Profile: A very calm, quiet and level-headed person. Almaria was a childhood friend of Aurion. They grew up together at the same orphanage. She recruited in TSAB four months after Aurion does. She had about as much, or possibly even more talent than Aurion, quickly catching up with him in rank despite the difference in their time of enlisting. She got transferred from the Air Force to the Navy a full year before Aurion did, becoming an elite Ace of the Naval Forces in TSAB while Aurion became an Ace of the Air Forces. She was well known for her distinctively graceful combat style. She and Aurion became an item the year when he transferred to the Navy and became an Enforcer as well. Her last position before her untimely demise was as Spectrum 4 of the Spectral Enforcers.

Personality: As mentioned earlier, she is a very benign person; rarely ever seen angry. And even when angry, she’s almost just as quiet as ever. However, there’s a noticeable aura of light hostility at those times. Despite her quietness, she’s actually quite confident and can carry herself with dignity almost all of the time. She was actually the subject of attraction for many males in the Division (despite her tender age), but she never gave them much notice. She almost always uses –‘san’ when addressing anyone, only dropping the honorific when around Aurion. She’s rarely ever seen without her, as several people say, ‘charmingly gentle smile’. She was also very helpful and gracious to the people around her.

Despite her commendable poise, she is extremely uncomfortable with any physical contact with almost anyone; with only some rare exceptions like children. She’s also slightly claustrophobic, as she loves being able to move freely without any restraints. At times, she spaces out and sways slightly on the spot whilst humming when doing nothing; needing a poke or two to shake her out of her stupor. She likes small animals (even snakes, crocodiles and other non-pet animals) but gets nervous around big ones. Her cooking skills are good, though she oftentimes falls into her humming-swaying daze while cooking food with long cooking times, resulting in burnt dishes. Suffice to say, she’s an excellent soldier, but becomes a bit of a klutz with more mundane tasks.

As a fighter, she is frighteningly efficient and can land killing blows without batting an eyelash. However, she has a habit of whispering “Gomenasai…” before a kill, and she also enters a state of incredible sadness after such acts, praying for the souls of those whose lives she took. She does not like killing, but understood that she had duties as a soldier. She sometimes cries in her sleep because of this.

Interestingly, she’s the only person whom the then antisocial Aurion seemed to act relaxed around; even to the extent of smiling constantly and teasing her. And what’s even more interesting was the fact that she acted ‘so enthrallingly cute that you’ll get woozy just watching her’ around him, highlighting the fact of the close bond they shared as childhood friends. They also like sparring against each other. The last score is 35-32 in Aurion’s favor. Aurion is also the only person Almaria willingly has physical contact with. (Non-risqué, mind you. Just the friendly physical intimacy like clinging to his arm and such.)


To make things clearer, about just how they interact, here are some instances…
a) Almaria would uncharacteristically boast about being one year older than Aurion.
b) Aurion actually being completely laid-back. This was an absolute rarity in those times.
c) Almaria actually being whiney and “fatally cute” according to her admirers.
d) Aurion actually being actively competitive for once.

And the list goes on…


Relationships: She was well-known as a very approachable person; and was very popular with plenty of admirers. She was exceptionally close with Aurion, where most people noted that the two of the ‘changes dramatically’ in demeanor around each other. There was once a person who said, “Corvette and Dauer… One, a very delicate but resilient flower, the other a steadfast and silent barricade; but when you put them together, one will see a most amazing bond between them. Their normally professional exteriors melts away to reveal an unrealistically ideal pair, but also just as deadly as they are close to each other. They don’t express their bond in the usual way of almost constant physical contact or exchanging sweet words, but just seeing them close to each other almost radiates a glow mutual perception… The perfect partners of hope to comrades and death to enemies.” It should be noted that this person was deadpanned by a nonchalant Aurion while Almaria blushed furiously at the comment.

Poetry aside, they were really an almost perfect pair; both as people and as combatants. They worked practically flawlessly when in tandem, even at one time defeating two more-experienced S-ranked opponents despite the difference in rank, power and skill. Their abilities in combat as a pair was unbelievably good, one being a tactical and systematic aggressor and the other being a graceful range-attacker; both functioning as a single harmonized entity; almost as if having the same mind. Their lack of any melee specialization almost meant nothing when one sees them, as they support each other so well that they seemed to have a counter for just about anything, even covering flaws that both of them shared. In fact, they just worked TOO well as a team that it was almost inhuman. When asked, Almaria only said:

“Uhmm… I’m not really sure why… I just know what Aurion will do when we work together… And I’m sure the same applies for him…” *blushes* “I never felt such a sure and secure connection with anyone… whether it be mental or spiritual…”*smiles* “It’s very… reassuring.”

This was quite an oddity by those times; seeing as they seemed to be connected so well to the extent that they can actually feel each other’s presence when they are in similar locations… Some tests were run on the two, yet nothing out of the ordinary was found.

They spend their birthdays (which falls on the same date) together if possible; opting for a simple lunch or anything of the sort. It was actually the reason why they got acquainted. They were always like that since childhood, being clueless about the teasing chides of the older children around them. Aurion caught up with the meaning of the innuendo before Almaria, but wasn’t bothered and opted to let Almaria find out for herself for a good laugh later. Needless to say, Almaria spent a good time of the day with her flushed face buried in her hands upon realization. This habit continued until they became Enforcers, incurring the wrath of many of her suitors. Aurion pretty much expertly blew thru the irate hopefuls in a single swipe, as shown here; a scenario directly after their little birthday-date. (also around the time of Aurion just being transferred into the Naval Forces)

The lavender-haired girl spun around with a slightly flustered expression, “Radom-san? What are you saying?”

“Ah, nothing much. It’s just that we’ve noticed that that snotty new member has been hanging around you for too long!”

“But-”

“No buts!”

Aurion follows suit, turning around and staring at the group of older men approaching. ‘So these are you’re fans, huh? And one is even a rank higher than you. I never thought you’d get this popular, Almaria…’ he comments telepathically while giving a sideways glance to the girl in question.

Almaria turns to glare at her blue-haired companion, ‘Stop teasing me! Mou~! Aurion, please don’t get in trouble with them…’ She turns back to the approaching group of males and positions herself slightly in front of her companion, “I was just showing the new member around.”

‘So the lunch-date was part of showing me around, huh?’
‘Aurion!’
‘Happy birthday again.’

With a small smirk, Aurion strides forward a bit and stands beside Almaria, “I am indeed a new member here in the Naval Forces. Yoroshiku, sempai.” He then bows slightly, quickly raising back his head to dodge as a finger almost struck his nose.

“Private Radom!”

“Just initiation, my sweet.”

“D-datte-”

‘Oh shush, Almaria. Let me handle this.’

‘Aurion…’

“Now…” refocusing his stare at the obvious leader of the little troupe, “Have I somehow violated one of your policies here, sempai?” he tilts his head slightly, “It would seem that I have made a number of you irate for some reason…”

The leader snorts and clamps his right hand on Aurion’s left shoulder, staring in with a smug expression, “Nothing much, newbie. We just noticed that you’ve been taking up too much of Enforcer Corvette’s time with just your-”
“R-radom-san!”
“I know, I know. He’s just exceptionally clueless that he needed some extra time for the tour of the Naval base.”
“T-that’s not-!”
“It’s okay, Almaria-sempai.”
“Ah-?”
‘Be quiet now.’
‘Aurion! What are you planning?’
“See?! Even he knows his place.”

“Indeed, I might have overstepped my authority.” Aurion replies with an expressionless tone, “I just wasn’t able to resist the urge to talk with a long-time acquaintance…”

Radom’s eyebrow twitches, “Teme…” his vice-grip on Aurion’s shoulder tightening, but not even drawing the slightest reaction from the younger male, “Just who the hell are you?”

“Me?” Aurion reaches up with his right hand and holds the other male’s wrist with two fingers, “My name is Aurion Dauer.”

*SNAP!*

“ARGH!”

“BOSS!”

Radom leaps back and grabs his hurt wrist, shock at the sudden damage inflicted on it. His companions could only gape in surprise at the sudden injury of their leader.

A salute follows, “A transfer air-mage from the TSA Air Division. As of today, immediate, an Enforcer of the TSA Navy Division.”

“YOU PIECE OF SHIT!” he rears back and punches with his left, which is slapped downward by the hand used for the salute. Aurion simply steps two paces backward to avoid the rest of the attack.

“Please stop!” Almaria interposes herself between the two, her arms outstretched. ‘AURION!’ she cries hysterically at her companion’s mind, ‘I told you not to get in trouble!’

‘I won’t be.’
‘Baka!’
‘That’s cruel.’

“Out of the way, Private Corvette!” a seething Radom growls.

“P-please stop this, Ra-”

“That’s an ORDER!”

“Isn’t that abusing you’re authority, sempai?” Aurion comments casually.

“BASTARD! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!?!”

“Private 1st class, Canter Radom.” came the reply, “Currently a member of Mobile Unit 35 of the Enforcer Battalion.” He once again resumes his salute, “I’ll be looking forward to working with you and the others…” he digs an I.D. card from his pocket and shows it to the others, “-as your Sergeant-in-charge.”

A deafening silence pervaded the room as everybody was rendered speechless by the revelation.

“S-sergeant?”

“Why yes.” Aurion replies with a mirthless smile, “While my first meeting with the squad I’ll be in wasn’t in such favorable terms, I hope we can work well in the future. Once again, yoroshiku.”

Radom could only stare stupidly at the younger boy, his mouth opening and closing like that of a fish outside water.

“A-Aurion…”

‘The promotion was supposed to be a surprise.’

“Ka- geh- M-my apolgies, Sergeant!” Radom sputters as he tried to bow properly.

“Nevermind.” Aurion brusquely interjects, “I’ll let this act of misconduct slide. Provided it be not repeated in the future.”

“Roger! Damn snotty bra-”

“Snotty brat?”

“N-nothing!”

Aurion huffs lightly and drapes an arm over Almaria’s shoulders, causing the girl to jolt a bit and look up at him in surprise, “Wha-?”

“I’ll let it slide since I’ll be breaking certain rules as well…”

“Huh?”

“I haven’t finished my introduction…”

“Au-”

“I am also-”

“rion.”

“Almaria’s boyfriend.”

A collective,”WHAT?!?!” echoes around the room, with Almaria staring at Aurion with a shocked and flushed expression.

“S-sonna!”

“I-impossible!”

“Sergeant! This is just a joke, right?”

Aurion simply stared back blankly, “This is not a joke.”

“A-almaria! This can’t-”

“A-anou… etou…” Almaria could only mutter from her blushing, her mind being a mess. She couldn’t even muster the necessary willpower to interrogate Aurion telepathically.

Aurion dealt the trump, “Yatte-” his hand slides down- “-miru ka?” (Want to bet on it?) -and settles comfortably on Almaria’s waist, earning an audible gasp from the lavender-haired girl and a most stupid collection of shocked expressions from the other males. Aurion looks sideways into Almaria’s eyes, sending a single question to her mind, ‘Is it fine with you?’

Almaria only gazed back in awe. But slowly, her slightly opened mouth closes… and forms into a most charming smile as an expression of happiness glows on her face. She giggles and faces the others and declares with barely contained joy, still blushing attractively, “Hai! What he said is true!”

At that moment, a flash of lightning came and turned every other male aside from Aurion in the corridor to stone, expressions of disbelief, horror and despair etched eternally (well, not really…) onto their faces.

A gust of wind that came from nowhere blows past; driving along a horribly out of place dust ball…

“Shall I escort you to your room, Almaria?”

“Ah… Hai!”

The two of them turn around and walk away, Aurion’s arm draped over Almaria’s shoulders. Their conversation could still be heard.

“Not exactly the most ideal of confessions… But it also kills more birds with one stone, don't you think?”

“Aurion~! You have zero romantic sense at all!”

“Any tips?”

“No. That’s what I like about you…”

A random high-ranking officer passes and notices the petrified group, “What’s wrong with you people?! Get a move on!”

The statues of stone came slowly back to life and grunted their assent, moving back to their respective quarters in common fits of despair…

On the way to their quarters, they were lucky enough to be alone… Walking contentedly side-by-side.

The girl broke the comfortable silence, as she stares up at her self-proclaimed- No. Genuine boyfriend, her face blushing lightly, “You sure have a strange way of asking me to be you girlfriend…”

The boy only smirked and stated simply, “I pride with my methods of minimal quandaries with maximum efficiency. Besides, I also got rid of those pesky ephebophilic loons that are obviously after your skirt when you get older.”

Her gaze turns into a glare as her blush intensifies, “I appreciate your concern… But actually declaring it while sexually harassing me in front of them is not something I would call decent as well!”

“Sexual harassment?” Aurion replies with a raised eyebrow, “Don’t be ridiculous. Though it does make sense; seeing that even a simple pat on your shoulder already counts as molesting for you.”

“Chigau! I just feel very uncomfortable when people touch me.”

“I’m touching you right now.”

“W-well… Since it’s you… Ah, mou~!” she shakes her head several times in embarrassment, “Anyway, not many people can somehow not make me feel uncomfortable with this…”

“Good. It leaves more of you for me, then.”

“AURION!”

“Hahahaha!”

“Baka!”

“Ow…”

“……”

“……”

“Congratulations on the promotion, by the way, Sergeant~!” Almaria says while giggling

“Thanks. You should also hurry up and get promoted over that loudmouthed Private back there as well.”

“I would. But unlike you, I like to take things slowly.” She then giggles and sticks out her tongue.

“…………………………”

Upon reaching the entrance to Almaria’s room, the both of them stop walking. Aurion looks down sideways at his companion, the normal edge in his gaze being replaced by a look of fondness as Almaria uncharacteristically leans in to the one-armed embrace; a gesture that was an absolute rarity from someone like her; a gesture that proves more than any mere words of the bond she shared with him; a gesture of acceptance; of affection…

Light azure meets ebon as she stares up fondly at his eyes and smiles, “Ne, Aurion…”

“Hmm?”

“I missed you…” she murmurs softly as her eyes starts to moisten with unrestrained emotion, “It just wasn’t the same when you’re not here… I felt so alone… even when surrounded by such kind and friendly people… even with Altair…”

“Mattaku.” Aurion sighs as he lightly tightens his hold on her, “Almaria… you just turned 17 today and you’re still being clingy… Who’s supposed to be the senior here, Onee-chan?”

“Uu~” comes a light indignant moan as she buries her face onto his uniform, “And you’re still being a mean little brother as always.” She sniffles a little, “You should show me some respect since I’m one year older…”

“A year older but about five years behind in terms of maturity…”

“Uu~… Aurion, hidoi~…”

“Hehehe… Sorry… Do you want me to change my attitude as another birthday gift? …Since I took more than my fair share by claiming you as my girlfriend today.”

“…… Uhn…”

“I’ll change it, then?”

“No, you won’t.” she replies as her arms wrap tightly around his midsection, “I like you because of what you are; both you’re good and the bad traits are what makes the Aurion that I adore.” her whispers through the folds of the fabric were soft, but very clear… “If you want to give me a present that I like…” her hug tightens, “Then promise me… that you won’t be away from me like that ever again… okay?”

