I have to disagree with both SeijiSensei and Matrim, I think there should be less categories. I think a lot of the categories could be easily merged without losing too much. Categories A, B, C and I could probably be merged fairly easily, categories M and N likewise. But I do strongly support the idea of a "Best of year" category, and I do like the idea of "Best villian" category.

Anyway, I hope people really think things through this year, and we avoid a big mistake like the one last year where we forgot to even nominate 5 Centimeters Per Second for Best Animation, when, had it been nominated, it probably would have come pretty close to winning. That's why I don't think the idea of a bit of "campaigning" in a thread like this is a bad idea. If it's done for the purposes of increasing awareness, it could be beneficial for the credibility of the award. If it's excessive and encroaches on badgering people, then obviously that's when it goes too far. What do you think, Kyomi?
