Even though I dont like Sasuke he will eventually become the 2nd strongest Ninja ever. The merged Kyubi and Naruto would be the strongest of course. Just watch Sasuke will have 4 sharingan wheels lol.

Naruto kicks Itachi's ass and Itachi escapes.

Sasuke coincidental see Itachi running/escaping (but doesn't know why) and follows him.

Sasuke challenges Itachi and Itachi (of course) doesn't show or tell he's already half dead and fights back.

So he defeats Itachi, but he find out why he won so easily and want revenge again......

But this time the target is Naruto!

Naruto goes Kyuubi berserk and half-kill Itachi before he remembers Sasuke and how much he wanted to kill his own brother, so he let itachi go. Sasuke on his way home see Itachi crawling around bleeding, and then finnish him with a shuriken. And ofc Naruto doesn't say anything so, Sasukes thoughts is that he was the one that really killed itachi.

Sorry but I don't think this is how its going to happen. I think it is pretty obvious the gates are just for lee to be using even though kakashi copied it and possibly taught it to sasuke. Lee's dream is to prove he can become a respectable ninja with only taijustu and more than likely later in the series he will sacrifice himself and open all 8 gates to stop a strong enemy and save everyone. I have a feeling after this arc there will be a jump to the future....sasuke will eventually gain enough strength to beat itachi, not through orochimaru or the gates.

The easiest way would be for saske to create a following of suicidal fanatics who would all drive carbombs into itachi untill itachi got tired. Then when there were none left itachii would be off guard so saske could throw a monkey at him. Itachi would get freaked and think the 3rd was back and while his attention was on looking for the third, saske could steal the thunderbird mole to dig under itachi and hit him with the huge drill.

well thats the most obvious way i can see anyways.

Man... it's been a while.
Well this was the thread that got my attention the most and I have to drop a line or two.

I think the best way for Sasuke to kill Itachi is:

Sasuke uses lvl 2 curse seal, and rushes to Itachi. Itachi, kicking his ass eventually. Sasuke, like the masochist idiot he is, stands up again and jumps into his mobile-suit gundam, shooting Itachi with everything he's got. Itachi kicks his butt again. Then he uses the lvl 3 curse (Akira God-like type) and merges with the gundam, and transforming to a SSJ8 Gundam Sasuke, then using mange sharingan and delivering his most powerful move inside of Itachi's head:

KAMEHAME 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 YEARS OF PAIN on his ass times a billion times!!! ^_^

yes he can...he opens the first gate in the episode where he is climbing the mountain with one hand to meet sasuke for training. I believe its 50-something and it is after his encounter with kabuto.

poison seems to be the easiest way, especially the type that the 5th uses.

Other than that he should master the sharingan so he can at least stand up to the Mange.

Everytime sasuke meets itachi he acts like an idiot, fights like an idiot. Hes not as careful as he is in the normal situations.

Itachi is calm and watch his foolish brother do his stupid moves
