Hmm after seeing the trailer i am pretty sure this series will never come to germany (at least not without censoring)

blood - check
gruesome violence - check
Manji sign on back - check

I have to say its not that dissapointing (after all of you bashing the studio)
It doesn't look too chabby, but we cannot be sure about that until we see a proper trailer.

or actually until the serie begins..
you know, you can never really judge a series by its trailer..
its not like they'll put the bad stuff in the trailer, they only put the good stuff there :P

that said, i too can't help but be optimistic about this seeing the trailer, at least the first couple of eps would have a budget considering the trailer XD

Its more that i simply deny the fact that it could be a horrible translation. I want it to be good.

Went to TAF on Sunday, saw this at IG and went , because I hadn't heard about the anime announcement before:

I can't believe I missed the trailer (wasn't shown at their booth).

Bah, not impressed with the trailer. Bee Train is bad choice for this genre. I will stick to manga.

waa :'( I clicked the link and it didn't work ; ; so I searched youtube for the trailer but couldn't find it.

Anyway, I'll love this animation I'm sure. I read the manga long ago, it was probably actually one of the first ones I bought. I'm female but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the historical/horror/drama style stuff this is gonna be great! I can't wait XD *doki doki*

Glad I'm not the only one looking forward to this. Never read the manga, but I've always been a fan of anime like this. It looks like it's gonna be awesome.

Does this have a homepage up already? I missed the trailer.

At least the poster looks good. It was to be expected that Samura's visceral, sketchy style would end up smoothened and toned down once it's adapted for the screen, but I was seriously expecting worse. (It's safer to be pessimistic.)

But that's just the way it looks. I'm probably more worried about the action. If there are no bloodworks flying, it's not Blade of the Immortal.

EDIT: Whoops. Forget I asked. It's written at the bottom of the poster. The trailer doesn't seem to be up yet though.

Has the airdate changed? On Moon Phase it is now listed as starting the 13th of July. Can anyone confirm this, or set me straight? I was sure it was going to start the 27th of April, as stated on the official web site

Can you even read Japanese? If not stop making up crap. The official site says there will be an event for the anime on 27th April. It's a conference where you buy tickets to get a preview and hang out with the staff. It really bugs me when people that can't read the language try to post "news" and "information" that's inaccurate only to create more confusion. Please refrain from that.

I was asking a question, not posting a fact or news. Please calm down. There are several sites that post the 27th of April so when I saw a different date I simply asked. Take a pill....

Yeah, the trailer (streamed) is up on the site.

It's not going silence the critics at all. Of course not, the manga is sublime. I will say the female characters look a lot better in anime form than the men - and I also liked the music which was used, it's got a slightly brooding retro feel to it.

Besides that though, I'm not sure what to think. It's not 'good enough', but it's not 'bad' either.

The basic line work is still reminiscent of Samura's style, but without the sketchiness feel of it, it loses much of its original personality. I'm not surprised, even though it was disappointing. The women are drawn well of course, but the edginess is less than what it was before.

The good news is that it doesn't tone down its gruesome subject matter, for better or for worse (see the Beasts arc for example), but I'm not certain how far this anime will go. Damn it, I am so not looking forward to --

Spoiler:

But heck, I'm still going to check it out. Hopefully, the anime will turn out good to the point that I'll be following it to the very end.
