What kind of weaponry was the A-Laws ship firing in this episode? It kinda looks like curving lasers, but I think at a different angle it looks like mini missiles?

Missiles most likely, given the cut off trails.

Yeah I guess, but they just seem to be firing them off in perfectly straight lines -- you think the missiles would veer off on an acquired target. Not just fire them off into nowhere

And Lockon totally could have taken a few potshots at the carrier ship and blown it out of the sky on the way out...

Lockon a.k.a. Lyckon did surprise me in this episode. This situation he's in right now is possibly the hardest out of all Meisters. He managed to get himself into a world that his brother lived, surrounded with his friends and their memory of him. He looks similar and people tend to see that similarity off the bat. Comparing him to Niel is certain especially for Tieria and Feldt whom he got close to.

He joined Celestial Being but we don't know anything about his motivation. From his perspective both Catatron and CB may be a good way to fight the war. He doesn't posses our knowledge of CB. We may side with them but he is neutral. He never lived through the things they did.

We can see that at this point he's fighting on his own, as Lyle, member of Catatron and a Pilot of Cherudim Gundam.

That's why they arc at a 90 degree angle when they get out. They are shooting at the Ptolemy 2, which is in front of them.

In comparison they aren't doing too bad.

I mean unlike most Grunt pilots they actually know how to dodge and block, which they did.

Unfortunately the GN-III's are completely outclassed by the new gundams. Two of them tried to block off the attacks with their GN Lances and even that's not enough to withstand 00's blade or beam saber.

As the usual for this series, I will be cheering the grunts on (and yes, I know how futile that is

).

Lyle, although being a constant prick, is a very interesting character. Setsuna has definitley improved as a character as well. I might actually find myself liking CB this time around.

Well, the grunts' battle experience pales in comparison to the meisters and its true that the Gundams are superior in design and technology. The Gundams are not mass produced units which means no cutting back on tech and design. The Gundams are top of the line units with the newest tech and designed for heavy duty combat against superior numbers.

After rewatching that scene, yeah, I think the grunts did a good job of holding their ground against the Gundams. "Overwhelmed" is what I'd like to call it, just like the 00 Gundam's debut in Episode 2. At least not like in Destiny that the grunts are just anticipating lasers and projectiles to hit at them.

If anything, after this episode, the A-LAWS should learn some stuff about how the counter-act the Gundams, or else, they'll remain as A-LOLZ until the end of the season.

Well, part of his "cover", perhaps, by trying to be like Neil in almost every aspect? As I said, I really like that Lyle has a different vibe than Neil. Oh, I wish he'd "touch" Felt for the lulz.

I don't know if this has been asked in this thread, but I'm still scratching my head on where Kyrios's GN Drive went. Did the Feddies acquire it during Al's extraction?

If they were just firing warning shots, that's kind of pointless. And if they were covering Soma, he was unarmed. Except for the Gudam and pistols are quite ineffective against giant robots.

Just watched ep. 3 again.

I love the BGM. It's awesome. The track that they were playing during the Gundams' launch prep was wicked. Anyone know when the OST comes out?

Yeah, I love the track that was playing during the part when Arios started kicking ass and during 00 Gundam's launch in Episode 2. I've been listening to it for quite some time now. I can't wait until the OST comes out, too.
