One on one without any inputs from Riful, Galatea will stand a chance. I suspected that Riful presence alone increase the morale of Duph/Duff so he is more purposeful in his attacks.

Why not using, Abyss Kings/Queen.. Sound better, and accurate

YOu also have to consider that Duaf is significantly stronger then the MA that Clare had face. Plus the fact that Galatea is even standing when the Clare and Jean made it back up is testimony to how powerful Galatea is and how powerful Duaf is and in comparison how powerful Riful is over all of them.

There's a whole thread full of manga spoilers to answer that question.

But then you'd have the same problem that Eclipse's translator wanted to avoid, you're attempting to use "abyss" as an adjective rather than as a noun. To be more grammatically correct, what you'd want is "King of the Abyss" instead. That sounds...even sillier than than Dwellers of the Deep (lol, but that's my opinion, no offence intended).

Actually, a scary name is the best.

Like Abyssal Lords....You have to enhance the L when saying it for critical damage.

You are a villager and someone says that a Dweller of the Deep!! comes.. Does that scare you

Now, if you said "The Abyssal Lord is coming!!!

You are, even if you donīt know what it is

Lol. Well then, I suggest you take up Mentar's challenge from the earlier episode thread - if you don't like the translation, go make your own fansub.

I know, but you forgotten the "English/US Slang" in speak and writing...

i am out of here = i'm outta here...

Sometimes, you don't need to be that grammatically correct..

It's not like Clare was able to dodge everything, either. And even a graze can hurt, with Duph.

What's true is that Galatea is no Theresa of the Faint Smile. But then, who is?

Good point Clare has gotten a lot better and sensing Yoki and making it practicle in combat. But she is nowhere near the level of Teresa and as much as Galatea kicks ass i dont think her Yoki reading ability is really suppose to be used for dodging, its similar to Teresa's/Calre's but not the same technique it wouldnt be practical to treat it as such. I agree with Anh_ Minh shes not Teresa no one could replace our dear Teresa *wipes a tear from his eye remembering her faint smile*

Dauf is hilarious.

Am I the only one who thinks so?

He's such a big softie, even in spite of strength and toughness.

Except we've never seen Theresa take on an Awakened Being. Even then, she got her head cut off from a sneak attack from partially-awakened Priscilla. #1 though she may be, she's still as vulnerable as any Claymore to the same types of injuries.

Well...not yet. It does suck to be spoiled by manga to some extent.

And, I wouldn't call someone who'd stick a rod in you for calling them a monster instead of crying about it a softie.

It sounds almost convincing except that he overlooks a crucial point. Morality applies equally to all rational beings, regardless whether you are human or not. The one thing that does blur the whole issue however, is that an Awakened Being needs to eat human intestines to survive. In other words, they don't have a choice but to kill other rational beings.

If however, it can be shown that ABs can choose to eat animal intestines to sustain themselves, but they choose not to, then the debate becomes moot. They are pure evil, regardless what they may think of themselves, vis-a-vis human beings.
I love this point. I couldn't have said it better myself.

"Dwellers of the Deep" brings to mind beings like dark elf, driders, dark dwarves, gnomes etc.. Putting a Lord in there would be more befitting of Riful's status!

On another note, it is nice to see Clare continuing to improve her combat prowess. Now she is able to activate the flash sword as well as anticipate enemy movements via youki simultaneously ... goes to show how much she has advanced. Maybe she is getting more powerfull with each "close" awakening..
Still she is no match with anyone of the Abyss Lords.

I wonder what she is going to do next - Go after Easly/Priscilla in the North even though this is suicidal or continue with her search for Raki...

Now we can have ClareXJean in the meantime
