Yeah I was kinda wondering about the publicity too but that could just come from not wanting to deal with media outlets. Unless Sonhex's whole theory about Naru holds true, we'll have to wait and see.

Vol 3 right before the ghost appears to Mai and Naru in the classroom. Mai is looking at Naru and says
"He has long eyelashes, they even create a shadow on his face, wow. If I look at his eyes closely his eyelid has three folds rather then two."

Ive read vol 3 atleast 4 times and I just noticed this last night. Ok Im a firm believer that nothing that is written/scene in the manga is there for no reason. The fact that Mai notices the folds in Naru's eyelids makes me really wonder what is orgin is since typically people of western decent have three folds as well as longer eyelashes (and Im saying typically). So maybe Naru isnt fully Japanese. Which if this is true, the theories on over seas education might also be true.
Also in vol 1 when Mai's classmate asks Naru if he is a transfer student he says "Sort of"