“I’ll try.” Aurion replies as he lowers his head onto her thick mane of hair and inhales deeply, taking in her distinctly sweet fragrance, the smell of lavender, just like the color of her hair. “No, I definitely will.” A most rare smile appears on his face, “I kinda miss this…” his other arm encircles her slender body as well, completing the tender exchange of affection. Affection that grew along with them as children to what they are now; and one that will grow stronger as time passes… “I’ll be looking forward to working together with you and Altair again, Almaria…”

“I will enjoy with you and Vega as well… Aurion…” is her reply as they held each other in a peaceful embrace, staying that way for several more minutes. The two of them savored each other's comforting presence, a presence which both of them sorely missed. Several minutes later, Almaria raises her head with an adoring gaze and a fond smile… A look that held more meaning than any other time before…

Silence reigned the area as the girl stands on tiptoe and…

I hope I conveyed the scenario properly... There are some plotholes... But I just attributed it to some leniency, considering it's TSAB. Almaria came out just fine for me. But I do hope that this Aurion feels different in nature compared to the current one... Though it still felt lacking... Comments?

She also held a lot of respect for the researcher, Reban Innova; who was responsible for bringing her and Aurion into TSAB service in the first place. She and Aurion both seem to feel a strangely calming aura around the elderly man. This person is also the one responsible for creating Aurion and Almaria’s custom devices, namely Vega and Altair. She considers the Spectral Enforcers as the family she never had.


Barrier Jacket: She was a most noticeable figure in the Spectral Enforcers, owing to the fact that her Barrier Jacket was the only one that wasn’t an offshoot of the standard Enforcer BJ design. Her outfit contained a mostly rosy white sleeved vest with lavender accents that reaches a few inches down her waist. Her arms had lightly decorated bracers, the hands having black fingerless gloves with white knuckle-guards and her combat boots were of the lightweight type and that reached halfway up her calves. Both bracers and boots had similar color schemes to her vest. Her legs were adorned with black cycling shorts that reached halfway down her thighs. She had it designed specifically to allow her maximum mobility and flexibility during combat.

Unsurprisingly, the outfit also had the added effect (actually a nuisance, according to Aurion) of drawing the eyes of the males in then male-dominated Naval Corps. Almaria, despite being a tad embarrassed, amiably brushed off the minor irritant as irrelevant when compared to the performance boost she obtains in such a design.



Device: Intelligent Device: Altair:

One of the two specialized experimental devices made by the researcher Reban Innova; the other being Aurion’s Vega. It takes the form of an energy pistol with two opposable barrels. It is outfitted with the then uncommonly used cartridge system, housing up to four cartridges at a time. It had design specifics that were only known to Reban. The A.I. has a young and polite male voice. Regarding its other specs, it has a high amount of targeting and control-amplification capability. Reban claimed that Altair and Vega would only work in their best potential when used by Almaria and Aurion; and this turned out to be true. Its portable mode takes the form of an A-shaped pendant attached to a beaded necklace.



Fighting Style: As mentioned above, her fighting style is like distinctively graceful trance. Where she seems to be simply swaying and dipping gracefully; very much like dancing whilst firing precision shots. Her movements are elegant as she seemingly weaves through attacks at a hairsbreadth of hitting her. Her barriers are impressively maneuverable, being able to deflect smaller shots and even acts as makeshift springboards if she needs to dodge quickly. Her most impressive magical skill though has to be her attacks. She oftentimes fire off moderate to high-power projectiles that are almost always quite small but have high precision and power. During close-quarters combat, when enough of these shots are in the air, an area of ten meters around her becomes an equally beautiful and deadly projectile-saturated zone. In this stage, she fully enters a trance where she dances inside the projectile deathzone, almost assuring that anybody else trapped there without suitable defenses is defeated in short order. Her degree of control over her shots is heightened by Altair’s specialized design, allowing her to control several dozen projectiles while still moving with apparent ease. Even to the point that she actually shoots herself with the controlled bullets, dodging them at the last second and making them hit her opponents instead; essentially using her own body as the enemy’s blind spot. The Lavender orbs of energy shifts at varying speeds, shifting and swirling, creating a tantalizing sight to behold.

Aurion seems to be the only person to be able to handle her techniques easily, seeing as how he usually works with her style every time they are fighting together. Not being an outright offensive mage, he tends to use pinpoint tactical shots on certain spots that allow him to stage a multi-step surgical strike. This exchange either ends up in Aurion getting hit by multiple projectiles and losing or managing to capture Almaria in a bind or hitting her with a high-knockdown power shot that ruins her mobility and eventually her trance, essentially winning the match (Aurion has been seen to defend well against Almaria’s bullets when she loses concentration). Amusingly, she gets mad at some instances where Aurion wins. Not because of the fact that she loses, but because Aurion always ends the said matches with binds on her, which she dislikes. Aurion does not change this style due to the facts that it’s one of the most efficient way in dealing against her ‘dances’ and also just to irritate her; even going as far as not releasing her for a few minutes even after the sparring has ended.

Her performance becomes several times more impressive when paired with Aurion. The two of them seems to share a strange connection that allows them to work together like a single entity. The extent of their compatibility is so great that when teamed up, they can take on enemies that exceed their overall prowess. Despite the number of Almaria’s bullets and Aurion’s illusions, they never slip in their synch and functions amazingly well.

Going by standard analysis, Almaria has the more powerful Linker Core of the two. Her focus is primarily on agile offense, preferring several lower-powered shots over high-power singular ones. However, Aurion has a noticeably faster casting time and slightly more powerful attacks than her. Her defenses are relatively decent. She and Aurion both seem to feel a strangely calming aura around the elderly man. This person is also the one responsible for creating Aurion and Almaria’s custom devices, namely Vega and Altair. She considers the Spectral Enforcers as the family she never had.


Barrier Jacket: She was a most noticeable figure in the Spectral Enforcers, owing to the fact that her Barrier Jacket was the only one that wasn’t an offshoot of the standard Enforcer BJ design. Her outfit contained a mostly rosy white sleeved vest with lavender accents that reaches a few inches down her waist. Her arms had lightly decorated bracers, the hands having black fingerless gloves with white knuckle-guards and her combat boots were of the lightweight type and that reached halfway up her calves. Both bracers and boots had similar color schemes to her vest. Her legs were adorned with black cycling shorts that reached halfway down her thighs. She had it designed specifically to allow her maximum mobility and flexibility during combat.

Unsurprisingly, the outfit also had the added effect (actually a nuisance, according to Aurion) of drawing the eyes of the males in then male-dominated Naval Corps. Almaria, despite being a tad embarrassed, amiably brushed off the minor irritant as irrelevant when compared to the performance boost she obtains in such a design.

One of the two specialized experimental devices made by the researcher Reban Innova; the other being Aurion’s Vega. It takes the form of an energy pistol with two opposable barrels. It is outfitted with the then uncommonly used cartridge system, housing up to four cartridges at a time. It had design specifics that were only known to Reban. The A.I. has a young and polite male voice. Regarding its other specs, it has a high amount of targeting and control-amplification capability. Reban claimed that Altair and Vega would only work in their best potential when used by Almaria and Aurion; and this turned out to be true. Its portable mode takes the form of an A-shaped pendant attached to a beaded necklace.



Fighting Style: As mentioned above, her fighting style is like distinctively graceful trance. Where she seems to be simply swaying and dipping gracefully; very much like dancing whilst firing precision shots. Her movements are elegant as she seemingly weaves through attacks at a hairsbreadth of hitting her. Her barriers are impressively maneuverable, being able to deflect smaller shots and even acts as makeshift springboards if she needs to dodge quickly. Her most impressive magical skill though has to be her attacks. She oftentimes fire off moderate to high-power projectiles that are almost always quite small but have high precision and power. During close-quarters combat, when enough of these shots are in the air, an area of ten meters around her becomes an equally beautiful and deadly projectile-saturated zone. In this stage, she fully enters a trance where she dances inside the projectile deathzone, almost assuring that anybody else trapped there without suitable defenses is defeated in short order. Her degree of control over her shots is heightened by Altair’s specialized design, allowing her to control several dozen projectiles while still moving with apparent ease. Even to the point that she actually shoots herself with the controlled bullets, dodging them at the last second and making them hit her opponents instead; essentially using her own body as the enemy’s blind spot. The Lavender orbs of energy shifts at varying speeds, shifting and swirling, creating a tantalizing sight to behold.

Aurion seems to be the only person to be able to handle her techniques easily, seeing as how he usually works with her style every time they are fighting together. Not being an outright offensive mage, he tends to use pinpoint tactical shots on certain spots that allow him to stage a multi-step surgical strike. This exchange either ends up in Aurion getting hit by multiple projectiles and losing or managing to capture Almaria in a bind or hitting her with a high-knockdown power shot that ruins her mobility and eventually her trance, essentially winning the match (Aurion has been seen to defend well against Almaria’s bullets when she loses concentration). Amusingly, she gets mad at some instances where Aurion wins. Not because of the fact that she loses, but because Aurion always ends the said matches with binds on her, which she dislikes. Aurion does not change this style due to the facts that it’s one of the most efficient way in dealing against her ‘dances’ and also just to irritate her; even going as far as not releasing her for a few minutes even after the sparring has ended.

Her performance becomes several times more impressive when paired with Aurion. The two of them seems to share a strange connection that allows them to work together like a single entity. The extent of their compatibility is so great that when teamed up, they can take on enemies that exceed their overall prowess. Despite the number of Almaria’s bullets and Aurion’s illusions, they never slip in their synch and functions amazingly well.

Going by standard analysis, Almaria has the more powerful Linker Core of the two. Her focus is primarily on agile offense, preferring several lower-powered shots over high-power singular ones. However, Aurion has a noticeably faster casting time and slightly more powerful attacks than her. Her defenses are relatively decent. Profile: A silent and brooding person. A childhood friend, and also Almaria’s boyfriend. Was recruited into TSAB four months before Almaria. He proved to be a very talented and diligent trainee, gaining favor from the infamous Instructor Austin Abrams of the Air Force due to his commendable grit and fortitude even under the harshest of trainings. He rose fairly quickly along the ranks, earning the title of an Ace at fourteen years of age. Despite his age, he was notoriously famous for his oftentimes heartless method against opponents. He first killed a person when he was 13. He got transferred into the Navy a year after Almaria, becoming Spectrum 3 of the Spectral Enforcers. This would be his last position before the Perfect Void Incident and retiring from the army.


Personality: Serious, taciturn and a bit tactless. The Aurion from seventeen years ago can be considered worlds apart from the current one. He’s generally courteous, but can be a terrible adversary when angered. His nature as a child is rather dubious, only having a very small social circle. He finds it difficult to trust other people, initially only trusting Almaria. He prefers the company of higher-ranked and generally older people, having a large amount of respect for several of them. His peers were rather wary of him, and his attitude did little to help quell the cautious regards. Regardless, he was clear-headed and has a soft spot for kids. He generally talks with others in a polite but emotionless tone. He had a lot of interest in Device-mechanics, and took his free time as an occasional assistant to the researcher and Device-manufacturer, Reban Innova.

On a more positive note, he has somewhat lightened up through the years, thanks to the influence of other members of the Spectral Enforcers; although his abilities of sarcasm has also grown. As a soldier, he is considered to be a workaholic. To further this point, he also had a bad habit of pushing himself too much when work is involved. He's also very frugal about mundane tasks. His things are usually kept orderly. He can cook if need be, but he never bothers in making the dishes attractive. He has a bit of a soft spot for children, especially orphans such as himself. He also gets rather embarrassed when subjected to doting by elderly people.

His moral code was very utilitarian, as he had no qualms about killing a few to save several others. Almaria was very worried of this fact, remembering that Aurion was quite disturbed after his first time in killing a person. This is also the reason why he got the moniker, "Ace of the Heartless." He got his other nickname, "Hell's Inquisitor"; from the fact that he uses Willbreaker coupled with moderate to extreme physical torture when interrogating captured opponents. His main reasoning for being such is protecting those who are important to him and preventing more children like him in following the same fate.

I'm already a killer... But it doesn't matter. As long as those kids I know never end up like me. If I have to throw away my conscience in dealing with threats, so be it! Better me than them! Even if I've already become a demon, at least I'm sure I'm still able to protect what are important to me.

The only person whom Aurion seems to be completely relaxed around is Almaria. Even to the extent of taking an almost 180 degree turn in disposition. This includes actually being laid back and smiling constantly; as well as teasing her. Even when around other people, he never bothers to hide this change. Likewise, he was the only person the normally mature and professional Almaria acted completely relaxed and 'cute' with; most notably being comfortable in physical contact with him. They also like sparring with each other, with the score 35-32 in Aurion's favor.



Relationships: Needless to say, Aurion was an antisocial and cold individual to strangers. Even towards acquaintances, he rarely ever talks with them with complete sincerity, save for Almaria and some other people he respects. Gil Graham, Austin Abrams and the researcher named Reban Innova are some of the few people he holds complete respect for. The person he is closest to is without a doubt, Almaria. The reason for this stems back to when he was four... Almaria was the only person who bothered trying to talk and make friends with him, reasoning that they had the same birthday so they should at least get along well. Curiously, there was something more to their closeness than just being long-time acquaintances... A strange link that was forged between them ever since that day; allowing them a limited but accurate mutual perception. The reason behind this remains a mystery up to this day.

With that aside, his first ever, and only childhood friend was Almaria. She acted like a big sister to him, sometimes getting a reversal of roles in some circumstances. They complemented each other very well, one being stiff and emotionless while the other was bright and cheerful. As they grew up, their relationship only got stronger; culminating into being an item after one year of separation in service of TSAB.

They were really an almost perfect pair; both as people and as combatants. They worked practically flawlessly when in tandem, even at one time defeating two more-experienced S-ranked opponents despite the difference in rank, power and skill. Their abilities in combat as a pair was unbelievably good, one being a tactical and systematic aggressor and the other being a graceful range-attacker; both functioning as a single harmonized entity; almost as if having the same mind. Their lack of any melee specialization almost meant nothing when one sees them, as they support each other so well that they seemed to have a counter for just about anything, even covering flaws that both of them shared. In fact, they just worked TOO well as a team that it was almost inhuman. This was quite an oddity by those times; seeing as they seemed to be connected so well to the extent that they can actually feel each other’s presence when they are in similar locations… Some tests were run on the two, yet nothing out of the ordinary was found.

Unlike other people who've just become lovers, there's hardly any sense of shyness between them. There were also a very deep level of trust and respect for each other, assuring that they never let their adolescent impulses from taking their intimacy too far; promising each other that they will both wait until they are both old and mature enough to commit to each other. The leader of the Spectral Enforcers once made a comment that, "Che. They've just become an item. But from what I can see, their bond and understanding of each other is far, far better than most of the married couples I've seen."

