@Kha-chan: Hehe, I tried to keep them kinda original. I thought about a type of gunblade before but StrikerS anime did something like that so I decided not to.
@Kirika-chan: Thank you ^^ I havn't seen you around here much, you pretty new here?
Here's a reposting of some stuff of mine in the OC thread - please read in order for best understanding.
Spoiler for Messages in the Night:
Location: TSAB Technology Division
Time: 0200 MST
Aurion Dauer sighed and stretched back in his chair, then slumped forward to return his gaze to the screen in front of him.
Looks like it’s gonna be another all-nighter… better get something to drink so I can stay awake.
As he got up to go grab some coffee, a ping resounded back at his workstation, letting him know that there was a call waiting for him.
Who could possibly be awake at THIS hour? He wondered, as he settled back into his chair and opened the call screen.
“Well… I never thought that I’d see you up this late ever again…”
“Can we skip the ribbing and get the point?”
Aurion raised an eyebrow. “You okay? Usually you just sit there and take whatever I hand out.”
The caller sighed. “I’ve got a great deal on my mind right now, and I’m not in the mood for chit-chat.”
“Okay, if you say so. So, what exactly do you need?”
“I’d like to have another Device.”
“What you have is pretty good, isn’t it?”
“Yes, but it’s not compatible with multiple magic styles.”
“You’re planning on learning another style of magic?” Dauer asked.
“Yeah. Recent developments have made me realize that I need to take more of an active role in combat – and that means increasing my versatility.”
“Alright – so what’re you looking for?”
The figure held up a hand and ticked off criteria.
“First, I need a fairly large cartridge clip – ten cartridges per load at the minimum. Second, I need a Device with a fairly fast processing speed – I need to be able to switch Devices at a moment’s notice.”
“How many spells do you plan on learning?”
The figure paused. “Only five or six at the most – and they’ll mostly be offensive spells, since I’ll keep my primary Device engaged in order to make use of its defensive and movement spells.”
“Anything else?”
“I need the Device within four days.”
Aurion sat up. “FOUR DAYS?! Do you have ANY idea how long it takes to create a Device?”
“Then take one that already exists and tweak the hell out of it! The 82nd has only four days before we’re placed back on the active duty roster – and after that, we could be called to go anywhere at any time.”
“So you plan on learning a new style of magic in four days?” Dauer retorted.
The figure glared at him through the screen. “I’m going to be spending a great deal of time training in those four days – and I’ll have the chance to work with users of my secondary style. Plus, there’re people within the 82nd that I can learn from – so don’t worry about me, just have that Device ready to go in four days.”
The former Enforcer sighed. “I’ll see what I can do. Good night.”
“Good night.”
With that, the screen closed and Aurion turned to one of his screens. He typed in the criteria given to him, and a list of already existing Devices that fit the criteria appeared.
He went through about a third of the list before he found one that would require little modification.
Looks like the only mods this Device would require is a bigger cartridge clip – otherwise, it’s golden.
The name of the Device flashed on the screen – APALIS.
Spoiler for A Visitor from Afar:
Location: The Home of Adm. Lindy Hallaoun, Uminari City, Japan, The 97th Non-Administrated World, Earth
Time: 1900 MST (Local Equivalent)
Lindy Hallaoun had just settled in for the evening – she had curled up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and was ready to begin her weekend movie marathon when she heard a knock at the door. Figuring that it was probably just Mr. Harada looking for his dog – AGAIN – she ignored it.
The knock came again, more insistent this time. Again, Lindy ignored it.
This pattern continued until Lindy realized that whoever was at the door was pounding so hard that they might very well bust down the door the next time they tried. She sprinted to the door, shouting that she was coming. Lindy steeled herself for the oncoming verbal barrage, and opened the door…
It never came. The visitor was NOT Mr. Harada, but another familiar figure.
“Hello, Lindy. Mind if I come in?”
Lindy was stunned beyond words. She merely gestured inside, and the visitor proceeded inwards, removing his boots and coat.
The two proceeded back into the living room, and sat opposite each other on the couch. The visitor gestured towards the screen.
“I see that you’re still into Earth movies.”
“Yes,” Lindy replied. “It’s a wonderful way to spend time – either alone or together. Speaking of which, I’ve heard from Fate-chan that you have some prospects…”
The visitor sighed. “That girl needs to learn to keep her nose out of other people’s love lives – her AND her three Ace friends.”
Lindy smiled. “Now, now, Arcas, you know that she’s just trying to help a nice boy like you find a nice girl to settle down with.”
Arcasaviel Emira, the Dragonslayer, nodded heavily. “I know, but she could at least be a little more… indirect in her efforts.”
“True enough,” Lindy laughed. “So, what can I help you with?”
“I’ve been having trouble pulling my own weight in combat without Full Drive Mode, and I figured that increased versatility would help out.”
“Okay, I can see that… how long do you have here on Earth?”
“Just until we’re placed back on the active duty roster.”
Lindy was puzzled. “Shouldn’t that have happened a few days after you got back?”
Arcas nodded. “It was SUPPOSED to, but then this whole mess with the Necron came up, and all available units were to respond, and bureaucracy, and mucho paperwork, and…”
“I get the idea. So, when?”
“One week, give or take a few days.”
Lindy’s eyes widened. “A WEEK?! Even Nanoha couldn’t teach you Mid-magic in one week! What makes you think I can?”
“Lindy, I don’t care what sort of training from Hell you have to put me through to learn Mid-magic in a week. Besides, I’m just looking for the basics – nothing fancy at all. I’ve got the general idea for the spells I want, too.”
“What about a Device?”
“Right here,” Arcas answered, producing from a pocket a silver playing card with the outline of a red diamond on it. Arcas spun the card in midair, and it glowed, changing into its active form.
“Lindy, meet the Intelligent Device Apalis.”
“Hello, Apalis.”
[Hello, Admiral. How are you this evening?]
Lindy looked over the design. “It looks an awful lot like Chrono’s Durandal…”
“Yeah, I found out from Dauer that the team who designed it also put Durandal together.”
Indeed it did appear like Durandal, but with a silver and crimson motif rather than Durandal’s white and blue. Mounted near the top of the staff was an interesting-looking mechanism.
“What’s that?”
