(L) Seto no Hanayome TV series

This show had been on my backlog but in the last 2 days I just watched ep.1-12 and am loving it. I just had to make a few avatars from ep.8 of the stick-figure fighting. I didn't see anyone else make them but if I missed them I apoligize.

Ah and yes words cannot express how downright cool san looks in that outfit of hers with the sword...I feel sorry for any woman that tries to lay a hand on nagasumi from here on out hah. Can't wait to see where the insanity that is this show leads to next...

I'll only add my supplimental comments here:

As Ms. Momoi took her seat at the front table, she noticed a large pitcher of ice water in front of her. She carefully picked it up with both hands and moved it to the side, asking someone else to take care of it. . . .

Now, the real reason she did so was so that she could see her audience better. I doubt the water would have presented any risk to Ms. Momoi’s life or limb(s), as opposed to her SnH alter ego.

Nevertheless, I could not help but happily imagine the little bit of San within her was urging due caution.

The lineup of people who wanted to ask her questions never got shorter than 20, and a number of those were. . .shall we say. . .fanboys. Not a surprise, and nothing necessarily wrong with that. . .but a bit annoying when they each spent three minutes of Q&A time on the audience mike before asking their questions.

Admiration is fine; Ms. Momoi seemed fine with it; but, as a lady sitting next to me commented, the surprise was that none of the fanboys proposed marriage. [A couple of them did ask her for a job!]

The next day, Ms. Momoi’s concert did happen. She wore a half-length kimono that almost looked like a patchwork of vibrant red, yellow and white colors. With this was a puffy skirt and body-bow that was colored a vibrant slightly-yellowish green.

She enthusiastically belted out eight songs (including the opening for Seto no Hanayome), took a break while a guitarist played two songs, then resumed with five or six songs (including the encore).

Ms. Momoi would play to different parts of the audience, change her hand-waves, etc. From time to time, she would throw out signature souvineers (e.g., a couple of glow sticks, her “power glove”, and some red balls that did have her signature on them.)

My complements to the people who brought the extra glow sticks for the audience. The large arena space made the 500 fans looks small in comparison, but the glow sticks helped the audience look larger than it was.

Alright, finished Ep14 on nico.

one thing to say : this episode can be potentially hazardous and dangerous, if it hit your sense of humor, your stomach and lungs are doomed. (not as much as ep 10 and 12, still extremely crazy)

It should be better to watch it without spoiler, but it doesn't disturb too much (i think). summary in spoilers. (the critical "bomb" is also in spoiler, double layed )
This episode isn't really Dialogue heavy, but of course, i'm not proficient with japanese at all, so some points might be simply out of the whack.

Spoiler for summary of episode 14:

Maki is in a pinch !! Fearsome and unknown enemy ahead, she is trying to flee, but it appears she has been caught...

The episode then begins with everyone, with happy breakfast... except for "oto-san", excluded of the group (ho well... sounds like Luna stole his place )

The trio leave and are going to school, until they see Maki, in panic against the "monster"... which is in fact... a cat.

Nagasumi is amused, and find the cat quite cute, but at his big surprise, San and Luna are extremely distant. Apparently, they have an instinctive fear of Cats, just like maki.
Nagasumi tries to show them the cat, that it is completely harmless and cute. however, the cat slightly touch Luna's hand with his paw, and the 3 Merfolk freak out.
Nagasumi then ask if every inhabitants of the sea are scared of Cats. Maki replies that it is absolute (something like that)

In school, nagasumi brings the cat in class, and every "normal" people are just around him, also thinking it is indeed a cute cat. Mawari isn't happy and of course, recall Nagasumi the rules of the society, but it didn't take long for her to fall in the charm of the happy neko ^^

San and Luna wonder how the cat can be so popular. Maki is EXTREMELY angry, and will take her revenge.


Later on, Nagasumi approaches Kai, obviously hiding the cat in his back. Kai, a bit suspicious, ask Saru about this. It apepars Saru is complimenting Kai, and both think Nagasumi has a request or something (thus, Kai obviously feels superior, as future San's groom, well you know...). nagasumi then says it isn't anything like this.

Then, she shows the cat to Kai, asking if it isn't cute, which make the killer whaler instantly step back, drawing out his Katana.
Nagasumi tease Kai, trying to go forward with few steps. Kai is in panic, and then flee.

Nagasumi is delighted and completely cunning, thinking he can use the cat against san's father, until Masa shows up.
To much of his surprise, Masa is unaffected by the cat, and rather grab it and pet it. Nagasumi ask if Masa doesn't fear cats. The later answer that he couldn't helpt about it when he was a kid. he tried to fight his fear before and succeed. Masa talks something about men shouldn't be scared or something.