He liked using combinations of illusion and temperature manipulation spells, essentially confusing the opponent and holding them in place with simple but effective ice spells/binds to be easily hit by finishing blows. His defenses were solid, and his speed was pretty decent. His attack capabilities were more suited for single-hit technical blows rather than battery attacks. He had particularly excellent control over few high-powered remote shot spells; being able to control them even at semi-sniping range. When close quarters combat is unavoidable, he usually surrounds himself with some Stinger Blades and uses the MEB (Magic Energy Bayonet) on Vega in order to gain distance. Given the right position, he is capable of bringing down much tougher opponents by using opportune openings and observed weaknesses to strike.

Frost Cannon: Aurion gathers a considerable amount of energy and shoots the opponent with a sustained beam of magical energy. The attack power is lower compared to Blaze Cannon but has the additional effect of encasing the target hit in a relatively thick layer of ice.

Special Spell:

Willbreaker: A specialized depressant spell. Aurion uses this spell to impede the target’s use of cohesive thinking due to directly sending impulses to the brain that messes up the several mental functions. Direct skin contact is needed on an area near the target’s spinal column. Aurion uses his hand in touching the target’s nape for best results. No long term damage is done to brain of the target as this spell only act like a potent drug. He used this mainly in interrogating; where he would use moderate to elevated physical torture combined with this spell to easily break the wills of the interrogated.

And now, for another scenario.
The following is a scenario right after a severe terrorism and kidnapping incident. Several of the subjects were too dangerous and were eliminated accordingly. Aurion got the majority of the kills, managing to finish off even the leader.

A lanky figure can be seen slumped over a broken wall, his eyes covered by the fringes of his hair. He’s clutching a device in the form of a rifle. He was almost a statue, if not for the light heaving of his chest.

What made that bastard so different from the rest? How come his words managed to bother me this much?

His grip on his device tightens as he grits his teeth, trying to will away the maddening crazed tone from replaying in his head…

“Damare!” the quiet but clear word burst out of his mouth as he slammed his fist onto the wall behind him, creating several cracks on the worn concrete. His heaving got heavier as he tried to regain his composure.

And that’s… when I killed him… Why am I having these doubts now? Haven’t I promised myself of a never-wavering certainty? Kuso… Naze da?!

“Ungh!” Almaria gasped and clutched her chest, surprised by the sudden alien pain that didn’t come from her. Aurion…

“Onee-chan?” the three kids in front of her simultaneously exclaimed with worry.

“Ah… I-I’m fine…” She forced out a gentle smile. But later looked over worriedly over her shoulder, her dearest friend in her mind…

‘Aurion… Do you need to talk?’

‘You finish the ending procedures first, please… I’m okay… I just need a break… That last fight took a lot more than necessary out of me…’

‘U-understood…’

‘By the way, sorry about that. I’ll try to calm down a bit…’

Almaria’s expression only became more worried. ‘Please don’t worry about me. You’re talking to me after this, alright?’

‘Hai, hai… Onee-chan…’

I should have known Almaria would sense my discomfort… Aurion berated himself as he placed his knuckle on his forehead, a rueful smile playing on his lips. Making a girl worry just because of a little emo moment… Hahaha…

“Onii-chan! Onii-chan!”

“Huh?” Aurion opened his eyes, the sight of two very young kids, one girl and one boy greeting him. Sighing lightly, he smiled and faced them properly, also letting Vega form back into a necklace to wrap around his wrist. It was probably because of the similarities with him, he always found it rather comforting around kids like them… “How may I help you?”

The younger kid, the girl, only moved forward and presented him with a small bowl of fruits, “Here Onii-chan! You looked tired so we decided to bring you some snacks!”

The boy then spoke up, “Yeah! You should also take a break at a proper place instead of out here! All those cool moves must have been tiring!”

“Wha-?” as it would seem, it looks like these two were the ones who saw him fighting off the last terrorist… “Thanks… But I’m alright here.”

The girl look a bit hurt, but shook her head and once again offered the bowl, “B-but at least take some!”
“Yeah, please! She picked the fruits herself!”

“Oh…” Aurion blinked and then smiled warmly, reaching over and picking one fruit from the bowl, “Thanks… Itadakimasu.” He then took a bite out of the fruit… And it turned out to be really good. “Hmm… It’s great.” are his words as he gazed at the younger child with a smile, making her blush cutely.

The older of the two started talking enthusiastically, “Say, Onii-chan. When I grow up, I want to be an Enforcer just like you!”

“Hoh?” Aurion’s eyebrows rose with intrigue. “For what reason, may I ask?”

The kid started bouncing on his heels in excitement, “So I can do all those cool things you did a while ago!”

“Hah?”

“You know; those awesome shots and then that last large beam that you used to finish the bad guy off!” the kid was now positively giddy with enthusiasm, “I want to be able to do those too and beat up the bad guys!”

“Uh…” Aurion only gaped back in trepidation at the child… Talking about his job like it was just some sort of game… Is this what that person meant as people starting to see killing as entertainment?

“Yeah! And then that-”
“No…”
“Heh?”

Aurion silently shook his head and dropped a reprimanding hand on the head of the young boy.

“O-onii-chan?”

“That’s… not what it means to be an Enforcer like me…”

No… This isn’t what I live for…

“I didn’t enlist in this job to be able to fight and defeat bad people…”

“Then what-?”

“Do you know? I never feel happy every time I kill a person, no matter how bad they are; no matter how much I dislike them…”

I knew this the very moment I enlisted into TSAB…

“Ah-?”

“No matter what reason, no matter what people from opposing sides feel, it all comes down to the fact that we are hurting and killing each other… Tell me, do you honestly think that you will be happy if you just mindlessly kill people your commanders and rules brand as bad?”

Killing isn’t my desire… It is only my duty…

“O-ore…”

“Besides, it is not our primary duty to fight. It is to stop things like this from happening… But that also isn’t the reason why I stick to this job…”

My reason is…

“So… Onii-chan… Why are you an Enforcer then? Why are you still one when you’re not happy about it?”

“I’m glad you asked…” Aurion replies as he reaches over and pats the girl’s head as well, “What makes me happy… Is the fact that I know I am able to protect those that are important to me. As well as protecting the people who shouldn’t be harmed by the activities of people like them…” he turns back to the boy, “Instead of trying to be a hero and accomplishing nothing except being guilty for your actions… Why not just become someone that can make other people happy and not harm them?”

This.

The two kids only stared back in awe at him’ clearly thinking about what he just said.

“Well… Do you understand me?”

The boy looked shameful for several moments before perking up and smiling again, “Yes! But I’m still going to be an Enforcer like you!”

“Huh?”

“But… I’ll become one so I can protect my sister, my family and those that need to be protected! That way, everybody can be happy, right?”
“Niichan…”
“I promise that, my sister!”
“Ah, hai!”

Aurion couldn’t help but chuckle in relief and ruffle the two kids’ hair, “That’s better…”

“Aurion! The procedures have been finished!” Almaria’s voice chimed out over the other side of the wall, “The commander is also calling for us now!”

“Ahh. Understood!” Aurion called back. Turning back to the two kids, “Well, I have to go now. Remember what I said, okay?”

“Hai!”

“Thanks…” Aurion picks up another fruit, “Mind if I take another one?”

The girl blushes again and shakes her head, “No! They’re all for you, anyway…”

“Just two is enough. Give the rest to those who needs it.”

“Hai.”

Standing up, Aurion started walking towards Almaria’s location while accompanied by the two kids, eating along the way.

Just as Aurion and the two kids rounded the last corner, Almaria’s distraught tone resounded clearly in the air, “I-iya~! W-what are you doing?!”

“Heh?” Aurion looks with confusion at the direction of the cry of surprise, only to hold back a sudden impulse of laughter at his girlfriend’s current predicament.

The children had obviously gained a liking to Almaria, and clearly didn’t want her to leave just yet. Each of her arms was held by a pair of hands from two of the other three children they saved. The shortest kid had latched himself to her legs, hugging her around the knees; essentially pinning her legs together and holding her down on the spot. She was already blushing slightly as she tried to gently detach the children from her body. However, she wasn’t faring very well and had no choice but to try not losing balance.

“C’mon, Onee-chan! Just play with us a little longer!”

“Ah… But I already have to leave. I’ll just-Oo-ooh! Hanashite~!”

“Iyada! Stay here longer!”

“Aurion, tasukete~!”

Instead of trying to help, Aurion simply planted his face on his palm and snickered, much to Almaria’s indignation.

‘Aurion!’

‘Hey, you got yourself into this, you get yourself out.’

‘Uu~! But they might-’

Aurion cut her off in mid-thought, ‘Can’t say no to kids, Onee-chan?’

She gave him a glare as her face grew redder, ‘Why do you always have to be mean to me?!’

‘I’m just being honest, Almaria.’

‘Mou~!’ she then started to loose her balance. “A-ahn~!” and fell down on her rear as even more children, including the boy Aurion talked to earlier, latched themselves unto her helpless form. “Uu~! Mou, yamete~!” she whined endearingly as she squirmed weakly against her little captors’ hugging restraints.

“IYADA!”

Aurion chuckled some more before glancing down while smiling at his device in portable form, “Everything recorded, Vega?”

[Yes... Though why are you making me record this irrelevant scene?]

“Just for entertainment’s sake.” is his only reply as he idly spun the V-shaped pendant between his fingers. “Well, I guess this should do…” he then raises his voice, “Oi, kids! That’s enough!”

After some considerable coaxing, the children reluctantly released their unlikely ‘hostage’, who promptly threw herself into Aurion’s arms in relief. After some more goodbyes, Aurion and Almaria flew off towards the rendezvous point.

After gaining some distance from the place, Almaria turned to her boyfriend flying beside her, “You no longer seemed to be troubled as much, Aurion…”

“Yeah. Thanks to those kids…”

“There are a lot of good children there, don’t you think?”

“Hmm…” Aurion nods, later shooting Almaria an amused glance, “Pretty good at clinging to a certain girl as well.”

“Mou!”

“Hey, it just goes to prove how easily you can get popular with us guys, regardless of age or location.”

“But I never asked for that to happen!”

“Oh, you don’t need to ask. I suppose it’s just an out-of-control inherent skill.”

“Uu~, hidoi~!”

“In what way is complementing you about your obvious attractiveness being mean?”

“I am NOT some sort of male-magnet!”

“Hahaha! Whatever, princess. We’re going to have such a good laugh when we get back!”

“Hey! I know you took a video of me a while ago! Delete that!”

“Heeh~? Why? You looked so cute struggling while you were being accosted by those kids.”

“Aurion, erase it now! Please?”

“No go…” Aurion then proceeds to speed up his flight.

“Aurion!” Almaria gives chase, though not having much luck due to his higher flight maneuverability. She would later give up and fly forward with puffed cheeks, with the intention of beating him to the base.

Aurion only stares ahead at his in a huff girlfriend while chuckling. A few moments later, the previous scenarios today would replay in his mind.

Aurion, slightly lagging behind the high speed flight, contemplated the recent events in his mind. I’m… not going to be like you… Aurion glances at Almaria’s lithe frame, which was flying a few meters ahead of him. He closes his eyes tightly as he concentrates on his sworn duty. I cherish the people and things that I must protect… This isn’t just my duty… This is my conviction! We may both be devils now… But I’m a different devil compared to you.

He once again opens his eyes, only to find Almaria’s face right in front of his. He wasn’t able to notice her slowing down and positioning directly opposed to him. “Almaria?”

“Aurion…”

“What are you-?” Aurion tried to talk but was cut short and rendered speechless by Almaria’s lips meeting his; eyes widening in surprise.

Almaria pulled back, revealing her melancholic eyes focused at him, “Daijoubu…” she said softly, just enough to let him hear her voice over the rushing air, “Don‘t let his words get to you… You are different… Because I know more than anybody else can; that we are important to you.” Her eyes shone with faith in him, “Dakara… Please stay the same… Our-…My reliable but silent partner.” She then smiled encouragingly.

Aurion could only gaze back at his girlfriend, an uncertain emotion in his eyes, “Orewa…” Aurion once again closes his eyes in deep thought.

“Aurion?” Almaria flies closer. “Are you al-Mmmphh!” it was her turn to be rendered speechless as Aurion kissed her this time. She let out a breathless gasp, her face blushing brightly as he pulled back and grinned roguishly.

“You don’t have to worry. Since I’m already sure with the matter myself…” Aurion said while still grinning. Despite these words, his heart felt lighter and more reassured. “Regardless, thank you Almaria.”

Almaria blushed prettily and nodded while smiling. “Don’t worry. I’m always here for you, just as you’re always there for me.”

A small silence formed between the two as they stared at each other; their own personal resolve strengthening with each passing moment. Aurion would break the silence a few moments later.

“Ahh. But…” Aurion’s smile grew wider, “I’m still keeping this video!” he then held out his left wrist bearing Vega; watching Almaria’s face flush darkly before speeding away laughing. And as if that wasn’t enough, “I wonder how much they would pay if I had this auctioned at the base!”

“Ah-ah… I…” Almaria stammered as she saw him zoom away. She then shakes her head furiously and glowers at quickly zipping away Aurion, speeding up her flight as well, “AURION! Come back here, you baka!”

“Hahahaha!”

The rest of the team could only shake their heads in wonder at the laughing couple who reached them later.

Yes… as long as I have them… I won’t hesitate. I’m sure about this… This is all someone like me can do. And I’ll make sure I won’t fail!

And some combination attacks!

COMBINATION ATTACKS: Aurion and Almaria’s almost absolute empathic link allowed them for a number of combination assaults as a single unit.

Dual Turbo Blitz Strike/D.T.B.S: One of their combination attacks, this one being set as the ranged attack. Almaria would initiate her trance with more than a hundred bullets of mixed Impact and Piercer Bolts using two cartridges. She would then start advancing towards the opponent. Aurion would first engage one enemy up close; letting Almaria’s shots (all of which amazingly never even graze him) cover for his lack of melee specialization. He would then either bind or incapacitate the opponent with any appropriate spell (usually using two cartridges for best effect), falling back into Almaria’s blizzard of projectiles afterwards. At this point, he would join Almaria and her shots in completely mauling down the opponent with innumerable energy projectiles, finishing the assault when Aurion Sonic Moves behind the opponent and stabs the enemy with his MEB (using up another cartridge) and shoot him/her towards Almaria. She would then shoot with her own MEB followed by a Kinetic Buster (using up her remaining cartridges), blowing back the enemy towards Aurion for him to finish off with a cartridge-boosted Break Impulse. A definitive elimination maneuver, the target is not expected to make it out alive after this.

Eye of the Storm Assault/E.S.A.: The close-ranged variation of the first combination assault. Almaria and Aurion would simultaneously engage the adversary up close with a staggering amount of controlled shots. They would rely on their agility, Aurion’s occasional illusions and the sheer volume of the shots to avoid any counterattacks the enemy might try.

Finally!
This time, I sure hope he feels different from the current one. For the scene where he talks with the two kids, just imagine Setsuna from Gundam 00 talking with Gimmy and Darry from Gurren Lagann. Vega is based off Zeta Gundam's beam rifle.

And though unintentionally, I managed to put in even more rabu-rabu and some fanservice as well.

