Toy Story 3

Teaser Trailer

Woah, talk about a blast from the past.

Third installments are usually bad, and the production switches it's gone through isn't helping, but I'm definitely going to check it out for sentimental reasons at least. . . a year from now.

Finally a teaser trailer is out.
The second movie more or less wrapped up things nicely and then they had the TV series and stuff, so this kinda has an element of the Simpsons Movie for me (just another adventure but this time 90mins long)

Wonder what it'll be about...

EDIT: (post watching it)
kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, the theme tune!!!
*sings* you got a friend in me~~~~
The VA voices are exactly on the mark, it really is a blast from the past.

Should be interesting, just 1 year to go
(In the meantime, HP 6!!! *jumps up and down for next month*)

I was just about to turn 5 when the original came out in 1996 (world release date) . My god does this bring back memories.

I will be 18, almost 19 when this actually comes out, part of me doesnt want to go to the cinema for that very reason. But i know i will give in and go watch it, I mean just even hearing that theme tune again made me go crazy xD

Toy story was actually a pretty good series of movies (First was undoubtly the best) it certainly brings out the child outta everyone and was a real heartwarming story. It's gunna look good, but though I'm sure I might be embarassed to be a teenager and watch it, I still might just for old times' sake. And yea, the tune is just amazing.

The Toy Story movies are good no doubt, but I'm fearful this might be another one of those shoddy franchise cash ins. Then again its pixar and from what I've read Lee Unkrich will be directing. WIth that said I haven't been pleased with a lot of recent Disney/Pixar movies.

Everyone's VA, including Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, is back except Slinky the Dog(Jim Varney) and Weazy the penguin(Joe Ranft) due to the fact that they are both dead.

I think the premise is that Andy has left for college, and leaves the toys in a daycare, alla The Brave Lttle Toaster. I can't confirm that with a link, though.

As for the not wanting to be seen in the theater thing, just bring a younger sibling or relative, you help a parent out and keep your street cred.

My thoughts.
Toy Story was great, but I'm not expecting too much. I don't like the latest films from those infamous studios, they lack the flare the old ones had - like Toy Story 1. Toy Story 2 was fine too I guess. But what is the story going to be this time? Again about toys being abandoned? .. like the third time?

If they are going back to the past ... could they come up with an oldfashioned animated one again? With real storytelling for a change? XD

But I gotta say ... the trailer was entertaining I'll watch it and hopefully won't sulk~

I first saw the title and thought "what the hell is there left to say in this storyline?" Disney has such a talent for crushing their good creations into "direct-to-video" pulp. But... the premise actually looks interesting and Pixar has not really made a stinker yet (Bolt came pretty close to meh-bleh though.... the hamster saved it from total meh).

Bolt wasn't Pixar, it was Walt Disney Animation Studios in the same vein as Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons

Did you know that Pixar and Disney are 'one and the same' now, right? (Of course, fortunately Lasseter is in charge of the combined studios)

Actually, the pigeons in Bolt (which seemed a bit like an homage to Goodfeathers of Animaniacs) were good moments as well.

Pixar just doesn't make bad movies, so I'm pretty sure Toy Story 3 won't be terrible, at least. At least, that's just what I'm hoping.

Yes I am well aware of the merge, however Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios are still separate studios under Disney thus I do not consider Bolt a Pixar production even with the same guy heading both.

BTW, did anyone make an Up thread? The title's too short to search for.
