In case you guys haven't noticed... all the bleach characters uses Asian statistics for height and weight... for instance, my sister is 4'11" (roughly the same height as Rukia) at 96lbs... and this is my older sister who is 1 year older than me... my younger sister is 5'3" at 98lbs....

The key answer is not Asian but Japanese . Manga Kas have a racist approach to Asian characters (non Japanese) , they always draw them with Asian eyes . But Japanese characters do not strangely have them . The Chinese Martial Artist or the Korean story Teller are bound to have Asian eyes .
I am not Asian but an Asian Person pointed this out on this very forum , Think it was Wao ? ( Not Sure )[ The discussion was DTB centric how Hei didnot look Chinese as comapred to his anime counterparts ]

It variates from artist to artist... its all stylization, so you can get away with anything.
Japanese are asian... in case you havent noticed >_>... we all share similar stereotypes in terms of physical features, and like most asians, we are decent from the chin dynasty from way back when. |

Well.. I'm japanese and I consider myself asian.... as well as my other japanese friends.... so... I don't know where your friend is getting that from...
Edit: true about it not being the topic for it, but it can help understand why anime and such derive their statistical data for their characters. As people in Asia are a lot lighter and slightly shorter than western people. |
