They did a pretty good job with getting an American look and feel - for example, the steering wheel is on the left.

Yes, good for the era. By the same token it is VERY 80s, if you know what I mean. Not bad though.

Yeah, I remember when 3.5-inch floppy disks were, like, the best disks ever.

No way man, When this anime was new, 5 1/4 floppys were all the rage. Back when floppy discs were really floppy.

I love starship trooper the ultimate pulp film
And i like the roughnecks series

This anime is a fun way to see how the story is portrayed in a more anime way. Thank you for that.

It takes some time though for a "young" anime watcher to get used to the ugly faces

2nd episode now released.
I never got a chance to watch anything related to Starship Troopers, and the plot and animation is indeed very old school.

This is really good! It isn't 100% accurate, but watching this, I feel I might be able to forget the POS that was the Starship Troopers movie.

I love this adaptation too. The mecha were designed by Kazutaka Miyatake, the silent backbone of studio Nue.... (of Macross fame).

the anime is far more faithful to Heinlein novel.

After watching episode 5, the gritty 80's feel, with the anti-war moral story is great.

How we have soldiers who have risk their lives for scum, but also to see normal people who see them in the same light despite what they do.

sometimes the old anime series are pretty deep and it makes some of the modern series seem quite superficial and shallow in directing and story telling.

dammn, i can't wait for more episodes.
