I remember someone calling out the therapist back in the first couple of episodes (don't recall if I did as well, but I remember someone did), and it seems it's confirmed that he's a Kamui sympathizer holo.
And it seems pretty clear that Mika's going to end up clouded from trying to take down Togane and protect Akane from him. |

Whoa, I was almost scared for Akane's grandma for a moment there too. I still think she should of taken down Kamui although it also looks like they discovered some new truth about him relating to an accident years ago.
With all this buildup, I'm curious to see how this case will go tbh. Oh and I really hope Mika does something useful for once soon.

This was a great episode. Hopefully after the discussion between Kasei and Akane this episode people can shut up about plot-holes about why the Dominators still work and can start talking about who is Kamui and why doesn't Sybil even want him despite knowing of his existence. Also to quote myself from the episode 2 thread :

Should could start by telling someone all the stuff she learned about Tougane.
Anyway, this epiosde was ok,much better than the last one. Sibyl's reaction makes no sense. The system has to know that something is very wrong, because it's obvious that someone else is using the dominator. Also, the system wants Kamui dead, but how are they supposed to kill him? The grandma scene was also stupid. Who called Akane and why didn't that person told her that her grandmother was alright? Why didn't she call the hosptial before or while driving there? I'm not sure if the point of that scene was to introduce a new character before killing her or just give akane the speach she need at that very moment. Knowing this season it's probably the former Why that one guy had to kill himself when Kamui was about to tell them everything is beyond me,too. The twist at the end was good and the new information about Tougane are also interesting.

I don't get how Sibyl thinks. They say they can't disable Shisui's dominator (what about the others nobody is supposed to use?) because she still has a clear hue and doing so would be admitting the system is flawed, and yet they as good as authorized Akane to kill Kamui using a gun, which is an even worse admission that the system doesn't work. Which is it? You can't have both. Either they believe in their own system to an absurd extent, or they don't.
You know, if it were only about Shisui, I would understand. Given their logic, it's true she isn't doing anything wrong. Clear hue and only killed criminals/enforcers. But they know two different dominators have been used, and that Kamui is planning to use more to screw the system, and yet they do nothing. It's a matter of common sense, which Sibyl clearly has since they recognize Kamui as a threat they should destroy. They should use every means they have to stop him, especially when it's ridiculously easy to do so without anyone ever knowing. What's worse, it actually contradicts what Sibyl said in the first season. They outright admitted to Akane their system isn't perfect and most likely never will be, but were trying to improve it and evolve, that's the very reason they keep adding brains. Now as soon as Akane implies it's flawed, they tell to shut her mouth. They saw a person without a CC yet they don't give a damn and pretend it never happened. The only sane people left in this show are Saiga and Akane. Anyway, this confirmed my suspicions that the season's entire plot only works because of Sibyl's plot induced stupidity. Any organization worth a damn knows there are times you need to bend the rules (which Sibyl already fucking did in the first season by revealing themselves to Akane and granting her the right to use paralyzer at will), which is something a hundred brains couldn't figure out on their own. The rest of the episode was pretty damn good, especially the final revelation. Shame the main premise doesn't hold up.

Was nice to see Kogami again.
Also lol @ the nervous enforcer seasoning his rice with all sorts of anti-depressants and whatnot. lol @ Yayoi's scene to remind us she's a lesbian and that's all she's still in the show for.

However if its for the reasons you have already pointed out and Sibyl ends up destroyed because of this, then this whole story for this season is going to be pretty stupid when they could of prevented this from happening at any moment. Basically for me what Sibyl has done is acceptable as long as Kamui's plan fails and they use this case to help themselves evolve even further. |

Great episode. That was a great twist. I love it when I don't see it coming.
An entire conspiracy... looks like Tsunemori's Division is going to need to start recruiting more help...

I think sibyl has a hidden agenda for Akane rather than having to do anything with kamui imo. Kamui is just the catalyst for Akane. That's why they aren't going to disable the dominators. It's likely that Sibyl already knows that Kamui will fail
Cool episode. |

I can literally feel Akane's frustration this episode. I definitely wouldn't want a superior like Kasei. lol
That said, It would be interesting to analyze what Sibyl is actually planning with our only hints being Kasei's cryptic words every now and then. There's definitely more to it than what they're letting on though. We get some back-story to Hinakawa too. I wonder how much focus they're going to give to him.

It seems like Togane might be the polar opposite of Kamui. Togane has the highest CC on record while Kamui is invisible. Togane raises people's CC while Kamui lowers it.
Quote:
As an inspector, would you assume that: a. Shisui is really in 2 places at the same time. b. Sibyl is malfunctioning. c. The dominators have been compromised. I would think it is b or c, if not both. Instead of stubbornly clinging to the fact that Shisui's CC is low so everything is fine regardless if her eyeballs are 100 ft apart, the logical course of action would be to recognise the physical impossibility of what is happening and forcefully clean up as quickly and secretively as possible while covering everything up before people start catching on. Now everything is in the open. The inspectors know what's going on and people are asking questions. There's a maniac blowing up civilians in killing sprees and attracting more attention to the case along with suspicion. The fact that dominators don't recognise Kamui is another impossibility that compromises the system. If Sibyl was curious about Kamui, or had some kind of master plan, I would've given them the benefit of the doubt, but they just washed their hands of him and said take a gun and shoot him, which is what I've been saying all along. |

Also, they expected someone to shoot him when they found him. It's just that Akane was the one, and she refused to shoot because it doesn't match her sense of justice. So, with reference to the above points alone, how has Sibyl acted any differently from how you are saying they should be acting? Furthermore, I think that some viewers still haven't figured out what Sibyl wants out of this case: I believe that, above everything else, they want to get rid of Kamui once and for all. One of the scenes in episode 5 (09:21) suggests that they've been looking for him for quite some time... If they remove Shisui's dominator authority, how are they going to track someone who can't be tracked? Going by this episode, if they remove that authority, Kamui will just kill her, and they'll have to start from scratch again in terms of looking for him.

I think we should consider the possibility that Sibyl is simply BSing Akane. Sibyl may have private reasons for doing what it's doing, and is feeding an "official" line to Akane to keep those real reasons private.
One possibility is zetsubo's idea - That Sibyl finds the whole case intriguing, and hence is deciding to let it play out a bit more to test Akane and/or Kamui. Another possibility is that Sibyl already knew/suspected that they were up against more than just one man here, and they want to catch the entire organization in one big push and not just Kamui alone. If Akane had captured/killed Kamui last episode, then that might ruin Sybil's chance to get Kamui's entire organization. If Kamui is dead, he can't be interrogated. But even interrogating him is no sure thing when it comes to capturing Kamui's full organization, as Kamui might simply refuse to talk. So perhaps Sibyl is sort of enabling Kamui to make getaways, hoping that all of this chasing around might produce some new leads for Akane. Then it's hoped that these leads might help Akane dig deeper and get most/all of Kamui's full organization.

Am I wrong in believing that the reason Kamui can't be judged by the dominators is because he is one of the children believed to have died in the plane crash. Basically the system can't identify him because he isn't in it or something along those lines. Also how is it that every episode Mika just manages to make me despise her even more, I mean take responsibility for your action don't blame others, is there seriously anyone who likes her?
