So is Crunchyroll going to be doing concurrent release of Skip Beat like they are doing for Naruto Shippuden now? Or would we have to wait 3 months for official subs?

Episode 14 was definitely fun. Video quality on CR wasn't the best, but was ok at least for now.

Really enjoyed the climax with Koenji, and Kanae. And of course Kanae realizing that despite it all she and Kyouko really are friends.

Looking forward to more.

My god, that episode was fantastic. The best i've seen from this series so far.

All my praise for this episode has to to the mangaka, Yoshiki Nakamura for writing such beautiful character development for Moko in this part of the story. The scenes of them walking around the city had me in such warm tears --- the dialogue from Kyoko on how true friends act, and how she's always wanted an experience like this were very touching, though it was Moko's adorable reactions to them. Watching Moko grow has been such a wonderful treat in this series, and seeing it reach this point has made me smile so much.

Kyoko's scene in the back of the van was another touching moment.

Oh and what's this, Kyoko wanting to tell Ren about the commercial? I can see where this is going, and it's going to be so much fun and adorable to see.

So many adorable shots of Moko though. I was going to request some avatars to be made, though there were just far to many of them to choose from.

Well the wait to see some back ep. of Shugo Chara! (at least 80 days) should start convincing some to join if they will stop complaining long enough to fork over the money. If you can stand waiting 1 week, then wait.

And kudos to the writer for coming up with such an amazing plot and method to get Kyouko out of this pickle of a situation. Who would have guessed that it actually turned out some damn funny

Highlight of the episode for me has to be the scene where Moko was splashed...is it me or does she look even more stunning covered in lemonade

That is one of the high points of the series, the animation is always on top form and beautiful.

Also for Moko she finally gets the character development she deserved and boy did it deepen her a whole lot. It is lovely to see that she has finally warmed up (though she will still be tsun throughout the series) to Kyouko...friendship get +1

The part where she was eating the ice cream with Kyouko just made me grin like mad.

Good riddence to the bitch girl...hope she learns a thing or two from Moko's lecturing.

And I can't wait for next arc ^^'

HAHAHA!! The intro was so funny. She didn't even get intimidated by the director but the director got intimidated by her.

The finale was nice and I liked how blunt Kyouko came about it after the acting battle. And them selling the idea that she may just be really smart and attentive beneath all of her idiosyncrasies and plain out idiotic behavior sometimes.

Strangely, it reminded me of how in Dragonball Z, people were starting to suspect that Goku is in fact, subconsciously genius behind his methodology.

If there is a second season, we'll be in good shape, material wise. To give a rough idea: episode 13 ends on chapter 28, the penultimate chapter of volume 5. We're currently half-way through the season so if, like I suspect, they aim to end the current season on volume 10 (chapter 60) that means they have 31 chapters to cover in 12-13 episodes. Would be a very satisfying story-arc to finish on and a potential second season would follow on pretty well.

If we got another 25-26 episode series, maybe they'll continue at about the same pace and do chapters 61 to 114. That'd have an amazing amount of character / story development.

The latest chapter is 133, with 134 due out in 3 weeks. The series has been written at an average of 19 chapters a year. So we'd need another 2 years for the author to write enough for a 3rd 25-26 episode season. But, that wouldn't be too big an issue I'd think. The most likely scenario for a 2nd season would be for it to start 6 months after the 1st season ends (ie 1 year after the first season starts) - so a potential 3rd season would be similar and so be 21 months away anyway.

AFAIK the author hasn't given any hints to how long she expects the manga to continue for. And even then, story arcs often end up rather longer than she originally planned The end-game hasn't started yet, so we have quite a bit to go yet (definitely enough for 3 seasons of ~26 episodes each!)

So, there's plenty of story still to cover! And it's all awesome too! Kinda hard to describe how exactly - Skip Beat isn't an easy story to summarise well.

Let's hope they dont pull a fruba on us and animate it only 26 episodes unfinished and saying "that's it? now what?"

Kyouko really is incredible. Really does walk the line of genius and madness quite well. Just crazy how she came up with an outstanding idea in only a few seconds. She is at her best when under pressure. Sure times when she can be in a dangerous place, but also proving once again that she can do some amazing things. Loved seeing the act they put on there. I was laughing with them when the bottle overflowed .

Once again think that the bond made here will benefit both of them. Like with Maria, Kyouko has grown closer to someone that has some similarities to herself. This friendship that they made will help them both get past the pain of their pasts. Loved Moko freaking out about Kyouko saying "kind of" . Will probably never admit it but she really does appreciate this friendship. Her talking about Kyouko's actions in the school uniform was pretty fun. Never thought I'd like Moko's character this much.

Rich girl really was pathetic. Even going for violence because she couldn't win in acting. Don't expect anything but maybe she'll grow as a person.

Damn Skip Beat is so good. This series is the only series that doesn't have any boring parts all all from all the episode I've seen.

There's been some comments from people wondering about reading the manga. If English is your main language, I'd suggest getting the Viz releases - they're up to volume 16. From then on, you should be able to find good scanlations without too much trouble (most of the earlier volumes aren't scanlated well). If you do pop over to the Skip Beat manga thread here, be sure to have read all the manga first, since current events are discussed without spoiler tags.

PS I wonder if we'll see an anime version of the "bonus manga" that's relevant to this story arc Maybe they'll put it in the DVD release as a bonus feature...

this series is one of the best series of anime that has came out in the past year. I cant believe it doesnt have its own animesuki forum like some less deserving anime does...

A lot of good series do not get their own forum. Makes me wonder whether Animesuki only gives a forum for anime when they get paid or get donation from companies.