“Like it? It’s a permanent version of Aurion Dauer’s Roulette cartridge system – holds up to a dozen cartridges at a time. So, how about it, Admiral? Will you teach me?”
Lindy looked at Apalis, then nodded slowly.
“All right, I’ll teach you what I know – on two conditions.”
“Name them.”
“First, that you not complain about how hard I’m going to push you.”
“Agreed, and the second?”
“That you sit yourself down here and enjoy the movie with me!”
“Yes, Ma’am!”
And with that, the Admiral and the Dragonslayer’s time together began…
Spoiler for Seven Days, Part I:
Location: The Home of Adm. Lindy Hallaoun, Uminari City, Japan, The 97th Non-Administrated World, Earth
Time: 0730 MST (Local Equivalent)
Lindy Hallaoun’s alarm clock beeped loudly, and the TSAB Admiral reached over to turn it off. As she looked at the time, she wondered: Why am I getting up so early? She then remembered her visitor from last night. That’s right – Arcas came by, wanting to learn Mid-magic, and I agreed to teach him.
With that in mind, Lindy headed down the hall to what used to be Chrono’s old room to wake Arcas. She found the Dragonslayer sprawled out over the bed, and promptly tried to wake him, shaking him at first. Arcas batted her hand away and burrowed deeper into the blankets. Lindy stripped them off the bed and shook him again. No response. Next, she tried to take Arcas’ pillow, but found that the Phantasm simply refused to let go.
Finally, Lindy decided to use the waking tactic she had developed for use on her own daughter. She gripped the underside of the mattress, and lifted, sending Arcas to the floor in a heap.
The Dragonslayer put one arm up on the bed, and pulled himself off the floor, glaring at Lindy.
“You don’t have to be so rough, you know. I would have been out of bed soon.”
Lindy replied, her old command skills coming back to her. “While you’re in my house, and learning magic from me, you’ll live by MY rules. Understand?”
Arcas muttered a reply.
“I can’t hear you.”
“I said, yes ma’am.”
“Good. Now go get showered and dressed.”
Arcas left the room, carrying a set of clothes with him. As he did, Lindy hurried back to her own room, where she showered and dressed. She then headed down to the kitchen, and began to prepare breakfast.
Meanwhile, Arcas was still in the shower, letting the warm water run over his body in an attempt to wake himself fully. As he cleaned himself up, he wondered about his decision to learn Mid-magic. Should I have really come here? Am I learning magic to help out the squad, or just to salve my own pride? The Dragonslayer shook his head, trying to rid himself of the notion that it was inadequacy that had brought him to this decision. Well, they say that time tells all, so by the end, I should have my answer. With that, Arcas turned off the water, and stepped from the shower. After drying himself, he pulled on his clothes, and made his way to the kitchen.
After breakfast, Lindy contacted a TSAB outpost on Earth, where they could spend their days training. Once they had gathered all the necessary materials, the two transferred to the outpost.
Arcas and Lindy appeared within the facility, and were promptly escorted to a training room where they could work. After they engaged their Jacket and Armor, and Arcas had prepped Apalis, Lindy turned to him.
“So, where do you want to start?”
“For now, let’s just do some basics – nothing complicated, just getting used to a different style.”
For the next five hours, Lindy and Arcas worked on basic control of Mid-magic. Arcas was relieved to learn that defensive and movement magics relied on the same skills he had acquired with Neo-Velkan magic, and therefore the only category where he would be starting from zero would be offensive spells. Then, it was time to break for lunch.
Arcas and Lindy talked as they ate their food.
“I have to tell you, Arcas, in all my years with the Bureau, I’ve never seen someone be able to pick up magic as fast as you can.”
“Thanks for the compliment, but let’s not forget that these are just the basics. Things are only going to get harder from here on in.”
“True. But remember, once you have the concepts down, it’s just a matter of practice and application to improve.”
“‘Practice and application.’ You won’t believe how many times I’ve heard that from your son.”
“Chrono-kun’s a living example of that.”
Arcas nodded, then paused. “You know, if we manage to pull this off, you write one of those Dummies books.”
Lindy laughed. “I could, couldn’t I? Lindy Hallaoun: TSAB Admiral, housewife, and now bestselling author!”
The two broke down into laughter as they considered the absurdity of it.
After lunch, Arcas and Lindy had returned to the training room, ready to begin their afternoon session. After a quick discussion (and a little begging), it was decided that Arcas would face off against three Enforcers for actual combat experience.
The Enforcers engaged their Barrier Jackets and Storage Devices, and then the battle began.
Arcas spent the first two minutes of battle evading and blocking the mage’s spells. This is looking all too familiar… Arcas thought. I need a way break out of this entrapment. Arcas promptly analyzed the mages’ battle strategy and formation. Two mid-range attackers up front, with one long-range attacker in back. If I try and get too close, all three will be firing at me. On the other hand, I simply can’t sit back and use range to my advantage either – the mid-range mages will see the spell coming and block it with a shield. The only way for me to win, Arcas concluded, is to break up their defensive formation. But how to do that? Arcas only had a few spells currently available, and none were specialized to pierce defenses. Of those spells, one is a standard Buster-type attack – that’s out. I either need control of speed in order to break up the formation. Arcas deliberated for another ten seconds, and promptly made his choice. Arcas flew backwards, putting some range between himself and the Enforcers.
“All right, Apalis. It’s time to see what we’ve learned.”
[Yes, Sir.]
“Apalis, Triple Load.”
[Load Cartridge.] Apalis promptly ejected three cartridges. [Ready.]
Arcas launched his first offensive spell of the session. “Blazing Snipe!”
With that command, a long, crimson bolt of energy flew forth from the Device, headed towards the mages. As predicted, a pair of shields was deployed to intercept the spell. But Arcas had counted on that, and sent the spell swinging wide in from the left. The mages repositioned their shields to intercept the controlled magic shot, only to fall into Arcas’ trap.
“Do it, Apalis!”
[Flare Arrow.]
The shot spiraled upward quickly, and fired itself downwards, into the middle of the defensive position. The shot exploded, scattering the mages. While they were unharmed, their defensive position was now broken. Arcas wasted no time in taking advantage of the disoriented mages.
“Ashes to ashes, dust to dust!”
[Flame Buster.]
