19th century history and people are getting married as low as 12 and commonly at 16 or so, then you look at today and many are railing against people even older than that just experimenting and taking their first steps - something much less serious than marriage. You'd think our modern society with all this sexual freedom and gay marriage finally getting legalized and whatnot that we would be more tolerant of high school age people who want to start experiencing serious relationships and yet the opposite has happened

Yeah, but I think that their lives were half over at that point, people didnt live as long as they do now so they had to start younger. Also there are places in the world where that is still true and I don't think they (the 12 year olds) are very happy about it. And as far as tollerating serious relationships between highschool kids, as if teenage pregnacy wasn't a big enough problem already, now you want to promote it?

Hear hear. There are plenty of reasons for teens not to experiment with such a serious thing as sexual intimacy. It really should wait until you've been labeled an adult, and all the responsibility for the act is on you.

Conservatives can have good reasons for their moral stances.... we're not all reading from the Bible/Torah/Koran and following the script. If we are gay-friendly, tolerant of others, like booze/guns/pornography, etc., they call us "South Park" Conservatives. If you ever watch that show you'll know it actually has a conservative message. I really like that.

Kempis Curious, about that teen sex.
When I was about 13, I almost had sex with a girl I really liked.
She wanted to, but I wasn't ready yet and I guess I was also scared.
It was kind of sudden and I never expected she would suggest such a thing.
I wanted to but I know it wasn't right, so we didn't do it and in the end I'm glad we didn't, we were too young.

But I don't think teen sex is wrong, 16+ is okay imho but 18+ would be better.
As Wandering A.I. said, sex at a young age isn't unnatural or something bad.
As long as they do it safe and if both wanted it and are ready for it, it's okay, imho.

I just hate the way people think about "teen sex" ...
People are ready when they are ready no matter what age!
BUT people think wrong about it, because the average age is something about 15/16 or something.. so if people have sex at 13 or so.. than people think it's wrong...

I don't mind age really... age isn't the most important!
The most important thing with sex, is that people love each other and that they use protection and just be carefull!
