Regarding Lulu's death, it was simply left with enuff ambiguity that zealots could run off screaming to the clouds he's still alive while practical heads accept what they see on-screen...Both factions will undoubtedly display the feelings of surprise or satisfaction when Sunrise uses that inconsequential breadcrumb everyone has been pigeoning for to set-up the SOOPA OVA based on DVD sales...For me, I don't care if he's dead or alive (whatever serves to make the overall effect of the show better is the one I'll choose if we're at gunpoint)...It can only serve as enhancing someones own subjective longing though...For me, the question of whether or not he's truly dead serves as a pothole on the street they paved and how they could have better paved it...
I mean if the simple fact of him concretely being alive or dead changes and underscores the way all the plot elements were handled in R2, WTH are we really arguing over?? So he's dead, that was the $hit! = So he's probably still alive, that was the $hit!

I am all for Lelouch get both. I am not for kalulu or Cluclu. What I am think is that no matter how well thought out a possible R3 will be, it will definitely have a GW-EW feel, because it must have a third faction. What I would prefer, though, is if they decide Geass itself is the future and try to give everyone Geass... btu we all know that will actually be much worse. |

Okay, here are my thoughts. I honestly thought he was dead when I first saw the episode. Afterward, I browsed online through forums (including this one) for further discussion on this topic. As I started reading the points, I started going through the episode again and again and again. I also started considering all the factors involved in Code Geass up until now.
My simple conclusion is this. I do feel he is alive. I am not a zealot, or in denial. I had believed that he was dead the first time I saw the episode. However, after seeing the ending several times over following that, I have come to the conclusion which is au contraire. Another point, I feel the R2 is Rebellion 2. If L.L. is strictly pronounced in a Japanese accent, it would be closer to Erru Erru, i,e, Erru Tsu, not, R.R. (Are, Are), i.e., Are Tsu. Just a thought. However, I do feel he possesses both the Code and the Geass now, therefore, he and C.C. are together. (And yes! I am a fan of the two ending up together! ) |