Masa leaves, since he finished his lesson. Nagasumi is disappointed, since it appears the cat won't affect Gozaburou, so it won't be funny/interesting. Speaking of the devil, Seto-sensei popped behind him, and is quite curious (and of course angry) about what Nagasumi was trying to do to scare him, and having fun.

Gozaburou is crushing Nagasumi's head, but notice that the later has something in his arms. Nagasumi tries to hide it, but useless. Gozaburou's arm reach the cat, and it touch him.

. . .

San's father is completely OWNED, and is already like... 50 meters far away from Nagasumi and the cat. He ask what is this, and Nagsumi replies it is a cat.
San's father tries to hide his fear, but nagasumi then says he should pet him, which of course, make the former reluctant. Nagasumi immediately chase "Seto-Sensei" with the cat, which makes him running like mad.

Nagasumi is delighted, and enjoy his triumph, saying to Nawari that Seto-sensei is scared of cats, which surprise them, considering his look.

San then arrives, and talks with nagasumi. While nagasumi says that she shouldn't be afraid of the cat, San is a bit sad and says nagasumi shouldn't tease her father with the cat.

In fact, Gozaburou had kinda... a trauma when he was a kid with a cat, and is completely scared to death by the cats since then.
After the explanations, it is now Seto-sensei lesson... who is in an extremely BAD mood, cursing and treatening Nagasumi with his stare. The "vile" cat lover is scared, but then shows him the cat, which stuns gozaburou, but increasing his rage in the process.

Maki is hidden in his desk, and both are talking about countermeasures and revenge. After a lil chat, Gozaburou decided to use "IT", which surprises maki.
Gozaburou is extremely high spirited, much like how he was against edomae in ep 10.


Fujishiro is origanizing a soccer activity. (they are talking about "seto", but didn't really understood)
He then presents 3 players. These 3 are however... well... fishy
It is revealed that the fish trio are in fact expert agents... (kinda...) Special group of Gozaburou.

Nagasumi is stunned how these could be not noticed in human society, considering their faces.

Nagasumi, Kai (with of course his Astro Suit) and Saru VS the Fish Trio.
Just at the start of the match,the fish agents attack nagasumi but... in fact, one of them is asking who is "mischiro nagasumi" among the 3. Nagasumi points him to Kai, who is completely assaulted by the trio

Gozaburou is disappointed and angry, and ask Maki to lead the trio.
They are approaching Nagasumi once again, but they are of course afraid of the cat. maki tries to cheer them up and order them to attack despite their whine. Nagasumi wonders what they are doing, but the cat jumps and run at them, which completely freak them out, and they run for their lives.

Gozaburou come to watch if they are succeeding, but Maki scream he must run away... which he does, definitely
The following scenes switch between our POV, as watchers then... with THEIR POV XD. Kai is walking around, but unfortunately for him, got caught by the mob, and is also escaping ^^

Things are helpless, and one of the fish agents is "caught" by the cat, which create a complete panic among the merfolks. Nagasumi tries to calm them down, and removing the cat from the fish but...

Spoiler for Critical point, extremely crazy:

Everyone are completely insane.

Gozaburou lose his temper and... push the fire emergency button. Due the emergency and the location of the alarm (a BIG school), the firemen are dispatching 4 trucks...

Kai COMPLETELY lost it, and uses his cellphone, calling EMERGENCY REINFORCEMENTS which are...

a Aicraft Carrier !

Standby for a Take off. This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill !

(the above lines are NOT in engrish ! )

Fighters (F35?) are on the way, 7 helicopters are already around the school, while the Firemen are already there, yelling for orders and evacuation.Students are evacuating the School, but completely in a disarray and chaos. Maki is almost trampled, but the cat saved her.

The "caught" fish is "dying, and gozubarou is going EMO. melodrama, then gozaburou shout for help. Nagasumi is just... speechless and says he is safe. Ren is angry and beat the crap of her husband.

Masa is excusing himself and for the others for the ruckus with the firemen (he is quite panicked, and extremely embarassed O_O )
Ren is scolding HARD gozubarou, his henchmen and Kai.

Nagasumi, San and Luna go back home, but Gozaburou doesn't give up and prepare another plan, which isn't pleasing Maki.

The plan is to disguise one of the fishes as a girl and faking a "damselle in distress"... of course it utterly fails, but nagasumi plays dumb on purpose.
Surprisingly, the fish is brave enough and grab the cat, and... throws it far away... The cat landed in the river, and is drowning. (my opinion : -100 points for gozubarou and his henchmen...)

The 3 students are shocked. Nagasumi wants to save the cat, but san stop him. Then san says that water is her field.

