They can easily do another season of anime with material from chapters 20-40 (these are 45-50 page chapters) which cover the rest of the manga. It should've been a 26 episode series from that start, that way they wouldn't have dumped every character introduction on top of each other.

A 3rd season based on Rosario+Vampire II you would have to wait a year or two for though.. since it's in the same mag as claymore... only 5 chapters for that are out so far.. though a Rosario manga chapter is like nearly 2.5 chapters of say Mx0...

If they don't make it longer than 12 ~ 13 episodes I'm going to be very very sad...

They JUST got done introducing all the "good guys"... and the series is about to end already... talking about kicking you in the balls just when you're about to bust a nut...

I do find the first 9 chapters of the manga uninspiring to read, it was formulaic with the monster of the week with Moka beating her opponent in an anticlimactic way. As much as people criticize the anime, the manga has a slow start like most shounen type manga. Introducing the girls first creates better atmosphere while letting the plot unfold.

Or you can think of it this way, once season 2 starts it will just be plot and action. I can see season 2 starting off with chapter 20, with season one ending at chapter 10 it has a nice flow the story.
Supposedly introducing all the girls first have been done before, as someone mentioned Ichigo 100%.

Side note: interesting enough some of the staff has worked on Najica Blitz Tactics before.

Yeah the manga was nothing special until it gets to the events that will be featured next episode but like you said that's like most shounen manga. Still if they had better animation/art and they didn't push up the fan service they might not have lost a lot of fans like it did. I'm still bemused at the addition of episode 4 which was just filler. Apart from seeing True Moka slightly flustered at wrongly assuming Tsukune was leaving it was a worthless episode. That episode would've been better spent on the painting chapter which loosely ties into what will be the ending arc for the anime.

Still I really want to see chapter 23 animated so I hope they get the go ahead for a sequel in Summer or Fall.

Yeah did take some time to get going in the manga. At least it seems we'll get one of the better parts covered in the coming episodes. Also agree they did push the fan service (always remembered for the ridiculous number of panty shots in the first episode) and so probably didn't give the impression there would be anything good and serious coming.

Won't get disagreement from me either that the 4th episode really could have been put to better use.

Considering that the ED spoilers about the "really nice people that only want to have tea with evil moka" I doubt they would be left off without making a second series. Maybe not next season but the one after I would be expecting news "bla bla".

A friend of mine said he'll be disappointed if he don't get to find out who that "bad guy" is from the ending theme

Shin Itagaki directed the episode, he worked on episode 6 & 7 of Gurren Lagann. He was also the director of Devil May Cry & BlackCat.

Hiroyuki Imaishi director of Gurren Lagann even showed up, i think that's his part :

I think for many shows its a good idea to stay away from gonzo. After enough series any time I hear they are behind something I get worried.

this series would've been great if ep's 1-8 were like 9,10. in terms of action/fanservice etc.

episode 1-4 fan-service was just OUT rageous

I treated R+V as something akin to Ninomiya-kun: mindless fun and fanservice.

So I had low expectations in the first place, but I still found myself pleasantly surprised so far. Especially ep9 which had the all the girls powering up to kick ass. Now, that was cool.

The cast for R+V is perhaps the best this season. It managed to put together Mizuki Nana, Kugimiya Rie, Inoue Kikuko, Hisakawa Aya, Saeko Chiba, Tomokazu Seki AND Takehito Koyasu. Not to diss the other VAs who has done good work in this show too, but the VAs mentioned are some of the best and most recognized names in the seiyuu industry.

Add in awesome music and voicing by Mizuki Nana, and R+V is actually pretty good, good enough for me to think that 13 episodes does not do it any justice.

This needs a second season.

Heh, never thought I would be saying that when I first started the show.