The long range mage managed to react the fastest – he saw the massive column of fire incoming and promptly turned tail, flying like hell. The Buster slammed into one Enforcer’s auto-guard magic full force, and clipped the other. Once the smoke cleared, one Enforcer had his staff over his head in both hands, signaling that he had been ‘eliminated.’ The other mid-range Enforcer, however, bombarded Arcas’ position with a Crossfire Shoot. Arcas responded immediately.
“Scatter all to the winds, Apalis!”
[Whirlwind,] the Device intoned. It ejected another three cartridges, and a cone of wind issued forth from Apalis’ tip, sending the shots wide once intercepted by the high speed winds. Arcas then issued another command.
“Let none escape!” With that, the wind disappeared, only to reappear around the remaining mid-range mage, binding him. Arcas then flew up and pointed Apalis at him.
“Bang. You’re dead.”
The wind died, and the mage returned to the ground with his companion. Arcas then whirled around to confront the long-range mage… only to see an incoming attack. “Apalis!” The Device ejected two cartridges, then spoke.
[Afterburner.]
Arcas rocketed at full speed out of the path, only for the shot to change direction and follow him. A controlled shot magic… only way to stop it is to distract the shooter… Arcas spotted the mage, and executed an Immelmann turn to evade the pursuing attack.
The Dragonslayer flew straight at the mage, the shot hot on his heels.
“Okay, Apalis, when I give the word, slam on the brakes.”
[Yes, Sir.]
Arcas looked over his shoulder, once, twice, three times. “Now, Apalis!”
[Full Stop.]
Arcas was jerked to a halt, and the magical attack blew right by him, headed for its user. The mage saw the incoming assault and evaded, the shot exploding against the wall. The Enforcer jerked his head up, only to be met with a crimson glow. Slowly, he raised his staff over his head, and proceeded down to the floor, followed by Arcas.
The lead Enforcer, who had used the Crossfire Shoot against the Dragonslayer, offered his hand.
“Congrats, kid. For a beginner, you sure taught the three of us a lesson.”
“Thanks, but I was very fortunate.”
“Fortune favors the bold, kid. Don’t forget that.”
Lindy ran out onto the floor and tackle-hugged Arcas.
“Stars and Spells, Arcas, you WON! Against three veteran Enforcers, no less! We may be writing that book sooner than you think!”
Location: The Home of Adm. Lindy Hallaoun, Uminari City, Japan, The 97th Non-Administrated World, Earth
Time: 2000 MST (Local Equivalent)
After a few more sparring sessions, and some pointers from Lindy, the pair returned to the Hallaoun residence for the evening. While Lindy was still in peak condition, Arcas was absolutely exhausted. After showering and changing clothes, Arcas promptly flopped down onto the couch. Lindy had just loaded another movie into the player, and was headed into the kitchen to prepare dinner.
“Arcas, be a gentleman and help a girl make dinner, will you?”
Arcas groaned, but left the couch and proceeded into the kitchen.
“You know that I have absolutely no cooking skills whatsoever.”
“Now, now, you know that that’s not true…”
“It’s absolutely true! Lindy, when I got up the other day to have breakfast, I ate meatloaf. MEATLOAF! And not even straight meatloaf! I had a meatloaf sandwich, and used pancakes as bread! Now does THAT sound like someone with anything resembling cooking skills?!”
“Well then,” Lindy said, handing Arcas a large pot. “We’ll just have to change that. You can start by boiling water.”
“What exactly are we making?” Arcas asked as he filled the pot with water.
“Well, since you need practice, we’ll just make spaghetti – it’s simple enough, and the only way you can REALLY ruin it is by turning it into charcoal, which won’t happen.”
Under Lindy’s watchful eye, Arcas did manage to make dinner for the both of them without ruining anything. After dinner, they headed back to the living room and settled into the couch for the night’s movie.
“So, what do we have tonight?”
“You’re going to like this – it’s the sequel to what we watched last night.”
“Another ‘Alien’ movie? Just how many did they make?”
“Five, at last count.”
“And this is just number TWO? We’re not watching ALL of them, are we?”
“No – just the original three.”
With that, Lindy started the sci-fi action movie.
During the movie, despite Arcas’ interest in seeing how Earth people depicted this “Alien,” he started nodding off, a result of his intensive training session that day. Lindy noticed this, and paused the movie.
“Are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” the Dragonslayer responded. “Just tired is all.”
“Do you want to lie down?”
“Can I?”
“Sure,” Lindy replied, wondering why Arcas had asked permission. She soon discovered why – Arcas stretched out on the couch, laying his head in Lindy’s lap. Arcas looked up at the Admiral.
“This is okay, right?”
“It’s fine,” Lindy smiled. “Unexpected, but fine.” With that, she resumed the movie.
Once the movie was over, the two talked about their favorite parts.
“…can’t deny the awesomeness of that scene, Lindy. The Queen standing over Newt and Bishop, and then the doors slowly open to reveal Ripley in that power suit – the scene is just pure win right there.”
“Agreed, but I liked that scene in the Med Lab better – it showed that Ripley uses her head in a desperate situation.”
“True.”
After finishing their discussion about the movie, they sat quietly, with Arcas’ head in Lindy’s lap. Arcas then let out a sigh. Lindy picked up on it, and proceeded with that knowledge.
“Ara, ara, that was an awfully heavy sigh, Arcas? Something on your mind?”
“It’s – it’s nothing,” he replied, doing his best to face away from Lindy’s knowing smile.
“It’s the girl, isn’t it? You miss her.”
Internally, parts of Arcas’ brain waged war. Come on, one part exclaimed, this is Lindy! Ever since you joined the Tripartite, she’s practically been your mother! And you’re on Earth, far, far away from the prying eyes of your comrades and any would-be matchmakers. You can be honest with her!
Right, another part stated. Tell her how you feel, so that she can make your life miserable too by playing matchmaker.
She wouldn’t do that! Lindy was happily married once, she knows that love isn’t something that can be forced or rushed! If anything, she’d help by keeping Hayate and the others off your back!
This coming from the one who thought that helping Hayate by squeezing into a pair of LEATHER PANTS was a GOOD thing!
