I swear,...Is it just me or are the non-fight eps ridiculously funny in this series? I don't remember any eps in the first season that have been as funny as most of the eps so far this season...Yeah there's the running Ippo-penis jokes from S1 (him punching himself there being really hilarious), but this season it's almost like the show could work as a "slice of life" ...Takamura's face as he deprived himself of food and water was Ren & Stimpy level hilarious grossness^^...And I thought the ep where he was spooked outta his mind when he shat that creepy-crawler was funny...Takamura nearly made my guts burst with how incredibly horrible he looked in this episode...Then when he went to that scale and it showed he didn't even lose weight I had to clutch my heart I was laffing so hard...Damn never thought Ippo would be like the funniest anime I'm watching right now...

Hajime no Ippo is indeed a slice of life shounen anime. The only un-realistic things about it are the exaggerations on the ring, rib breaking, punch effects...etc. Also DO NOT FORGET the slapstick jokes.

Aoki is seriously the biggest comic relief of the show. Gotta love that guy.

that aside, i noticed the animation quality dip was way too noticeable for me, don't get me wrong, i still love it but

looking at ippo dodge the jabs looked so incredibly silly, i had to rewatch that same scene multiple times because i couldn't believe my eyes

as for the dempsey roll, im glad they used the same sound effects from before, i love it, however, ippo looked a little chubby at some points


that jab dodging was so LOLSLFOLORFL that i might have to make a gif of it, unless someone else wants to do the honors
