAT tough? :/

And of course, like Gooral said, how on earth didn't the AE's attack Dietrich?!