Profile: A silent and brooding person. A childhood friend, and also Almaria’s boyfriend. Was recruited into TSAB four months before Almaria. He proved to be a very talented and diligent trainee, gaining favor from the infamous Instructor Austin Abrams of the Air Force due to his commendable grit and fortitude even under the harshest of trainings. He rose fairly quickly along the ranks, earning the title of an Ace at fourteen years of age. Despite his age, he was notoriously famous for his oftentimes heartless method against opponents. He first killed a person when he was 13. He got transferred into the Navy a year after Almaria, becoming Spectrum 3 of the Spectral Enforcers. This would be his last position before the Perfect Void Incident and retiring from the army.


Personality: Serious, taciturn and a bit tactless. The Aurion from seventeen years ago can be considered worlds apart from the current one. He’s generally courteous, but can be a terrible adversary when angered. His nature as a child is rather dubious, only having a very small social circle. He finds it difficult to trust other people, initially only trusting Almaria. He prefers the company of higher-ranked and generally older people, having a large amount of respect for several of them. His peers were rather wary of him, and his attitude did little to help quell the cautious regards. Regardless, he was clear-headed and has a soft spot for kids. He generally talks with others in a polite but emotionless tone. He had a lot of interest in Device-mechanics, and took his free time as an occasional assistant to the researcher and Device-manufacturer, Reban Innova.

On a more positive note, he has somewhat lightened up through the years, thanks to the influence of other members of the Spectral Enforcers; although his abilities of sarcasm has also grown. As a soldier, he is considered to be a workaholic. To further this point, he also had a bad habit of pushing himself too much when work is involved. He's also very frugal about mundane tasks. His things are usually kept orderly. He can cook if need be, but he never bothers in making the dishes attractive. He has a bit of a soft spot for children, especially orphans such as himself. He also gets rather embarrassed when subjected to doting by elderly people.

His moral code was very utilitarian, as he had no qualms about killing a few to save several others. Almaria was very worried of this fact, remembering that Aurion was quite disturbed after his first time in killing a person. This is also the reason why he got the moniker, "Ace of the Heartless." He got his other nickname, "Hell's Inquisitor"; from the fact that he uses Willbreaker coupled with moderate to extreme physical torture when interrogating captured opponents. His main reasoning for being such is protecting those who are important to him and preventing more children like him in following the same fate.

I'm already a killer... But it doesn't matter. As long as those kids I know never end up like me. If I have to throw away my conscience in dealing with threats, so be it! Better me than them! Even if I've already become a demon, at least I'm sure I'm still able to protect what are important to me.

The only person whom Aurion seems to be completely relaxed around is Almaria. Even to the extent of taking an almost 180 degree turn in disposition. This includes actually being laid back and smiling constantly; as well as teasing her. Even when around other people, he never bothers to hide this change. Likewise, he was the only person the normally mature and professional Almaria acted completely relaxed and 'cute' with; most notably being comfortable in physical contact with him. They also like sparring with each other, with the score 35-32 in Aurion's favor.



Relationships: Needless to say, Aurion was an antisocial and cold individual to strangers. Even towards acquaintances, he rarely ever talks with them with complete sincerity, save for Almaria and some other people he respects. Gil Graham, Austin Abrams and the researcher named Reban Innova are some of the few people he holds complete respect for. The person he is closest to is without a doubt, Almaria. The reason for this stems back to when he was four... Almaria was the only person who bothered trying to talk and make friends with him, reasoning that they had the same birthday so they should at least get along well. Curiously, there was something more to their closeness than just being long-time acquaintances... A strange link that was forged between them ever since that day; allowing them a limited but accurate mutual perception. The reason behind this remains a mystery up to this day.

With that aside, his first ever, and only childhood friend was Almaria. She acted like a big sister to him, sometimes getting a reversal of roles in some circumstances. They complemented each other very well, one being stiff and emotionless while the other was bright and cheerful. As they grew up, their relationship only got stronger; culminating into being an item after one year of separation in service of TSAB.

They were really an almost perfect pair; both as people and as combatants. They worked practically flawlessly when in tandem, even at one time defeating two more-experienced S-ranked opponents despite the difference in rank, power and skill. Their abilities in combat as a pair was unbelievably good, one being a tactical and systematic aggressor and the other being a graceful range-attacker; both functioning as a single harmonized entity; almost as if having the same mind. Their lack of any melee specialization almost meant nothing when one sees them, as they support each other so well that they seemed to have a counter for just about anything, even covering flaws that both of them shared. In fact, they just worked TOO well as a team that it was almost inhuman. This was quite an oddity by those times; seeing as they seemed to be connected so well to the extent that they can actually feel each other’s presence when they are in similar locations… Some tests were run on the two, yet nothing out of the ordinary was found.

Unlike other people who've just become lovers, there's hardly any sense of shyness between them. There were also a very deep level of trust and respect for each other, assuring that they never let their adolescent impulses from taking their intimacy too far; promising each other that they will both wait until they are both old and mature enough to commit to each other. The leader of the Spectral Enforcers once made a comment that, "Che. They've just become an item. But from what I can see, their bond and understanding of each other is far, far better than most of the married couples I've seen."

He also held a lot of respect for the researcher, Reban Innova; who was responsible for bringing him and Almaria into TSAB service in the first place. He and Almaria both seem to feel a strangely calming aura around the elderly man. This person is also the one responsible for creating Aurion and Almaria’s custom devices, namely Vega and Altair. He would later also consider the Spectral Enforcers as the family he never had.



Barrier Jacket: Aurion’s Barrier Jacket was very similar to the standard Enforcer BJ design. The only noticeable difference was the darker color scheme with sharper details and a lighter frame. The performance of his requested design was significantly better than those of standard ones, allowing for good agility and defense at the same time.

One of the two specialized experimental devices made by the researcher Reban Innova; the other being Almaria's Altair. It takes the form of light energy rifle outfitted with the then uncommonly used cartridge system, housing up to four cartridges at a time. It had design specifics that were only known to Reban. The A.I. has a young and serious female voice. Regarding its other specs, it has a high amount of targeting and control-amplification capability. Reban claimed that Altair and Vega would only work in their best potential when used by Almaria and Aurion; and this turned out to be true. Its portable mode takes the form of a V-shaped pendant attached to a chain necklace. Aurion carries it around by having it wrapped around his left wrist instead of his neck. This is for almost instant access to it whenever it is needed; enabling him to whip out the rifle-device with just a flick of the wrist.


Fighting Style: Despite having very decent magic potential and combat skills, Aurion preferred to fight tactically even on the frontlines. He liked using combinations of illusion and temperature manipulation spells, essentially confusing the opponent and holding them in place with simple but effective ice spells/binds to be easily hit by finishing blows. His defenses were solid, and his speed was pretty decent. His attack capabilities were more suited for single-hit technical blows rather than battery attacks. He had particularly excellent control over few high-powered remote shot spells; being able to control them even at semi-sniping range. When close quarters combat is unavoidable, he usually surrounds himself with some Stinger Blades and uses the MEB (Magic Energy Bayonet) on Vega in order to gain distance. Given the right position, he is capable of bringing down much tougher opponents by using opportune openings and observed weaknesses to strike.

His performance becomes several times more impressive when paired with Almaria. The two of them seems to share a strange connection that allows them to work together like a single entity. The extent of their compatibility is so great that when teamed up, they can take on enemies that exceed their overall prowess. Despite the number of Almaria’s bullets and Aurion’s illusions, they never slip in their synch and functions amazingly well.

Going by standard analysis, Aurion has the less powerful Linker Core of the two. His focus is primarily on tactical offense, preferring high-power singular shots over several lower-powered ones. He also has a higher casting speed and has higher power spells when compared to her. His defenses are standard but very sturdy.

His trigger phrase is, “Attack!”

Proton Bolt: This is his basic small-scale multi-projectile spell. It involves releasing/gathering energy around him and shooting them. The individual units are controlled and move in a zigzag manner. He is shown to be capable of firing off and controlling around a thirty units of these. The power is relative to the amount of energy used. More power can be allocated to each unit if there are fewer units utilized.

Proton Bolt: Tempest Shift: This is simply Aurion’s Proton Bolt attack where he summons around a hundred units and almost instantly launches them against an enemy. Sonic Move: Increases the user’s speed dramatically (but only temporarily) to the point where it cannot be followed by the human eye.

Fake Silhouette: Makes a moving image of a user or another person or thing to confuse opponents.

Special Spell:

Willbreaker: A specialized depressant spell. Aurion uses this spell to impede the target’s use of cohesive thinking due to directly sending impulses to the brain that messes up the several mental functions. Direct skin contact is needed on an area near the target’s spinal column. Aurion uses his hand in touching the target’s nape for best results. No long term damage is done to brain of the target as this spell only act like a potent drug. He used this mainly in interrogating; where he would use moderate to elevated physical torture combined with this spell to easily break the wills of the interrogated.

And now, for another scenario.
The following is a scenario right after a severe terrorism and kidnapping incident. Several of the subjects were too dangerous and were eliminated accordingly. Aurion got the majority of the kills, managing to finish off even the leader.

A lanky figure can be seen slumped over a broken wall, his eyes covered by the fringes of his hair. He’s clutching a device in the form of a rifle. He was almost a statue, if not for the light heaving of his chest.

What made that bastard so different from the rest? How come his words managed to bother me this much?

His grip on his device tightens as he grits his teeth, trying to will away the maddening crazed tone from replaying in his head…

“Damare!” the quiet but clear word burst out of his mouth as he slammed his fist onto the wall behind him, creating several cracks on the worn concrete. His heaving got heavier as he tried to regain his composure.

And that’s… when I killed him… Why am I having these doubts now? Haven’t I promised myself of a never-wavering certainty? Kuso… Naze da?!

“Ungh!” Almaria gasped and clutched her chest, surprised by the sudden alien pain that didn’t come from her. Aurion…

“Onee-chan?” the three kids in front of her simultaneously exclaimed with worry.

“Ah… I-I’m fine…” She forced out a gentle smile. But later looked over worriedly over her shoulder, her dearest friend in her mind…

‘Aurion… Do you need to talk?’

‘You finish the ending procedures first, please… I’m okay… I just need a break… That last fight took a lot more than necessary out of me…’

‘U-understood…’

‘By the way, sorry about that. I’ll try to calm down a bit…’

Almaria’s expression only became more worried. ‘Please don’t worry about me. You’re talking to me after this, alright?’

‘Hai, hai… Onee-chan…’

I should have known Almaria would sense my discomfort… Aurion berated himself as he placed his knuckle on his forehead, a rueful smile playing on his lips. Making a girl worry just because of a little emo moment… Hahaha…

“Onii-chan! Onii-chan!”

“Huh?” Aurion opened his eyes, the sight of two very young kids, one girl and one boy greeting him. Sighing lightly, he smiled and faced them properly, also letting Vega form back into a necklace to wrap around his wrist. It was probably because of the similarities with him, he always found it rather comforting around kids like them… “How may I help you?”

The younger kid, the girl, only moved forward and presented him with a small bowl of fruits, “Here Onii-chan! You looked tired so we decided to bring you some snacks!”

The boy then spoke up, “Yeah! You should also take a break at a proper place instead of out here! All those cool moves must have been tiring!”

“Wha-?” as it would seem, it looks like these two were the ones who saw him fighting off the last terrorist… “Thanks… But I’m alright here.”

The girl look a bit hurt, but shook her head and once again offered the bowl, “B-but at least take some!”
“Yeah, please! She picked the fruits herself!”

“Oh…” Aurion blinked and then smiled warmly, reaching over and picking one fruit from the bowl, “Thanks… Itadakimasu.” He then took a bite out of the fruit… And it turned out to be really good. “Hmm… It’s great.” are his words as he gazed at the younger child with a smile, making her blush cutely.

The older of the two started talking enthusiastically, “Say, Onii-chan. When I grow up, I want to be an Enforcer just like you!”

“Hoh?” Aurion’s eyebrows rose with intrigue. “For what reason, may I ask?”

The kid started bouncing on his heels in excitement, “So I can do all those cool things you did a while ago!”

“Hah?”

“You know; those awesome shots and then that last large beam that you used to finish the bad guy off!” the kid was now positively giddy with enthusiasm, “I want to be able to do those too and beat up the bad guys!”

“Uh…” Aurion only gaped back in trepidation at the child… Talking about his job like it was just some sort of game… Is this what that person meant as people starting to see killing as entertainment?

“Yeah! And then that-”
“No…”
“Heh?”

Aurion silently shook his head and dropped a reprimanding hand on the head of the young boy.

“O-onii-chan?”

“That’s… not what it means to be an Enforcer like me…”

No… This isn’t what I live for…

“I didn’t enlist in this job to be able to fight and defeat bad people…”

“Then what-?”

“Do you know? I never feel happy every time I kill a person, no matter how bad they are; no matter how much I dislike them…”

I knew this the very moment I enlisted into TSAB…

“Ah-?”

“No matter what reason, no matter what people from opposing sides feel, it all comes down to the fact that we are hurting and killing each other… Tell me, do you honestly think that you will be happy if you just mindlessly kill people your commanders and rules brand as bad?”

Killing isn’t my desire… It is only my duty…

“O-ore…”

“Besides, it is not our primary duty to fight. It is to stop things like this from happening… But that also isn’t the reason why I stick to this job…”

My reason is…

“So… Onii-chan… Why are you an Enforcer then? Why are you still one when you’re not happy about it?”

“I’m glad you asked…” Aurion replies as he reaches over and pats the girl’s head as well, “What makes me happy… Is the fact that I know I am able to protect those that are important to me. As well as protecting the people who shouldn’t be harmed by the activities of people like them…” he turns back to the boy, “Instead of trying to be a hero and accomplishing nothing except being guilty for your actions… Why not just become someone that can make other people happy and not harm them?”

This.

The two kids only stared back in awe at him’ clearly thinking about what he just said.

“Well… Do you understand me?”

The boy looked shameful for several moments before perking up and smiling again, “Yes! But I’m still going to be an Enforcer like you!”

“Huh?”

“But… I’ll become one so I can protect my sister, my family and those that need to be protected! That way, everybody can be happy, right?”
“Niichan…”
“I promise that, my sister!”
“Ah, hai!”

Aurion couldn’t help but chuckle in relief and ruffle the two kids’ hair, “That’s better…”

“Aurion! The procedures have been finished!” Almaria’s voice chimed out over the other side of the wall, “The commander is also calling for us now!”

“Ahh. Understood!” Aurion called back. Turning back to the two kids, “Well, I have to go now. Remember what I said, okay?”

“Hai!”

“Thanks…” Aurion picks up another fruit, “Mind if I take another one?”

The girl blushes again and shakes her head, “No! They’re all for you, anyway…”

“Just two is enough. Give the rest to those who needs it.”

“Hai.”

Standing up, Aurion started walking towards Almaria’s location while accompanied by the two kids, eating along the way.

Just as Aurion and the two kids rounded the last corner, Almaria’s distraught tone resounded clearly in the air, “I-iya~! W-what are you doing?!”

“Heh?” Aurion looks with confusion at the direction of the cry of surprise, only to hold back a sudden impulse of laughter at his girlfriend’s current predicament.

