Admittedly, the only thing that can be said is that he's a wimp when it comes to fighting skills (i.e. having none whatsoever and pretty much always being the one protected), he's far from being a coward. ok I think this is abit wrong, having no fighting skills doesn't label one as a wimp.
But in this case, sure he has shown us to somewhat of a wimp but thats a given considering the world he now lives in with his missus being who she is.
Kosu isn't suposed to play the part of the weak turned super gar lead, he's playing the hapless hero role.

Like I said before its role thats handle very well compared to alot of other male leads, he is similar to the likes of Minato from Sekirei(another male lead done very well I may add)

I don't mind the weak male lead just as long as its done right and thankfully it is here.

Remember...that's not History's Strongest Discpline Keichi...In reality someone even if has talent for martial arts can't just learn at an "acceptable level"(meaning:has some use in the fighting beetween high ranked martial artists) in some months or even a year. Not too mention that Kosukegawa's physique must grow so much(he must work a lot on it to reach the "acceptable level"...And he must do as he goes to school and trains martial arts). I think it's close to hopeless to have faith in that Kosukewaga has some real fighting skills in the future. Change 123 somehow warps the reality, but it's still part of the groups of "down to earth(or realistic)" mangas...there's no superpowers, outer dimensions, aliens, or monsters(exept the fact that the top fighters in the manga are monstrously strongXD).
This is not R+V where some "transfusion" power-ups the whimpy Main Guy...perhaps they can play the same stunt as at the Zero scene: pumps up him with some kind of technique/drugs and then he can fight somehow. Perhaps it's extremely rarely needed so i don't think we seen some kind of power up with him.

The bridal part is really lackluster, if you ask me, but whatever. It serves to introduce characters into the story, which is always nice.

Since everyone's giving kinda guess spoilers based on raws, I'll give some plot point spoilers for everyone.

Spoiler for volume 8:

The reason Kosukegawa has a bride is because all of his father's friends like him from the stories that they hear about his moral character and so forth (protecting people even though he's weak and so on). The bride's father did save his dad from a bear, but that's the reason they're friends, NOT the reason that the kids are engaged. The villains in this story arc are some poor, unwitting Yakuza.

Spoiler for volume 9 (chapters 40 through 44):

Introduction of Sora and Sumire, who both use rather interesting weapons. We also learn the history of the fathers' relationship with Motoko's mother. Mikiri has her first taste of Zero, and Hibiki goes topless in front of the Yakuza.

Spoiler for chapter 45 (most recent, first of what will be volume 10):

Kosukegawa's birthday has come around again. What's the present? They all have something to give him and Hibiki has been given permission to give him anything she wants. Motoko's gift is a free grope, btw. We also learn his first name... which was really funny to me, because none of the girls knew it.

Chapter 45 actually has a color page, too, but I haven't scanned it in yet... anyway, these are the special artwork pages from volume 9:

These are the scans that we use for the releases, shrunk down and lowered in quality to save space... they need to be cleaned up and so forth, but they're good enough for a preview.

Chapter 46 will be released in a few more weeks (February 19th). Aaaaaand, we'll be finished with volume 8 and into volume 9 next week. We should be into the monthlies by the middle of March.

As far as I'm aware, you're not going to find anything no matter how hard you look. The Japanese haven't been scanning in Change 123 for the better part of a year (so the Japanese P2P programs have been dry ever since volume 7 was published) and someone in the US scanned in the low quality version of volume 8 that's been floating around about 2 months after it was first published.

Now, pony up and buy the book and you'll get all the raws you want.
