I saw Khaos' signature telling people to go vote and Kiri is definately one of the most moe or whatever anime girls I've ever seen, so I hopped over to the website a couple weeks ago and tried to see what the tournament was all about.

Couldn't quite figure it out though, so I'd just like to ask, how does one actually vote?

If AFK resurface and finish the season (much like they did for the first) then that'll be great, but in the meantime I'm more than happy with what Anon are doing and I'd recommend anyone in doubt to get hold of them.

If you don't you'll be in DESPAIR!
Listen to the wise man,

'is what I'll say.

6-7 was a basic effort, but 8-9 sees a remarkable improvement in it. I'm not sure about translation quality, since I know as much Japanese as the next President of the United States, but it's a lot more thoroughly translated at least.

Let's don't discourage Anon's heroic, nameless effort now! I want my subs. >_<

hm, I guess I just went before the actual tournament started or something then. When I first went there was just some stuff on the front page about the tournament starting up and how it used to be Japan only or something.

Not too sure I'd be willing to put in the time investment to keep checking the site for which matchups were going on or scheduling ahead so that I would know and remember when Kiri's in, either. This stuff is quite a bit beyond my normal areas of interest. Ah, well. Sorry for the stupid questions.

Well, anon means only that some anonymous person did it, nothing more...eps 8 and 9 were subbed by a different anonymous person then eps 5-7.

^There, there. No need to be sad over something trivial. If I were to think like Kafuka, I would say "It's a late April Fools Day joke". (Warning: Do not attempt to think like Kafuka as you may get very creepy thoughts at any given point)

Just a stray thought: is there a specific person who does the "Meru Meru" on Meru's cell phone? or is that an actual ringtone available on a cell phone?

Come on. How could fake subs, something I've only read in forum exist? They must be testing the internet.

Ah for the win! 8D Gonna go search it.

On another topic, few questions that have been lingering around in the back of my head a while now;

-Why, in the very beginning, does everyone imply that Nozomu isn't really Japanese?

-Can anyone shed some light on the Zetsubou musical part of ep 7 -what exactly is the story being told?

-And last but not least! I recall, some way back somewhere, that someone had found the source of the reference for the OP in Zoku. I'd like to do more investigating for myself on it, but all I can seem to really remember is something about a polterghiest taking somebody hostage...there were screenshots posted that corresponded with the part where Nozomu is holding Matoi.

I'm pretty sure the only reason they think he isn't Japanese is because Itoshiki is an unusual name, so they guess he must be Korean or something. I assume the musical part you mean is the Zetsubou Ondo? That's a parody of this folk song. Looking at it again in the manga, maru was supposed to be うつ. As for the opening, I don't know what the dance scene is from, but the opening images are supposedly from this, an anatomical text from the Edo period.

I think it's because his name was written in a different style of kanji. Hence why they think he's from continental Asia.

Like how Arai Chie can be read as Niichie. Something like that.

Maybe Kumeta invented the surname, so it could be read as despair xDD

Anyway I found this scan from Newtype which called my attention :S

Even in the official scan, Aoyama is not given a name or a surname, one of the both, and it is only referred as 'aoyama' :S

Spoiler for Teacher's Pet:
