[Poll] Claymore vs Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann
Overall, which anime do you think overall is better? My friend and I were debating which anime series is more fun to watch, so please vote in the poll.
P.S. If this is the wrong section, please move it, thanks.

Overall would be Claymore. Excellent story, plot, characters and visual. The only problem with Claymore is that it didn't stay true to the manga (couple of last eps).
TTGL is great but without it's visual/style, it'll just be another mecha/scifi anime. Not a big fan on mecha... |

TTGL for me, just on the count that romance is a big part of the storyline.
Of course, that's putting aside the Over9000! feeling, the epic mecha battles, and the manliest men to grace the small screen, ever. Yeah, much more interesting than seeing chicks duking it out. Of course, the yuri undertones had nothing to do with it, I swear!

Well, I personally haven't seen Claymore so I can't really vote on the poll, but I'll tell you that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann will not disappoint.
Romance is also a central part of the story as DK3 said, so if you're looking for something with a bit more than pure action, go for Gurren Lagann. |

Well, I personally haven't seen Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann so I can't really vote on the poll, but I'll tell you that Claymore will not disappoint. Romance is not a central part of Claymore, and no, there's no yuri so you all can stop dreaming. The reason I like Claymore so much is because it has many touching scenes and an excellent arc (Teresa's arc, duh), and even though it might have faltered at the end, it was a good ride.

If you're asking for why this thread was created here, it wasn't. It was moved to the Suggestions forum because after the "debates," the OP will what whichever with the most votes, or at least I'm assuming so.

Gurren Lagann!
Having seen both… I say Gurren Lagann. The story is original (anyone who's watched would know), its characters are realistic, and its human worth is greater. Claymore has good graphics, and a "lifelike" feel at times, but I will never consider it more than "decent" |

Seen both, definitely Gurren Lagann. It took a different approach, whereas Claymore was all OMG NARUTO POWERUP!!!!. Next episode of Claymore? KILL MORE MONSTERS POWER UP!!!!
I enjoyed Claymore, but mainly because all the action kept me watching, but so did Gurren Lagann. However, TTGL had more than just action, blood and monsters. I especially liked the ending, whereas claymore was a bit dull. It was quite predictable what would happen next, but TTGL was nowhere near that and like I said, took a different approach. |

Honestly, now that I think about it, why would there be a "neither" option?
Isn't that just for trolls who don't like either anime and want to make it known? I find that when two things are compared, it's hard for neither to be better than the other, and in which case, an option such as "equal" would have been better. Still standing behind Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann for reasons stated above + Yoko. I don't know whether or not I should cast my vote for TTGL right now to create the epic 50-50 from which a more epic anime would have an advantage due to the epicness of the epic situation. Epic, isn't it? And you're fine Blue flame. I find that opinion is usually based on bias anyway. |

Spoiler for Immense SPOILER for Gurren-Lagann!!:
Claymore is good but is quickly ruined by that crying pansy male side kick. But I really don't know which one is better since I watched them both at the same time. Last edited by NoSanninWa; 2008-04-14 at 23:49. |

Seems like two questions, best overall and most fun to watch.
Have just seen one episode of Tengen-toppa, compairing it to Caymore seems a bit silly. Overall I vote for Claymore being better, but Tengen-toppa migth be more fun to watch. |
