Rumours of Initial D Movie

lately i've heard several honkie friends of mine
say there is goign to be a Initial D movie, with Jay Chou as Takumi, Edison Chan as one of the keisuke brothers and a few other pplz i cant rmemebr right now,
can anyone confirm this?
any people in hong kong know of this ?

Yes there is going to be an Initial D movie. IIRC that bit of news was reported over at ANN.

I read about this live action movie two years ago, are they really doing the movie?

i doubt it, i dont think theres such places as akagi, akina, usui, AND especially IROHAZAKA. and i dont think they can bring back the cars to, where in the world would 1 find an 86, fc, fd, evo 4, and such n such? i dont think they can pull it off.

i want to know who'd be mogi, mako, and sayuki hehehe

Monkey Peaches is reporting that Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou will play Takumi, Anthony Wong will be his father, and Edison Chen will be Takumi's rival in the upcoming live-action Initial D film. A Japanese actress is also expected to play the lead female role.

Anyway it shouldn't be too hard to find the cars used in initial d. The oldest car is the 86 corolla. There have to people who are into older cars in Japan like in the US.

I hear Hyorli Lee is cast as the main female lead, which I'm guessing is Mogi. Anyways, she is just too damn hawt! But you don't have to believe me, just take a look at the pics and judge for yourself:

Yup, and there's also drift clubs in Japan too. I dunno, depending on whether they decide to use real cars or cheezy cg, this movie is either hit or miss, but with rumors that Edison might not sign on anymore, the movie just got a whole lot more promising. Now if only Shawn Yu would go away too...

gah!! i too hope edison and shawn will leave! they can't act. two words for them; block wood. they both are the pretty boy types. male equivalent of flower vases.