San then jumps and dive in the water, grabbing the cat. However, the cat isn't calm and moves a lot, which doesn't help san. Suddenly, maki rushes in, with her jet ram shell, grabs the cat and make their way out of the water. a bound is created !
San then picks the cat up, thanking Maki.

Nagasumi rushes and wants to pick the cat, since san is afraid of it. this scene amuses and pleases Ren, but isn't happy at all, and we see the 4 "idiot" mermen completely beaten up.

The episode ends with maki, trying to escape from the cat

Much like EP12, episode 14 is extremely slow at the start. then, at the 2 third of the episode, things get simply crazy and delightful. (much earler than the "bomb" of ep12)
unfortunately, i don't have any screencaps for the moment, gotta add them when i grab a good Raw. (the one available is 600M... thanks, but no thanks...)

as a side note : The OP sequence is slightly different. 3 characters, but you will understand.
OTOH, the ED is completely different (song and sequence), sung by San's Seiyuu, and it is quite dynamic ^^

From your summary, I finally remembered where this was in the manga. Well, I all needed to read was the people's reaction to the cat.

Once I finish downloading that 600mb+ monster of a file, I'll be back with my summary...... (scary, 600...)

The opening had a different speech, and the three stupid brothers that I hate more than Kai are moved closer to the front. The ending was pretty good, with a dish reserved for Akane (probably).

ahh yes this is great slow to start off but in the end another very funny episode ^.^
as klashikari has already done a stunning job providing a summary ill list my highlights :3

1) breakfast table with someone obviously being ignored ~



2) attack of the cat part 1...i knew this was going to happen the same thing happened to san when mawari unleashed her gates of catalon in one of the earlier eps ~ being "seafood" i guess cats are a natural enemy of san and the others XD



3) kai is also fcking scared off his butt (lol) ~ and ive noticed that saru is being a total suck up now...*sigh* money makes the world go round i suppose ~



4) hahahahaha!!! notice it is not blood XD yep san's dad is also scared of cats despite being a tough guy ~



5) nagasumi is happy that he has the weapon that can deal with his enemies



6) past story on why san's dad is petrified of cats...



7) assassination trio ordered by gozo to take out nagasumi...he trickes them and the take out kai instead...



8) but noone can stop the demon cat! thus a sacrafice was made by kai (HaHaHa!)



9) gozo panics and presses the fire alarm...and to make matters worse kai calls for his army! haha ~ amongst all the chaos maki risked being crushed but was saved by the cat...



10) gozo mourns for the dead and ren gets pissed off! haha gogo ren! masa san saying "sorry sorry!!!"



11) on the way home gozo still hasnt given up on taking out the cat...and deploys the lame tactic known the mankind...the art of drowning the poor thing dam you gozo just dam you!



12) in the end san and maki saves the day with ren looking on at the bakas...

It is about damn time Nagasumi has a way to fight the sea creatures. Besides four of them(Three and a secret Luna), everyone else hates him and wants to kill him. Now he has a powerful ally! Just think of what would happen if he got a hold of a bigger cat like a Lion or Tiger, ownage..ha.

I wonder if by the end of the story, anime or manga(Probably manga), if more of the sea creatures would like him.

you could say yourmom was where ayako orginated from... There was a period where yourmom was disbanded and ayako rose from the ashes... Then for some reason (not quite sure of the details myself) yourmom came back again while ayako has become quite established themselves

I believe only two members of Your-mom left and formed/joined Ayako (I think formed). The rest of the Your-mom members did nothing for a while but then all of a sudden started subbing again (with a few new members, I think). AFAIK they're fully seperate groups now but are on pretty good terms with each other.

Anyway...SnH Episode 14...

Yes, and no. Your-mom never had a huge team count. 2 members was all there was back then.

Ayako was formed after more people decided to help out the two members, and the decision was made to start afresh, since it is pretty much a new group altogether.

Your-Mom was supposed to be dead and be left dead, but returned to sub Geass after a few members in Ayako decided to work on it, and that there was demands for it on another forum (Details could be found on the blog).

To date, Ayako and Your-mom are basically one team, just that one does it with a little more "quality" (basically, more checks. Nicer signs. The usual jazz), while the other is a speedsub team.

I think Nagasumi should record San's voice, or ask her Eyuu no Uta more often. His "dragon" form is impressive (and i really hope they will show it once again : Nagasumi reach the top in the scale of GAR)

that would be interesting too. i think the unbalanced situation is a bit too much. But i think some of the merfolks will calm down (actually, nakajima isn't there anymore (well for the moment), Fujishiro can't do anything, and Maki appears to calm down a lot these days IMO)
