My first anime was probably Kimba - The White Lion. That or Speed Racer. Then I watched Robotech (the Macross Saga), followed by Groizer X in a local TV station and was hooked for life.

My first anime expierence was actually watching Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle... but at the time I just thought about it like a normal movie, though my sister brought home one day "Princess Tutu" and wanted me to watch it. Yeah, I was like... wtf?! And she was like... Karen just trust me, the main character reminds me of you
... And then I was hooked. |

The very first anime that I first saw would have to be either Nadia - Secret of Blue Water or Conan the Boy of the Future. I remember my uncle giving them to me on VHS back when I was about 5~7. They were really in bad quality back then, and now they are pretty much done for . I do remember watching a Treasure Island adaption before, but I can’t seem to find its name anywhere.
The very time I watched anime as ''anime'' must have been Digimon Tamers. I think I was around 13 back then, and it was pretty much my introduction into anime was around that time. Ah, those were the days.

The first anime episode I remember to have seen on the TV must be an episode of Dragon Ball Z.
It was a time when the Dragon Ball (Original and Z) series was super popular in France. I was too young to remember that anyway. Now that I think about it, It was a violent anime imo XD, I mean, it was airing at 8h30 / 9 AM, so it was for the very young kids. I don't really remember because I was too young, but it was a time when City Hunter also aired at the same time slot. Later we got Pokémon, that's one of the first anime series I really watched on the TV. I still Love Pokémon (the games) even if I don't watch the anime anymore. We had this local channel that would play anime every Thursday night at 11:00 (This was back in 97-98ish), and my very first exposure to anime was Vampire Hunter D.
First TV series I got involved with was Ranma 1/2, as was the style at the time |