The children had obviously gained a liking to Almaria, and clearly didn’t want her to leave just yet. Each of her arms was held by a pair of hands from two of the other three children they saved. The shortest kid had latched himself to her legs, hugging her around the knees; essentially pinning her legs together and holding her down on the spot. She was already blushing slightly as she tried to gently detach the children from her body. However, she wasn’t faring very well and had no choice but to try not losing balance.

“C’mon, Onee-chan! Just play with us a little longer!”

“Ah… But I already have to leave. I’ll just-Oo-ooh! Hanashite~!”

“Iyada! Stay here longer!”

“Aurion, tasukete~!”

Instead of trying to help, Aurion simply planted his face on his palm and snickered, much to Almaria’s indignation.

‘Aurion!’

‘Hey, you got yourself into this, you get yourself out.’

‘Uu~! But they might-’

Aurion cut her off in mid-thought, ‘Can’t say no to kids, Onee-chan?’

She gave him a glare as her face grew redder, ‘Why do you always have to be mean to me?!’

‘I’m just being honest, Almaria.’

‘Mou~!’ she then started to loose her balance. “A-ahn~!” and fell down on her rear as even more children, including the boy Aurion talked to earlier, latched themselves unto her helpless form. “Uu~! Mou, yamete~!” she whined endearingly as she squirmed weakly against her little captors’ hugging restraints.

“IYADA!”

Aurion chuckled some more before glancing down while smiling at his device in portable form, “Everything recorded, Vega?”

[Yes... Though why are you making me record this irrelevant scene?]

“Just for entertainment’s sake.” is his only reply as he idly spun the V-shaped pendant between his fingers. “Well, I guess this should do…” he then raises his voice, “Oi, kids! That’s enough!”

After some considerable coaxing, the children reluctantly released their unlikely ‘hostage’, who promptly threw herself into Aurion’s arms in relief. After some more goodbyes, Aurion and Almaria flew off towards the rendezvous point.

After gaining some distance from the place, Almaria turned to her boyfriend flying beside her, “You no longer seemed to be troubled as much, Aurion…”

“Yeah. Thanks to those kids…”

“There are a lot of good children there, don’t you think?”

“Hmm…” Aurion nods, later shooting Almaria an amused glance, “Pretty good at clinging to a certain girl as well.”

“Mou!”

“Hey, it just goes to prove how easily you can get popular with us guys, regardless of age or location.”

“But I never asked for that to happen!”

“Oh, you don’t need to ask. I suppose it’s just an out-of-control inherent skill.”

“Uu~, hidoi~!”

“In what way is complementing you about your obvious attractiveness being mean?”

“I am NOT some sort of male-magnet!”

“Hahaha! Whatever, princess. We’re going to have such a good laugh when we get back!”

“Hey! I know you took a video of me a while ago! Delete that!”

“Heeh~? Why? You looked so cute struggling while you were being accosted by those kids.”

“Aurion, erase it now! Please?”

“No go…” Aurion then proceeds to speed up his flight.

“Aurion!” Almaria gives chase, though not having much luck due to his higher flight maneuverability. She would later give up and fly forward with puffed cheeks, with the intention of beating him to the base.

Aurion only stares ahead at his in a huff girlfriend while chuckling. A few moments later, the previous scenarios today would replay in his mind.

Aurion, slightly lagging behind the high speed flight, contemplated the recent events in his mind. I’m… not going to be like you… Aurion glances at Almaria’s lithe frame, which was flying a few meters ahead of him. He closes his eyes tightly as he concentrates on his sworn duty. I cherish the people and things that I must protect… This isn’t just my duty… This is my conviction! We may both be devils now… But I’m a different devil compared to you.

He once again opens his eyes, only to find Almaria’s face right in front of his. He wasn’t able to notice her slowing down and positioning directly opposed to him. “Almaria?”

“Aurion…”

“What are you-?” Aurion tried to talk but was cut short and rendered speechless by Almaria’s lips meeting his; eyes widening in surprise.

Almaria pulled back, revealing her melancholic eyes focused at him, “Daijoubu…” she said softly, just enough to let him hear her voice over the rushing air, “Don‘t let his words get to you… You are different… Because I know more than anybody else can; that we are important to you.” Her eyes shone with faith in him, “Dakara… Please stay the same… Our-…My reliable but silent partner.” She then smiled encouragingly.

Aurion could only gaze back at his girlfriend, an uncertain emotion in his eyes, “Orewa…” Aurion once again closes his eyes in deep thought.

“Aurion?” Almaria flies closer. “Are you al-Mmmphh!” it was her turn to be rendered speechless as Aurion kissed her this time. She let out a breathless gasp, her face blushing brightly as he pulled back and grinned roguishly.

“You don’t have to worry. Since I’m already sure with the matter myself…” Aurion said while still grinning. Despite these words, his heart felt lighter and more reassured. “Regardless, thank you Almaria.”

Almaria blushed prettily and nodded while smiling. “Don’t worry. I’m always here for you, just as you’re always there for me.”

A small silence formed between the two as they stared at each other; their own personal resolve strengthening with each passing moment. Aurion would break the silence a few moments later.

“Ahh. But…” Aurion’s smile grew wider, “I’m still keeping this video!” he then held out his left wrist bearing Vega; watching Almaria’s face flush darkly before speeding away laughing. And as if that wasn’t enough, “I wonder how much they would pay if I had this auctioned at the base!”

“Ah-ah… I…” Almaria stammered as she saw him zoom away. She then shakes her head furiously and glowers at quickly zipping away Aurion, speeding up her flight as well, “AURION! Come back here, you baka!”

“Hahahaha!”

The rest of the team could only shake their heads in wonder at the laughing couple who reached them later.

Yes… as long as I have them… I won’t hesitate. I’m sure about this… This is all someone like me can do. And I’ll make sure I won’t fail!

And some combination attacks!

COMBINATION ATTACKS: Aurion and Almaria’s almost absolute empathic link allowed them for a number of combination assaults as a single unit.

Dual Turbo Blitz Strike/D.T.B.S: One of their combination attacks, this one being set as the ranged attack. Almaria would initiate her trance with more than a hundred bullets of mixed Impact and Piercer Bolts using two cartridges. She would then start advancing towards the opponent. Aurion would first engage one enemy up close; letting Almaria’s shots (all of which amazingly never even graze him) cover for his lack of melee specialization. He would then either bind or incapacitate the opponent with any appropriate spell (usually using two cartridges for best effect), falling back into Almaria’s blizzard of projectiles afterwards. At this point, he would join Almaria and her shots in completely mauling down the opponent with innumerable energy projectiles, finishing the assault when Aurion Sonic Moves behind the opponent and stabs the enemy with his MEB (using up another cartridge) and shoot him/her towards Almaria. She would then shoot with her own MEB followed by a Kinetic Buster (using up her remaining cartridges), blowing back the enemy towards Aurion for him to finish off with a cartridge-boosted Break Impulse. A definitive elimination maneuver, the target is not expected to make it out alive after this.

Eye of the Storm Assault/E.S.A.: The close-ranged variation of the first combination assault. Almaria and Aurion would simultaneously engage the adversary up close with a staggering amount of controlled shots. They would rely on their agility, Aurion’s occasional illusions and the sheer volume of the shots to avoid any counterattacks the enemy might try.

Finally!
This time, I sure hope he feels different from the current one. For the scene where he talks with the two kids, just imagine Setsuna from Gundam 00 talking with Gimmy and Darry from Gurren Lagann. Vega is based off Zeta Gundam's beam rifle.

And though unintentionally, I managed to put in even more rabu-rabu and some fanservice as well.

Cool to see the differences between young Aurion and old, and very nice and sweet scenes with Aurion/Almaria there, especially with the latter easing the former on his problems from the previous battle, though that scene with the children could be taken out of context on audio alone...

Nothing that earth is likely to build in the next hundred years is likely to be of ANY use is shooting down even low end sci-fi spacecraft.

These along with other arguments shows you to be afflicted with a profound lack of sense of scale IMO.

I've already covered how unlikely even this time table is, but it's moot as the entire idea of a time alternating feild is bunk.

Then we're talking at least 500 meters, up to 800 is still classed as a "cruiser" Volume, what determines mass, easier much faster then length though and so by the time you got up to the larger end of that you'd be looking at possible dozens of times the internal areas of a modern super carrier.


Yes because clearly they wouldn't hold orbit and await a relief ship from their vast space navy that might well at best be a few days away... They also clealy wouldn't send a distress signal, beam down to some abandoned inland and then leave the ship in orbit or even set it on an automated course into deep space, no clearly they'd just crash land it on the planet full of savage natives.

More fucking hax, 90% magical=INSTANT fail magic is rare end of fucking story this fails as well.

mages can't be mass produced they can be trained, but not produced and not many people seem to have what it takes, end of story.

Yeah I mean all you did was shot down one of their ships, and threaten their capital I'm sure they'd be perfectly willing to abide by a treaty with a tiny spec that had the gale to threaten them.

They're dead within a week as the TSAB rallys perhaps 5% of it's navy and crushes them like bugs on a windsheild.


Which makes no sense then, if it was so close not only would it have been explored before, but large numbers of naval units would have been nearby to one recuse the first ship and two mass a signficant fleet and destroy them the second time. Being close works both ways, it puts you closer to importatnt assets, but it puts you closer to his forces as well, and if his forces are vastly larger then your that works rather badly in his favor.

The time field or barrier is as said repeatedly bullshit and Belka was probably never an actual planet.

Like it probably being impossible and also those barrier being vulnerable to simply being blasted down, the TSAB could simply park above it and bombard down the sheild.

More likely the TSAB says give us back the tech and join our goverment or we start bombing in 5 minutes. They have no reason to tolrate a bunch of militant assholes in their own backyard.

Yes it is becasue those weapons would never hit anything.


This entire idea is retarded a single planet doesn’t dictate terms to an interstellar empire that isn’t how it works, and it sure as hell doesn’t threaten said empire and expect to live!

You have some pissant backwater effectively standing off the TSAB, that’s ludicrous Hax, yes you can have hax on a cultural level too. The TSAB is an empire controlling probably hundred of planets. The best they could hope for would be to make an invasion not worth the effort and sign some kind of treaty to allow them to exist vaguely autonomously, any attempt to acutally a threaten or fight a state hundreds of times their size is going to result in an ass raping that makes what the US navy did to Iran in the late 80s look like a pitched battle. The lesson here is simple: don't fuck with superpowers. They certainly won't be allowed to keep the ships though and any insistence that they do so makes the TSAB shrug and destroy them. A planet like this could ONLY exist in some far off area not worth the effort of invading and living with the Sword of Damocles hanging over it at all times, one misstep that makes it to big an annoyance and the TSAB crushes it.

It all boils down to this: SINGLE PLANETS DON'T FIGHT OFF ENTIRE EMPIRES.

The best they can do is hope to be ignored.

Koji walked to them wearing the armor for this ceremony, which consisted mostly of padded leather and metal plates. [Something like THIS ]
When he stopped next to Carim, she spoke, "I would like to thank you all for being here in this day, where Squire Koji will take the trial to become a Knight."
The audience applauded, and Koji looked at them, finding Yui and Maren among the crowd.
Yui noticed his look and smiled, then Koji looked at Maren, she hesitated a bit but smiled as well, Koji found that odd.

When the audience stopped applauding, Carim spoke again, "You may ask yourselves 'What is a Knight?'"
Carim paused and then continued, "It isn't just someone who is strong, but someone who has the wisdom and skill to overcome any obstacle and only uses his power to protect those in need."
"This final trial, the Knight's Ordeal, is where those who want to become Knights learn to master themselves." Carim explained.
"With this said, it is time to take Squire Koji to the place where he shall take the trial." Carim turned to Koji, and he nodded.

Carim then turned to the audience and said, "While Squire Koji is taking the trial, feel free to leave the chapel and take a walk in the courtyard."
"Squire Koji, this way please..." she said before starting to walk, Koji and Sister Schach followed her.

Stopping, Koji looked at her.

Koji smiled confidently, nodded and continued to follow Carim.

"Knight Carim, if I may ask, what will I be facing?" Koji asked as he looked at her back.

"You see, the place where the Knight's Ordeal is taken has a spell on it." Schach replied for Carim.
"A spell?" As he said that they entered a hallway and continued walking.

"Well, a spell isn't the right word, but that's the best way we can describe it...it's like it's alive." Carim explained.
"Alive?" Koji wasn't expecting such remark.
"You'll understand once you enter it." She looked back at him and smiled.
"O-okay..." He nodded.

Reaching a door, Schach opened it and they entered a large room filled with weapons.
"W-whoa...." Koji was amazed at the amount of weapons that were displayed.
"Choose whichever weapon you'd like." Carim told him.

Koji nodded and walked to them, "Are these...devices?" He asked as he turned to her.
Carim shook her head, "They are normal weapons, forged and reinforced with magic, made for this trial."
"I see..." He looked again at the weapons.

There was much to choose from, there were daggers, axes, poles, rapiers, halberds, long swords and great swords, and many more other types of weapons.
Koji expression saddened, "I feel sorry for them..." He said.
"Eh?" Carim and Schach blinked.
"They're all here, alone, with no one using them." He continued.
Carim giggled, "Koji-san, you're a really nice person, you know?"
"I'm sorry, I'm saying wierd things..." He turned to them.

Carim shook her head, "Not at all, but...this is what I think..." She paused as she brought her hands to her chest.
"I believe that they are patiently waiting for their masters, the ones who will wield them and pass the trial with their help." She smiled warmly.
Schach nodded at her comment, "I believe the same."
"Also, the blacksmith that forged these weapons poured his soul and passion into each one of them, they will not fail their master." Carim added,
"Waiting for their masters..." He repeated, then smiled. "Yes." He nodded and turned to the weapons, examining them.

As he looked at them, he saw something shine, "Eh? What's that?" He blinked.
Moving the other weapons out of the way, he uncovered a sword an amethyst embedded into the crossguard.
"This one!" He turned to them holding it.
"Oh, a bastard sword...a fitting choice for you." Carim smiled. "Go on, unsheathe it"

As Koji did so, he noticed that something was engraved on the flat side of it, "Schritt?" He blinked.
Carim nodded, "It means 'step', it may either mean this step you are taking towards becoming a knight or may have a deeper meaning." She smiled.
"I see..." He raised the sword above his head and looked at it shine with the room's lighting. "yoroshiku, Schritt."
"Well then, shall we continue?" Carim asked.
"Yes." He nodded and sheathed Schritt, attaching the scabbard to his belt.

Carim and Schach led him to a small room with a stone door with a sort of pedestal at the right of it.
They walked to the pedestal and Koji saw an imprint of a hand on it.
"Place your right hand on the pedestal." Carim said as she turned to it.
"But..." Koji hesitated because the hand engraved on it was slender like a female hand.
"Don't worry, just do it." She smiled.

Koji nodded and did as she asked.
The moment Koji place his hand on it, a pair of crimson eyes opened elsewhere as if awakening from its slumber...
The pedestal glowed softly and to Koji's surprise, his hand fit perfectly.
"The imprint changed..." Koji said as the glow faded away.

