Nue is one species of mystical beast. Basicly, it's Japanese Chimera.
There is one Nue appear in Ga-rei Zero, which named Ranguren. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nue so Ranguren is a Nue, not a Manticore. (although they look alike ^^") you can also find many other Nue in many other manga/anime too. Ga-Rei is not the first.

Well, that's certainly a way to close out the arc and I'd have to say that the final battle was really fluid, which is probably what this show is aiming for anyhow. Yes, there were some cliches thrown around about friendship and all that, but it was largely inoffensive and action fans should get what they're looking for. I still feel a bit underwhelmed about this series as a whole since a few of the characters got to me and I was never really sure when the producers were actively trolling, but when all's said and done, I did find enough pockets of enjoyment to make this experience worthwhile.

Oh wow, haha~
They really did good job with the series. Great way to end the prequel; I didn't feel confused at the end so it did a great job tying loose ends. I'm at like Chapter 17 in the manga and I think I might go back to reading it again :-) Ep12: Animation was very fluid. Action packed scene with some emotion (didn't really get to me though!). Was great seeing Ken and grown-up Kagura in Anime version (Art style in anime and manga are different).

Not sure if this matters but I was reading an interesting article and apparently Ga-rei was the third most popular anime on 2ch.

on a side note, as i woke up this morning i instinctively reach the computer and browse the intarwebz for latest episode... and wonder why there was nothing new. then the realization hit me: it has ended, with a definitive conclusion. Yomi T_T my slow brain and my sentimentalism, yeah.

I always thought the manga would've been better if Yomi and Noriyuki were the female and male leads.
Overall I thought Ga-Rei-Zero was very good, close to being in my top 10 series. There ending was also very good, although there are certain characters who should not have gotten better from being dead but Kensuke showing up in the end was promising. What's more, the anime was better than the manga that it was based on. That doesn't happen all that often with any adaptation, let alone anime/manga.

Start was awesome
Middle part as well. And after all the cool weapons, fights, friends turning into enemies we get two episodes where Daddy dies, she gets the holy beast (who just flies around and bites, like the other one who jumps around and shoots the same cannon over and over) and defeats her "sister" After two years the cry baby who couldn't kill his girlfriend is following his dick and with no introduction the main character has gotten a boyfriend. Even the gay guys eyes were healed!

A sequel once the manga is done would be nice. Granted, whether or not it's finished the anime would still have to change up some details. But I'm ok with that since I think they did an awesome job with handling Zero. But what I really wouldn't mind is an OVA for the cast of episode one.
Ah, it's been a week since Zero has ended and I'm still rather depressed. Here's the fanart I drew to prove it >A>; Spoiler for IT'S A FLOOOOOD. kinda:

Great series
One of the best of this season. Cool stuff:
- The relationship between the two leads. One of the better evocations of sisterhood. - The general *inventiveness* of the background detail and setting. - The fact that this was true tragedy in the classic sense, coming from personal weakness, rather than just a high body count or apocalypse. Though not unknown in anime TV series, they're relative rare. - Good use of music, as well, especially in the ED and final episode. |
