シャナキタ━━━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━━━ !!!!
Finally a victory for our favorite Melon Pan eater. Although the vote turnout was surprisingly low. 7 of the 8 matches on round of 16 had more votes. 2 of the 4 quarterfinals had more votes. It had more votes than the semifinals, though. Wait, is this an indication of the Saimoe2007 syndrome? I can't rejoice that much right now, since I just woke up anyway, but at least I have something happy to think about today.

I love the smell of melonpan in the morning. It smells like... victory!
I'm pleased to see the girl I've supported above all others throughout the tournament finally come through with a win to close out the moe festival "season." SS-Eclipse's sub of 2x07 is out, too; time to watch that and celebrate, and hope the rest of the series will be worthy of a champion--not that what happens in a tiny corner of otaku space is going to have any effect one way or the other on the writing staff, of course, but whatever. ![]() Cheers to all for another fun tournament; much thanks to Eundong and company for the administrative work and wontaek for being our anizone liaison. --- edit: Bracket for archival purposes. ![]()

Well, I guess before this thread completely dies out. Once again, congratulations to Shana. Despite Super Best Moe came off as an exhibition tournament at first, in the end, it seems like there are some sort of recognition for it as an actual moe tournament in the year.
![]() I had fun while this was on! I'll still be checking this thread regularly whenever there are any posts or updates (or when minhtam comes from his funeral and is up to writing that final annoucement ![]() ![]()

Time for one final post. Like many others have said, congrats to Shana. Finally after so many years of being a semi- finalist, quater- finalist, and a tunner up, she's finally a champion. I hope 08' moe season will be just as fun as this year's.

It's been over 3 months of action, joy and despair.
All wrapped in these moe tournaments. Hope to see everyone again on '08. And I do wonder who will take the place of the dolls, now that they won't be returning anymore. ![]()

![]() *sigh* Dreams... ![]() I don't think it is too far of a bet to think that HnG might take over the former positions of the dolls. Nagi already set her first print on Saimoe (as Souseiseki did). Maybe Hina will win champion next year. ![]()

A surprise announcement of season 3 would be a good Christmas gift. I actually know a few people on other forums. Saying they actually bought a Suiseiseki costume and they wore it on anime convention. Here's my last post of images. ![]() Christmas Shana scans to celebrate the Spirit of Christmas with Shana. ![]() ![]()

As for HnG emulating the dolls in terms of dominance, I think it is possible. They have the potential, a good showing in their first year ala RM in 2005. That is provided the anime exceeds 52 episodes. If not, then they will just be in action for two years (2007-2008). However, considering that the manga is still ongoing and showing no signs that it will be ending soon, there's plenty of material to go through. For 35 episodes, they've taken only Volumes 1-7 out of the 13 currently in print, with some parts skipped and could possibly be animated in the future. And the kicker is that the best parts of the manga are just waiting to be animated. So if all goes well, HnG might become a solid Saimoe franchise But there are still other franchises that would probably replace the void RM will leave. Haruhi Suzumiya is one. Lots of material still uncovered + popularity = more seasons, which means more Saimoe appearances. Higurashi could be one. As for others, I can't tell for now. So looking forward to 2008, seems like it would be a great, if not better, Moe Festival Season. ^_^ PS thanks to everyone who made this season enjoyable and worthwhile of our time. That means the organizers, updaters/liaisons, support/campaign material provider, analysts/data miners, and so forth. ^_^

I'd certainly be back to support Hinagiku, Shana, Rena, Rika, Fate and Nanoha for next year. ![]()