The door opened and Koji looked at what was inside, at first it was dark, but soon enough torches lit up the way.
The tunnel was neatly build in stone, it didn't resemble a cave as Colt had told him...

Carim gently stepped back, "This is as far as I go, from here you go on your own."
Koji nodded and prepared to enter.
"Oh, one more thing..." Carim said.
"Yes?" Koji turned and saw Carim next to him, "Eh?"

Carim leaned forward and kissed Koji on the cheek, "Good luck." She smiled.
"C-Carim-san?" Koji blushed.
"Don't worry, this is a custom done before the trial." She giggled.
"I-I see..." He tittered.
"Sister Schach will head back to the chapel, I will be waiting on the other side."
"Okay..." Koji replied and prepared to walk through when...
"Koji-san..." Carim called him.
"Yes?"
"Remember that once you enter, you can only go forward, no matter which way you head to..."
"O-okay..." He nodded and went through the door.

Carim waved at him, then the door closed.
"I'm on my own now..." He said and kept walking.

As he walked, he raised an eye brow, "'no matter which way'? As far as I can see, this tunnel only goes forward, how...eh!"
When Koji looked behind him, there was no longer a door there, or even an end. "W-what?" Koji was still taken aback.
"Is this what Carim-san meant by 'alive'? Anywa- wah???" When he looked forward he saw that there were now several tunnels to choose from.
"What the?" He looked at the tunnels, (Which one...which one should I take?)

Koji has 7 tunnels in front of him, he walked to each one of them and looked at the end, they all seemingly continued forward with no end in sight.
(They all look alike...but if there are choices, that means each one of them takes me to some place, to some kind of challenge.) He pondered.

"This one!" He said as he pointed at the second one from the right, but then it dissappeared, becoming a wall, "EH?"
"Then...that one!" He turned to the middle one, and disappeared as well, "Hmmm...."
Without even shouting, he ran towards the leftmost path, but it closed as well and he smashed into it.
"Ittetetetette~" Taking a couple steps back, he winced as he brought a hand to his face.

"Well, it's not an illusion, and if it is, it's a pretty solid one..." He knocked at the wall he smashed into.
He turned to the other paths and said, "Let's see what...huh?" He then noticed that the second closest path had a symbol carved on the floor.
(Hmm...this is the Belkan cross, so this must be the right path...) He looked at it, and nothing happened, Koji nodded and started walking.

Meanwhile...
In a darkened room, the owner of those crimson eyes raised its head and smirked, "This one is amusing." and giggled softly.

Location: “Lulu” & Shirley’s Apartment, Residential District, Mid-Childia
Time: 1030 MST

As Arcas slowly gained consciousness, shaking off the drowsiness of sleep, he became aware of one fact: that this was NOT the Delphinus, by any stretch of the imagination. He spent a few moments puzzling over where he was, then remembered.

That’s right – after Mel and I were done at Zero’s last night, we followed Lulu and Shirley back to their apartment for the night. He took a moment to look over at the chair were Lulu had decided to sleep – the two men had had… reservations about sharing the same bed, so they’d decided to rock-paper-scissors for who got the bed. That was until Shirley had bonked her boyfriend over the head, saying that Arcas was their guest, and that they needed to show hospitality.

As Arcas focused on the chair, he found that Lulu no longer occupied it. The Dragonslayer found himself wondering where he had gone, until he felt movement behind him.

Ah, now it all makes sense… whatever reservations he may have had about sharing beds with a guy were voided when he tried to sleep in that chair.

Unfortunately, Arcas was VERY wrong. As he turned to face the other waking person, he discovered just how wrong he was.

His bedmate wasn’t Shirley’s boyfriend.

It was HIS girlfriend.

And she wasn’t wearing much clothing, from what he could see.

Mel was currently resting on her forelegs, yawning, and leaning forward slightly.

The Dragonslayer felt his face begin to heat up at the show his girl was giving him, and though he tried to look away, couldn’t force his gaze away from Mel’s… assets.

Now properly awake, Mel noticed precisely where her boyfriend was staring. A sexy, sultry smile crossed her face, and she couldn’t help but tease him.

“Like what you see?”

“Huh?” Arcas responded.

“Would you like to see MORE?” she asked, fingering the buttons of Arcas’ shirt.

“Well – I – uh – um – well – I – that is –”

That was when Arcas heard footsteps behind him, and swiveled his head. Mel looked around him at the new arrival: Shirley. Shirley took one look at the scene, smiled knowingly, and said:

“Looks like I interrupted you in the middle of something. But don’t mind me! Carry on! I’m just going to make breakfast!”

“Shirley, wait! This isn’t what you think it i–” Arcas was cut off by Mel, who threw her arms around him, and clamped down on his neck, morphing his statement of denial into a brain-melting moan of pleasure. Shirley merely smiled, and waved to Mel, who waved back as she continued to suck on her boyfriend’s neck. Arcas tried to resist – he really did, but as Mel’s ministrations continued, he felt the fight go out of him, and simply melted into his beloved’s embrace.

When she was done, Mel released him, and Arcas slowly began to regain his mental capabilities. The young lovers embraced, and Mel rested her head on the Dragonslayer’s shoulder. The Lady Saint giggled softly, and Arcas looked down.

“What is it?”

“Oh, it’s nothing.”

“Noo, it’s not. Tell me what it is.”

“Do you insist, good sir knight?”

“I do, milady.”

“Very well, then.”

Mel hauled herself up so she could speak directly into Arcas’ ear.

“O-ha-yo…”

Arcas recognized the tone.

She’s done this every morning since that night on Earth… “O-ha-yo… Ar-ca-s.”

The Dragonslayer, however, was wrong yet again.

“…a-na-ta.”

Upon hearing the highly affectionate term, Arcas responded by relieving himself of his consciousness.

Or, in simpler terms…

He fainted.


When Arcas awoke again, he found himself propped up against the back of the couch-bed, Mel snuggled up to him. The Dragonslayer looked down, and brushed a few stray wisps of hair from her eyes. The Lady Saint looked up to him.

“Hello.”

“Hi,” she responded.

Neither one sure how to continue, they lapsed back into silence, holding each other, until Mel revived the dialogue.

“Soo, what’d you think of my greeting?”

“It was, well – uhm… different.”

Mel laughed. “Oh, come ON! You practically fainted dead away in my arms!”

“I did not faint.”

“Yes, you did – and it was the CUTEST thing, just like you!”

“I am not cute.”

“Yes, you are.”

“No, I’m not – I am a man. And men are handsome, not cute.”

“Whatever, cutie. But you DID faint.”

“I did not!”

“Oh really? Then what happened?”

“I… passed out. From… manly hunger!”

“You don’t sound hungry to me…”

“Well, I am.”

The Lady Saint began to move towards the edge of the bed.

“Well then, I’ll just go get you someth–” she was interrupted by Arcas’ hand curling around the collar of his shirt, and pulling her backwards.

“Not that kind of hunger, love…” he stated before slid his arms around her and kissed her full on the lips. Mel’s eyes fluttered shut, and she wound her arms around her Dragonslayer’s neck as she responded to him.

Mel straddled Arcas’ legs as she pressed harder against his lips – kissing him was more addicting than any drug. She moaned in pleasure, her eyes rolling up into her head, as she felt his tongue slowly slip its way into her mouth. She responded in kind, moving her tongue against his, and tightening her grip on his neck. Mel felt a hand slide under the shirt she was wearing, and come to rest against the small of her back, drawing lazy lines across it. Mel broke the kiss, and rested against her boyfriend’s body, her mind flooded with bliss.

Arcas, meanwhile, continued to work his magic on his girlfriend’s back. He noticed that as he did, putting his hand under the shirt had caused it to slide up Mel’s body, exposing a pair of frilly pink panties. No longer thinking with the head on his shoulders, his other hand slid down to her panty-clad bottom, and squeezed. The Lady Saint moaned into his ear, and Arcas snapped back to reality.

“I’m sorry! I wasn’t thinking–”

“Do it again,” Mel groaned.

He was about to when they were interrupted in flagrante delicto by Shirley.

“Breakfast is ready!”


The young Phantasms now sat at the table, eating breakfast, and occasionally shooting dirty looks at Shirley.

“Did you REALLY have to interrupt us like that?”

“You guys sounded like you were making your own porn movie in there! I couldn’t even focus on eating breakfast!”

“C’mon, onee-chan. We’re adults – we know when enough is enough.”

“I don’t know… if I hadn’t butted in, Mel might have started some… biological baking, if you catch my drift.”

Both blushed, but continued to glare at Shirley. Silence hung over the room for a few moments until Arcas brought up a new subject.

“Say, Mel…”

“Yes?”

Arcas indicated the MEN’s shirt she was wearing.

“Why are you wearing my dress shirt?”

“Well, you see, after we got here…”



“Mou, onee-chan! This one doesn’t fit either!” Shirley looked at the pajama shirt Mel was currently wearing. Despite it being her biggest one, on Mel, it left little to the imagination.

“First, none of my pants fit you because you’re too short. Now none of my shirts will fit either?” Shirley sighed in frustration. “Why do you have to have such huge tits?!”

Mel looked down at the floor. “I’m sorry, onee-chan.”

Shirley exhaled, a bemused smile on her face. She embraced her childhood imouto from behind, wrapping her arms around her shoulders. “It’s okay. I can see now why guys at the Academy wouldn’t stop hitting on you. They’re rather attractive, actually – I wish I had a pair like yours.”

“Onee-chan…”

“But enough about that. We need to find you something to wear.”

“What about Lulu-kun’s stuff?”

“Nah. He and I are about the same body type – if my stuff doesn’t fit, his definitely won’t.”

“So… what do I wear? Or do I have to go…naked?”

“Relax, Mel. You won’t have to sleep naked, I promise.” Shirley scratched the side of her nose. “What about Arcas’ clothes?”


“And we found that your shirt fits Mel-chan the best – though it’s not perfect…”

Upon that statement, everyone looked to the shirt Mel was wearing – and Shirley was right. While it didn’t expose everything, Arcas could see traces of the curves of Mel’s chest, and depending on the angle, flashes of cleavage. Mel instinctively covered herself.

“Mou, stop staring…it’s embarrassing.”

After they were done with breakfast, Mel and Arcas redressed, and headed down to the Phantasmobile.

“Thanks for everything, Onee-chan.”

“It’s no problem. And here.” Shirley handed over a key. “You ever need a place to come be alone, it’s open.”


Location: Highways of Mid-Childia

As the two Phantasms drove back to Yzak Base, the ride was initially quiet.

“So, what’d you think?”

“Shirley’s a good person. Though I wish that she hadn’t walked in on us like that…”

“True. But she IS right – if she hadn’t stopped us, there’s no telling WHAT could have happened.”

“I suppose…”

“She is! And you and I need to come up with something so that I don’t end up eating for two!”

“All right, all right…”

There was another few moments worth of silence while they both pondered.

“Three pieces.”

“What?”

“Three pieces of clothes – that’ll be our standard. If either of us get under three pieces of clothing, then we stop right away.”

“And that’s supposed to stop us how?”

“What are the first three pieces of clothing that you put on in the morning?”

“Well...”

“You don’t need to say anything. Now, logic tells us that when we undress, we go in the opposite order of when you dress. I mean, you don’t take your underwear off first when you undress, right?”

“Right, ‘cause you can’t get to it. But logic doesn’t necessarily operate when you’re in the heat of the moment.”

“Not constructive logic, no. Instinctive logic does, though, and that’s the type of logic that tells us how to do things we’ve been doing forever.”

“Like getting dressed.”

“Precisely. So, can you work with that?”

“I think so.”

A pause.

“Hey.”

“Yeah?”

“Do you think… I mean… do you want to… I, uhm…”

“Do I think about having kids?”

“Yeah.”

A nod. “ I do – though probably not as much as you do.”

“That’s probably true – I do think about it a great deal since you and I happened.”

“You want kids pretty badly, then?”

“Just yours – and no one else’s.”

“You know what all that entails, right?”

“I know, and it does scare me – I won’t deny it. But,” here the speaker closed their eyes, “it’s one experience that I truly want. Feeling it grow inside me, and then giving it life…”

A chuckle. “As long as you know what you’re signing up for…”

“I do. But don’t worry – I’m in no rush – not yet.”


Location: RAF Patrol Ship Delphinus, Yzak Base, Velka SAR, Mid-Childia

The Phantasmobile pulled up in the Delphinus’ hangar, and both Arcas and Mel hopped out. Proceeding inside, they found Boomer working on the engine block.

“We’re back!” Mel announced.

“So you are,” Boomer observed.

“Where’s the Major?” Arcas asked.

“Off at Central, trying to get us back on the roster – what else?”

“Right,” Arcas replied, rolling his eyes.

“So, nothing for the day?”

“Nope, nothing, milady.”

With that, Mel scampered off.

“Where’re you going?”

“Gonna go and get lunch, then visit Division 6. You wanna come?”

“Not really. How about you, Arcas? Want to be the lady’s escort?”

“If she’ll have me.”

“Of course I will!”

Then, she disappeared. Arcas watched her go.

“Soo, you have a good time last night?”

“Knock it off, Boomer. I don’t know what perverted ideas you have in your head, but they didn’t happen.”

The sniper sighed. “Kid, if you don’t risk doing a least a few ‘perverted’ things, you’re never gonna understand women.”

Arcas whirled on him. “I’m not interested in understanding women. I’m interested in understanding ‘woman.’ As in the singular. As in JUST ONE!” The Dragonslayer sighed. “Maybe that’s why I’ve got a g–” Arcas cut himself off, realizing what he was about to say.

I gotcha now, kid…

“Got a what?”

Arcas exhaled, racking his brain for an answer. “Got a gaggle of girls interested in me, without any of your manipulative mumbo-jumbo.”

Gotta hand it to him: kid performs under pressure.

“Maybe so. But we’ll see – betcha 20 creds I get one before you do.”

“No bet – getting her’s not the end. It’s getting her and KEEPING her that’s the test. Now, if you’ll excuse me…”

And with that, Arcas left to join Mel for lunch. Boomer chuckled to himself, then stopped as a memory flashed across his awareness. He shook his head.

No. I left her a long time ago – I decided to move on with my life. This is the way things should be – the way I like them. Not gonna let some dame ruin my life.

SWEET!

Arcas and Mel's action, though, is a bit ... scary.

So, everyone, do you like it?” Hayate asked as the last contestants went to the backstage, and the audience howled in feverish support to say ‘yes’. “Now we’re done with all the contenders, and while we wait for the judges’ result, let’s give a very loud applause to the Gemini Sisters!”

In an instant the hall erupted in a deafening roar as Aura and Freya returned upstage. Fan boys changed their names in unison, intoxicated by the twin sisters’ charms. Male audience swooned when the girls winked to them, and

“How are you doing, everyone?” Aura asked through the microphone.

“WE ARE DOING FINE, AURA-CHAMA!” fan boys howled.

“Do you want more from us?” Freya continued.

