Wow, the Japanese are sure innovative.

Can't imagine what it tastes like.
Maybe try eating some cucumber and drinking Pepsi at the same time? XD

"This is Ice Cucumber. Not just cucumber, but ICE cucumber. You know ICE. It’s that made up taste that you can find in Gatorade and Shaving Lotion and Mouthwash and Windshield Wiper Fluid."

I guess I would try it...

Also, wasn't there a blue rasberry pepsi for a while? I am not sure if I recall correctly.

Coke == corrosive battery acid
Pepsi == corn syrup pancreas killer
RC Cola == the taste of battery acid with the sweet of corn syrup
Dr Pepper == prune-laced acid with corn syrup

Seriously, I prefer Coke or Dr. Pepper ... all the "additive drinks" like Lime Pepsi just have me asking: "why not just add a slice of lime, duh?"

Ice Cucumber Pepsi just sounds ..... very avoidable. Anyone whose bitten into slightly off cucumber knows. Its kind of like catching a Dr Pepper that's gone south ---- prune juice acid.

(goes back to tea and coffee ...)

So... what did it taste like?

The first thing that comes to mind when I read "ice cucumber pepsi" is "sea cucumber flavored pepsi, and the sea cucumber happens to be frozen". I'm going to go ahead and assume it's really supposed to mean the fruit, but with that zingy "ice" taste to it as well.

I really don't care for Pepsi, but I would be willing to try this one. And if it turns out gross, it's an automatic story to tell to friends.

They even have a drink called Pocari Sweat, Ice Cucumber doesn't sound nearly as nasty as that .

Man! Why the hell with all these new tastes? Are they necessary to boost sales?

Hmm? Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound like Pocari Sweat and Calpis are new -- they've been out for years. O_o

During my last trip to japan I tried Pocari Sweat. It's pretty good. It's kind of gatorade-like, sweet and sour together. It tastes like a watered-down version of Calpis water (also tried that) which has a bit of a stronger flavour, although it's still pretty watered down itself. Both reminded me of sweetened lemonade (but watered down lemonade).

Next time, I have to try natto...

True, and given how often drinks come and go, Pocari and Calpis are some of the old timers of the bunch, IMHO. I like Calpis also - although I drink more bottled water these days. And that plum(?)-flavored water that came out not too long ago is, IMHO, good also.

The oxygenated water craze seems to be dying down, though. Thankfully.

Back onto the topic, actually, I haven't seen the Ice Cucumber Pepsi in convenience stores in awhile now. There used to be an entire display case with these recently in a nearby convenience store, but now I can't find them anywhere.

That's a shame, though I'm not surprised... I'd be totally willing to try it if they'd keep it around when I get there.
