I liked it. Yes she was a crazy indecisive bitch.. but I can relate to it with some people that I know in RL to some extent and the drama + yamato's struggle to win her heart was pretty realistic compared to most other animes that take an attempt in romance IMO

Got my own copy of the dub just a few weeks ago, and first thing that took me by surprise were the english-translated op and ed . Then there was Yamato's geeky voice, and Suzuka's low almost nerdy voice. I haven't watched this version much yet (only about half of ep1 and a few minutes of another episode), but so far it's not bad (at least it's much better than the horrid Tagalog-dub I saw on TV months ago [blecch!]). I really wanna check out Yamato's reenacted confession with the firefly in the bell-flower he did in front of Suzuka.

Noticed this and thought I would share. All 26 episodes of Suzuka are available (legally) to stream off of hulu.com. They're dubbed but I didn't realize hulu had anime, I'm going to check out what else they have.

Hmm.

I read the manga before I tried the anime and honestly I thought the manga was a lot better. D=

Ah... Tagalog dubs. Reminds me of my childhood. Anyway, you'd be better off watching it in Japanese. More often than not, English dubs are horrible. They just sound really flat, compared to the Japanese dialogue. Get the Lunar fansubs if you can find it.

The anime follows the manga pretty faithfully, so I'd say they're the same. I just wished they animated the whole manga, since the second half is really interesting. Lots of exciting scenes between Yamato and Suzuka.

Watched Suzuka already before on the local anime channel and works as a decent romance story, but dubbing director John Maylas and the scriptwriters should go back to the drawing board, do their homework, and rerecord it. Localization is a hit-or-miss proposition.

In this case, the Japanese voiceovers were widely criticized already. However, I do agree that the English work is unimpressive.

the manga was a lot better, but really didn't like the last few volumes. i guess its too much of a shocker/reality check for me.

I'm assuming that this series spans around 6 volumes, with 26 episodes in all

I've read the (translated) manga for the
parts after the anime. While much remains
the same, the amount of adult content
material is more then what was in the anime,
so I doubt we'll see any animated version of
these; maybe live action, since the adult
themes would led better with live actors.

Chances of a second season are slim as ever these days. People who want a continuation should just go read the manga. It actually finished in 2007.

As much of a fan I was for the first season, I have to say that the second season - and particularly its resolution - p*ssed me off to no end. There was no justification to have the spoiled and selfish brat Suzuka have all sugar blown up her rear end for NO perceivable reason other than that the mangaka is in love with her character design ^_^;

Yes, there were pleasant aspects aswell. Think how Honoka picked the wreck called Yamato up and patched him back up again. But overall, I'm not eager to see this animated. Sorry.
