oh great... really great... it reminded me so much of the first season!

[o] color scheme
[o] characters
[o] music
[o] Slice-of-Life/Comedy feel
[o] Chiaki
[o] Kana
[o] Haruka
[o] Uchida and Fujioka
[o] Hosaka
[o] oji-san
[o] funny gags
[o] good laughs

[o] no black faces
[o] no serious faces

lack of Mako-chan (wait, where is [s]he?)

the opening tried too hard to imitate the first season's, but it was OK (way better than the second's)... I didn't mind the "strange animation quality," but if they can make it funny and entertaining in the Minami-ke way, I think I'm going to enjoy this a lot.

Change in animation back to resembling the first season was a plus. Chiaki and Fuji scene was a O_o... eh? Someone was pushy. Anyways lets see how this season turns out. Hopefully something good and not devastating the Minami-ke series title...

Hmmmm, somehow I hope they still have the "serious faces" someplace in the series...the "Bible Black" style proved rather effective for humor during the first season and had some interesting uses in the second. Properly timed "serious" faces just added to the humorous effect.

ooo I actually laugh/chuckled this time....unlike the second season. It feels more like the manga this time around and its much more similar to the first season as well.
But still something is amiss here...though I can't quite put my finger on it.The hatsumode....the "magic pen that can magically find anything"...

Like i've said a number of times before, you mean the Coharu Sakubara serious face which was used in the manga, and the other series Today in Class 5-2.

Is it just me, or do the girls look a bit older this time around? Kana looks a bit more mature, Chiaki definitely does as well.

I want more Mako-chan!

Kana? Mature?

Watched the OP video (thanks to the one who provided it on Youtube!). The most memorable scene was Haruka cross-grabbing her sisters' heads (I'd LOVE an avatar of that, from a good video source!) Animation was great, though I'm fully aware that it was Opening animation. Glad the cast is back, and the tone of the op reverting back to S1 style

Can't wait for the subs to flood the nets for my weekly fix!

Has any group claimed to be subbing this season yet?

Well, I did see that Ayako put out two torrents of commercials...

So there's a good chance that they're going to sub it (since they also did the first two seasons!)

Considering that is was funny even without subtitles...with them will just bring more jokes to light.

That would be great, even greater if they keep up the 1280×728 h264 releases.

Well, great only if they won't delay the last episode like they did with Okawari.
Dropping a series due to a lack of group's interest is an understandable situation, but not when only the final episode remains T_T

(yeah, I'm one of those few that don't watch the series until completed to the very last ep)

I would never have the patience for that

That's also one of the things that makes people think Ayako will do it. To wit:
They did the first two seasons.
They did those commercials.
They delayed Okawari 13 until late November (or maybe early December). When I saw it released, I remember thinking that they were prepping for Okaeri.

Unless they're messing with us...which is always possible

Characters just look rather weird as compared to the first 2 seasons. Or at least several screens just looks bad and un-natural.

ya, i agree with you, some part feel unnatural, but anyway, overall quite good, at least it no more "black face/human", and a bit look like season1.

Spoiler for ep1:

Is it me or do the faces/heads look kind of weird when they change angles? It looks kind of deformed sometimes.

Probably just the shape of the chin and the angles they chose to show them at.

I tend to not care so much about the art at this point. The humor is what I'm here for now, and that works.

On the other hand, perhaps they decided to lower our expectations this time around, only to surprise us later.

I also see (well hear) that they are still using 70's funk in places for the effect.

Nonsense! Half of the appeal of this show is Mako-chan's cuteness! Art is the foundation of that :P
