Uninstalled chrome over the weekend when i noticed the googleupdater.exe process.....automatically updating chrome without asking me.
an extra process running when chrome isn't being run? No thanks. Updating chrome without asking/prompting me ....once again no thanks.

That's just a false impresion. Most modern browsers have a redraw limit of 1s. It seems some people just don't like it when it's instant. And these people are noisy and the majority. Chrome seems fast since I'm more then sure it doesnt have it and just does instant redraw.
In Opera: Ctrl F12 → Advanced → Browsing → (set Loading to Redraw instantly instead of the 1 seccond delay)...to moke it fast. Quote:
