I think the latest manga volume that came out for Nodame is #19, Vol #10 is all new material so that's at least 9 volumes of material atm to work with. Of course it's better to wait until we get to a good stopping point before doing another series. I've only read upto Vol 15 (it's good stuff the paris arc) so I have no idea if there already is a good point to stop or if seems like one is approaching. Would personally like to see Nodame Cantabile return in the Winter 2009 slot for Noitamina, that would mean.. what vol 21 would out by than?

Btw Soshen is there only 1 Nodame DVD ep or is there more?

So is there another unaired episode on DVD 5?

As I mentioned in the earlier posting, there are apparently two unaired episodes, one on DVD 3 and one on DVD 5. I'm guessing the beach extra came on DVD 3 (where it would fit into the show's time sequence). What's the one on DVD 5? Is that the intervirew you mention, or is there also another actual story episode?

Oh, and thanks for this extra! It was fun.

I just saw the NC special episode and it was great. In this beach episode on the way to a music festival we get to see some Nodame fanservice Woot! and some funny scenes too (the one with the yaoi drowning scene was hilarious). I'm not sure if this was based on the manga though.

I got tired of waiting for a second season, so I just caught up with the manga in 3 days (starting where the anime left off). Now I need to start from the beginning since I enjoyed the manga so much.

But reading the manga makes me even more hopeful for a sequel. It would be so great animated.

The beach episode is pretty funny, I've heard that it was left behind from the original series because it didn't had any influence on the series. So, what do the manga people here have to say? The chapter was on the manga?

That would be sweet. I have not heard any rumors about another season of the anime, but as popular as the whole Nodame franchise is (anime, manga, live action and music CDs) I still think there is a very good possibility of another season.

The thing is, in the anime at the end, it literally said that they are together and dating.
I'm pretty sure that is not how the story went in the manga.

Did the anime imply that they are dating?

The manga and the anime ending are the same. They aren't implying they are dating in either. Showed some feelings for each other? Dating? Not really. Well, I think Nodame did say they were but that doesn't mean anything. That comes pretty much later. Chiaki is more in denial then that.

The beach episode is also from the manga. It's not that relevant, but you just see more about Chiaki's phobias.

As for more anime, the new live action ended in a pretty decent place so there is a place to end it if they wanted to do another season. Though it was condensed and the scenes switched around, so if they followed the manga it would be harder to find a good spot.

Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter Anime Sequel Announced

The official Japanese website of the Nodame Cantabile anime series has announced the October premiere of the Nodame Cantabile Pari-Hen (Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter) sequel. The new story arc will run in Nodame Cantabile's former late-night Noitamina timeslot in Japan. Both Tomoko Ninomiya's original manga (pictured at right) and the 2006-2008 live-action drama adaptation have already set their later stories in Paris. All versions of Nodame Cantabile have the common plot threads of two music students who drive themselves and each other to greater artistic heights in Japan and later Europe.
Can't wait!!!

I wonder if they're gonna cover the whole paris arc [even I don't know how long it'll last according to manga 20th vol.] in that 2nd season .... the plot is awesome as expected, that's why I'm so happy

Second season! Hell yeah! Well, I already got hooked to the manga after finishing the anime so I won't be surprised unless they deviate from it but I can't wait nevertheless. The Paris arc is just as good as the, let's call it, Japan arc.