“HELL YES WE DO!” male audience hooted.

The Gemini Sisters giggled. “Dewa!”

They made a pose that looked very identical to each other, and cameramen immediately turned to them, projecting their image on the huge screen behind them. When the cue started, they danced in perfect synchronization, never missing even a step, shone by colourful spotlights from above.

Freya: “Hitomi no oku, tojikometeta; seizatachi ga odoridasu no; yume no KO-RU, kono tsudzuki ni GOOD LUCK!”

The Gemini Sisters continued dancing, occasionally spinning on their toes as to show off their beauty. This act of self-service made 75 percent of boys and males to bleed their nose.

Aura: “Kizutsuku ko, osorenaide; arinomama no jibun de ii mou; daijoobu…”

They joined their singing force.

Freya: “Furueru RIZUMI…”
Aura: “Setsunai MELODY…”
Both: “kimi ga watashi no kono jikan wo… Ah~ honki ni saseru wa!”

They threw their hands upward.

Freya: “Nagareboshi ni negai kakete, kako mo mirai mo koete; itsumo kimi ni todoku you ni, shining-shining moonlight!”

Aura: “kujikesouna toki wa itsumo, kimi no koto wo omou yo; doko ni itemo hanaretetemo todoiteiru yo…”

“I don’t really mind if you’re not into party and social gathering,” Armstrong complained as Kay served the guests with fried rice and tea. “But why are you inviting us to your booth in the first place?”

Kay laughed. “What are you talking of, Armstrong? It’s just that I happened to be asked to open a food stall,” she said. “Besides, you just look damn good in this form.”

“I take that as a sarcasm-filled praise,” Armstrong sighed. “Oh, well. Not that I want to complain in the first place, especially when I have alien girls following me around like ducklings.”

Behind them, the intoxicated fan girls and female spectators were squealing like mad as they tried to get close to their adored real men. “Armstrong-sama! Arcas-sama! DAI! SU! KI!!” they hollered and melted into blobs of flesh.

“See? That’s why I’m not a partygoer,” Armstrong said.

“That isn’t a good thought, Armstrong-san,” Mel said and sipped the green tea. (Behind her, fan boys were prying upon the woman’s majestic beauty, being dressed up in expensive and luxurious silk kimono before they were sent into smithereens by a hyper Poseidon.) “Partying for once in a while isn’t a bad idea, right Arcas?”

Arcas just nodded. “To tell you the truth, actually,” he said and took another spoonful of Kay’s Special Fried Rice, “although I disapproved of what he did to Armstrong and Nanoha, I’m wondering whether it was worth the madness he had done.”

“I’d rather not talk about it, my friend,” Armstrong replied and ate the fried rice.

The entrance door was suddenly kicked. Armstrong, Arcas, Poseidon and Mel turned around to the main hall, only to see the receptionist pushed out of the building by a group of angry cosplayers. “I bet those people are mad at the organizers for not inviting them, aren’t they?” Arcas said.

“I think you better reconsider those words,” Armstrong spoke and put down the ceramic glass. “They aren’t your regular cosplayers.”

Both Arcas and Mel blinked. “Huh?”

“You think you can enjoy the party without inviting us along,” an angry Yuuno, dressed up as King Leonidas of Sparta, said and pushed the receptionist towards the fountain. “You better choose your words carefully when you’re dealing with us.”

“But we totally forgot! We’re very sorry!” the receptionist answered.

“You threaten our culture with globalization and death,” Yuuno snarled and prodded the real sword onto the frightened TSAB personnel’s neck. “You insulted my queen. You made fun of Sparta and its glory. You chose to disregard the past and proceed with the future. What kind of mentality is that?”

“Blasphemy! This is madness!” the receptionist cried.

“Madness?” Yuuno turned to his 300 Mid-Childans. The warriors, wearing nothing more than leather pants and red capes, nodded and slammed their spears onto their hoplite shields. Then Yuuno glanced at everyone else in the boulevard who nodded as well.

He turned back to the horrified TSAB personnel. “Please, Yuuno, have mercy…”

“Mercy?” Yuuno grinned. “This! IS! COSPLAY!!!!!” He kicked the receptionist into the fountain, and all the people cheered in approval. He later turned to the 300 Mid-Childans. “Mid-Childans!”

“HOWL!” they replied in unison.

“Enjoy yourself as much as you can today!” he bolstered. “Tonight, we cosplay… IN HELL!!!!”

“FOR MID-CHILDA!!!” a Mid-Childan howled.

“FOR YUUNODAS!!!!” another Mid-Childan screamed.

Yuuno lifted his fist. “FOR GLORY!!!!”

The 300 Mid-Childans marched back into the hall. Arcas and Mel gaped in disbelief before they asked Armstrong: “that’s… Yuuno, isn’t it?”

“YUUNODAS HAS RETURNED!” fan boys roared and cried hot-blooded tears of manliness.

“Yuunodas?” Arcas asked.

“It’s a long story, but to shorten it,” Armstrong spoke, “it all began when I invited him to Greece for a seminar on Spartan culture.”

“Sou…”

The Wanderer continued her journey.

Having had arrived at the headquarters two hours earlier, she chose to follow her instinct in finding her way through the main building, despite the bureau’s suggestion to send someone to escort her. It was not the case of deliberately getting lost in the vast complex, because it was what she had intended to do: spending as much time in the complex as she could.

She took the opportunity from the lengthy trip to look around her, noticing how many eyes were fixated upon the oversized anteater doll she was carrying along, and how many eyes were prying upon the attire she wore. She did not take notice of the awkward atmosphere, nor did she care of the people. She was here to look for someone, and she would do what it took to find that person.

(Earlier, on that day, she had stumbled across Amy who was equally surprised to see her presence in the TSAB. Her reaction towards Chrono’s wife was as uncanny as ever as she asked “what’s with the fake fang and long wig you’re wearing?” in which Amy’s only answer was “I thought I could go and smack Chrono on the head-nyoro.”

She batted her eyebrow upward. “Nyoro?”)

“I guess he’s really enjoying himself up to this day,” she pondered and walked down the path that lead to the hall.

“Mai?”

She stopped. She knew that voice, and she recognized the intonation of the speech (despite the awfully feminine sound). She turned around,

“What are you doing here?” It was Hikari, and standing beside her was Nanoha who was equally shocked not only at her presence but also at the same school uniform she was donning. “You could’ve given me a call, you know.”

“Hikki…” She approached the priestess. She took her hands. “It is time.”

Hikari blinked. “Right now? (Mai nodded.) But what will everyone… Nanoha think of this?”

She smiled. “Don’t worry. We’ll come up with something.” She later turned to Nanoha and bowed to her. “Please forgive my husband for all the difficulties he has created before I come here. I’m sure he didn’t really mean to displease you,” she spoke.

“N-no! I’m fine with it,” Nanoha replied.

Hikari sighed. “Oh, well. I guess this will be a parting gift from Hikari Kokurabuji.” So saying she approached Nanoha, bent forward and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek. “It’s been a pleasure to visit and know you, Nanoha-sama. Please send my regard to everyone,” she spoke in soft voice. “Thank you for everything.”

Mai handed over the anteater doll to Nanoha and approached. “Anata, I hope you have learned your lesson from this transformation,” she spoke.

Hikari, to Nanoha’s surprise, simply nodded, as if she knew the end would be coming. “Yes, Mai, I understand.”

She stopped. With her face an inch from Hikari’s, she stared into the priestess’ vibrant eyes. “Are you ready?”

“Yes, I am.”

She tipped off her feet. Slowly, she reached for Hikari’s lips and pressed her lips in a soft, passionless kiss that shocked not only Nanoha but also several female TSAB personnel who were walking in the area.

(At the same time, Koji, Yui, Maren and Treize arrived in the area only to be greeted by the romantic scene. Yui had to seize her brother’s eyes; the “kitsune miko” blushed at the thought of kissing her significant one in the public; Treize simply tilted her head in confusion.)

The kiss disengaged. Hikari started glowing in faint bluish aura, but was not surprised by the phenomenon as she signalled at Nanoha to calm down.

“Go change your dresses somewhere else, anata,” Mai said with a chuckle and poked his nose. “You don’t want people to see you with your skins exposed.”

An explosion shook the entire structure.

“What happened?” Armstrong left the stall and everybody else behind (Arcas was closely following his lead). They arrived at the explosion site, to be greeted by a scene unlike anything they had ever seen.

“Who or what the hell?” Arcas demanded.

Amidst the ruins and chaos, Armstrong could see a person walking into the scene, in all his might and right with a steel ball holstered upon his right shoulder.

He was not amused. So did Arcas.

“Jackson Armstrong!” Baron Daban bellowed. “I challenge you into a rematch!”

Anything you could suggest would be awesome. Like I said, I'm ignorant of most of the ways the Nanoverse works: it's been ages since I've seen the first or second seasons, and last time I ran through StrikerS was when yesy finished 26. I've never seen/heard about the Sound Stages till I joined here, and except for a few 4komas, I didn't realize how rabid the fanbase was .

On the other hand, I'm from the Evangelion fanbase, who's average otaku will eat your soul for so much as looking at Eva funny.

A few rewinds wouldn't hurt too much. And anything that you have in mind, but are not sure of, should be put onto the table for discussion. Admittedly, you'll find TK a bit intimidating at first, but he's actually a nice guy to talk with and one who has some interesting ideas.

Profile: A silent and brooding person. A childhood friend, and also Almaria’s boyfriend. Was recruited into TSAB four months before Almaria. He proved to be a very talented and diligent trainee, gaining favor from the infamous Instructor Austin Abrams of the Air Force due to his commendable grit and fortitude even under the harshest of trainings. He rose fairly quickly along the ranks, earning the title of an Ace at fourteen years of age. Despite his age, he was notoriously famous for his oftentimes heartless method against opponents. He first killed a person when he was 13. He got transferred into the Navy a year after Almaria, becoming Spectrum 3 of the Spectral Enforcers. This would be his last position before the Perfect Void Incident and retiring from the army.


Personality: Serious, taciturn and a bit tactless. The Aurion from seventeen years ago can be considered worlds apart from the current one. He’s generally courteous, but can be a terrible adversary when angered. His nature as a child is rather dubious, only having a very small social circle. He finds it difficult to trust other people, initially only trusting Almaria. He prefers the company of higher-ranked and generally older people, having a large amount of respect for several of them. His peers were rather wary of him, and his attitude did little to help quell the cautious regards. Regardless, he was clear-headed and has a soft spot for kids. He generally talks with others in a polite but emotionless tone. He had a lot of interest in Device-mechanics, and took his free time as an occasional assistant to the researcher and Device-manufacturer, Reban Innova.

On a more positive note, he has somewhat lightened up through the years, thanks to the influence of other members of the Spectral Enforcers; although his abilities of sarcasm has also grown. As a soldier, he is considered to be a workaholic. To further this point, he also had a bad habit of pushing himself too much when work is involved. He's also very frugal about mundane tasks. His things are usually kept orderly. He can cook if need be, but he never bothers in making the dishes attractive. He has a bit of a soft spot for children, especially orphans such as himself. He also gets rather embarrassed when subjected to doting by elderly people.

His moral code was very utilitarian, as he had no qualms about killing a few to save several others. Almaria was very worried of this fact, remembering that Aurion was quite disturbed after his first time in killing a person. This is also the reason why he got the moniker, "Ace of the Heartless." He got his other nickname, "Hell's Inquisitor"; from the fact that he uses Willbreaker coupled with moderate to extreme physical torture when interrogating captured opponents. His main reasoning for being such is protecting those who are important to him and preventing more children like him in following the same fate.

I'm already a killer... But it doesn't matter. As long as those kids I know never end up like me. If I have to throw away my conscience in dealing with threats, so be it! Better me than them! Even if I've already become a demon, at least I'm sure I'm still able to protect what are important to me.

The only person whom Aurion seems to be completely relaxed around is Almaria. Even to the extent of taking an almost 180 degree turn in disposition. This includes actually being laid back and smiling constantly; as well as teasing her. Even when around other people, he never bothers to hide this change. Likewise, he was the only person the normally mature and professional Almaria acted completely relaxed and 'cute' with; most notably being comfortable in physical contact with him. They also like sparring with each other, with the score 35-32 in Aurion's favor.



Relationships: Needless to say, Aurion was an antisocial and cold individual to strangers. Even towards acquaintances, he rarely ever talks with them with complete sincerity, save for Almaria and some other people he respects. Gil Graham, Austin Abrams and the researcher named Reban Innova are some of the few people he holds complete respect for. The person he is closest to is without a doubt, Almaria. The reason for this stems back to when he was four... Almaria was the only person who bothered trying to talk and make friends with him, reasoning that they had the same birthday so they should at least get along well. Curiously, there was something more to their closeness than just being long-time acquaintances... A strange link that was forged between them ever since that day; allowing them a limited but accurate mutual perception. The reason behind this remains a mystery up to this day.

With that aside, his first ever, and only childhood friend was Almaria. She acted like a big sister to him, sometimes getting a reversal of roles in some circumstances. They complemented each other very well, one being stiff and emotionless while the other was bright and cheerful. As they grew up, their relationship only got stronger; culminating into being an item after one year of separation in service of TSAB.

They were really an almost perfect pair; both as people and as combatants. They worked practically flawlessly when in tandem, even at one time defeating two more-experienced S-ranked opponents despite the difference in rank, power and skill. Their abilities in combat as a pair was unbelievably good, one being a tactical and systematic aggressor and the other being a graceful range-attacker; both functioning as a single harmonized entity; almost as if having the same mind. Their lack of any melee specialization almost meant nothing when one sees them, as they support each other so well that they seemed to have a counter for just about anything, even covering flaws that both of them shared. In fact, they just worked TOO well as a team that it was almost inhuman. This was quite an oddity by those times; seeing as they seemed to be connected so well to the extent that they can actually feel each other’s presence when they are in similar locations… Some tests were run on the two, yet nothing out of the ordinary was found.

Unlike other people who've just become lovers, there's hardly any sense of shyness between them. There were also a very deep level of trust and respect for each other, assuring that they never let their adolescent impulses from taking their intimacy too far; promising each other that they will both wait until they are both old and mature enough to commit to each other. The leader of the Spectral Enforcers once made a comment that, "Che. They've just become an item. But from what I can see, their bond and understanding of each other is far, far better than most of the married couples I've seen."

He also held a lot of respect for the researcher, Reban Innova; who was responsible for bringing him and Almaria into TSAB service in the first place. He and Almaria both seem to feel a strangely calming aura around the elderly man. This person is also the one responsible for creating Aurion and Almaria’s custom devices, namely Vega and Altair. He would later also consider the Spectral Enforcers as the family he never had.



Barrier Jacket: Aurion’s Barrier Jacket was very similar to the standard Enforcer BJ design. The only noticeable difference was the darker color scheme with sharper details and a lighter frame. The performance of his requested design was significantly better than those of standard ones, allowing for good agility and defense at the same time.