ENOUGH! Arcas mentally shouted. I’m in charge here! I decide what to say and what to keep secret! The Dragonslayer then responded to Lindy’s question, looking up into her warm, motherly expression.
“Is it obvious?”
Lindy giggled. “I was once in love too, you know.”
“It’s just that – I know she’s only a friend, but…”
“You can’t help it; you miss her.”
“Yeah,” Arcas replied shyly.
“So, tell me about her!”
“Didn’t Fate already tell you about her?”
“All I got from Fate was her name, that you like her, and that she thinks you two would make a cute couple.”
Arcas said nothing, but blushed in response.
“Is she pretty?”
Go on, you nimrod, be honest!
“Prettiest girl in the whole galaxy.”
“Is she nice?”
“Nicer than an angel,” Arcas responded. As he responded to Lindy’s questions, Arcas felt a pleasant warmth spread through his chest. This wasn’t like when Boomer or the Aces teased him about Mel – that was an embarrassed warmth. This was gentle, comforting. Then, Lindy asked THE question:
“Do you love her?”
Arcas paused a moment.
“Do you promise not to tell a soul?”
“I promise.”
“Not even Fate?”
“Not even Fate.” Arcas beckoned to her, and Lindy bent down, only to hear Arcas whisper ever so softly:
“With all my heart.”
Lindy smiled, then sat up, putting her hands together in front of her face, as if she was praying. She paused for a moment, then asked of the Dragonslayer:
“Because – I just can’t. I mean – what if she says no? What if she doesn’t like me that?”
“Arcas,” she replied, trying to reassure him. “Any girl with half a brain in her head would like you! You’re kind. You’re devoted. You’re honest – what more could a girl ask for?”
“But I just – I –” Arcas stammered. “I couldn’t take it if she said no.”
Lindy scooted over next to him and wrapped an arm around him, stroking his back. “But don’t you want to know how she really feels?”
“More than anything.”
“Then you’re going to have to take some risks – nothing ventured, nothing gained, as the Earth saying goes.”
“But how would I do that?”
“Simple. You find some sort of occasion to celebrate, and then you ask her out to dinner.”
“Ask Mel on a date? I don’t know…”
“It’s not a date,” Lindy clarified. “It’s just dinner between two friends, nothing romantic about it.”
“So, it’s just two friends, having a good time.”
“Now you’ve got it! When you get nervous, or others tease you, just remind yourself: it’s just dinner.”
“It’s just dinner.”
“So, the next chance you get, what are you going to do?”
“I’m going to ask Mel out to dinner.”
“Good.” Lindy looked over at the clock. “We should be getting to bed – there’s still plenty of work to be done.”
“Indeed.”
And with that, the Dragonslayer and the Admiral ended their first day…
Spoiler for Who ya gonna call?:
-Scene 1-
“It’s a girl,” Mel stated, surprised.
“It’s Gozer,” Sevasti realized out loud.
“I though Gozer was a MAN,” Boomer replied.
“It’s whatever it wants to be.”
“Well, whatever it is, it’s gotta get by us,” Arcas said.
“Right.”
“Go get her, Mel!”
Mel gulped, and slowly proceeded towards the figure.
“Gozer the Gozerian!” The figure turned to face Mel. “Good evening. As the duly designated representative of the city, county, and world of Mid-Childia, I order you to cease any and all supernatural activity and return forthwith to your point of origin, or to the nearest convenient parallel dimension.”
“That oughta do it. Thanks very much, Mel.”
“Are you a God?” Gozer asked. Mel looked back at Arcas, who nodded to her.
“No.”
“Then… DIE!” Gozer replied, sending bolts of lightning out of its fingertips at the Phantasms, which drove them back to the buildings’ edge.
“Mel,” Boomer began. “If someone asks you if you’re a God, you say YES!”
-End-
-Scene 2-
“What do you mean, choose? We don’t understand!” Mel cried.
“Choose,” the voice boomed. “Choose the form of the Destructor.”
“Oh, I get it, I get it! Ohhh, VERY CUTE!” Arcas replied. “Whatever we think of – if we think of Admiral Hallaoun, Admiral Halloun will appear and destroy us. So empty your heads! Empty your heads, we’ve only got one shot at this!”
“The choice is made!”
“Whoa! Whoa-oh! Whoa!”
“The Traveler has come!”
“Nobody choosed anything!”
Arcas pointed to Sevasti. “Did you choose anything?”
“No,” the Major replied.
To Boomer. “Did YOU?!”
“My mind is totally blank.”
“I didn’t choose anything!”
The other three Noble Phantasms turned around to see Mel slowly backing away. Arcas went up to her and gave her a look.
“I couldn’t help it. It just popped in there.”
“WHAT? What ‘just popped in there?’”
“I… I tried to think…”
“LOOK!” Sevasti shouted.
“No! It CAN’T be!” Mel wailed.
“What is it?” Arcas asked.
“It CAN’T be!”
“What did you do, Mel?”
“Oh, shit!” Boomer exclaimed.
The quartet watched as a large, round white head wearing a sailor hat walked between the buildings a few streets over. Arcas cast a disbelieving look at Mel.
Mel nodded slowly. “It’s the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.”
Citizens ran in terror from the huge creature, which crushed cars like bugs.
“Well, there’s something you don’t see everyday,” Arcas commented.
“I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never, ever possibly destroy us… Mr. Stay-Puft.”
“Nice thinking, Mel.”
“We used to roast Stay-Puft marshmallows, by the fire at Camp Ocanda.”
Arcas looked to his CO. “Mel has gone by-by, Major. What have you got left?”
“Sorry, Arcas, but I’m terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought,” Sevasti stated as they watched the monster come down the street towards the building.
-End-

This was written purely for the OC thread and has a degree of OOCness due to the fact that it takes place in an alternate Nanoha-verse. Not for the weak of heart. NFers, please... don't read. It's not lemon, it's not even romantic, but please... you had been warned.
Spoiler for Multiverse MC 076 : ~ Reflection ~:
“Cheers.”
“Likewise.”
With a knock of glasses, acknowledging each other’s drink, Hayate and Fate… sat across one another, amidst the small lounge, as they rest themselves, leaning back to the sofa, legs crossed on the floor, slowly sipping their wine.
“It’s been a while since we’ve done this, isn’t it, Fate-chan?”
