Claymore mod for Half-Life 2
I and few other people are considering making a Claymore mod for Half-Life 2 (first person action similar in gameplay to Dark Messiah and possibly Oblivion) and we would like to know your opinions whether it should have realistic graphics (example) or look painted like for example Valkyria Chronicles game (example).

In my most honest opinion, realistic graphics for anything animé based is scary and should never be considered (not throwing my opinion on anyone, just how I feel)
The graphic style in VC is nice but also a style like (see spoiler) Spoiler for suggestion:
Would also fit nicely, the black lines are very typical of animé style MMO's that I have played in the past and makes a really nice style. Not sure if that classes as other but the grainy style that is seen through VC is...meh to me |

*recalls his JK2 MP days* As Epsilon said, animesque graphics would propably be the best bet. That way, the characters would look much more authentic than how anyone could make them realistic. I mean, realistic graphics are like the difference between an anime and its cosplayers. It's just huge. Of course, you can try and make a test model featuring both ideas and show it to us, but I just don't see that happening, considering its time consumption. Also, I don't know how flexible HL2 engine is, regarding this situation... Spoiler for Czech:

Great idea,
The question is how well would either of them look. I'd go for painted style. I've seen many games that do great with this style, being very simple in design, adding to the feel solely by the usage of shadows ect. Then again, how well would that blend with the environment? I guess it's a matter of preferences and skills.

I'll be interested in Claymore mod for Morrowind tho .. Oblivion ...well, I still have the dvd iso.. but I deleted the game after a few weeks .. Morrowind, on the other hand, have one dedicated HDD just for its mod and my morrowind folder now have exceeded 100Gb >.< Money well spent I must add .. Even tho I only finished the main quest twice.. Once in the first run, and then once more so I can play Qarl's excellent the underground mod
