my mom got me my first gun for home defense (when I was 18) after my house been broken into for the third time in 10 years. It was a HK USP .45 ACP, I don't use it much because my hands are pretty small for the gun but I still have it just for the fun of it. Now I got a Colt commander (1911), just the right size for me, and enough to stop anything that moves!

How much you want to spend on a sword depends on many things. Will you use it for cutting? actual use? or will you just hang it on the wall? do you want to have a one of a kind? or something that's factory made? a wall hanger will run you about $20-100 bucks. if you want to get one for some cutting it will cost a lot more...