“True…we’ve been too busy lately… I haven’t had the chance to relax at all these past 2 weeks.”
They both sighed, as they show their exhaustion. Hayate continued, “The last time we were like this, it was still the 3 of us, back when Nanoh…! I’m sorry.”
Hayate stopped track as she realized who she was about to mention in front of Fate, as she slowly apologized. Even though they’ve come to accept it, it was still painful for all of them… It was hard for them to even think that their best friend, who’s survived everything together for 10 years together…was no longer around.
“It’s okay, Hayate-chan. It is painful, but at the same time…we cannot pretend that it wasn’t real. We’re soldiers… We came prepared that we could’ve died in face of our duties. Fate spoke, but her words were soft and mildly trembling, insecure…
Hayate quickly changed the topic as she jumped at the chance, “It’s too bad Yuuno-kun couldn’t join us tonight, huh?”
Fate seemingly jerked a little, almost unnoticeable at Yuuno’s mention…”Ye..yeah… he too has been quite busy recently… He’s been assigned to a number of termed-missions… I haven’t seen him in a few weeks now, aside from contact.”
“To be honest, I was very surprised then… when Yuuno decided to quit from the Archeologist’s Guild, retire as Infinity Library’s chief…and instead, enroll as a military officer for TSAB. Even though he wasn’t the kind of person who was meant to be a soldier…”
Fate replied as she spoke mildly, a little red now due to the slight alcoholic consumption. “More so than anyone else, Yuuno blamed himself for Nanoha’s death… That night… Nanoha died due to loss of communication with rear-support from the HQ, due to the enemy’s hacking that got her…off-guard. Yuuno… no one else was better at being Nanoha’s support other than him. For the first time in his life, he regretted…choosing to become a librarian than to stay with Nanoha…with us, as our support-mage.”
“It’s not only Yuuno…you too, right?”
“Yes…Back then, I should’ve…”
“Stop there! Fate-chan!... No one would ever blame you or Yuuno-kun for what happened. It wasn’t your fault, it never was. So please…” Hayate cried out, as tears slowly formed in her eyes…
“Thank you, Hayate-chan. What could I do without you?”
Finishing their glasses, they poured more, drinking more as they drowned away in their conversation…
“But still…Yuuno-kun’s changed a lot, huh? It’s almost like he’s a different person altogether.”
“Yuuno’s gone through a lot to become what he is today. Not only was he severely criticized from the general public and his academic colleagues for his choice… he had to go through severe retraining due to years of inactivity, and readapting his magical style… Being at offensive was never Yuuno-kun’s talent. But now… no one else in TSAB can utilize gravitational field magic as efficiently as he can in combat, and in terms of spatial awareness in levitation control…he’s better than even Nanoha. Well, he was her teacher at that to begin with... And he is still a great support-mage, especially at being a seeker for mage-snipers. But even so…he’s still struggling a lot through the motions. It wasn’t his talent to begin with…He barely cracked the AA+ ranking to qualify.”
They both sighed as they bottomed down their 4th glass respectively.
“Enough of that! So…Fate-chan, how has things been going with Yuuno-kun?” Hayate asked, sounding a little sheepish, with a slight grin, though Fate dismissed it at her being drunk.
“Hmm? I thought I said that he’s been busy recently…”
“Not that! I mean…how are things between you and Yuuno-kun?”
Fate’s face rose a light red…”Wha..what are you talking about? Yuuno and I has always been friends. It’s the sa..same for you, right?”
“You might’ve fooled everyone, but you can’t fool me. I can see ‘something’ going on, so..come on, spill the beans. How far had both of you gone?”
“… There’s no hiding anything from you, huh?... Well…we’ve,..made.. done it…several times…”
Fate’s face turned red, as she looked down, her face almost as red as the red wine she’s drinking, as she looked upon her relection on the drink.
“Wow! So, the both of you are like…rabu rabu now!? When’s the wedding!?” Hayate teased her.
“No…Like I said, it’s nothing like that… Yuuno and I are still friends. We’re still just…friends.”
”…How?”
“I dunno… I can’t even remember clearly how it first started… when Nanoha died, I suppose there was something that was lost inside of us… and that’s how everything started…I think. We’re adults now…it didn’t affect our relationship. It’s just that…sometimes…it comes to us naturally. When we want each other for carnal desires. I never asked him, he never asked me… we just know…when. Beyond those occasional moments, we’re still great friends.”
“Fate…chan…”
“You know… the whole time Yuuno’s been with me…He never once said “I love you”. Of course, I’m the same…So all these time, maybe we’re just using each other. Haha…when I put it like that, it sounds weird, doesn’t it? I don’t even know what I’m saying…The alcohol must be getting to me..haha…” Fate forced a smile, as she continued speaking, slightly cracking in her voice, dishonest with herself.
Hayate could only so much but smile sadly at her. “Do you love him?”
“Like I said, our relationship isn’t romantic.”
“The question stands.”
“I…” Fate’s voice shivered, as she found herself not being able to say anything further… Did she love him? Or did she merely consider him a great friend…who just have sex together sometimes?...She didn’t know.
“I don’t know.”
“Fate-chan… It may be prospectus for me to say this…but Yuuno-kun isn’t that kind of person who’d simply treat his treasured friends like that, even if both of you wanted it. He’s always been…too kind for his own good. And no matter how much Yuuno-kun changes, you and I know…that part of him will never. Ever.”
“You really…think so?”
“Positive.”
“Thank you…Hayate-chan.”

“Cheers.”

OMG.
*insert Ace Combat 5's Into The Dusk BGM*
Definitely not the kind of story anyone would expect to see it coming.
With due respect, would you like me to write that scene? Of course, I won't post it just like that unless requested (the conversation just made me picture the very last minutes).

Salute.
Please do. It interest me a lot.
And honestly, while I do have plans to continue this in a non-chronological order, it is tough for me to write this a little since it is well... unorthodox. So, extra visions are always great.
