DTB is a fairer comparison than Naruto by far but I think this definitely has more gore and more 'transformation' if you will of characters depending on bunch of things.
It's just basically monsters(ghouls) and humans or monsters and monster trying to kill each other because of one reason or another. It's even listed as 'seinen' so... make what you will of it I guess? (Sorry I'm just a big fan of the manga, got my copy of vol 11 today as well :>) Edit: I don't ever recall Hide wearing headphones but I guess it fits, it's a nice touch. He and Rize look nice regardless though.

But I just finished the first 3 volumes of the manga and ... well, subject matter and general themes like this are not really my cup of tea, but this one is has a bit more to it than the other similar works i have tried in the past. The main character in particular as he finds his place in the world becomes more and more interesting, and though the narrative is slow it is also methodical and purposeful, while the "world building" is pretty effective as well. Color me surprised, but I just may give the series a try next season....

I want so much an haunted house , a crazy dark atmosphere
An heroine alone on this shit , resolving an impossible mysteries , with rain, thunder , crime , corpse ,and a crazy killer going after her , some kind of another-like Oh my god ,japan please hear me ! (okay kindaichi will probably have this but still) ANyway since it's seems to be a seinen , that's cool , i'll give an honest try.
