It probably just depends on how patient you are. Alot of people just see the ridiculously cute characters in anime and think it's all fun and games.

It depends on how well you get along with your siblings. Since no one gets to choose their own siblings, how well you get along with them is based a certain amount on random chance.

I got along with my younger sister just fine and we pretty much never argued with each other. I was lucky in the life lottery that I didn't end up with one of those pain-in-the-neck sibilings a lot of people have.

If I didn't have the sister I had, I think I'd like Manami Sugihara (Sentimental Journey/Graffiti) as a younger sister.

Sasami from Tenchi would be my first pick, as a few people have already said.

Miu from Ichigo Mashimaro. She'd be a riot... all the time. Actually, any of the girls from Ichigo Mashimaro would be good. Ana is adorable, Chika has the sarcastic, level-headed bit going, and Matsuri is just pure cuteness.

Enma Ai from Jigoku Shoujo. Awesome sister material.

Older sister material, Raquel from Scrapped Princess. Best big sister ever, no competition. Yuuko from xxxHOLiC (and Tsubasa) would be good (much) older sister, or maybe even motherly material. ^^

Dream Topic hear. Holy smokes oh....god to many awesome lil sis types, Mihiro Ardygun from Super Robot Wars W seems like a good pick along with Konata Izumi from Lucky Star and maybe Ink Nijihara/Moetan and Eve from Black Cat so:

I still think Racquel Casul would be the one that would make my life most entertaining if she was my little sister, with Hanajima Saki being close second, but the new girl I would find most interesting as my little sister would be Izumi Konata. Having her as my little sister would mean one more person in my family who can understand what I like, thus making my life less boring. Of course, I would probably have to become her math/science tutor given my current profession and her grades, but, believe me, I am seeing many who are worse than her when it comes to studying habit and abilities.