*salutes back*

I don't like the idea who say that Nanoha is dead but ... It's a really good write (it's a good expression?). And, for me, i can easely entering in your story ^^
Argh! No! Every time I’m in the kitchen, I keep getting reminded of that time! Now that I think about it, I’m still embarrassed! How could I have made a fool of myself time and time again…
That time too… when I slipped up. Another time, when we were waiting for Nanoha and Fate… what a misunderstanding we got then. It’s so amusing thinking back. And also when he carried me back…
But those times, we were alone… but at the same time, we weren’t as well… but tonight, we’re really…just…alone…
Wait…now that I think back, that time too… for some reason, I just felt compelled to call Yuuno Yuu-chan… In fact, I felt almost…bitter when I heard that his relationship with his librarian mates are that close and intimate…
Since when, did I start feeling this way? And why? It’s a little different from how it is with Nanoha-chan and Fate-chan, even Verossa… I still…
What…What the heck am I thinking? Thinking nonsensical stuff…Yuuno’s always been a great friend to me… Isn’t it that simple, me!? Fantasizing like this, it’s almost as if I’m hoping for something to happen…
Nonononoononononononoononononononononnoono! Stop it, me! I just invited Yuuno over to cook dinner for Yuuno…to..yes ,thank him for his hard work. That’s right! And it wasn’t just Yuuno! If all Vita-chan and the rest didn’t suddenly have overtime all of a sudden…they too would be joining the dinner!
Huh, calm down, Hayate…Calm down. Don’t act like Rein now…Breath in…breath out…okay, perfect.
“Yuuno, I’m sorry. Just a little while lon-“
Ahhh. It's certainly proving difficult for her to handle her first crush. I like how she goes Dojikko whenever she's around Yuuno. By the way, why did she stop?

[EDIT] It's too quiet again! T_T what happened to having like 50 post a night? >.<
Moving down the large office space, I weaved in and out of the many cubical working areas. A few people were caught goofing off but quickly returned to their job after a glare from me. Times like this made me realize just how much easier it was to get around without the large mass of hair following me everywhere. Although I didn't like to admit it, when I rounded corners fast sometimes a stray hair would get caught on something and be plucked from my head. I missed my hair but after the few months that it has been gone I've come to accept it. At least now I can blame Nanoha's hair for clogging the drain in the shower. The thought made me giggle to myself and I shook my head with an amused look. Finally I made my way to the elevator and took a floor down before walking through a more hectic area than I had in the floor above. Even though I didn't oversee this area at all, my rank still made people focus heavily on their job when I walked past. Since this floor was almost a mirror of mine, I quickly made my way to the main office separated off form the others by glass. The in-panel blinds were closed, forcing me to knock on the door and wait a moment before being beckoned to enter. Syllabus, a man with long brown hair swept into a ponytail, greeted me with a kind smile as I handed him the application papers for the upcoming mage tests. The forwards, as well as Nanoha and myself, were now officially registered to increase their rank in three weeks.

Seems like Fate is quite a figure in the office. And Syllabus? Where's Gaspard?

“It surely was fun watching Kyon-kun playing the main role, wasn’t it?” asked Imotou, even as she and her underage companions were having ice-cream sundaes at one of the stalls set up around the complex.
“I agree! I wish I could take part in the stage play, too,” Annabelle uttered and took a scoopful of ice-cream. “Thanks for the ice-cream, Mrs. Lindy!”
“Not a problem, Anna-chan,” Lindy said and giggled as the meteor girl took another spoonful of ice-cream. “How is it, Anna-chan?”
“It is very delicious!” Annabelle replied and feverishly finished the ice-cream.
“Let me try! Let me try!” Imotou took a gulp of the vanilla ice-cream and cooed in happiness. “Yummy! I want more!” she giggled with a moe smile.
Lindy giggled at the two girls’ antic and turned her attention to Vivio and Lutecia. The two girls were quiet throughout the meal time, although with different reasons: Vivio was nervous, while Lutecia simply looked around her in intrigue. “What’s the matter, Lutecia?” Lindy asked.
“It’s nothing…” Lutecia answered. She noticed Lindy, Imotou and Annabelle were staring at her strangely due to the response (with the exception of Vivio who was begging Lindy for milkshake). “Well, I…”
“ZA WARUDO!”
Their session was disturbed when a look-alike of Dio Brando suddenly appeared on top of a mysteriously-materialized steamroll and made various poses before ended his antics with a scream of “WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!”
Spoiler for preview #2:
Shamal: “in the previous instalment of Magical Girl Lyrical Cinderella, we have been introduced to Ginga the royal announcer…”
HD screen showed the scene of Ginga making public service announcement on behalf of the Mid-Childan kingdom before she slipped off her feet when she returned to backstage. Fan boys suddenly shouted “SHIRO NO PANTSU!” and died off massive nose haemorrhage when Ginga involuntarily provided them the “service”.
(Backstage, Ginga was complaining to Subaru and Teana regarding the fans’ passionate support for her, and protested at the explicit scene. “Oneechan, you just don’t have any idea about fan service, do you?” Subaru asked.)
Shamal: “We also met Prince Yuuno of Mid-Childa…”
Then another flashback scene took over. This time, it was Yuuno’s turn in his glory and pride as the Mid-Childan warrior prince. Male audience roared in approval and shouted “FOR MID-CHILDA!” and “THIS IS MID-CHILDA!” many times, throwing fists and Devices into the air at the same time.
(Outside the building, Yuuno was pleading Carim not to ask him to wear the suit of King Leonidas for the rest of the play. “Unfortunately, Yuuno, I find you quite a handsome man in the dress,” the priestess spoke and smiled cutely (or moe-ly.)
Shamal: “We also had the opportunity to see Cinderella’s stepfamily planning to visit the kingdom’s open day…”
After that, another flashback of the three Aces took place. The girls schemed on something not looking good, and audience suddenly sensed a murderous sense coming from them as they cackled and nodded to each other.
(Inside the dressing room, Nanoha and Hayate were asking Fate on her soon-to-be-executed plan on her adoptive sister. The Bardiche warrior simply giggled and replied with a wink as to say: “it’s a secret.” The girls growled and pounced at Fate, laughing all the way as they tickled the blonde girl on the waist.
“Iyah! Dame!”
Chrono quietly walked away from the room. Mission accomplished, now he had to treat his nose injury after eavesdropping on the girls’ wittingly suggestive conversation.)
Shamal: “as we all know, the kingdom is going to have an open day for everyone.”
Audience cheered and started blowing trumpets and throwing confetti. “Party! Party!” they chanted.
