What are you talking about? Unless ANN is wrong Gurren Lagann's music is composed by Taku Iwasaki the same guy who did the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs, Read Or Die OVA/TV and Witch Hunter Robin scores. He's the top anime composer at the moment imo and clearly above Kanno (her best was in the 90's) and Kajiura this decade.

Totally agree! He's also my favorite composer. He also worked on Getbackers, Black Cat and Kekkaishi, all of which have excellent soundtracks.
