Musical anime.. ;D

I'm not sure if someone has started a thread like this before but... can anyone of you out there recommend a really nice anime about music? I'm an avid musician.

I've watched Nodame Cantabile and La Corda d'oro. :3

Thanks.

"Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica" uses music as a Deus-ex-Machina style weapon, but it's not what I'd call a music anime.

if you won't mind old anime try violinist of Hameln -- it an action/adventure focus plotline but used some classical music.
Cello no Hiki no Gauche - a very old movie about music

There's also gravitation! it's a shounen-ai, but if it doesn't bother you it's a nice anime really
It's the story of a boy that wants to be a famous vocalist and so he founds a band.

There's also another one which doesn't focus on the music but it is quite musical, i dare say. it's called Kagen no Tsuki, I never really watched the anime series, only seen the movie (with Hyde-sama ) and read the manga so I don't know if the song from the anime are nice so I'm not really recommending it, I'm just mentioning...

It's not quite about music in the way that Nodame Cantabile is, but I'd recommend A Little Snow Fairy: Sugar -- the main character is the daughter of a famous pianist, and her mother's piano as well as music in general play important roles in the story. It's quite cute, though serious at times, with great music throughout and a rather heartwarming story.

Big big "seconded" for BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad.

I'd also recommend Violinist of Hameln if you like dark-ish fantasy tales and can tolerate really terrible animation. It's good a pretty good plot, though.

Maybe I'm getting old but... why hasn't anyone mentioned Piano? It was the first slice of life series I ever saw. It revolves around a girl who is an amateur piano player, and the influence that her music and her playing has in her daily life.