Shamal: “I haven’t even finished my words.”
“We don’t really mind!” audience replied and continued cheering, occasionally tossing glassful of Pepsi above their head and laughing. “We’re going to have party! Cheers, everyone!”
Shamal: “oh, well… not my job to keep them under control anyway…”
Audience booed Shamal. “Shamal doesn’t want to have party with us,” they mocked (Shamal twitched at the comment she heard). “Shamal only wants to play with Shamisen,” one of the audiences teased and pointed to Shamisen that peacefully dozed on the woman’s lap.
Yeah ^^' one day in fact

Ah, the unexpected pairing. So Vivio's Fate and Yuuno's daughter, right? Indeed not for the faint of heart, but awesome nontheless.

Salute.
That fic was great. So poignant..
Somehow, I took the slight OOC-ness rather easily, maybe because of the scale of the incident?
Kudos for tackling a topic the original creators might never be able to. *Applauds*
For a change of mood, don't we all want more Hayuuno?
LOL So what's where Poseidon comes from eh? That was so funny!!
@Nighty's Fatuuno I left my comments in the OC thread... but I'll second Satashi's request here, MORE PLEASE!
@USB If you write that Fatuuno part, send it my way!
@Kirika-chan Welcome to the board! Enjoy your stay.
@thread I havent had much time lately to follow the thread... Cant comment on Redemption yet, either, as I still have not caught up to the story. (I'm progressing... but very... slowly... )

Well, might as well show my face here and show what I've been doing....
First off, I've been working on a fanfic that includes my and other people OC's, named Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha SearcherS
OP (repost from the OC thread):
Spoiler for Rise- Origa:
[chatter]
A slow shot of the Mid-Childan capital from the air appears, increasing with speed. The camera briefly points and zooms to a building then cuts as the sound of a drum hits two times, one time pointing at the 216th Special Combat Unit insignia, then to some buildings at the second hit.
I'm a soldier, значит я I'm a soldier, znachit ya I'm a soldier, meaning that I'm
Satoshi in his Barrier Jacket, Cross Form, walks in an alley, stops, then turns his head to the left and looks in the direction of the camera, the camera immediately focusing on his face
И ответчик и судья I otvyetchik i sud'ya Both the defendant and the judge
Sydney is typing on a computer, then quickly looks straight at the camera as it focuses on her face, it cuts to Vincent, who's hanging out somewhere with his head down and raises it up, seeing something at his left as the camera focuses on the left side of his face.
Я стою на двух концах огня Ya stoyu na dvukh kontsakh ognya I'm standing on both sides of the fire
Then it cuts to Satsuki, who's sitting down, sorta nervous, and looks left as the camera focuses on the right side of her face, it then cuts to Margaret, walking away from the camera, and she turns her head to look back; the camera focuses on her face. It then cuts back to Satoshi, who looks away and starts walking again. As he's walking, Cipher, it it's sealed state, is shown, the chain held by Satoshi's hands. It glints, and the glare "blinds" the camera.
Огибая виражи, обгоняя смерть и жизнь Ogibaya virazhi, obgonyaya smyert' i zhizn' Going around turns, overtaking death and life
Then, it cuts to Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate in a lounge, where they look directly at the camera, and it shows a quick flash of them with their Barrier Jackets. The flash quickly disapperars as they turn away from the camera. Then the camera cuts to another scene, where the camera is pointed at the right side of Kha in normal clothes is looking at the sky, a quick flash of him in his Barrier Jacket appears and disappears as he looks at the camera without moving his head. It cuts to another scene where Aurion is sitting down in a park bench, and a quick flash of him in his Barrier Jacket is shown and disappears as he stands up. Another scene is then shown, with the camera pointing at the left side of Keroko standing near a restaurant, and a quick flash of her in her Barrier Jacket is shown and disappears as she looks at the camera's direction.
Я бегу сразиться с тенью лжи Ya byegu srazit'sya s tyen'yu lzhi I'm running to fight with the shadow of a lie
It shows Sophia Alexi, on a fence, waiting for something, and a flash of her in her Barrier Jacket is shown and disappears as she starts to leave. Then, it shows Chrono in his Barrier Jacket as he appears out the shadows and out of the camera's sight. A screen shows up, revealing a large arrow going somewhere
Сколько б нитей не плёл обман skol'ko b nityey nye plyol obman No matter how many threads deception would weave
It then goes inside the 216th Command Center, where the support and tech people are typing fast, directing the situation. It then shows Rachel looking at the screen, terribly worried, and then shows the Major, who's thinking about the situation.
Покажет лик света истина
pokazhyet lik svyeta istina Truth will show its face of light
It cuts to another scene, where Vivio is in a life pod, and the camera points down, showing a bunch of darkened pictures, before light eventually covers the pictures and "blinds" the camera again. The scene changes back to the night sky of the Mid-Childan capital, where a quick shot of Storm Raider is seen, flying somewhere.
Save your tears for the day, when our pain is far behind
It shows Erio and Caro, running away from something, then it cuts to a scene where someone's hands are on the ground, with tears falling. It then cuts to an overhead view of the object, which looks like some sort of a new Gadget Drone with legs. Then, there's a quick shot of the Legendary Admirals, sitting in a desolate place, and it goes back to the battle with the Drone, where Teana shoots some bullets in desperation while Subaru and Ginga use Revolver Shoot at it.
On your feet, come with me, we are soldiers stand or die
It then shows a couple of identical soldiers going into formation, having conventional rifles and bearing a mark-"S1" on their arms as Scagletti is shown above a platform, grinnning at the army below, with Asteright, Hollow, Lueticia, Zest, Agito, and the Numbers near him. It then gets back to the battle, where the Drone is firing at Signum and Vita, then, it cuts to a room filled with white where Satoshi is at the left side of the room, alone, looking directly at the right side of the room. It then shows his face, and he seems to say "stand", then the same scene appears, except Asteright is at the right side, and now the camera is pointed at Asteright's face, with him seeming like he says "die".
Save your fears, take your place
It then shows Smith, Wesson, and Vincent taking cover behind a car, with Wesson and Vincent firing at something off-screen while Smith reloads. It then shows someone in robes on an observatory, looking at the battle below. It then cuts to Sydney and Margaret near some pillars; Sydney watches as Margaret fires Nadie, then someone with a metallic suit is on top of a building, also looking at the battle.
