Anyone know any anime based on games?

whether it be based on a game - such as Ragnarok the animation(based on ragnarok online) or an achual game like .hack//

Tyty~ they are the only 2 i can find >.>

Maplestory (based on a online game).

Um....i dont know if "kino no tabi" enter in this kind of genre, it has a ps2 game...but i think it was released after the anime release.

It matters if the anime was released before the game?. If no then there are many more.

Also, there are many animes based on visual novel games.

Gungrave, the best video game adaptation I've ever seen (excluding visual novels). The first episode is not the best, but second episode onwards, the show turns into an excellent sci fi crime drama with a strong storyline and with a solid ending.

A great deal of romance animes are actually based off visual novels, so if you're ok with that kind of game then check out those. There are also some other series of course not based on visual novels, but really the bulk are going to be.

I'll second Utawarerumono.

There's alot of others out there though--Xenosaga, Star Ocean, and a host of other games have animes.

Ok ive picked 2 i will watch in the future, save makinga nother topic i am looking for another type:

I am looking for anything with vampires, i would prefer it be something like supernatural + comedy and/or romance
Or supernatural at all - but vampires is my favorite thing in the world i will watch any with just magic or something

Supernatural anime ive watched and liked:
Hell Girl
Moon Phase
Hellsing - <3 vampires

Also, something like howl's moving castle would be ok.(LOVED THAT
