Holy lovemaking excrement, ep 14 wasn't for the weak-hearted. May others watch Shigurui and think they are hardkore, I'm staying with this.

really epic episode but come on, shigurui is packed with intense drama aswell.

Ep 14

Some of the bridge allegories in this episode were rather existential. Really meaningful, nonetheless. The idea of everyone being alone on their own bridge was a rather poetic one, in particular.

Brilliant, brilliant episode. The metaphors for real life are frighteningly apt, and the way they're deconstructing these characters in this life-or-death situation is just astonishing.

Good to see people getting into Kaiji, for me it's definitely the best anime in a long, long time, albeit unbelivably underrated.

It's only just going to keep getting better from here...

The scene direction was excellent in this episode, especially

when we see Ishida's POV just before he falls. The shakiness followed by the dramatic descent...plus when we see him covering his mouth so Kaiji won't hear him scream was just...wow =-o

BTW, the Kaiji MADs on niconico are top notch

Kaiji kind of reminds me of Death Note somewhat, with its analytical nature, the soundtrack is also fairly similar.

It is a pity that the episode rips get swiftly deleted ; it would have been fun to see other people's reactions in ep.14.

Yeah, the Ten + Akagi one was well done. An unknowing person could even think this was a real ED.

This one I saw, too. I also have this song saved so it was pretty good seeing it paired up with the rapid loops (LOL at the loops of the kurohuku slapping Kaiji)

This one I found recently, hilarious with the person who actually made a sponsor page in the beginning (dunno if it is still there since comments do change quite a lot)

And this one seems to be the most popular of the Kaiji MADs, with nearly 238,000 hits.

Just finished watching episode 15 RAW.

Spoiler for episode 15, aka don't click if you don't want to be spoiled:

Another person dies (Sahara), just as we thought things could finally turn for the better for him...He thinks he makes it to the finish only to be blown away by a giant gust of wind from inside the building (possibly what Ohta was feeling before he fell to his death?)

We also get to see that creepy old guy who reminds many of Washizu Iwao (they're voiced by the same seiyu actually) and Kaiji takes part in what looks like yet another card game, but I have no idea what the rules or stakes are.

This show keeps getting better and better.

Personally, I wished the scene where Kaiji charges at Tonegawa was done more dramatically like in the manga. When I was reading it that scene was really,really powerful and I was greatly affected .

Other then that, fine ep as usual. Especially imo the execution of Kaiji's emotions were done very very well.

I didn't mind that scene so much, but I kind of wished the scene with Tonegawa showing Kaiji the three types of cards, citizen, emperor and slave, was a little more dramatic. (It would have been good if was at least a CLOSE-UP on the slave card - Building on the whole analogy of Tonegawa being the emperor and Kaiji being the slave ...)