Save them for the judgement day
It then shows Takeru with Siberkugel in Panzer Faust mode and Satsuki nearby with Ellis, where they shoot off-screen, while Frieda looks at what both of them hit, then it shows a silhouette of someone with two blades connected to a chain on top of another building, looking at the battle below. It then cuts to another scene, where the camera is pointed up to General Regius and his secretary walking on a corridor.
Fast and free, follow me
The Drone is now disabled by Nanoha's Divine Buster, and Satoshi finishes it off, with light covering him as he looks in surprise.
Time to make the sacrifice
It then shows Satoshi looking at the direction of the camera then quickly turns and moves in the direction of something jutting out of the distance, and everyone also moves in that direction.
We rise or fall
It then shows a clear night sky, and the title comes up:
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha: SearcherS
then, the title disappears with the wind....
Snippet of my 1st chapter:
Spoiler for SearcherS 1 W.I.P:
"What the.....?" "Where am I?"
He was clearly somewhere, but it was all in gray. There was no place that looked easily recognizable, and everywhere, there were no signs of life.
"Barely anything living....or recognizable." he muttered to himself as he tried to find his way around.
As he managed to orient himself to this place, a scream suddnely shattered the darkness, and he heard it clearly. It seemed to be eminating from an alley nearby, and he went to it instinctively. More screams were heard before he found the source of them. He looked, shocked at what happened. There were blood on the walls, the only thing that had color. Nearby were several people: mages, he could tell because of the clothing they had, with their insides spilled over the place. Then he watched as a mage was down on the ground, severely injured. Nearby was someone with a shotgun, looking straight down at him. He tried to help, but felt like he couldn't move. He wanted to help, but his body stayed. He had to watch. He couldn't do anything about it."P-p-p-PLEASE, DON'T SHOOT!" the mage said, with fear in his eyes, hoping not to get his head blown off. The guy coldly replied "Too late...." Suddenly, he felt like he was the mage himself, seeing the barrel of a gun. He watched in horror as the guy reached for the trigger.
....BANG!
Then, there's the Rush Hour 2/ Nanoha crossover/parody that I call Magic Hour 2
Reposted from the OC thread:
Spoiler for MH2 parts:
1st scene:
Yunno:*near a gambling table, around some mages* "I...have...a...dream that Mid-Childans, Neo-Belkans, and even librarians can gamble together without getting different chips!"
2nd scene:
Yunno suddenly got up, gasping for breath. He checked where he got hit, feeling that part, noticing something wrong. He checked the inner pocket of his coat, revealing a book that took the damage for him.
Yunno: *gasping for breath* "Oh...ohoh....Thank you, book. *kisses it*...Thank you..."
He finally got up, with the book still in his hand, and pointed to Nanoha's seemingly dead body.
Yunno: "We could have been a good couple, we could have had something special...but you one crazy ass BITCH!"
Still gasping for breath, he left.
With the Book of Darkness in his hands, Graham packed it up in a bag. Suddenly, Hayate comes out.
Hayate:" Mid-Childans love to gamble, don't they, Mr. Graham?"
Graham: "I never gamble. Oh, I'm, uh, cutting our deal short."
Hayate looked in surprise about what Graham said. "Oh....." she looked down at the floor briefly before looking at Graham again "and my Book?"
Graham approached Hayate with a sort of arrogance in him. "The Book stays with me." he said as he showed Hayate a pistol tucked on his waist. "I'm sure you won't have a problem with that."
Hayate smiled, then said, "I enjoyed that little story you told about the mage and the Device. My mother used to tell it to me all the time." Then, she looked at Graham as if she were trying to know something from Graham and said, "Do you know the moral of that story?"
Graham answered coldly, "Power will imprison us all."
Hayate then took Schwertkreuz in sealed form, and stabbed Graham in the heart as he looked in horror. She looked at him quizzicly while Graham looked down to see where she stabbed. Then she responded, with anger, "I hate that fortune-cookie shit." before helping Graham's body drop to the floor quietly.
3rd scene:
As Chrono was holding Hayate down, with the gun pointed at her head, Yunno came into the room.
With a grin on his face, he said "Hey, Hayate. How you doing?" She looked at him before Yunno saying, "Chrono, I see you got everything under control. Imma go downstairs and- GODAMN!" as he saw Graham's body on the floor. "What happened to Graham?"
4th scene:
Pissed with Yunno's taunting, Chrono screamed at him, "Yunno!" Hayate took this chance to sweep the gun out of Chrono's hand, a bullet firing and nearly hitting Yunno as he dived to the floor and hitting a vase behind him. The gun dropped on a carpet, with Hayate pushing Chrono back, and trying to grab the gun. Yunno got sight of this, and pulled the carpet while she was trying to reach it, tripping her in the process.Hayate reached for the gun and started to shoot Yunno.
"NO!" Chrono screamed as Yunno pulled the carpet over him and Hayate shot, nearly hitting him again. Chrono then kicked her, where she crashed through the window, and fell to her death, hitting the top of a car.
Looking down at what happened, Yunno was the first to speak. "DAMN!.....Good kick, Chrono."
Looking at Yunno, he could only say, "It was an accident."
Yunno replied, "That's okay, we'll just say she tried to catch a car."
Nanoha then came into the room, holding Raising Heart in Excel Mode. As both of them looked closely, Yunno said "Wha's that in your-" before he could see a self-destruction device set for 10 seconds and counting.
"Aw, hell naw." Yunno said. Nanoha could only mutter her words. Chrono was finding a way out. "Lady, you listen to me right now. You put that Device down right now and TURN IT OFF!" Chrono interrupted, "Yunno! We have to jump!" as he saw two lines out of the window. Yunno didn't agree, "You crazy, man, I ain't jumping." as Nanoha still muttered her words. "Come on! Use your Jacket!" Chrono could scream as he was taking off the outer part of his Jacket to use as a pulley. "TURN THAT BOMB OFF!" Yunno could scream as he followed Chrono's advice, while Nanoha's mutterings became more louder. "Crazy ass...", Yunno said before Raising Heart exploded, making a big explosion.