One of the two specialized experimental devices made by the researcher Reban Innova; the other being Almaria's Altair. It takes the form of light energy rifle outfitted with the then uncommonly used cartridge system, housing up to four cartridges at a time. It had design specifics that were only known to Reban. The A.I. has a young and serious female voice. Regarding its other specs, it has a high amount of targeting and control-amplification capability. Reban claimed that Altair and Vega would only work in their best potential when used by Almaria and Aurion; and this turned out to be true. Its portable mode takes the form of a V-shaped pendant attached to a chain necklace. Aurion carries it around by having it wrapped around his left wrist instead of his neck. This is for almost instant access to it whenever it is needed; enabling him to whip out the rifle-device with just a flick of the wrist.


Fighting Style: Despite having very decent magic potential and combat skills, Aurion preferred to fight tactically even on the frontlines. He liked using combinations of illusion and temperature manipulation spells, essentially confusing the opponent and holding them in place with simple but effective ice spells/binds to be easily hit by finishing blows. His defenses were solid, and his speed was pretty decent. His attack capabilities were more suited for single-hit technical blows rather than battery attacks. He had particularly excellent control over few high-powered remote shot spells; being able to control them even at semi-sniping range. When close quarters combat is unavoidable, he usually surrounds himself with some Stinger Blades and uses the MEB (Magic Energy Bayonet) on Vega in order to gain distance. Given the right position, he is capable of bringing down much tougher opponents by using opportune openings and observed weaknesses to strike.

His performance becomes several times more impressive when paired with Almaria. The two of them seems to share a strange connection that allows them to work together like a single entity. The extent of their compatibility is so great that when teamed up, they can take on enemies that exceed their overall prowess. Despite the number of Almaria’s bullets and Aurion’s illusions, they never slip in their synch and functions amazingly well.

Going by standard analysis, Aurion has the less powerful Linker Core of the two. His focus is primarily on tactical offense, preferring high-power singular shots over several lower-powered ones. He also has a higher casting speed and has higher power spells when compared to her. His defenses are standard but very sturdy.

His trigger phrase is, “Attack!”

Special Spell:

Willbreaker: A specialized depressant spell. Aurion uses this spell to impede the target’s use of cohesive thinking due to directly sending impulses to the brain that messes up the several mental functions. Direct skin contact is needed on an area near the target’s spinal column. Aurion uses his hand in touching the target’s nape for best results. No long term damage is done to brain of the target as this spell only act like a potent drug. He used this mainly in interrogating; where he would use moderate to elevated physical torture combined with this spell to easily break the wills of the interrogated.

And now, for another scenario.
The following is a scenario right after a severe terrorism and kidnapping incident. Several of the subjects were too dangerous and were eliminated accordingly. Aurion got the majority of the kills, managing to finish off even the leader.

‘Aurion… Do you need to talk?’

‘You finish the ending procedures first, please… I’m okay… I just need a break… That last fight took a lot more than necessary out of me…’

‘U-understood…’

‘By the way, sorry about that. I’ll try to calm down a bit…’

Almaria’s expression only became more worried. ‘Please don’t worry about me. You’re talking to me after this, alright?’

‘Hai, hai… Onee-chan…’

I should have known Almaria would sense my discomfort… Aurion berated himself as he placed his knuckle on his forehead, a rueful smile playing on his lips. Making a girl worry just because of a little emo moment… Hahaha…

“Onii-chan! Onii-chan!”

“Huh?” Aurion opened his eyes, the sight of two very young kids, one girl and one boy greeting him. Sighing lightly, he smiled and faced them properly, also letting Vega form back into a necklace to wrap around his wrist. It was probably because of the similarities with him, he always found it rather comforting around kids like them… “How may I help you?”

The younger kid, the girl, only moved forward and presented him with a small bowl of fruits, “Here Onii-chan! You looked tired so we decided to bring you some snacks!”

The boy then spoke up, “Yeah! You should also take a break at a proper place instead of out here! All those cool moves must have been tiring!”

“Wha-?” as it would seem, it looks like these two were the ones who saw him fighting off the last terrorist… “Thanks… But I’m alright here.”

The girl look a bit hurt, but shook her head and once again offered the bowl, “B-but at least take some!”
“Yeah, please! She picked the fruits herself!”

“Oh…” Aurion blinked and then smiled warmly, reaching over and picking one fruit from the bowl, “Thanks… Itadakimasu.” He then took a bite out of the fruit… And it turned out to be really good. “Hmm… It’s great.” are his words as he gazed at the younger child with a smile, making her blush cutely.

The older of the two started talking enthusiastically, “Say, Onii-chan. When I grow up, I want to be an Enforcer just like you!”

“Hoh?” Aurion’s eyebrows rose with intrigue. “For what reason, may I ask?”

The kid started bouncing on his heels in excitement, “So I can do all those cool things you did a while ago!”

“Hah?”

“You know; those awesome shots and then that last large beam that you used to finish the bad guy off!” the kid was now positively giddy with enthusiasm, “I want to be able to do those too and beat up the bad guys!”

“Uh…” Aurion only gaped back in trepidation at the child… Talking about his job like it was just some sort of game… Is this what that person meant as people starting to see killing as entertainment?

“Yeah! And then that-”
“No…”
“Heh?”

Aurion silently shook his head and dropped a reprimanding hand on the head of the young boy.

“O-onii-chan?”

“That’s… not what it means to be an Enforcer like me…”

No… This isn’t what I live for…

“I didn’t enlist in this job to be able to fight and defeat bad people…”

“Then what-?”

“Do you know? I never feel happy every time I kill a person, no matter how bad they are; no matter how much I dislike them…”

I knew this the very moment I enlisted into TSAB…

“Ah-?”

“No matter what reason, no matter what people from opposing sides feel, it all comes down to the fact that we are hurting and killing each other… Tell me, do you honestly think that you will be happy if you just mindlessly kill people your commanders and rules brand as bad?”

Killing isn’t my desire… It is only my duty…

“O-ore…”

“Besides, it is not our primary duty to fight. It is to stop things like this from happening… But that also isn’t the reason why I stick to this job…”

My reason is…

“So… Onii-chan… Why are you an Enforcer then? Why are you still one when you’re not happy about it?”

“I’m glad you asked…” Aurion replies as he reaches over and pats the girl’s head as well, “What makes me happy… Is the fact that I know I am able to protect those that are important to me. As well as protecting the people who shouldn’t be harmed by the activities of people like them…” he turns back to the boy, “Instead of trying to be a hero and accomplishing nothing except being guilty for your actions… Why not just become someone that can make other people happy and not harm them?”

The two kids only stared back in awe at him’ clearly thinking about what he just said.

“Well… Do you understand me?”

The boy looked shameful for several moments before perking up and smiling again, “Yes! But I’m still going to be an Enforcer like you!”

“Huh?”

“But… I’ll become one so I can protect my sister, my family and those that need to be protected! That way, everybody can be happy, right?”
“Niichan…”
“I promise that, my sister!”
“Ah, hai!”

Aurion couldn’t help but chuckle in relief and ruffle the two kids’ hair, “That’s better…”

“Aurion! The procedures have been finished!” Almaria’s voice chimed out over the other side of the wall, “The commander is also calling for us now!”

“Ahh. Understood!” Aurion called back. Turning back to the two kids, “Well, I have to go now. Remember what I said, okay?”

“Hai!”

“Thanks…” Aurion picks up another fruit, “Mind if I take another one?”

The girl blushes again and shakes her head, “No! They’re all for you, anyway…”

“Just two is enough. Give the rest to those who needs it.”

“Hai.”

Standing up, Aurion started walking towards Almaria’s location while accompanied by the two kids, eating along the way.

Just as Aurion and the two kids rounded the last corner, Almaria’s distraught tone resounded clearly in the air, “I-iya~! W-what are you doing?!”

“Heh?” Aurion looks with confusion at the direction of the cry of surprise, only to hold back a sudden impulse of laughter at his girlfriend’s current predicament.

The children had obviously gained a liking to Almaria, and clearly didn’t want her to leave just yet. Each of her arms was held by a pair of hands from two of the other three children they saved. The shortest kid had latched himself to her legs, hugging her around the knees; essentially pinning her legs together and holding her down on the spot. She was already blushing slightly as she tried to gently detach the children from her body. However, she wasn’t faring very well and had no choice but to try not losing balance.

“C’mon, Onee-chan! Just play with us a little longer!”

“Ah… But I already have to leave. I’ll just-Oo-ooh! Hanashite~!”

“Iyada! Stay here longer!”

“Aurion, tasukete~!”

Instead of trying to help, Aurion simply planted his face on his palm and snickered, much to Almaria’s indignation.

‘Aurion!’

‘Hey, you got yourself into this, you get yourself out.’

‘Uu~! But they might-’

Aurion cut her off in mid-thought, ‘Can’t say no to kids, Onee-chan?’

She gave him a glare as her face grew redder, ‘Why do you always have to be mean to me?!’

‘I’m just being honest, Almaria.’

‘Mou~!’ she then started to loose her balance. “A-ahn~!” and fell down on her rear as even more children, including the boy Aurion talked to earlier, latched themselves unto her helpless form. “Uu~! Mou, yamete~!” she whined endearingly as she squirmed weakly against her little captors’ hugging restraints.

“IYADA!”

Aurion chuckled some more before glancing down while smiling at his device in portable form, “Everything recorded, Vega?”

[Yes... Though why are you making me record this irrelevant scene?]

“Just for entertainment’s sake.” is his only reply as he idly spun the V-shaped pendant between his fingers. “Well, I guess this should do…” he then raises his voice, “Oi, kids! That’s enough!”

After some considerable coaxing, the children reluctantly released their unlikely ‘hostage’, who promptly threw herself into Aurion’s arms in relief. After some more goodbyes, Aurion and Almaria flew off towards the rendezvous point.

After gaining some distance from the place, Almaria turned to her boyfriend flying beside her, “You no longer seemed to be troubled as much, Aurion…”

“Yeah. Thanks to those kids…”

“There are a lot of good children there, don’t you think?”

“Hmm…” Aurion nods, later shooting Almaria an amused glance, “Pretty good at clinging to a certain girl as well.”

“Mou!”

“Hey, it just goes to prove how easily you can get popular with us guys, regardless of age or location.”

“But I never asked for that to happen!”

“Oh, you don’t need to ask. I suppose it’s just an out-of-control inherent skill.”

“Uu~, hidoi~!”

“In what way is complementing you about your obvious attractiveness being mean?”

“I am NOT some sort of male-magnet!”

“Hahaha! Whatever, princess. We’re going to have such a good laugh when we get back!”

“Hey! I know you took a video of me a while ago! Delete that!”

“Heeh~? Why? You looked so cute struggling while you were being accosted by those kids.”

“Aurion, erase it now! Please?”

“No go…” Aurion then proceeds to speed up his flight.

“Aurion!” Almaria gives chase, though not having much luck due to his higher flight maneuverability. She would later give up and fly forward with puffed cheeks, with the intention of beating him to the base.

Aurion only stares ahead at his in a huff girlfriend while chuckling. A few moments later, the previous scenarios today would replay in his mind.

Aurion, slightly lagging behind the high speed flight, contemplated the recent events in his mind. I’m… not going to be like you… Aurion glances at Almaria’s lithe frame, which was flying a few meters ahead of him. He closes his eyes tightly as he concentrates on his sworn duty. I cherish the people and things that I must protect… This isn’t just my duty… This is my conviction! We may both be devils now… But I’m a different devil compared to you.

He once again opens his eyes, only to find Almaria’s face right in front of his. He wasn’t able to notice her slowing down and positioning directly opposed to him. “Almaria?”

“Aurion…”

“What are you-?” Aurion tried to talk but was cut short and rendered speechless by Almaria’s lips meeting his; eyes widening in surprise.

Almaria pulled back, revealing her melancholic eyes focused at him, “Daijoubu…” she said softly, just enough to let him hear her voice over the rushing air, “Don‘t let his words get to you… You are different… Because I know more than anybody else can; that we are important to you.” Her eyes shone with faith in him, “Dakara… Please stay the same… Our-…My reliable but silent partner.” She then smiled encouragingly.

Aurion could only gaze back at his girlfriend, an uncertain emotion in his eyes, “Orewa…” Aurion once again closes his eyes in deep thought.

“Aurion?” Almaria flies closer. “Are you al-Mmmphh!” it was her turn to be rendered speechless as Aurion kissed her this time. She let out a breathless gasp, her face blushing brightly as he pulled back and grinned roguishly.

“You don’t have to worry. Since I’m already sure with the matter myself…” Aurion said while still grinning. Despite these words, his heart felt lighter and more reassured. “Regardless, thank you Almaria.”

Almaria blushed prettily and nodded while smiling. “Don’t worry. I’m always here for you, just as you’re always there for me.”

A small silence formed between the two as they stared at each other; their own personal resolve strengthening with each passing moment. Aurion would break the silence a few moments later.

“Ahh. But…” Aurion’s smile grew wider, “I’m still keeping this video!” he then held out his left wrist bearing Vega; watching Almaria’s face flush darkly before speeding away laughing. And as if that wasn’t enough, “I wonder how much they would pay if I had this auctioned at the base!”

“Ah-ah… I…” Almaria stammered as she saw him zoom away. She then shakes her head furiously and glowers at quickly zipping away Aurion, speeding up her flight as well, “AURION! Come back here, you baka!”

“Hahahaha!”

The rest of the team could only shake their heads in wonder at the laughing couple who reached them later.

Yes… as long as I have them… I won’t hesitate. I’m sure about this… This is all someone like me can do. And I’ll make sure I won’t fail!

COMBINATION ATTACKS: Aurion and Almaria’s almost absolute empathic link allowed them for a number of combination assaults as a single unit.

Dual Turbo Blitz Strike/D.T.B.S: One of their combination attacks, this one being set as the ranged attack. Almaria would initiate her trance with more than a hundred bullets of mixed Impact and Piercer Bolts using two cartridges. She would then start advancing towards the opponent. Aurion would first engage one enemy up close; letting Almaria’s shots (all of which amazingly never even graze him) cover for his lack of melee specialization. He would then either bind or incapacitate the opponent with any appropriate spell (usually using two cartridges for best effect), falling back into Almaria’s blizzard of projectiles afterwards. At this point, he would join Almaria and her shots in completely mauling down the opponent with innumerable energy projectiles, finishing the assault when Aurion Sonic Moves behind the opponent and stabs the enemy with his MEB (using up another cartridge) and shoot him/her towards Almaria. She would then shoot with her own MEB followed by a Kinetic Buster (using up her remaining cartridges), blowing back the enemy towards Aurion for him to finish off with a cartridge-boosted Break Impulse. A definitive elimination maneuver, the target is not expected to make it out alive after this.

Eye of the Storm Assault/E.S.A.: The close-ranged variation of the first combination assault. Almaria and Aurion would simultaneously engage the adversary up close with a staggering amount of controlled shots. They would rely on their agility, Aurion’s occasional illusions and the sheer volume of the shots to avoid any counterattacks the enemy might try.

Aurion gets a upgrade to his profile as well.

Very nice scenario going on there and of course Zeta's beam rifle and combo attacks are WIN.
